Adolescence is a critical period during which youth develop and shape their behaviors. Because differences between youths are strongly connected to environmental factors, we aimed to elucidate possible pathways from home-school regulation and atmosphere to youths' prosocial and antisocial behaviors. Data were derived from the China Education Panel Survey. This study involved a total of 9291 students aged 14-15 years (4834 boys, 4457 girls). We used structural equation modeling (SEM) with LISREL 8.80 and Monte Carlo resampling with R to conduct the analysis strategy. In the home-school regulation, parental supervision on the one hand and teacher criticism on the other hand have direct positive and negative predictive effects on youths' prosocial behaviors, respectively, while their direct effects on antisocial behavior are the opposite; teachers praise does not directly affect adolescents' prosocial and antisocial behaviors. In the home-school atmosphere, family interaction and perceived good class climate directly positively affect youths' prosocial behaviors, while the direct effects of both on antisocial behavior are not significant. The SEM results reveal that academic self-efficacy and depressive symptoms may be underlying mediating mechanisms through which home-school regulation and atmosphere during adolescence affect students' prosocial and antisocial behaviors. Intervention programs targeting home-school supportive environments and prevention programs targeting positive emotion and self-awareness may yield benefits for proper social behavior in adolescents. For example, by enhancing the way and frequency of parent-child interaction, teachers and students jointly create a good class climate of care and friendship to strengthen a home-school supportive environment. Background: Social factors play an important role in adolescents' behaviors. This study aims to understand percentages of health risk behaviors across country in Europe, North America, and China; explore the associations between friendly school and family contexts and involvement for several health risk behaviors among adolescents. Methods: Data derived from health behavior in school-aged children cross-sectional surveys and China Education Panel Survey in 2014-2015. Hierarchical generalized linear modeling was used to analyze data. Results: The highest percentages of health risk behaviors including unhealthy diet, smoking or alcohol, screen-based sedentary behaviors, and violent behaviors across country ranged from 28.62% to 65.24%. National classmate friendliness was negatively associated with 5 out of 9 health risk behaviors prevalence rates in 41 countries (p < 0.05). Adolescents' perceived peer friendly and helpful were common protective factor for engaging in several health risk behaviors (p < 0.01). Individual family contexts were associated with 3 types of health risk behaviors involvement (p < 0.001). School health policy implications: Health risk behaviors among adolescents reducing was associated with the implementation of friendly school and family contexts, emphasizing the significance of the goals of embedding friendly adolescents, along with the home-school collaboration. Conclusions: Public health strategies should promote national climate of friendship and individual perceived friendly school contexts to reduce health risk behaviors.

With the advent of climate change and the 5 G era, online communities are increasingly becoming the main medium for information dissemination after emergencies such as natural disasters. The widespread dissemination of negative online information may generate cyber violence or lead to serious adverse psychological outcomes. This study considered a natural disaster event involving avoidable deaths and child casualties as an example to identify emotional contagion and conduct simulation interventions. Data about the aftermath of the 8·13 flash flood in the Longcaogou Scenic Area, Sichuan Province, China, were derived from the Chinese Sina microblog. We analyzed key parameters and modeled them in a dynamic model. We further evaluated the effects of implementing intervention measures (such as transmission path interruption and changing the number of different emotions) on emotional spread. The overall sentiment of posters after this flood was negative, with three epidemic peaks. Negative emotions were more persistent and contagious than positive emotions. Reducing the number of negative blog posts by half could have led to a 14.97% reduction in negative comments and a 7.17% reduction in positive comments. Simultaneously, reducing the number of negative blog posts and increasing the number of positive posts would have helped reduce the relative ratio of negative to positive comments. The findings have theoretical and practical implications for developing an emotional contagion model and formulating intervention strategies to guide public opinion after an emergency that involves extensive online debate. The Northeastern China cold vortex (NCCV) is one type of strong cyclonic vortex that occurs near Northeastern China (NEC), and NCCV activities are typically accompanied by a series of hazardous weather. This paper employed an automatic algorithm to identify the NCCVs from 1979 to 2018 and analyzed their circulation patterns and climatic impacts by using the defined NCCV intensity index (NCCVI). The analysis revealed that the NCCV activities in summer exhibited a strong inter-annual variability, with an obvious periodicity of 3-4 years and 6-7 years, but without significant trends. In years when the NCCVI was high, NEC experienced negative geopotential height anomalies, cyclonic circulation, and cooler temperature anomalies, which were conducive to the maintenance and development of NCCV activities. Furthermore, large amounts of water vapor converged in NEC through two transportation routes as the NCCVs intensified, leading to a significant positive (negative) correlation with the summer precipitation (surface temperature) in NEC. The Atlantic sea surface temperature (SST) anomalies were closely related to summer NCCV activities. As the Atlantic SST rose, large amounts of surface sensible and latent heat flux were transported into the lower troposphere, inducing a positive geopotential height anomaly that occurred on the east side of the heat source. As a result, an eastward diverging flow was formed in the upper troposphere and propagated downstream, i.e., the eastward propagating Rossby wave train, which eventually led to a coupled circulation in the Ural Mountains and NEC, as well as more intensive NCCV activities in summer. This study aimed to determine the current epidemiological status of PLWHA aged ≥ 50 years in China from 2018 to 2021. It also aimed to recommend targeted interventions for the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS in elderly patients. Data on newly reported cases of PLWHA, aged ≥ 50 years in China from 2018 to 2021, were collected using the CRIMS. Trend tests and spatial analyses were also conducted. Between 2018 and 2021, 237,724 HIV/AIDS cases were reported among patients aged ≥ 50 years in China. The main transmission route was heterosexual transmission (91.24%). Commercial heterosexual transmission (CHC) was the primary mode of transmission among males, while non-marital non-CHC ([NMNCHC]; 60.59%) was the prevalent route in women. The proportion of patients with CHC decreased over time (Z = 67.716, P < 0.01), while that of patients with NMNCHC increased (Z = 153.05, P < 0.01). The sex ratio varied among the different modes of infection, and it peaked at 17.65 for CHC. The spatial analysis indicated spatial clustering, and the high-high clustering areas were mainly distributed in the southwestern and central-southern provinces. In China, PLWHA, aged ≥ 50 years, were predominantly infected through heterosexual transmission. The primary modes of infection were CHC and NMNCHC. There were variations in the sex ratio among different age groups, infected through various sexual behaviors. HIV/AIDS cases exhibited spatial clustering. Based on these results, the expansion of HIV testing, treatment, and integrated behavioral interventions in high-risk populations is recommended to enhance disease detection in key regions. The International Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) issued a new version of the general rules on food hygiene in 2020, which revised and improved the structure, definition and technical contents of the standard, clarified the important role of good hygiene practices in food safety management, and emphasized the advantages of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCPL) in dealing with more complex food safety issues. It also added the latest achievements of standardization research in the field of food safety in recent years, such as allergen control and food safety culture. By comparing the new version of the standard with the 2003 edition of general principles of food hygiene, this paper expounds and analyzes the main changes of the new version of the standard in detail, so as to provide reference for the formulation and implementation of food-related standards in China. Background: Osteochondral injuries (OCIs) are common in patients with acute lateral patellar dislocation, which can produce both short- and long-;term adverse effects. However, the pattern of these injuries warrants further analysis, especially in relation to patient age. Purpose: To determine the overall prevalence of concomitant OCIs as well as the prevalence differences based on location and age after acute lateral patellar dislocations. Study design: Systematic review; Level of evidence, 4. Methods: A comprehensive search of PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library was completed from inception to July 20, 2022. All articles reporting the prevalence of OCI were included. The sample characteristics such as age, study design, magnetic resonance imaging diagnostic data, and the number of patients with OCI were extracted. The Methodological Index for Non-Randomized Studies (MINORS) was used for quality assessment. The overall and per-;site injury rates were calculated, and the prevalence was stratified by age-;group (≤16 and >16 years) and compared. Results: The systematic review included 39 studies involving 3354 patients. MINORS scores were 11.94 ± 1.98 and 16 ± 3.46 in the noncomparative and comparative studies, respectively. The overall prevalence of bone bruises and OCI was 89.6% (95% CI, 77.4%-97.7%) and 48.8% (95% CI, 39.0%-58.7%), respectively. In both overall and >16-year-old patients, the lateral femoral condyle (LFC) was the most common site of bone bruise (90.5% [95% CI, 84.0%-95.6%] and 91.5% [95% CI, 84.3%-96.9%], respectively); however, the medial patellar bruise was more common in patients ≤16 years (89.2% [95% CI, 82.9%-94.4%]). Among the pooled sites of OCI, the medial patella accounted for the largest proportion (36.9% [95% CI, 28.0%-46.3%]). OCIs were more common in patients >16 years (52.6% [95% CI, 39.4%-65.6%]) than in patients ≤16 years (46.6% [95% CI, 33.2%-60.3%]). Conclusion: Bone bruises on the LFC were most prevalent overall and in patients >16 years, whereas bone bruises on the medial patella were more prevalent in patients ≤16 years. The mine roadway built in the same thick rock stratum will not change the lithologic medium in front of the roadway under the influence of the small structure of the mine, which makes the mine radar face many difficulties in structural interpretation. In the coal measure strata in southwest China, the coal seam roof is the weak aquifer of the Kayitou (T1k) group. The mine structure is the excellent drainage boundary of an aquifer, resulting in the water content of the structural belt being different from that of the surrounding rock. This paper proposes a method to identify hidden structures in mine roadways using the autoregressive and moving average power spectrum energy enveloping medium water content inversion technique. Based on the actual water content of strata in the study area, 48 roadway models are constructed. The finite‐difference time‐domain algorithm was used to obtain the forward data and calculate the volumetric water content of the model. The structure of the roadway model is accurately identified by the water content difference. In the numerical simulation study, the segmentation frequency of high‐frequency and low‐frequency envelope of the autoregressive and moving average spectrum of 100‐MHz radar antenna is determined to be 155 MHz, and the value range of water content calculation regulation parameter k is determined. The high‐ and low‐frequency envelope inversion characteristics of the autoregressive and moving average spectrum of different tunnel media models are summarized and analysed. To solve the calculation problem of energy envelope selection of autoregressive and moving average power spectrum of engineering data, the k‐nearest neighbour machine learning algorithm was used to learn and classify the power spectrum features of different tunnel models. The detection application is analysed through the whole‐rock medium and coal and rock medium roadway in the study area. INTRODUCTION Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) may have special advantages in facilitating smoking cessation, but consensus on effectiveness is lacking. We aim to comprehensively review, update, and refine current evidence on TCM effectiveness and safety. METHODS Nine databases were searched from their inception up to 28 February 2023. Systematic reviews (SRs) and meta-analysis of TCM for smoking cessation were identified and retrieved. Additional databases and hand searches of RCTs from included SRs were performed for data pooling. Cochrane ROB tools and AMSTAR-2 were used to evaluate the methodological quality of RCTs and SRs, respectively. RCT data are presented as relative risks (RR) or mean differences (MD) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) using RevMan 5.4. RESULTS Thirteen SRs involving 265 studies with 33081 participants were included. Among these 265 studies, 157 were duplicates (58.36%) and 52 were non-RCTs (19.62%). Combined with the remaining 56 RCTs identified through hand searches, 88 RCTs involving 12434 participants were finally included for data synthesis. All the SRs focused on acupoint stimulation, and the majority were of low or very low quality. The methodological quality of RCTs was either unclear or high risk. For continuous abstinence rate, TCM external interventions were better than placebo in 6 months to 1 year (RR=1.60; 95% CI: 1.14-2.25; I²=27%; n=5533 participants). Compared with placebo, TCM external application was effective in reducing nicotine withdrawal symptoms, and the effect was gradually stable and obvious in the fourth week (MD= -4.46; 95% CI: -5.43 -- -3.49; n=165 participants). Twelve RCTs reported adverse events as outcome indicators for safety evaluation, and no serious adverse events occurred. CONCLUSIONS Despite the methodological limitations of the original studies, our review suggests that TCM intervention shows potential effectiveness on the continuous abstinence rate. Extending the intervention time can enhance the effect of TCM on nicotine withdrawal symptoms. Referred to adverse events, more data for safety evaluation are required. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The current treatment options for epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutation-positive lung cancer in the elderly with tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) resistance are limited. Although chemotherapy combined with vascular endothelial growth factor inhibitors significantly improves progression-free survival (PFS) in TKI-resistant patients, it often cannot be tolerated in elderly patients, leading to treatment failure. Anlotinib is a small molecule inhibitor made in China. The application of low-dose anlotinib in elderly patients with TKI-resistant lung cancer deserves further investigation. A total of 48 elderly patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) were enrolled to evaluate the efficacy of anlotinib combined with continuous EGFR-TKI vs. anlotinib monotherapy in patients with acquired EGFR-TKI resistance. Anlotinib was administered at a dose of 6-8 mg per day, lower than the normal dose and known as a low dose, which is well tolerated in elderly patients. There were 25 cases in the combination group and 23 cases in the anlotinib monotherapy group. The primary endpoint of the present study was PFS, and the secondary endpoints were overall survival (OS), response rate and toxicity. The median PFS (mPFS) was significantly longer in the combination group than that in the anlotinib monotherapy group: 6.0 months [95% confidence interval (CI), 4.35-7.65] compared with 4.0 months (95% CI, 3.38-4.62) (P=0.002). Analysis of the subgroups showed similar trends in results. The median OS was 32 months (95% CI, 22.04-41.96) in the combination group and 28 months (95% CI, 27.13-28.87) in the anlotinib monotherapy group (P=0.217). According to stratification analysis, second-line treatment with anlotinib combined with EGFR-TKI resulted in a better mPFS than third-line treatment (7.5 vs. 3.7 months, HR=3.477; 95% CI, 1.117-10.820; P=0.031). In the combination group, patients with gradual/local progression after EGFR-TKI failure had a longer mPFS than those with dramatic progression (7.5 vs. 6.0 months, HR=5.875; 95% CI, 1.414-10.460; P=0.015). Multivariate analyses showed that continuous EGFR-TKI combined with anlotinib after EGFR-TKI resistance was associated with longer PFS (P=0.019), whereas dramatic progression (P=0.014) had a detrimental effect on follow-up treatment. Grade 2 adverse events (AEs) were reported in four patients (17.39%) in the anlotinib monotherapy group and eight patients (32.00%) in the combination group. Of these, the most common grade 2 AEs were hypertension, fatigue, diarrhea, paronychia, mucositis and transaminase elevation. There were no grade 3/4/5 AEs. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that low-dose anlotinib combined with EGFR-TKI is superior to anlotinib alone following EGFR-TKI failure, making it the preferred regimen for elderly patients with acquired EGFR-TKI resistance. Background: Lung cancer (LC) is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Tumor marker (TM) detection can indicate the existence and growth of a tumor and has therefore been used extensively for diagnosing LC. Here, we conducted a bibliometric analysis to examine TM-related publica- tions for LC diagnosis to illustrate the current state and future trends of this field, as well as to identify additional promising TMs with high sensitivity. Methods: Publications regarding TMs in LC diagnosis were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace was applied to perform a bibliometric analysis of journals, cocitation authors, keywords, and references related to this field. VOSviewer was used to generate concise diagrams about countries, institutions, authors, and keywords. Changes in the TM research frontier were analyzed through citation burst detection. Results: A total of 990 studies were analyzed in this work. The collaboration network analysis revealed that the People's Republic of China, Yonsei University, and Molina R were the most productive country, institution, and scholar, respectively. Additionally, Molina R was the author with the most citations. The National Natural Science Foundation of China was the largest funding source. "Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) as tumor marker in lung cancer" was the top reference with the most citations, Lung Cancer was the core journal, and "serum tumor marker" experienced a citation burst over the past 5 years. Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis of TMs in LC diagnosis presents the current trends and frontiers in this field. We summarized the research status of this field and the methods to improve the diagnostic efficacy of traditional serum TMs, as well as provided new directions and ideas for improving the LC clinical detection rate. Priority should be given to the transformation of computer-assisted diagnostic technology for clinical applications. Holding large conferences and events usually encourages the corresponding government to upgrade the host city. For this process, incorporating additional costs to increase accessibility for the elderly is a feasible means for a city to develop in an age-friendly manner. Providing evidence-based reports to policy makers is conducive to implementing the policies of age-friendly cities. This study used the scenario method to simulate the effect of promoting the "age-friendly cities" strategy on residents' psychological capital and social engagement (SE). We found that promoting the construction of age-friendly cities can significantly improve residents' psychological capital and SE and that residents from all age groups can benefit. Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics and HLA genotypes of patients with immune checkpoint inhibitor-associated diabetes mellitus (ICI-DM) in China. Methods: We enrolled 23 patients with ICI-DM and 51 patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D). Clinical characteristics of the patients were collected. HLA-DRB1, HLA-DQA1, and HLA-DQB1 genotyping was conducted via next-generation sequencing. Results: The ICI-DM patients had a male predominance (70.6%), a mean body mass index (BMI) of 21.2 ± 3.5 kg/m², and a mean onset of ICI-DM in 5 (IQR, 3-9) cycles after ICI therapy. Most (78.3%) ICI-DM patients were treated with anti-PD-1, 78.3% presented with diabetic ketoacidosis, and all had low C-peptide levels and received multiple insulin injections. Compared to T1D patients, ICI-DM patients were significantly older (57.2 ± 12.4 vs 34.1 ± 15.7 years) and had higher blood glucose but lower HbA1c levels (P<0.05). Only two (8.7%) ICI-DM patients were positive for islet autoantibodies, which was lower than that in T1D patients (66.7%, P<0.001). A total of 59.1% (13/22) of ICI-DM patients were heterozygous for an HLA T1D risk haplotype, and DRB1*0901-DQA1*03-DQB1*0303 (DR9) and DRB1*0405-DQA1*03-DQB1*0401 were the major susceptible haplotypes. Compared to T1D, the susceptible DR3-DQA1*0501-DQB1*0201 (DR3) and DR9 haplotypes were less frequent (17.7% vs 2.3%; P=0.011 and 34.4% vs 15.9%; P=0.025), whereas the protective haplotypes (DRB1*1101-DQA1*05-DQB1*0301 and DRB1*1202-DQA1*0601-DQB1*0301) were more frequent in ICI-DM patients (2.1% vs 13.6%; P=0.006 and 4.2% vs 15.9%; P=0.017). None of the ICI-DM patients had T1D-associated high-risk genotypes DR3/DR3, DR3/DR9, and DR9/DR9. Among the 23 ICI-DM patients, 7 (30.4%) presented with ICI-associated fulminant type 1 diabetes (IFD), and 16 (69.6%) presented with ICI-associated type 1 diabetes (IT1D). Compared to IT1D patients, IFD patients exhibited marked hyperglycemia and low C-peptide and HbA1c levels (P<0.05). Up to 66.7% (4/6) of IFD patients were heterozygous for reported fulminant type 1 diabetes susceptibility HLA haplotypes (DRB1*0405-DQB1*0401 or DRB1*0901-DQB1*0303). Conclusion: ICI-DM shares similar clinical features with T1D, such as acute onset, poor islet function and insulin dependence. However, the lack of islet autoantibodies, the low frequencies of T1D susceptibility and high frequencies of protective HLA haplotypes indicate that ICI-DM represents a new model distinct from classical T1D. In the revision on the genus Impatiens L. in China, we found that there were synonyms amongst some species. Impatiens procumbens Franch. morphologically resembled I. reptans Hook.f., I. crassiloba Hook.f., I. ganpiuana Hook.f., I. atherosepala Hook.f. and I. rhombifolia Y.Q.Lu & Y.L.Chen. After a thorough morphological study, based on original literature, type specimens and field surveys, it was found that the above six species of Impatiens had no substantial differences in morphological characters and there was continuity in geographical distribution. Therefore, we determined that I. reptans, I. crassiloba, I. ganpiuana, I. atherosepala and I. rhombifolia are the synonyms of I. procumbens. At the same time, we present the color photographs, supplementary descriptions of morphology, and geographical distribution. The lectotype of I. procumbens and I. reptans are also designated here. Aims and objectives: To establish an early warning model of hepatic encephalopathy in patients with liver cirrhosis based on psychological testing. Methods: Data including patient demographics, number connection test‐A (NCT‐A), digit symbol test (DST), Model for End‐Stage Liver Disease (MELD) scores were collected for patients admitted to a tertiary hospital in Shanghai with liver cirrhosis between January and December 2019. Patients were divided into two groups based on the development of hepatic encephalopathy (the hepatic encephalopathy group and non‐hepatic encephalopathy group). Risk factors for hepatic encephalopathy in patients with liver cirrhosis were determined by using the binary logistic regression. We developed a predictive model in accordance with the STARD statement criteria (Supplementary File S1) with a cut‐off value determined by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis and calculation of the Youden index. Results: A total of 417 patients with liver cirrhosis were included in the present study. Of these, 33 out of 66 patients with abnormal psychological tests had hepatic encephalopathy during hospitalisation. In contrast, 6 out of 317 patients with normal psychological tests had hepatic encephalopathy. Logistic regression analysis identified age, MELD score, and abnormal psychological tests as risk factors for hepatic encephalopathy in patients with liver cirrhosis. The area under the ROC curve for our prediction model for hepatic encephalopathy in patients with liver cirrhosis was 0.950 and the largest calculated Youden index was 0.804, which corresponds to a cut‐off value is 0.0307. Conclusion: Greater age, higher MELD score and abnormal psychological tests were significantly associated with increased risk of hepatic encephalopathy indicating early warning systems and identification of abnormal psychological tests are important components of the clinical nursing care process for cirrhotic patients. Our early warning model based on psychological testing can provide a basis for nursing observation and prevention of hepatic encephalopathy. Relevance to clinical practice: Risk assessments for hepatic encephalopathy according to liver function and psychological tests, in addition to traditional neurological observations and dietary guidance, have utility in decreasing the incidence of hepatic encephalopathy. Purpose: The association between maternal vitamin D concentrations and birth weight is controversial. We conducted a large-scale retrospective cohort study in southern China to explore this relationship. Methods: From July 2017 to April 2019, we enrolled 10,586 pregnant women and measured serum vitamin D [via 25-hydroxyvitamin D, 25(OH)D] in the second trimester using electrochemiluminescence immunoassays. The association between macrosomia and 25(OH)D was analyzed using logistic regression and ROC curve. Results: Average vitamin D concentration was 61.1 ± 20.2 nmol/L. Additionally, 31.1% participants had 25(OH)D concentrations <50.0 nmol/L, while 68.9% exhibited concentrations ≥50.0 nmol/L. Of the subjects, 3.2% of women delivered macrosomic infants (neonatal birth weight ≥4000 g) and 96.8% did not. The macrosomia group had lower vitamin D concentrations than the non-macrosomia group (59.5 ± 22.3 vs. 61.2 ± 20.1, p < .05). Approximately a third of each group had vitamin D < 50.0 nmol/L (non-macrosomia, 31.3%; macrosomia, 35.9%; p = .055). After adjusting for confounding variables, women with 25(OH)D ≥ 50.0 nmol/L had 24.3% lower macrosomia risk than women with 25(OH)D < 50.0 nmol/L (adjusted OR = 0.757, 95% CI = 0.599–0.956, p = .0193). The predictive accuracy of vitamin D concentrations for evaluating macrosomia risk was 0.667 area under the ROC curve. Conclusion: Maternal vitamin D levels are negatively correlated with macrosomia. Hyperactivation of Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) or interleukin-2-inducible T cell kinase (ITK) has been attributed to the pathogenesis of B-cell lymphoma or T-cell leukemia, respectively, which suggests that Bruton's tyrosine kinase and interleukin-2-inducible T cell kinase are critical targets for the treatment of hematological malignancies. We identified a novel third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) inhibitor, ASK120067 (limertinib) in our previous research, which has been applied as a new drug application against non-small cell lung cancer in China. In this work, we found that ASK120067 displayed potent in vitro inhibitory efficacy against Bruton's