Integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in teacher education is a means to support the teaching and learning process. Good teaching by utilizing technology certainly requires changes, especially in the realm of pedagogy, but teachers apparently do not have enough ability to optimize ICT in the learning process. In fact, ICT has the potential to provide various benefits for teachers and students, including joint learning areas, cooperative and collaborative learning opportunities. Therefore, this research aims to identify the use of mobile learning application (MLA) and its impact as a form of ICT integration in learning. The method used is literature study, by taking data from various relevant scientific articles and books. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis from the results of the synthesis of several literature reviews obtained. The research results show that a number of 10 main articles and 15 relevant supporting articles as well as several book sources show that mobile-based learning with smartphone devices is becoming a trend at various levels of education, both academic and vocational.

The objective of this study was to evaluate and characterize the argumentation patterns used by seventh-grade students in the context of algebraic addition and subtraction problems. A qualitative case study was conducted using the Claim-Evidence-Reasoning (CER) model (McNeill & Krajcik, 2008) and argument quality framework. To describe the arguments put forth by the participants, a sample of ten students with high mathematics proficiency and ten students with low mathematics proficiency were selected from the target population of junior high schools in a large region of West Java, Indonesia. Data collection was carried out using written argumentation frame for algebraic operations (AFAO). The results revealed that, although none of the students employed the CH+EH+RH pattern (which represents the highest quality of arguments), students with high mathematics proficiency levels exhibited a greater prevalence of these argumentation patterns compared to those with low mathematics proficiency levels. The findings have implications as a valuable resource for teachers in monitoring the advancement of their students and preventing or alleviating diverse difficulties or inaccuracies that they may face. Based on the findings, a specific design for a classroom teaching activity is proposed.

Traditional houses are part of the culture of every country. Indonesia is a country that has a variety of traditional houses. The traditional Banyuwangi house is known as the "Using" house. This house can be explored in terms of ethnomathematics and used as part of learning mathematics. This research is focused on knowing and describing mathematics learning that integrates the ethnomathematics of "Using" house, thematic, and connected models. The research was also conducted to determine the effectiveness of the learning that has been carried out. The results showed that the use of the "Using" house in ethnomathematical-thematic-connected-based mathematics learning: (1) could be done using the trivium concept (literacy, matheracy, and technoracy); (2) can be done thematically by integrating four subjects (Indonesian, social sciences, fine arts, and mathematics); (3) can be connected by integrating two mathematical concepts (two-dimensional geometry and arithmetic); (4) through seven phases of learning; and (5) effective because 80% of students can solve problems as expected.

ICT-based learning media innovation is very relevant to support the learning process. Therefore, this study aims to develop interactive multimedia products that are suitable for use in learning activities. The method in this research is research and development (R&D) which adopts the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model. The data collection technique used was a non-test technique, with a variety of instruments at each stage. At the analysis stage we used an observation sheet and a needs analysis questionnaire; at the design stage we used a document study and then at the development and implementation stage we used a multimedia feasibility questionnaire for media experts, teachers and 54 students. The results showed that during the learning process the teacher was not optimal in utilising ICT-based media; students strongly supported the development of interactive multimedia, which was good, followed by several suggestions for improving product quality. Overall, the interactive multimedia is included in the appropriate category as an instructional media.

One of the cultural outcomes of the Madurese community is the traditional "tanean lanjang" house with a long front yard, designed from several "batih" (nuclear) families, consisting of a married couple with unmarried children. This study explores geometric concepts of the traditional house to demonstrate how they can be useful for learning mathematics. The descriptive qualitative study described the mathematical concepts found in the "tanean lanjang" traditional house or settlement in Madura. Furthermore, an ethnographic method was also used to analyze documents, ethnographic notes, and documentation (photos). Data analysis techniques employed an interactive model of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of the study show that the cultural values and geometric concepts of the "tanean lanjang" traditional house comprised (1) kinship and brotherhood values, (2) harmony in the household, and (3) strength in the household. The geometric concepts contained in the traditional "tanean lanjang" house include 2-dimensional shape (i.e., rectangle, trapezoid, triangle), perimeter of 2-dimensional shape, area of 2-dimensional shape, 3- dimensional shape (i.e., triangular prism), the volume of 3-dimensional shape, curve, and the concept of reflection in geometry.

The use of information technology in education has the potential to have positive outcomes in the face of globalization. This study aimed to identify various needs in order to integrate technology into learning. The study employed a quantitative approach with a survey method to senior high schools. The questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument which was distributed to a research sample of 60 students who were randomly selected. The results revealed that students' attitudes toward the integration of technology into the learning process are inversely proportional to their use of learning media, which is still limited to the printed module. Students would like to create interactive multimedia as a medium for learning craftsmanship and entrepreneurship, based on the needs of students who are technologically literate and efforts to optimize the use of facilities that available at school.

House of Using "Banyuwangi" is one of the cultural components of the Using tribe in "Banyuwangi"-Indonesia which contains a lot of mathematical concepts. The existence of mathematical concepts in culture, commonly known as ethnomathematics, can be the basis for the development of mathematics teaching materials for elementary school. In addition to the application of cultural components in the form of Using traditional houses, the use of Using language as a language of learning can also be a bridge for students to be able to more easily understand mathematical concepts that are still abstract.

