Buckley in his article "In Search of Anti-Semitism," published in the December 30, 1991 issue of National Review that this author subscribes to the view that U.S. foreign policy is controlled by Jewish Americans who are fully determined to advance the interest of Israel and that they are prepared to brand anyone as anti-Semitic to stop him. It is speculated that Buckley may have ascribed this view to the author for his involvement in the Vidal-Podhoretz controversy. The author further explained that he has been a consistent supporter of Israel.