tyrosine kinase protein and interleukin-2-inducible T cell kinase protein via covalent binding. In cell-based assays, ASK120067 dose-dependently suppressed Bruton's tyrosine kinase phosphorylation and exhibited anti-proliferation potency by inducing apoptosis in numerous B-lymphoma cells. Meanwhile, it caused growth arrest and induced the apoptosis of T-cell leukemia cells by attenuating interleukin-2-inducible T cell kinase activation. Oral administration of ASK120067 led to significant tumor regression in B-cell lymphoma and T-cell leukemia xenograft models by weakening Bruton's tyrosine kinase and interleukin-2-inducible T cell kinase signaling, respectively. By collecting the daily visit data of each 5A scenic spot in China from January 1 to March 31, 2020, this paper adopted a two-way fixed-effects model to calibrate the effects of government restriction and risk perception during the pandemic. Results show that a 1% increase in government restriction level led to a 0.806% decrease in daily tourist attraction demand, while a 1% rise in individuals' risk perception resulted in a 0.084% decline. A plethora of environmental risk factors has been persistently implicated in the pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), including metal/metalloids. This study aimed to examine potential associations between cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) metal/metalloids and ALS risks. CSF concentrations of copper (Cu), nickel (Ni), mercury (Hg), arsenic (As), manganese (Mn), and iron (Fe) in ALS (spinal- and bulbar-onset) patients and controls were measured using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Results from this study revealed marked differences between control, spinalonset, and bulbar-onset groups. We report that Cu levels were lower in the ALS and spinal-onset groups compared to the control group. Ni level were higher in the spinal-onset group compared to the control and bulbaronset groups. In addition, associations between CSF metal/metalloid levels with disease severity, sex, and serum triglycerides were also examined to broach the potential relevance of neurotoxic metal/metalloids in ALS disease heterogeneity. Combining games with mobile commerce applications has been a trend in recent years. Mobile commerce is attracting a large number of people, especially females, to play mini games on the platform. The gamification of mobile commerce may affect users’ platform satisfaction. This study aims to explore the intention of female users to play mobile commerce games and its impact on platform satisfaction. We collected data from females in China who played mobile commerce games and then used a structural equation model to test the various hypotheses we made. The results showed that game use intention fully mediated the impact of performance expectation, hedonic motivation, and social influence on platform satisfaction. Effort expectation had no significant impact on game use intention but had a positive impact on platform satisfaction. Game use intention had a positive impact on platform satisfaction. The frequency of playing games and the amount of money spent on the platform were positively correlated with game use intention. Females over 25 years old preferred to play mobile commerce games. This study provides a theoretical reference and practical enlightenment and makes a specific contribution to the development of mobile commerce platform and the application of gamification. Inula cappa is a commonly used medicine in the Miao area of Guizhou Province in China. We established an in vitro inflammatory model of mouse macrophage RAW264.7 cells to study the different pharmacokinetics of five anti-inflammatory active ingredients in the I. cappa extract namely luteolin (LUT), chlorogenic acid (CA), cryptochlorogenic acid (CCA), 3,4-dicaffeoylquinic acid (3,4-DCQA) and 4,5-dicaffeoylquinic acid (4,5-DCQA), in a normal and an inflammatory cell model. First, RAW264.7 cells were treated in vitro with l μg/mL lipopolysaccharide (LPS) for 24 h to establish an inflammatory cell model. Then, the pharmacokinetic characteristics of the five ingredients were compared in normal and inflammatory cells after treatment with 200 μg/ml and 800 μg/ml of I. cappa extracts. After treatment with 1 μg/ml LPS for 24 h, the volume of RAW264.7 cells was increased, the morphology was changed, the antennae were obvious, and the secretion of inflammatory factors nitric oxide and TNF-α was increased. The pharmacokinetics results showed that the five ingredients in normal and inflammatory cells exhibited an increase in Cmax and AUC values with increasing doses, and the Cmax and AUC values of five ingredients were positively correlated with the extract concentration. Each of these five ingredients presented nonlinear pharmacokinetic characteristics. After treatment with 200 μg/ml of I. cappa extract, the uptake of five ingredients increased in inflammatory cells, Tmax was prolonged, MRT and t1/2 were prolonged, and CL_F and Vz_F were decreased, while after treatment with 800 μg/ml of I. cappa extract, the uptake of five ingredients decreased, Tmax was prolonged, absorption was faster, and MRT and t1/2 were prolonged. The five analyzed components in I. cappa extract exerted different effects on normal cells and LPS-induced inflammatory cells. Compared to normal cells, the uptake of five ingredients in inflammatory cells was faster and the AUC and Cmax values increased with increasing doses, showing a dose-dependent nonlinear pharmacokinetic profile. Background/Purpose: Metabolic associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) was proposed as a new definition to put emphasis on the metabolic aspects of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). We aim to compare the cardiovascular and renal burden between MAFLD and NAFLD patients. Methods: 12183 participants were enrolled in East China. The cardiovascular burden (Framingham risk score and previous cardiovascular diseases (CVD)) and renal burden (eGFR and chronic kidney disease (CKD)) were measured. Results: The risk of hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, overweight/obesity, and central obesity of MAFLD patients were higher than those of NAFLD. Patients with MAFLD have a similar or higher beta coefficients in Framingham risk score [beta (95%CI): male 0.062 (0.055,0.069) vs 0.041 (0.033,0.048); female 0.014 (0.012,0.016) vs 0.012 (0.01,0.014)], and higher odds ratio in previous CVD [odds ratio (95%CI): male 1.50 (1.22,1.85) vs 1.35 (1.1,1.66); female 1.58 (1.33,1.87) vs 1.45 (1.22,1.72)], compared with those with NAFLD. However, compared with males with MAFLD, the odds ratio of CKD was higher in those with NAFLD [eGFR: -2.731 (-3.422, -2.041) vs-3.578 (-4.268, -2.887). CKD: 1.44 (1.05,1.96) vs 1.56 (1.14,2.12)]. In female, CKD was only marginally associated with NAFLD [0.8 (0.62,1.02), P=0.075], but not MAFLD [0.87 (0.68,1.11), P=0.268]. Background: To evaluate the long‐term outcomes after surgical resection for stage I lung adenocarcinoma based on the percentage of lepidic component (LC) and invasive tumor size (IS). Methods: The clinicopathological characteristics of 1049 patients with stage I lung adenocarcinoma who underwent surgery between 2006 and 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. Tumors were categorized into groups: A (LC ≥ 50%) and B (LC < 50%). Groups A0 and A1 consisted of minimally invasive adenocarcinomas (MIA) and other lepidic‐predominant invasive adenocarcinomas, respectively. Group B was categorized into B1 (IS ≤ 1 cm), B2 (1 < IS≤2 cm), and B3 (2 < IS≤3 cm) by invasive tumor size and divided into subgroups (B1[lep+]/[lep−], B2[lep+]/[lep−], and B3[lep+]/[lep−]) according to the presence[lep+] or absence[lep−] of LCs. Cumulative incidence of recurrence (CIR) and cancer‐specific survival (CSS) were examined. Results: LC decreased with increasing IS. Only 24 (8.5%) tumors in group A had an IS >1 cm. 10‐year CIR and CSS were 15.2% and 86.0%. LC and IS were found to be independent predictors of CSS. Patients in group A had 1.4% 10‐year CIR and 100% 10‐year CSS. In group B, a significantly higher CIR and worse CSS were observed as IS increased (p < 0.001), but LC was not a predictor for CSS (p = 0.593). No significant differences in CIR or CSS were found in presence of LC or not when LC < 50% (B1[lep+]/[lep−], B2[lep+]/[lep−], and B3[lep+]/[lep−]: p = 0.36/0.48, p = 0.82/0.94, and p = 0.90/0.37, respectively). Conclusions: LC≥50% tumors demonstrated excellent prognosis regardless of IS. The outcomes of LC < 50% tumors were well predicted by IS, corresponding to the T‐staging system. Nitrogen (N) is often recognized as the primary limiting nutrient element for the growth and production of forests worldwide. Litterfall represents a significant pathway for returning nutrients from aboveground parts of trees to the soils and plays an essential role in N availability in different forest ecosystems. This study explores the N transformation processes under litterfall manipulation treatments in a Masson pine pure forest (MPPF), and Masson pine and Camphor tree mixed forest (MCMF) stands in subtropical southern China. The litterfall manipulation included litterfall addition (LA), litterfall removal (LR), and litterfall control (LC) treatments. The project aimed to examine how litterfall inputs affect the soil N process in different forest types in the study region. Results showed that soil ammonium N (NH4 +-N) and nitrate N (NO3--N) content increased under LA treatment and decreased under LR treatment compared to LC treatment. LA treatment significantly increased soil total inorganic N (TIN) content by 41.86 and 22.19% in MPPF and MCMF, respectively. In contrast, LR treatment decreased the TIN content by 10 and 24% in MPPF and MCMF compared to LC treatment. Overall, the soil net ammonification, nitrification, and N mineralization rates were higher in MCMF than in MPPF; however, values in both forests were not significantly different. LA treatment significantly increased annual net ammonification, nitrification, and mineralization in both forest types (p < 0.05) compared to LC treatment. LR treatment significantly decreased the values (p < 0.05), except for ammonification, where LR treatment did not differ substantially compared to LC treatment. Our results suggested that changes in litterfall inputs would significantly alter soil N dynamics in studied forests of sub-tropical region. Impatiens bijieensis X.X. Bai & L.Y. Ren, sp. nov. from northwest Guizhou Province, China, is described and illustrated. This new species is distributed discontinuously in Jiulongshan, Dafang County and Dajiucaiping, Hezhang County, both of which are in the Wumeng Mountain area, a karst plateau landform. The new species is morphologically similar to I. pterosepala Hook.f., I. lasiophyton Hook.f. and I. leptocaulon Hook.f. in height and flower shape and it especially resembles I. lasiophyton in pilosity. However, it differs in its deep purplish-red flower, 2-lobed lower sepal apex and cylindrical capsule. A detailed description, colour photographs and a provisional IUCN Red List assessment are provided along with discussions of its geographical distribution, ecology and morphological relationships with other similar species. BACKGROUND Alcohol consumption is a known modifiable risk factor for atrial fibrillation. The association, however, might differ according to gender. We investigated gender-specific associations between alcohol consumption and incident atrial fibrillation in an elderly Chinese population. METHODS Our study participants were elderly residents (= 65 years) recruited from five community health centers in the urban area of Shanghai (n = 6,618). Alcohol intake was classified as never drinkers and current light-to-moderate (< 40 g/day) and heavy drinkers (= 40 g/day). Atrial fibrillation was detected by a 30-s single-lead electrocardiography (ECG, AliveCor® Heart Monitor) and further evaluated with a regular 12-lead ECG. RESULTS During a median of 2.1 years (interquartile range: 2.0-2.2) follow-up, the incidence rate of atrial fibrillation was 1.10% in all study participants. It was slightly but non-significantly higher in men (n = 2849) than women (n = 3769, 1.30% vs. 0.96%, P = 0.19) and in current drinkers (n = 793) than never drinkers (n = 5825, 1.64% vs. 1.03%, P = 0.12). In both unadjusted and adjusted analyses, there was interaction between sex and current alcohol intake in relation to the incidence of atrial fibrillation (P < 0.0001). After adjustment for confounding factors, current drinkers had a significantly higher incidence rate of atrial fibrillation than never drinkers in women (12.96% [7/54] vs. 0.78% [29/3715], adjusted odds ratio [OR] = 10.25, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 3.54-29.67, P < 0.0001), but not in men (0.81% [6/739] vs. 1.47% [31/2110], OR = 0.62, 95% CI: 0.25-1.51, P = 0.29). When a major, sudden infectious disease occurs, people tend to react emotionally and display reactions such as tension, anxiety, fear, depression, and somatization symptoms. Social media played a substantial awareness role in developing countries during the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). This study aimed to analyze public opinion regarding COVID-19 and to explore the trajectory of psychological status and online public reactions to the COVID-19 pandemic by examining online content from Weibo in China. This study consisted of three steps: first, Weibo posts created during the pandemic were collected and preprocessed on a large scale; second, public sentiment orientation was classified as "optimistic/pessimistic/neutral" orientation via natural language processing and manual determination procedures; and third, qualitative and quantitative analyses were conducted to reveal the trajectory of public psychological status and online public reactions during the COVID-19 pandemic. Public psychological status differed in different periods of the pandemic (from December 2019 to May 2020). The newly confirmed cases had an almost 1-month lagged effect on public psychological status. Among the 15 events with high impact indexes or related to government decisions, there were 10 optimism orientation > pessimism orientation (OP) events (2/3) and 5 pessimism orientation > optimism orientation (PO) events (1/3). Among the top two OP events, the high-frequency words were "race against time" and "support," while in the top two PO events, the high-frequency words were "irrationally purchase" and "pass away." We proposed a hypothesis that people developed negative self-perception when they received PO events, but their cognition was developed by how these external stimuli were processed and evaluated. These results offer implications for public health policymakers on understanding public psychological status from social media. This study demonstrates the benefits of promoting psychological healthcare and hygiene activity in the early period and improving risk perception for the public based on public opinion and the coping abilities of people. Health managers should focus on disseminating socially oriented strategies to improve the policy literacy of Internet users, thereby facilitating the disease prevention work for the COVID-19 pandemic and other major public events. Shigellosis is a heavy disease burden in China especially in children aged under 5 years. However, the age-related factors involved in transmission of shigellosis are unclear. An age-specific Susceptible–Exposed–Infectious/Asymptomatic–Recovered (SEIAR) model was applied to shigellosis surveillance data maintained by Hubei Province Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from 2005 to 2017. The individuals were divided into four age groups (≤ 5 years, 6–24 years, 25–59 years, and ≥ 60 years). The effective reproduction number (Reff), including infectivity (RI) and susceptibility (RS) was calculated to assess the transmissibility of different age groups. From 2005 to 2017, 130,768 shigellosis cases were reported in Hubei Province. The SEIAR model fitted well with the reported data (P < 0.001). The highest transmissibility (Reff) was from ≤ 5 years to the 25–59 years (mean: 0.76, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.34–1.17), followed by from the 6–24 years to the 25–59 years (mean: 0.69, 95% CI: 0.35–1.02), from the ≥ 60 years to the 25–59 years (mean: 0.58, 95% CI: 0.29–0.86), and from the 25–59 years to 25–59 years (mean: 0.50, 95% CI: 0.21–0.78). The highest infectivity was in ≤ 5 years (RI = 1.71), and was most commonly transmitted to the 25–59 years (45.11%). The highest susceptibility was in the 25–59 years (RS = 2.51), and their most common source was the ≤ 5 years (30.15%). Furthermore, "knock out" simulation predicted the greatest reduction in the number of cases occurred by when cutting off transmission routes among ≤ 5 years and from 25–59 years to ≤ 5 years. Transmission in ≤ 5 years occurred mainly within the group, but infections were most commonly introduced by individuals in the 25–59 years. Infectivity was highest in the ≤ 5 years and susceptibility was highest in the 25–59 years. Interventions to stop transmission should be directed at these age groups. Young migrants have been the major migrant labor force in urban China. But they may be more vulnerable in quality of life and mental health than other groups, due to their personal characteristic and some social/community policies or management measures. It highlights the need to focus on psychological wellbeing and probe driving and reinforcing factors that influence their mental health. This study aimed to investigate the influence of subjective/objective status and possible pathways of young migrants' life satisfaction and psychological distress. Data on 9838 young migrants in the China Migrants Dynamic Survey were analyzed by LISREL 8.8. A total of 94.03% migrated for jobs or business. Subjective status, including subjective socioeconomic status, social adaptation, and psychological integration, had positive effects on life satisfaction, whereas social adaptation and psychological integration negatively affected psychological distress. Objective status, including objective socioeconomic status and health insurance, had adverse effects on life satisfaction, whereas they positively affected psychological distress. Social participation and city belonging had only significant positive mediating roles on life satisfaction. It is essential to increase social adaptation and decrease integration stress according to younger internal migrants' practical needs. In the online travel industry, many hotels collaborate with online travel agencies (OTAs) to attract new customers to book hotels. Meanwhile, hotels and OTAs compete with each other for repeat customers because hoteliers are unwilling to pay a commission to OTAs for the same customers again. The purpose of this study is to investigate the collaboration and competition between OTAs and hotels. The quality of OTA websites and customer values of hotel booking services are key factors in attracting customers in the online-to-offline-to-online (O2O2O) commerce. In particular, the data were collected from China and Vietnam in the travel industry. The results compare the differences