The objective of this study is to produce a vignette in measuring mathematical knowledge for teaching based conceptual (MKT-C). The method of this research is a development research conducted by synthesizing the expert reviews on MKT-C in the knowledge domain of material content which was divided into sub domains: common content knowledge based conceptual (CCK-C), specialized content knowledge based conceptual (SCK-C) and knowledge at the mathematical horizon based conceptual (KMH-C) through vignette. The research procedure is as follows: defining constructs, identifying and preparing indicators, developing vignette, validating experts or expert validation and trial test. The research phases included (1) preliminary phase: preparation and design and (2) formative evaluation phase: self-evaluation, prototyping and field test (Tessmer, 2013). At formative evaluation phase, self-evaluation began and it is done by the researcher himself. In expert review phase, validation in terms of content, construct and language by experts was done. One-to-one phase was conducted for the teacher to test the readability. Then it was tried out to the teachers in the small group of non-research subjects. They were asked for suggestions and comments for improvement. The small group carried out was to 29 teachers who participated in the teacher professional education program at Universitas Halu Oleo.

This study aims to implement empirically students' abstraction with socio-cultural background of Indonesia. Abstraction is an activity that involves a vertical reorganization of previously constructed mathematics into a new mathematical structure. The principal components of the model are three dynamic nested epistemic actions: recognizing, building-with, and constructing. This study identified the abstraction profile of a junior high school student in constructing quadrilateral relationship. The student was asked a question related to quadrilateral. The interview was developed based on her answers by using keywords, "what, how, or why". The result of the student's abstraction and attributes were used to recognize the differences and similarities of quadrilateral shapes, building-with attributes by linking the characteristics of every two quadrilaterals, and constructing a network of relationships among quadrilaterals by drawing a figure of such networks.

The purpose of this study was to examine the abstraction thinking or the vertical reorganization activity of mathematical concepts of high school students while taking account of the abstraction that was constructed earlier, and the socio-cultural background. This study was qualitative in nature with task-based interviews as the method of collecting the data. It involved 62 high school students, and conducted for one year. The study focused on activities related to how the subjects grouped plane figures, recognized the attributes of each two plane figure, recognized the relation among them based on their attributes, defined plane figures, connected their attributes, as well as constructed the relations among plane figures. The results indicates that the abstraction level of high school students in constructing the relations among quadrilaterals consists of concrete visual level, semi-concrete visual level, semi-abstract visual level, and abstract visual level, together with indicators of each level. Therefore, the researchers suggest that it is necessary to design a learning activity that facilitates the four levels of abstraction, so that a student might increase his/her level of abstraction.

The COVID-19 pandemic has become a global issue which has a broad impact, especially in the education world. This study aims to analyze students' learning anxiety at the Universitas Raharja Indonesia during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research was conducted with regular student (morning classes) and non-regular student groups (afternoon classes) at the Universitas Raharja. The data collection technique was a closed questionnaire where respondents were given five alternative answers. The data were collected, analyzed descriptively, and categorized using the seven scales. The results showed that learning anxiety in the regular student group was 77.75% and in the non-regular student group was 81.05%. There was a difference in learning anxiety between regular and nonregular student groups, but it is not statistically significant.

Introduction: Caring for patients who have schizophrenia in tidal floods requires more effort than patients who have schizophrenia in non-tidal flood areas. Family caregivers are required to manage stress and burden through adaptation to roles and the environment. Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of family adaptation experiences of those who care for patients with schizophrenia in a tidal flood area. Methods: This research is a qualitative research with a descriptive phenomenology. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, and the number of participants was 10. The data collection used in-depth interview techniques. The Colaizzi method was used to analyze data. Results: The adaptation experience meaning of family caregivers obtained four themes: (1) forms of family caregiver responses; (2) patient engagement as a way to provide quality care at home by family caregivers; (3) family caregivers' difficulties in utilizing health services; and (4) resources for family caregivers. Conclusion: The meaning of adaptation is whether the family caregivers feel the impact of their role and have difficulty utilizing health services in caring for patients. Despite this, family caregivers still try to continue to involve patients in daily activities and look for sources of support that are useful for them. Recommendation: The physical and psychological well-being of family caregivers also need to be improved to support optimal care for patients who have schizophrenia by family caregivers at home. Background: Adolescents are considered good cadres who can socialize healthy dental behavior. Therefore, designing a dental health education program is necessary to prepare adolescents to socialize dental health behavior. Purpose: This study evaluates the pilot program for trainers using persuasive communication to socialize dental health behavior. Methods: Thirty-five participants (13-16 years old) were trained by a persuasive communication coach and practiced the skills with a simulated client. This one-day training had a two-phase structure: lectures and practicum. The evaluation was completed utilizing three of the four-level methods from Kirkpatrick (1959). The data