The environmental problems caused by building energy consumption (BEC) are becoming increasingly prominent. Reducing building energy consumption can not only effectively curb environmental pollution, but also continue to promote economic development. However, there are few reports on reducing building energy consumption to continuously promote economic development. Sustainable driving force (SDF) has been widely mentioned in past research as a common-sense concept, but few systematic studies have been carried out. The main research objectives of this article include two aspects: On the one hand, this study takes the lead in establishing an SDF model and conducting systematic research on SDF. On the other hand, based on the SDF model, an empirical study is conducted on the sustainable driving effect of reducing building energy consumption on economic development in China. The main conclusions are as follows: (1) Research on the SDF model: Based on common examples, the objective reality of SDF has been theoretically proven. Based on the relevant theories of econometrics, this article believes that the "Granger causality test" and the "distributed lag regression model" can be used as basic tools for quantitative research of SDF models. (2) Research on the application of SDF model: From the Granger causality test, it can be seen that the current BEC intensity is the Granger cause of China's economic development in the first and eighth cycles of the future. According to the results of the distributed lag regression model, reducing BEC intensity has a sustainable driving effect on economic development. Specifically, in the lagged period 1~8, the sustainable driving effect (reverse effect) of BEC on economic development gradually increases at first (coefficient value from 3878.52 to 5163.87), and then gradually decreases (coefficient value from 5163.87 to 783.534). To sum up, the SDF model can provide a reference for the quantitative study of SDF; studying the sustainable driving effect of BEC on economic development can provide a macro reference for the government to formulate "energy conservation and emission reduction" measures. Asphalt composite concrete pavement is one of the common pavement forms in China. However, due to the influence of design, materials, construction quality, and other aspects, asphalt composite concrete pavement develops various degrees of cracks after being put into use, which affects the service performance and life of asphalt pavement. The Burgers model is used to examine the effects of fiber-volume-fraction and length–diameter-ratio on the viscoelastic mechanical behavior model parameters and viscoelastic properties of asphalt composite concrete through the bend test for creep of polyester fiber asphalt composite concrete beam. The findings indicate that the fiber's ability to control asphalt composite concrete bending creep deformation increases initially and subsequently diminishes as fiber-volume-fraction and length–diameter-ratio increase. Fiber-volume-fraction and length–diameter-ratio effects can be fully reflected by fiber amount characteristics. A viscoelastic mechanical behavior model of fiber-reinforced asphalt composite concrete is developed on this foundation while taking into account the influence of fiber amount characteristic factors. Theoretical study and practical research indicate that the ideal fiber volume ratio of polyester fiber asphalt composite concrete is 0.35 percent, the ideal length-to-diameter ratio is 324, and the ideal fiber amount characteristic parameter is 1.13. The test results can provide a certain reference value for the improvement of the long-term durability of fiber asphalt composite concrete pavement of road engineering. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Reinforcement with grout as an environmentally friendly technology has played a key role in underground coal mining. The risk of the water inrush into coal mines can all be reduced by grouting. A model that integrates a geographic information system (GIS), distribution of quantity of grouting injected, and water inflow correlation method is proposed here to evaluate the effects of grouted reinforcement in coal mining. The temporal and spatial characteristics of the volume of grout injected and water yield of aquifers are analyzed by using the GIS, and the rate of filling of cement slurry and its distribution characteristics are determined. The effects of grouting on the aquifers which has been carried out to reduce their permeability are determined by comparing the spatial temporal variations in the volume of the grout injected, water yield, and rate of filling of the cement slurry. The method was applied in a case study in a coalmine in Henan province, China, in which the risk of the water inrush from karst aquifers has been reduced by grouting. There are three limestone aquifers, namely, L8, L10, and L11 which underlie an exploitable coal seam. The result indicates that most of the cement slurry is consumed when the water yield is 20 to 30 m3/h; and that there are minimal changes of the electrical properties of the rock stratum under coal seam when the water yield of L11 is low within the range of 40 m. The resistivity of the aquifers before and after grouting and their spatial characteristics are tested by using the transient electromagnetic method (TEM), and this shows that there are no areas with low resistivity. The electrical properties of the strata at a depth that ranges from 40–80 m with transverse homogeneity show that Aquifers L10 and L11 have been transformed into aquicludes.