and similarities of cross-country customer perceptions and the behavioral intentions of OTAs and hotels. The findings provide insights into the collaboration and competition between OTAs and hotels from a global perspective. Managerial implications for hotels that partner with OTAs are also offered. Straw incorporation is an important measure to improve soil fertility and soil acidification. However, fresh straw that is returned to the field cannot be decomposed in a short time. Accumulation of undecomposed straw in the soil changes humus composition and the C structure. An experiment was designed to evaluate the effects of decomposed straw on soil fertility and microbial communities. Soil samples were collected from a rice--rice--tobacco region in south western China (The ricewas Hongyou No 7, which was a new variety applied in 2007 by the Honghe State Agricultural Science Institute, Yunnan province, China). (The tobacco was K326. K326 was an excellent variety which Imported from Northup King Seed Company (USA) to China in 1985). The soil was mixed with different kinds of straw and incubated in a greenhouse. The responses of the soil fertility, microbial diversity, and microbial population were analyzed after 0, 16, and 33 d of incubation. Overall, we found that (a) the soil organic matter and the organic C content of each humus component were significantly increased after 33 d of incubation. In addition, the condensation and oxidation degrees of the soil C structure were decreased. (b) Community dynamics changes in the soil were accompanied by changes of incubation times. Purpose: To determine the thickness of the facial bone wall and the sagittal angulation between the long axis of the teeth and the long axis of the associated alveolar bone in the maxillary esthetic zone using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT). Materials and Methods: A retrospective radiographic study of CBCT images was conducted in 300 patients. The distance between the cementoenamel junction (CEJ) and the facial bone crest, the thickness of the facial bone wall (4 mm apical to the CEJ and midroot), and the sagittal angle between the long axis of teeth and the long axis of the respective alveolar bone were measured. Descriptive statistics and frequency analyses were performed. Results: The sample included 133 men and 167 women (mean age, 36.9 years; range, 18 to 60 years). The distance between the CEJ and the facial bone crest varied between 0.1 and 4 mm and showed an overall tendency to increase with age. Almost 80% of anterior teeth and 40% of premolars exhibited a thin facial bone wall (< 1 mm), and nearly 30% of sites had a bone wall thinner than 0.5 mm. The sagittal angle at approximately 80% of central incisor and second premolar sites was < 20 degrees, but the angle at more than 40% of canine sites was ≥ 30 degrees. There was a significant decrease in facial bone wall thickness from premolars to anterior teeth. Conclusion: The facial bone wall in most maxillary anterior teeth was very thin. There was a substantial sagittal angulation between the long axes of teeth and those of their respective alveolar bone in most esthetic zone positions. This paper estimates the effects on rural education of the send-down movement during the Cultural Revolution, when about 16 million urban youth were mandated to resettle in the countryside. Using a county-level dataset compiled from local gazetteers and population censuses, we show that greater exposure to the sent-down youths significantly increased rural children's educational achievement. This positive effect diminished after the urban youth left the countryside in the late 1970s but never disappeared. Rural children who interacted with the sent-down youths were also more likely to pursue more-skilled occupations, marry later, and have smaller families than those who did not. Background: Developing countries exhibit a high disease burden from shigellosis. Owing to the different incidences in males and females, this study aims to analyze the features involved in the transmission of shigellosis among male (subscript m) and female (subscript f) individuals using a newly developed sex-based model. Methods: The data of reported shigellosis cases were collected from the China Information System for Disease Control and Prevention in Hubei Province from 2005 to 2017. A sex-based Susceptible–Exposed–Infectious/Asymptomatic–Recovered (SEIAR) model was applied to explore the dataset, and a sex-age-based SEIAR model was applied in 2010 to explore the sex- and age-specific transmissions. Results: From 2005 to 2017, 130 770 shigellosis cases (including 73 981 male and 56 789 female cases) were reported in Hubei Province. The SEIAR model exhibited a significant fitting effect with the shigellosis data (P < 0.001). The median values of the shigellosis transmission were 2.3225 × 108 for SARmm (secondary attack rate from male to male), 2.5729 × 108 for SARmf, 2.7630 × 10-8 for SARfm, and 2.1061 × 10-8 for SARff. The top five mean values of the transmission relative rate in 2010 (where the subscript 1 was defined as male and age ≤ 5 years, 2 was male and age 6 to 59 years, 3 was male and age ≥ 60 years, 4 was female and age ≤ 5 years, 5 was female and age 6 to 59 years, and 6 was male and age ≥ 60 years) were 5.76 × 10-8 for β61, 5.32 × 10-8 for β31, 4.01 × 10-8 for β34, 7.52 × 10-9 for β62, and 6.04 × 10-9 for β64. Conclusions: The transmissibility of shigellosis differed among male and female individuals. The transmissibility between the genders was higher than that within the genders, particularly female-to-male transmission. The most important route in children (age ≤ 5 years) was transmission from the elderly (age ≥ 60 years). Therefore, the greatest interventions should be applied in females and the elderly. Background: The tiger frog (Hoplobatrachus rugulosus) is widely raised by many farms in southern region of China as an economically edible frog. The growth, development, and sexual differentiation of amphibians are influenced by temperature and steroid hormone level. However, the problem of hormone residues is caused by the addition of exogenous hormones in frog breeding, it is worth considering whether non-sterol aromatase inhibitors can be used instead of hormones. Methods: In our study, H. rugulosus tadpoles were subjected to two water temperatures (29 °C and 34 °C) and three letrozole concentrations in the feed (0, 0.1 and 1 mg/g) to examine the effects of temperature, aromatase inhibitor and their interaction on metamorphosis, locomotion, and sex ratios. A G-test and contingency table were used to analyze the metamorphosis rate of tadpoles and the survival rate of froglets after feeding for 90 days. A G-test was also used to analyze sex ratios in different treatment groups. Results: Metamorphosis time and body size (snout-vent length, body mass and condition factor) were significantly different between the two temperature treatments. Metamorphosis time was longer and body size was increased at 29 °C compared to those at 34 °C. Letrozole concentration and the temperature × letrozole interaction did not affect these variables. The jumping distance of froglets following metamorphosis was positively associated with the condition factor; when controlling for condition factor, jumping distance was not affected by temperature, letrozole concentration and their interaction. Temperature and letrozole concentration also did not affect metamorphosis and survival rate. Sex ratio of the control group (0 mg/g letrozole) was 1:1 at 29 °C, but there were more males at 34 °C. The sex ratios of H. rugulosus treated with letrozole at 29 °C and 34 °C were significantly biased toward males, and male ratio increased as letrozole concentration increased. The authors present a highly complex search-planning problem in which unmanned aerial vehicles and humans collaborate to minimize the expected time at which human rescuers reach a target who is missing. They propose an evolutionary algorithm that uses biogeography-inspired operators to find an optimal or near-optimal solution within an acceptable time. The use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is becoming commonplace in search-and-rescue tasks in complex terrains. In the literature, there are a number of studies on UAV search with the objective of minimizing search time and/or maximizing detection probability. However, little effort has been devoted to collaborative human and UAV search, which is necessary in many applications in which humans must ultimately reach the target. In this paper, we present a collaborative human–UAV search-planning problem, the objective of which is to minimize the expected time for human rescuers to reach the target. For this highly complex problem, traditional exact algorithms would be very time-consuming or even impractical for solving even relatively small instances. We propose an evolutionary algorithm that uses biogeography-inspired operators to efficiently evolve a population of candidate solutions to the optimal or near-optimal solution within an acceptable time. Computational experiments demonstrate the advantages of our algorithm over many popular algorithms. The proposed method has been successfully applied to two real-world search-and-rescue operations to find missing tourists in a nature reserve in China. Compared with the old method used by the rescue department, our method shortened the time required for reaching the targets by approximately 79 and 147 minutes in the two cases, respectively, providing a great improvement in the life-critical operations. Background: The reported incidence of