analysis used for the reaction evaluation was descriptive statistics, calculating the average score per category of training support assessment items (curriculum, facilitator, accommodation, and overall score). The learning outcome analysis resulted from an analysis of the pre- and post-test results using the N-Gain value and paired t-test. Behavior outcomes were also analyzed descriptively by calculating the average score of all participants in every timeline (baseline and two weeks after the training). Results: Evaluation of this training revealed that reaction has an average total score of 4.02, which shows that the participants were satisfied with the training, learning has an N-Gain acquisition of 48.28%, and behavior level shows a positive outcome as an increase in points from 3.4 to 4.2. As a heavy equipment distributor company with a widespread population of units across Indonesia, PT. Kobexindo Tractors Tbk holds a significant spare parts inventory to meet their customers' needs. However, efficiently and effectively managing spare parts inventory is a challenge the company faces. Over the period from 2016 to 2023, the company experienced an average annual loss of Rp. 1,176,438,113, due to the inadequate analysis of spare parts demand, which serves as a reference in the procurement process. To address this issue, this research focuses on developing a model that can generate accurate forecasts for spare parts inventory, particularly Jungheinrich parts, to support appropriate management decisions in the procurement process at the company. The Exponential Smoothing method is chosen for its ability to handle data with fluctuating patterns and trends. Based on a review of previous research studies, the Exponential Smoothing method has proven to be the most effective in forecasting spare parts inventory with a high level of accuracy. This study will compare the Simple Exponential Smoothing, Double Exponential Smoothing, and Triple Exponential Smoothing methods. The attributes included in this research are spare parts inventory data collected from the company during the period of 2016-2023, which will be processed using Exponential Smoothing techniques. The results of these calculations will be evaluated using the Root Mean Square Error (RSME) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) techniques to test the accuracy and performance of the forecasting models. The data ratio used in this research is 70% for training data and 30% for testing data. The prototype development is conducted using the Python programming language. The research results indicate that the Holts Winter Exponential Smoothing Model with Multiplicative Seasonality and Multiplicative Trend (Triple Exponential) is the best method among others, as seen from the modeling evaluation results as follows: 1) Train RSME (7.082307), a low RSME value on training data indicates that this model has a small used for training. 2) Test MAPE (6.343268), a low MAPE value on test data indicates that this model provides fairly accurate predictions in percentage terms of the actual values on the test data. 3) Test RSME Values (23.160521), a sufficiently low RSME value on test data indicates that this model also successfully generalizes well on unseen data.prediction error rate on the data [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The use of structured query formulation languages is a method for gaining access to data in information management systems. Writing structured queries is a powerful method of data retrieval, and end users can generate complex database queries by becoming proficient in a particular query language. Digitization of database information systems, history and endowment, and technology conservation are some examples of database conservation techniques in the process of displaying data that require optimal query techniques. Historical and endowment properties comply with a certain set of laws governing waqf recipients, which sets them apart from heritage and cultural assets. Trusted property typically comprises real estate, valuables, or both and has an infinite preservation term so long as it may still be put to use. A solid information technology infrastructure is essential for ensuring comprehensive data security. Given the availability of knowledge and the quick development of information technology, ensuring its sustainability is a challenge. This research is aimed at preserving historical and waqf databases based on the case study of the Kingdom of Sumedang Larang (KSL), Indonesia, through examination of the database, synchronization of digital data with physical data, as well as looking at its relationship with organizations and management. The proposed method, namely the Design and Analysis of Database Query Model for Preservation Information System (DAQMP), creates a recurring query model from the original tabular data placed in the next table as a special table check for data specifications containing important data. The results must be accurately aligned between digital and physical records regularly to serve as a record of any changes and as evidence to determine whether data has been corrupted, altered, or lost. The need to better quantify the variability of soil shear strength and its relations with the factor of safety is increasing in Indonesia. However, this aspect has not yet been studied thoroughly. This paper presents an attempt to quantify the variability of undrained shear strength in relation with the factor of safety of an alluvial deposit in the Doplang region, Central Java, Indonesia. A relationship between the undrained shear strength, su, and N-SPT for the deposit was found as su = 3.4 NSPT. The variability of the undrained shear strength was quantified utilizing the coefficient of variance, s/κ (the sample standard deviation, s over the mean, κ) of the N-SPT correlated undrained shear strength. The variability of the undrained shear strength was investigated for the soil near ground surface. The deposit had a value of s/κ ranging from 0.15 to 0.25 near ground surface. The variation of s/κ tended to follow normal and lognormal distributions. Relationships among the coefficient of variance, the probability of failure, and the factor of safety in terms of soil strength for normal and lognormal distributions were developed. The assessment of genetic diversity is crucial in citrus improvement programs that represents the relationship among genotypes, thus determining an effective plant breeding program. A molecular assessment of 52 collected citrus accessions based on ISSR and SSR was conducted at the ICSFRI in 2020. Based on 4 ISSR primers and 3 SSR primers, the citrus genotypes were grouped into 6 major clusters. Cluster I has the largest 25 members, while Cluster II, III, IV, V and VI have 5, 2, 2, 4 and 13 accession members, respectively. Members of Cluster I are the majority in the mandarin type with spheroids fruit shape with truncate on the fruit top. Cluster II contains citrus accessions from naturally occurring hybrids, while orange accession members of Cluster III are originally grown in different climates. Cluster IV and V members are connected to a common ancestor, Citrus aurantifolia and Citrus limonia. At the same time, Cluster VI is a pumelo group that contains members of Citrus maxima. Clustering based on molecular markers (ISSR and SSR) resulting in this study is useful in citrus breeding programs in Indonesia and other countries. The objective of this study is to examine the implementation of a combined scheme involving payment environment services (PES) and non-payment environment services (non-PES) in the management of the Cidanau River Basin. This study used exploratory research to analyse the structure and mechanism of PES and non-PES schemes for the governance system. The Cidanau Watershed governance is a pioneer in sustainable integrated water resources management in Indonesia and has persisted until the present time. The governance of the Cidanau Watershed is dynamic, resilient, and evolving in response to various changes in social and ecological systems. A bridging organisation like the Cidanau Watershed Communication Forum (Ind.: Forum Komunikasi DAS Cidanau -- FKDC) requires legal standing to be visible and gain the trust of the public, especially when implementing a PES approach like the Cidanau River Basin, where service buyers utilise non-direct payment mechanisms. The challenging aspect of developing a PES scheme is empowering knowledge regarding the importance of soil and water preservation among upstream communities, particularly in developing countries like Indonesia, where upstream communities are predominantly composed of low-income farmers whose livelihoods depend on nature. The non-PES scheme represents the government's mandatory responsibility, whereas the PES scheme presents public participation in active collaboration through the FKDC as an ad hoc institution. A combination of the non-PES and PES scheme approach can serve as a model and reference for similar river basin governance frameworks. Manilkara zapota (L.), commonly known as sapodilla, is one of the tropical plants originating from Central and South America that is still less popular in Indonesia than banana, citrus, mango. To gain its popularity, it is crucial to review the beneficial uses, existing production status, and propagation techniques of sapodilla. In general, sapodilla is used for either as table fruit or derivative food. Additionally, it contains various bioactivities in its fruit, stem, and leaves, such as antioxidant, antimicrobe, and antitumor activity; thus, it becomes very potential for pharmaceutical purposes. The existing production data of sapodilla determine the West Java Province as the biggest production area in Indonesia, with more than 20% contribution to the national level (38.250 tons annually). In more detail, the top production area at the village level with a local sapodilla cultivar, Sukatali sapodilla, is found in Sukatali village in Situraja Subdistrict, Sumedang District, West Java Province. Sapodilla can be propagated by using both reproductive system and vegetative methods. Vegetative propagation of grafting is commonly used to produce shorter juvenile and uniform seedlings. However, it highly depends upon the grafting type, season, and scion diameter. Literature search on grafting recommended modified cleft grafting in June-July, using Chrysophyllum lanceolatum and Manilkara hexandra as rootstock, and scion with a diameter of 5.02 mm, as the best practice of sapodilla propagation. Background. The Non-Smoking Area is a room or area that is declared prohibited for smoking activities or activities to produce, sell, advertise and/or promote tobacco products. The Regional Regulation on Non-Smoking Areas in Indonesia has been enacted since 2013, including in public places such as restaurants and cafes, but has not yet been fully implemented. The Non-Smoking Area Policy is the best choice to implement in government and private institutions. Objective. This study aimed to determine participation in implementing Non-Smoking Areas in restaurants and cafes in Indonesia. Materials and Methods. This study is a cross-sectional quantitative survey with an analytical survey approach, with a purposive sampling technique of 419 restaurants and cafes, analyzed with the help of the chi-square test and logistic regression. Results. The results showed that age, income, smoking status, knowledge, and attitudes were related to participation in implementing Non-Smoking Areas (P value <0.05). The attitude variable in multivariate logistic regression analysis had the most significant impact (OR: 2,949; 95% CI: 1,716 -5,069), and the smallest effect is the age factor (OR: 0,591; 95% CI: 0,361-0,967). Conclusions. Age, smoking status, income, knowledge, and attitudes regarding Non-Smoking Areas are the factors that contribute to the majority of restaurant and cafe managers in Indonesia not participating in the implementation of Non-Smoking Areas. Therefore, the government should maximize the role of the Non-Smoking Areas task force, socialize and provide awards such as the title of "Breathing Free" restaurant and cafe. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli (EPEC) is a Gram-negative pathogenic bacterium that causes diarrheal disease, especially in infants and children. Aptamers are short chain oligonucleotides that have high affinity, specificity, and selectivity to their targets, which have potential to be developed as a method for diagnosing pathogens. In this study, aptamer was isolated through the Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential Enrichment (SELEX) method using whole cells bacteria (Bacterial-SELEX) for recognizing pathogenic E. coli EPEC K1.1 which was isolated from children with diarrhea in Indonesia. Ten rounds of bacterial-SELEX procedure were conducted with modification conditions by using Top10, DH5a E. coli cells, Listeria monocytogenes, and Lactobacillus plantarum S34 as counter-selections. The selection process was started with a pool of ssDNA random library consisting of a random base with 40-nucleotides long flanked with fixed primers sequence for aptamer amplification purpose. Short single-stranded DNA