dengue fever increased dramatically in recent years in China. This study aimed to investigate and to assess the effectiveness of intervention implemented in a dengue outbreak in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, China. Methods: Data of a dengue outbreak were collected in Ningbo City in China by a field epidemiological survey according to a strict protocol and case definition. Serum specimens of all cases were collected for diagnosis and the virological characteristics were detected by using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and gene sequencing. Vector surveillance was implemented during the outbreak to collect the larva and adult mosquito densities to calculate the Breteau Index (BI) and human biting rate (HBR), respectively. Data of monthly BI and light-trap density in 2018 were built to calculate the seasonality of the vector. A transmission mathematical model was developed to dynamic the incidence of the disease. The parameters of the model were estimated by the data of the outbreak and vector surveillance data in 2018. The effectiveness of the interventions implemented during the outbreak was assessed by the data and the modelling. Results: From 11 August to 8 September, 2018, a dengue outbreak was reported with 27 confirmed cases in a population of 5536-people community (community A) of Ningbo City. Whole E gene sequences were obtained from 24 cases and were confirmed as dengue virus type 1 (DENV-1). The transmission source of the outbreak was origin from community B where a dengue case having the same E gene sequence was onset on 30 July. Aedes albopictus was the only vector species in the area. The value of BI and HBR was 57.5 and 12 per person per hour respectively on 18 August, 2018 and decreased dramatically after interventions. The transmission model fitted well (χ2 = 6.324, P = 0.388) with the reported cases data. With no intervention, the total simulated number of the cases would be 1728 with a total attack rate (TAR) of 31.21% (95%CI: 29.99%– 32.43%). Case isolation and larva control (LC) have almost the same TAR and duration of outbreak (DO) as no intervention. Different levels of reducing HBR (rHBR) had different effectiveness with TARs ranging from 1.05% to 31.21% and DOs ranging from 27 days to 102 days. Adult vector control (AVC) had a very low TAR and DO. "LC+AVC" had a similar TAR and DO as that of AVC. "rHBR100%+LC", "rHBR100%+AVC", "rHBR100%+LC+AVC" and "rHBR100%+LC+AVC+Iso" had the same effectiveness. Conclusions: Without intervention, DENV-1 could be transmitted rapidly within a short period of time and leads to high attack rate in community in China. AVC or rHBR should be recommended as primary interventions to control rapid transmission of the dengue virus at the early stage of an outbreak. The reported incidence of the disease increased dramatically in recent years and cases have expanded from southern to central and northern part of China. In this study, the findings include that DENV-1 can transmit rapidly with a short period of time and leads to high attack rate in community, and that rHBR or AVC should be recommended as primary interventions to control rapid transmission of dengue virus at the early stage of an outbreak. Therefore, dengue outbreak is at high risk in many areas in China because of the potential high receptivity (widely distribution of Ae. albopictus) and vulnerability (high frequency of the importation) of the transmission. The high transmissibility of the virus makes it hard and urgent to control the outbreak. Delayed intervention (larvae control or case isolation) is hard to show its effectiveness and the interventions without delay are strongly recommended. Crop phenology provides essential information for land surface phenology dynamics monitoring and modelling, and crop management and production. Most previous studies mainly investigated crop phenology at site scale, however, land surface phenology dynamics monitoring and modelling at a large-scale need a high-resolution spatially explicit information on crop phenology dynamics. In this study, we proposed a method to retrieve 1km-grid crop phenological dataset for three main crops from 2000 to 2015 based on GLASS LAI products. First, we compared three common smoothing methods and chose the most suitable methods for different crops and regions. Then, we developed an optimal filter-based phenology detection (OFP) approach which combined both inflexion- and threshold-based method and detected the key phenological stages of three staple crops at 1km spatial resolution across China. Finally, we established a high resolution gridded-phenology product for three staple crops in China during 2000–2015, named as ChinaCropPhen1km. Compared with the intensive phenological observations from the Agricultural Meteorological Stations of China Meteorological Administration, the dataset had a high accuracy with errors of retrieved phenological date less than 10 days, and represented the spatiotemporal patterns of the observed phenological dynamics at site scale fairly well. This study investigates the institutional identity of Chinese government inhouse interpreters at work. Using systemic functional linguistics (SFL) to analyze the data of five interpreters collected from seven interpreting sessions of China's Two-Session Press Conference (CTSPC), it examines translational shifts associated with the interpersonal meaning between the source speech and target rendition, but with a focus on the attitudinal resources. The findings indicate that the interpreters chose to position themselves in different interpersonal relationships. They consistently aligned themselves with the Chinese Premier, keeping the positivity of his speech by rendering its meaning more explicitly while neutralizing negative comments by overseas journalists on some damning issues. Despite reprimanding overtones of some overseas journalists, their interpretations are found somehow agreeable to Chinese audience and the Premier. The interpreters' institutional identity is indeed constructed by exercising social and professional roles in practice. Because of the need to travel between the two, they must balance themselves all the time in the tug of war. Background: Previous studies have demonstrated that elevated admission and fasting glucose (FG) is associated with worse outcomes in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). However, the quantitative relationship between FG levels and in-hospital mortality in patients with AMI remains unknown. The aim of the study is to assess the prevalence of elevated FG levels in hospitalized Chinese patients with AMI and diabetes mellitus and to determine the quantitative relationship between FG levels and the in-hospital mortality as well as the optimal level of FG in patients with AMI and diabetes mellitus.Methods: A retrospective study was carried out in 1856 consecutive patients admitted for AMI and diabetes mellitus from 2002 to 2013. Clinical variables of baseline characteristics, in-hospital management and in-hospital adverse outcomes were recorded and compared among patients with different FG levels.Results: Among all patients recruited, 993 patients (53.5 %) were found to have FG ≥100 mg/dL who exhibited a higher in-hospital mortality than those with FG < 100 mg/dL (P < 0.001). Although there was a high correlation between FG levels and in-hospital mortality in all patients (r = 0.830, P < 0.001), the relationship showed a J-curve configuration with an elevated mortality when FG was less than 80 mg/dL. Using multivariate logistic regression models, we identified that age, FG levels and Killip class of cardiac function were independent predictors of in-hospital mortality in AMI patients with diabetes mellitus.Conclusions: More than half of patients with AMI and diabetes mellitus have FG ≥100 mg/dL and the relationship between in-hospital mortality and FG level was a J-curve configuration. Both FG ≥ 100 mg/dL and FG <80 mg/dL were identified to be independent predictors of in-hospital mortality and thus the optimal FG level in AMI patients with diabetes mellitus appears to be 80-100 mg/dL. Few studies about the relationship of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) level with visceral adiposity index (VAI) and lipid accumulation product (LAP) in large Chinese population are available. The aim of this study was to explore whether TSH level within the reference range was associated with these two newer reliable cardiovascular risk factors. The data were obtained from a cross-sectional study (SPECT-China study, 2014-2015), which was based on the population. Participants underwent several checkups, which included anthropometric parameters, blood pressure, TSH levels, and glucose and lipid profiles. VAI and LAP were calculated. A total of 8727 subjects were enrolled in this study. The mean age was 53.00 ± 13.05 years. Age, female to male ratio, BMI, systolic pressure, and HOMA-IR increased along with the increasing levels of TSH (p < 0.01). Analysis of lipid profile showed significantly higher serum triglycerides and LDL cholesterol levels in the higher TSH quartile (p < 0.001 and p = 0.028, respectively). The levels of VAI and LAP were all increased along with increasing TSH level (all p < 0.001). After full adjustment, TSH levels were positively associated with VAI, LAP, and TG/HDL levels significantly (B = 0.041, 0.028 and 0.037, respectively, all p < 0.01). Higher TSH concentrations among the reference range were common in older people as well as in women subjects, and they were positively associated with VAI and LAP. This highlighted that even subtle variations of serum TSH within the normal range may be potential risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: Vitamin D is a multifunctional vitamin for our body. Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a common metabolic disease. Whether T2DM affects the serum 25(OH)D level has not been reported. The objective of this study was to reveal the extent to which vitamin D is present in the population in East China and to explore the relationship between serum 25(OH)D and T2DM. Methods: The cohort was selected based on a large investigation named Survey on Prevalence in East China including 12,702 participants aged 21-92 years old. All the participants completed the questionnaire and went through a physical examination. Fasting blood samples were collected to test serum 25(OH)D and other metabolism- related indicators. AVONA was used to test the significance of differences among groups. Multinomial logistic regression was used to assess the association of T2DM with serum 25(OH)D level. Results: The overall percentage of vitamin D deficiency was 80.55% (male 74.1%, female 85.0%). Men with lower serum 25(OH)D level had high value in homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance and HbA1c. The serum 25(OH)D level of those who were diagnosed with T2DM was higher than that in non-diabetics. The serum 25(OH)D level of pre-diabetes was the highest. T2DM patients trended to have higher serum 25(OH)D levels. Conclusion: Vitamin D deficiency is common among the people in East-China. T2DM patients had higher levels of serum 25(OH)D. This paper investigated chemical composition and antioxidant activities of umezu, pickling liquid of Prunus mume, from different factories in South and East China. The organic acid and phenolic acid profiles were also analyzed. Results showed that umezu was rich in organic acids and extremely sour as P. mume fruit in addition to its high NaCl level (≥20%). Total acid in umezu was more than 43.78 g/L in which main organic acids were citric acid and malic acid. Umezu contained more than 250.54mg GAE/L total phenolic in which dominant phenolic acids were hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives. Umezu exhibited powerful antioxidant activities in ORAC, ABTS, DPPH, and FRAP assays. Reducing sugar, phenolic compounds, and antioxidant activities of umezu were affected by sample origins and fruit cultivars. Background: The alanine aminotransferase (ALT)/aspartate aminotransferase (AST) ratio is reportedly associated with insulin resistance (IR). However, few studies have explored the relationship between the ALT/AST ratio and IR in the Chinese population. Here, we aimed to explore whether the ALT/AST ratio is associated and, if so, to what extent, with IR in the Chinese population as categorized by waist circumference (WC). Methods: Our data were obtained from the SPECT-China study, a cross-sectional survey on the prevalence of metabolic diseases and risk factors in East China from 2014 to 2015. A total of 8398 participants aged 52.16 ± 13.16 (mean ± standard deviation) years were included in this study. Anthropometric indices, biochemical parameters and clinical characteristics were measured. IR was defined as the top quartile of the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR > 1.6), and central obesity was defined as a WC ≥90 cm in males or ≥80 cm in females. Linear regression and receiver operating characteristic curve analyses were conducted. Results: The ALT/AST ratio was significantly correlated and associated with HOMA-IR in both non-centrally obese (r = 0.284, B = 0.509, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.459-0.559, P < 0.001) and centrally obese subjects (r = 0.372, B = 0.607, 95%CI: 0.532-0.683, P < 0.001) after adjusting for potential confounders. The ALT/AST ratio was one of the best markers of IR, with areas under the curve (AUC) values of 0.66 (0.64-0.68) in non-centrally and 0.68 (0.66-0. 70) in centrally obese subjects. In the prediction model for IR, the AUCs were significantly augmented after adding the ALT/AST ratio in both non-centrally obese [AUC 95%CI 0.69(0.67-0.71) vs 0.72(0.70-0.74), P<0.001] and central obese [AUC 95%CI 0.69(0.67-0.71) vs 0.73(0.72-0.75), P<0.001] subjects. The optimal cut-off points of the ALT/AST ratio for identifying IR were 0.80 in non-centrally obese people and 0.78 in centrally obese people, respectively. Conclusion: The ALT/AST ratio may be one of the best markers for IR in the Chinese population. Purpose: To show early, rapid and accurate molecular diagnosis of occult macular dystrophy (OMD) in a four-generation Chinese family with inherited macular dystrophy. Methods: In the current study, we comprehensively screened 130 genes involved in common inherited non-syndromic eye diseases with next-generation sequencing-based target capture sequencing of the proband of a four-generation Chinese family that has suffered from maculopathy without a definitive diagnosis for over 10 years. Variants were filtered and analyzed to identify possible disease-causing variants before validation by Sanger sequencing. Results: Two heterozygous mutations--RP1L1 c.133 C > T (p.Arg45Trp), which is a hot spot for OMD, and ABCA4 c.6119 G > A (p.Arg2040Gln), which was identified in Stargardt's disease were found in three patients, but neither of the mutations was found in the unaffected individuals in the same family, who are phenotypically normal or in the normal control volunteers. Conclusion: These results cannot only confirm the diagnosis of OMD in the proband, but also provide presymptomatic diagnosis of the proband's children before the onset of visual acuity impairment and guidance regarding the prognosis and management of these patients. Heterozygous mutations of RP1L1 c.133 C > T (p.Arg45Trp) and ABCA4 c.6119 G > A (p.Arg2040Gln) are likely responsible for OMD. Igneous intrusions are distributed extensively in the Huaibei coalfield, China. In the Haizi coal mine, coal and gas outbursts have occurred 11 times under an extremely thick sill (average thickness 120 m). This paper presents the results of a study on the influences of the igneous rock on coal pore structure, methane desorption and diffusion properties, and coal seam gas occurrence. The results show that the thermal evolution effect of the igneous sill prominently increases the specific surface area and pore volume of the affected coal. Samples HZ1 and HZ2 (No. 7 and No. 9 seams, respectively) closer to the sill possess improved pore connectivity, while samples HZ3 and HZ4 (away from the sill) and sample HZ5 (without sill covering) of the No. 10 coal seam have poor pore connectivity. Moreover, the effective diffusivity and desorption indexes of the coal increase progressively closer to the sill. The thermal effect of the igneous sill promotes the development of coal pores, thus leading to better pore connectivity, more desorbed gas, and much higher gas desorption and diffusion rates. Consequently, the thermal evolution effect of the igneous sill can change the occurrence and characteristics of the entrapment effect in the underlying coal seams, thus resulting in a high probability of gas hazards or even coal and gas outbursts in the coal seam close to the igneous sill. Engineering practices show that the affected coal seams have high gas content, gas pressure, and gas emission amounts as well as a high propensity for coal and gas outburst. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Used the EuroQoL-5 dimension (EQ-5D) to evaluate the health status of 5310 residents who live in East China, and compared the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) with 311 patients with type 2 diabetes as well as to explore the main influence factors to HRQoL in East China. Methods: The cohort includes 5310 participants aged 18-89 years old lived in East China. EuroQoL-5 dimension (EQ-5D) scale was used for the assessment of health-related quality of life. Results: The mean age of the cohort was 52.2 ± 13.4 years of which 43.7% were male. A moderate level of health-related quality of life was measured of that EQ-5D index and EQ-VAS scores were 0.939 ± 0.111 and 80.06 ± 11.58, respectively. There was a significant difference between diabetes patients and non-diabetes (p = 0.029, p < 0.001, respectively). The age had an inverse correlation with the EQ-5D scores both in general population and diabetes patients. The EQ-5D Vas was weakly adversely associated with the FPG, HbA1c and HOMA-IR. Conclusion: The overall health-related quality of life of population in East-China was moderate. Diabetes patients had lower score of health-related quality. Ametryn is a selective herbicide belonging to the triazine family and widely used for killing annual grasses or weeds in China and other parts of the world. However, reports on its environmental risk assessment with regard to soil and crop contamination are limited. In this study, accumulation of ametryn in wheat, maize, ryegrass and alfalfa crops along with ametryn residues in the soil planted with the plants were comparatively investigated. Soil enzyme activities and low molecular weight organic acids (LMWOAs), as well as antioxidant and degradation enzyme activities in plant tissues were measured. The maximum accumulation of ametryn was found in shoots and roots of wheat and alfalfa. Ryegrass had the maximum ametryn translocation factor (TF) from roots to shoots, with more than three times over the other crops. The ametryn residue in ryegrass-planted soil was much lower than that in soil planted with others. The residual content of ametryn in crop-planted soils was ordered as rhizosphere soil