amplification was done by symmetric and asymmetric PCR. The highly enriched oligonucleotide pools (pooled 8, 9, and 10) were cloned and the resulting ssDNA aptamers were identified by Sanger DNA sequencing. Finally, twelve aptamers with unique sequences and various secondary structures including G-quadruplex sequence motif within aptamers were obtained as candidates specific aptamer for detection and capturing of EPEC K1.1. Giant left atrium (GLA) is a rare condition typically found in patients with rheumatic mitral valve disease. On chest radiographs, this condition often mimics another cause of cardiomegaly. A 52-year-old man was admitted to the hospital with complaints of shortness of breath and orthopnea. Mid-diastolic and grade IV pansystolic murmurs could be heard at the apex radiating to the axilla on cardiac auscultation. The electrocardiogram showed a junctional tachycardia rhythm, while the chest radiograph displayed extreme cardiomegaly with Erlenmeyer-shaped heart. Massive pericardial effusion was suspected. Transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) was then performed, revealing GLA with a left atrial volume index (LAVi) of 1101 ml/m2. Meanwhile, transoesophageal echocardiography (TEE) confirmed calcification of P2 and P3 extending to the border of the mitral leaflet up to one third of the chordae tendineae, with moderate mitral stenosis and eccentric mitral regurgitation jet due to prolapse of A2. The patient was treated with optimal medical therapy while awaiting cardiac surgery. GLA is a rare complication of mitral valve disease and an almost forgotten cause of cardiomegaly. As the fourth most populous country in the world, Indonesia must increase the annual rice production rate to achieve national food security by 2050. One possible solution comes from the nanoscopic level: a genetic variant called Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP), which can express significant yield-associated genes. The prior benchmark of this study utilized a statistical genetics model where no SNP position information and attention mechanism were involved. Hence, we developed a novel deep polygenic neural network, named the NucleoNet model, to address these obstacles. The NucleoNets were constructed with the combination of prominent components that include positional SNP encoding, the context vector, wide models, Elastic Net, and Shannon's entropy loss. This polygenic modeling obtained up to 2.779 of Mean Squared Error (MSE) with 47.156% of Symmetric Mean Absolute Percentage Error (SMAPE), while revealing 15 new important SNPs. Furthermore, the NucleoNets reduced the MSE score up to 32.28% compared to the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) model. Through the ablation study, we learned that the combination of Xavier distribution for weights initialization and Normal distribution for biases initialization sparked more various important SNPs throughout 12 chromosomes. Our findings confirmed that the NucleoNet model was successfully outperformed the OLS model and identified important SNPs to Indonesian rice yields. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are business sectors that can survive during the Indonesia monetary crisis. Even though it is a reliable business sector, MSMEs still faces various obstacles making it challenging to develop. One of the barriers faced is unoptimized organization's performance. Many researchers explain that most MSMEs in Indonesia are family-run businesses. This study examines whether there are differences in entrepreneurial performance by generation in family businesses. The novelty of this study is that, although several researches were studied on small firm performance, yet this is the first study that depicts how the entrepreneurial performance differences based on generation. We distinguish generations into three groups: first generation, second generation, and third generation. Purposive Sampling technique is employed, where 143 MSMEs with family ownership in the Special Region of Yogyakarta are collected. We test our developed hypotheses using One Way ANOVA approach. The results prove that there are differences in entrepreneurial performance by generation. The first generation has better entrepreneurial performance than the next generation. Furthermore, they provide implications to MSME owners with family ownership to be able to prepare for succession well, hence the company can continue to survive for generations. Background: Curriculum renewal requires teachers to always innovate in learning. The teacher can combine various ways as long as it suits the needs and characteristics of learning. The trivium curriculum in ethnomathematics contains the concepts of literacy, matheracy, and technoracy which can be combined with thematic and connected approaches. Ethnomathematics can be used in learning because it contains contextual mathematical concepts that exist in culture. The thematic approach can make students learn several subjects at once in the appropriate theme. Connectedness can make students learn several concepts at once in a subject. The combination can make students learn many things at one time in an integrated and meaningful way because it is based on the culture they know. Objectives: This research is aimed at developing a learning model that combines the trivium curriculum in ethnomathematics, thematic approaches, and connectedness in mathematics. In addition, research was also conducted to determine the quality of the developed model. Methods: The development is carried out using the Plomp model which is limited to four phases (without implementation). The respondents consisted of 15 elementary school lower grade teachers as resource persons for problem identification, two lecturers and two elementary school principals as expert evaluators and practitioners, one teacher and ten 3rd grade students at an elementary school in Banyuwangi as pilot respondents. Data collection was done by interviews, observation, tests, and questionnaires. Data analysis is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Results: The results of the initial investigation show that learning, especially in the lower grades of elementary school, still requires strengthening basic literacy, combines with play activities, learning media, and mother tongue assistance to understand students' learning concepts. The support of several education experts is used to strengthen the results of the investigation so that a learning model can be designed that includes syntax, social systems, reaction principles, support systems, and the impact of learning. Development is carried out based on a design made to produce a learning model along with learning tools. Learning tools are developed by the existing culture in the development area, namely Banyuwangi Indonesia. After the development results are declared valid, practical, and effective by experts and practitioners (content = 4.66, construct = 4.52, = 4.67, and = 4.57), then a trial is carried out to determine the implementation of the learning model. The results show that the learning model developed is practical and effective in being tested in learning (= 4.22, and good criteria on IA). Conclusions: The development resulted in a new model called the Ethnomathematics-Thematic-Connected (ETC) model. based on the assessment of experts and practitioners, the ETC model is declared valid, practical, and effective. Based on the experimental practice, the ETC model is stated to be practical and effective. So that the ETC learning model can be said to have good quality and can be used for learning on a larger scale. Reports from various population-based studies indicate that the incidence of colorectal cancer may be strongly affected by dietary patterns of the respective populations. The nature of dietary patterns of specific Indonesia population on the risk of colorectal cancer might differ from previously published data with the global population. Therefore, we conducted a study where the dietary pattern in colorectal cancer patient cohorts was compared to age- and population-matched control. We documented 89 colorectal cancer cases and among 173 individuals from the South Sulawesi population. A series of logistic regression and Fisher's exact tests were utilized to test associations of dietary intakes and colorectal cancer risk as well as colorectal cancer staging. Our data demonstrate that vegetable (p-value = 8.70 × 10−26, OR = 0.49) and fruit (p-value = 7.59x10−5, OR = 0.70) intakes are associated with the reduced risk of colorectal cancer incidence. Conversely, acidic food, reheated food, meat, spicy food, and alcohol are associated with the increment case of cancer. Moreover, meat intake (p-value < 0.01) shows a significant association with cancer staging progression. Thermal injection methods are usually used for high viscosity oil. The results of previous studies showed that the combination of SF and SFF had the highest increase in oil recovery but still requires further study to determine the optimum strategy. This work is purposed to optimize the development scenario of a combined CSS-SF applied to a heavy oil field located in Sumatera, Indonesia. The recovery factor and NPV become the objective function, and several given and controlled parameters sensitivity toward the objective function are studied. A proxy model based on quadratic multivariate regression is developed to evaluate and get the desired objective function. The reservoir simulation of the thermal recovery process is done using CMG-STARS simulator. The overall workflow of scenario optimization is conducted using CMOST™ module. Optimum development scenario is obtained through maximization of the objective function. Data in the world states that 462 million are underweight, 47 million children under the age of 5 are wasting, 14.3 million are very thin, and 144 million are stunting. Previous study reports about 45% of child deaths <5 years are related to malnutrition--the study aim to analyzing the relationship between poverty and nutritional status of the toddler in Indonesia ecologically. The study used secondary data from the official report of the Indonesia Ministry of Health. The study takes all provinces as samples. Moreover, the study used the percentage of poor people as an independent variable. On the other hand, the researchers analyzed three other variables as dependent variables: the proportion of underweight toddlers, the proportion of stunting toddlers, and the proportion of wasting toddlers. The study examined the data using a scatter plot to determine the relationship. The results show that the greater the percentage of an underweight toddler in a country, the higher the proportion of underweight toddler in that region. Meanwhile, the more significant the proportion of the deprived population in an area, the more considerable proportion of stunting in that area. Moreover, the higher the poor people in the province, the higher the proportion of wasting in that province. This paper concerns the feasibility study of 7 classes of thermal sensation detection in Indonesia's indoor environment using a low-cost thermal camera through face skin temperature. This study is required as an initial step to build a thermal comfort sensor system of HVAC control systems to produce a comfortable indoor environment with minimum and efficient energy use. The feasibility study was started by studying the thermoregulation system of respondents in Indonesia through measuring their body and facial skin temperatures under heating and cooling conditions, including their relationship with thermal sensations. The facial skin temperature variable, which is covered by four measurement points, namely forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin, represents the MST variable by the coefficient of determination of 0.54. The thermal sensation detection algorithm based on Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is 35.7% of accuracy. The thermal sensation questionnaire with 7 class categories is unsuitable for Indonesian respondents, and the number of the category classes predicted too much compared to the number of inputs. The detection algorithm has better accuracy with a smaller number of classes, namely 52.2% and 68.70% for the 5 and 3 classes of thermal sensation. Practical application: The air conditioning buildings system is possible to influence a thermal environmental control system to meet the occupants' thermal comfort level requirement in an indoor environment if the system is equipped with a sensor that can detect the occupants' thermal sensations. Background: The World Health Organization recommends that community health workers (CHWs) receive a mix of financial and non-financial incentives, yet notes that there is limited evidence to support the use of one type of incentive (i.e. financial or non-financial) over another. In preparation for a larger scale trial, we investigated the acceptability and feasibility of two different forms of incentives for CHWs in Malang District, Indonesia. Methods: CHWs working on a cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk screening and management programme in two villages were assigned to receive either a financial or non-financial incentive for 6 months. In the financial incentives village, CHWs (n = 20) received 16,000 IDR (USD 1.1) per patient followed up or 500,000 IDR (USD 34.1) if they followed up 100% of their assigned high-risk CVD patients each month. In the non-financial incentive village, CHWs (n = 20) were eligible to receive a Quality Care Certificate for following up the highest number of high-risk CVD patients each month, awarded in a public ceremony. At the end of the 6-month intervention period, focus group discussions were conducted with CHWs and semi-structured interviews with programme administrators to investigate acceptability, facilitators and barriers to implementation and feasibility of the incentive models. Data on monthly CHW follow-up activity were analysed using descriptive statistics to assess the preliminary impact of each incentive on service delivery outcomes, and CHW motivation levels were assessed pre- and post-implementation. Results: Factors beyond the control of the study significantly interrupted the implementation of the financial incentive, particularly the threat of violence towards CHWs due to village government elections. Despite CHWs reporting that both the financial and non-financial incentives were acceptable, programme administrators questioned the sustainability of the non-financial incentive and reported CHWs were ambivalent towards them. CHW service delivery outcomes increased 17% for CHWs eligible for the non-financial incentive and 21% for CHWs eligible for the financial incentive. There was a statistically significant increase (p < 0.0001) in motivation scores for the performance domain in both villages. Conclusion: It was feasible to deliver both a performance-based financial and non-financial incentive to CHWs in Malang District, Indonesia, and both incentive types were acceptable to CHWs and programme administrators. Evidence of preliminary effectiveness also suggests that both the financial and non-financial incentives were associated with improved motivation and service delivery outcomes. These findings will inform the next phase of incentive design, in which incentive feasibility and preliminary effectiveness will need to be considered alongside their longer-term sustainability within the health system. Colorectal cancer is a common cancer in Indonesia, yet it has been understudied in this resource-constrained setting. We conducted a genome-wide association study focused on evaluation and preliminary discovery of colorectal cancer risk factors in Indonesians. We administered detailed questionnaires and collecting blood samples from 162 colorectal cancer cases throughout Makassar, Indonesia. We also established a control set of 193 healthy individuals frequency matched by age, sex, and ethnicity. A genome-wide association analysis was performed on 84 cases and 89 controls passing quality control. We evaluated known colorectal cancer genetic variants using logistic regression and established a genome-wide polygenic risk model using a Bayesian variable selection technique. We replicate associations for rs9497673, rs6936461 and rs7758229 on chromosome 6; rs11255841 on chromosome 10; and rs4779584, rs11632715, and rs73376930 on chromosome 15. Polygenic modeling identified 10 SNP associated with colorectal cancer risk. This work helps characterize the relationship between variants in the SCL22A3, SCG5, GREM1, and STXBP5-AS1 genes and colorectal cancer in a diverse Indonesian population. Traditional dance is part of a culture that has a deep philosophy and contains various knowledge. Gandrung Jejer Jaran Dawuk (GJJD) dance is a traditional dance from Banyuwangi-Indonesia which is still taught to students in elementary and secondary schools. This study aims to explore the GJJD dance motions carried out singly, identify ethnomathematics in the GJJD dance motions, and determine whether the identified ethnomathematics can be applied to mathematics learning in elementary schools. The method used is a qualitative with ethnographic approach. Research informants are GJJD creators, dance trainers, and the dancers from Banyuwangi who are still actively doing GJJD dance. GJJD dance contains variations of motion that can be classified into : footwork, body, head, and hand motions. The identification of the motion variations obtained shows that there are mathematical concepts, namely : counting numbers in all motions, number pattern in footwork, angle in all motions, and the position of the object based on the compass point in footwork and body motions. The concepts identified are found in mathematics learning in elementary schools. The family's emotional, psychological, and social well-being are influenced by how parent-child relations quality is perceived by each other, both of the child and father, as well as the child and the mother. This study focused on the dyadic analysis of parent-child quality relationships prediction on the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of the family members in Indonesia. The study involved 230 dyads comprised of fathers, mothers, and children who completed the Revised Parent- Child Interaction Questionnaire measuring the parent-child relationship quality and the Mental Health Continuum Short Form (MHC-SF) to measure family well-being. Adopting the actor--partner interdependence model (APIM) and structural equation modeling (SEM) as the statistics technique, the results showed that in general, no partner's effect was found. To be specific, dyadic relations between father and child showed an actor's effect influencing their well-being. On the other hand, the dyadic relations between child and mother showed neither the actor's effect nor the partner's effect on their well-being. Recently there has been an interest in predicting complex disease risk using models that combine the effects of many genetic factors together. These are known as polygenic models and are useful in evaluating risk of disease in patients. These models, however, often do not include important non-genetic factors that are important to the prediction of the disease. In this paper, we explore the prediction of colorectal cancer in Indonesia from non-genetic factors using common machine learning algorithms: XGBoost and Elastic Net. The result of this study identified 8 features with strong importance from both XGBoost and Elastic Net. We recommend including these features as covariates in future genetic association studies of colorectal cancer in Indonesia. Mechanical shoot manipulations through bending and defoliation were applied on mandarin citrus cv. Borneo Prima in order to stimulate flushing and flowering during the rainy season, Oct. 2016-July 2017 in the tropical lowland of Indonesia. Four-year-old citrus trees were treated with bending, defoliation and its combination; and were replicated ten times with single tree as an experimental unit. All manipulated shoots exhibited rapid flushing, particularly of those with defoliation. Unfortunately, no flower was produced on trees treated with defoliation or its combination. Bending stimulated a larger number of flowering and fruiting trees than control. Flower drop was lower in bending, resulted in higher number of fruitset and fruitlets than control. At the generative stage, mandarin showed high C/N ratio due to low nitrogen content, irrespective of treatment. The failure to produce flower on defoliation and its combination could be ascertained by steady C/N ratio. Overall, bending could be applied to improve flowering and support sustainable mandarin production in tropical condition, especially at lowland production fields in Indonesia. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Heterologous protein expression has been used in attemp to increase bacteriocins yields by less laborius process. In this study, the plnEF genes (530 bp) encoding plantaricin S34 have been identified and cloned to pGEMTeasy s vector. Plantaricin S34 gene had 99% similarity with all those plnEF locus of Lactobacillus references strain aligned. Furthermore, plnE peptide of plantaricin S34 had unique one amino acid substitution at position 33 (lysine > cysteine), while two amino acids were substituted at position 14 (alanine > serine) and 42 (valine > isoleucine) appeared on plnF peptide. PCR amplification of mature fragment of plnE and plnF gene produced the bands with length of approximatly 102 bp and 105 bp respectively. Moreover, Both of fused recombinant plnE and plnF peptide have been expressed heterologously in E. coli as protein fusion with thioredoxin-(His)6tag with given molecular mass of approximatly 21 kDa for each peptides. Overall, the partial operon of plnEFI loci of L. plantarum S34 has been characterizied and the plnEF genes that composed this operon was successfully cloned and produced as hetelogous recombinant peptides. Entrepreneurship has been one of the biggest growth topics in the past decades. Some entrepreneurs engage in socially active activities that are strongly embedded in their entrepreneurial activities and are known as social entrepreneurship. This research maps the presence of social enterprises in Indonesia by investigating the personal and organizational contexts of the social entrepreneurs. Qualitative research was conducted by engaging in in-depth interviews with 8 social enterprises in Indonesia. The findings of this research result in a unique and interesting map of the presence of the social entrepreneurs that contributes significantly to the extant literatures of social entrepreneurship. Abstract: To increase share of renewable in energy mix and to increase decentralized nature of the energy system, Yogyakarta needs to improve energy technology applications that utilize a variety of local renewable energy resources. In this spirit, this paper describes examples that demonstrate challenges in the application of small-scale renewable energy installations based on bio-energy, hydropower and small-scale photovoltaics system in Yogyakarta. Discussion was focused on the challenges of benefit sustainability in utilizing renewable energy technologies. The study was conducted on three biodig2ester systems based on cattle waste: two systems utilizing waste from tofu small industry and a system using human faeces. From socio-cultural point of view, the study showed tendency of willingness of local community to use biogas instead of fossil-based energy and indication of the willingness of local community to run and maintain existing biodigester systems. However, there was still lack of proper operation and maintenance standard. The study showed that three cattle manure-based biodigester could reach 91%, 78% and 85% of theoretical level respectively. Two biodigester systems based on tofu industry waste achieved 72.78% and 0%, respectively, while the human faeces biodigester reached level of 95.6%. Furthermore, it was shown that six biodigester systems studied were unable to meet economic feasibility criteria. Study was also conducted on a micro-hydro power plant built in Van Der Wick irrigation channel. The power plant was of 11kW installed capacity. The study was focused on debris being blocked by trash rack and its influence on the power plant''s performance. The result showed that the debris accumulation could lead to blockage of the trash rack that could, in turn, decrease water discharge flowing into intake of the power plant. In one observation during the study, the power plant even stopped working in less than four hours due to total trash rack blockage. Meanwhile, another set of detail study was also conducted on 20 of 60 solar home systems (SHSs) which were in operation for two years. They were distributed and installed by the government of Yogyakarta to districts of the province as a grant. The SHSs are of 50 Wp and are designed to power three lights. The study showed that all SHS under study could, in average, only achieve 68.05% of designed performance level. Besides, the problems in solar panels, wiring, inverter and light ballast were also found. The last one occurred in 50% of SHSs under study. Principle of the holistic framework of the technology diffusion and the supporting network should be implemented to keep benefit of small scale renewable energy infrastructures in Yogyakarta sustain. Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the distribution of hepatitis C virus (HCV) genotype and the possible association between genotype and HCV-associated liver disease in Indonesia. Methods: 32 anti-HCV-positive asymptomatic carriers (AC), 55 chronic hepatitis (CH), 41 liver cirrhosis (LC), and 35 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients were included in this study. HCV genotyping was performed by phylogenetic analysis of the NS5B and 5′-UTR regions. Results: The HCV subtype 1b (36.5%), based on NS5B region, was the most prevalent, followed by subtypes 3k (15.4%), 2a (14.4%), 1a (12.5%) and 1c (12.5%), and 2e (4.8%). Subtypes 2f, 3a, 3b, and 4a were also found in some of the samples. HCV subtypes 3k (40.0%) and 1a (35.0%) were the two major subtypes in AC. HCV subtype 1b was not found in AC, but it was common in CH (31.3%), LC (50.0%), and HCC (57.1%). Conclusion: HCV subtype 1b was prevalent in samples of HCV-associated liver disease patients, including CH, LC and HCC.
