In recent years, there has been a significant increase in surface ozone (O 3 ) concentrations in the troposphere. Ozone pollution has significant adverse effects on ecosystems, human health, and climate change, particularly on crop growth and yield. This study utilized the observational hourly O 3 data, cumulative O 3 concentration over 40 ppb per h (AOT40), and the mean daytime 7-h O 3 concentration (M7) to analyze the spatiotemporal distributions of relative yield losses (RYLs) and evaluate the yield reduction and economic losses of rice in Sichuan province from 2015 to 2020. The results indicated that the average O 3 concentration during the growing rice season ranged from 55.4 to 69.3 μg/m 3 , with the highest O 3 concentration observed in 2017, and the AOT40 ranged from 4.5 to 8.7 ppm h from 2015 to 2020. At the county level, the O 3 concentration, AOT40, and the relative yield loss (RYL) of rice based on AOT40 exhibited clear spatiotemporal differences in Sichuan. The RYLs of AOT40 were 4.9-9.2% from 2015 to 2020. According to AOT40 and M7 metrics, the yield loss and economic losses attributed to O 3 pollution amounted to 78.75-150.36 (9.74-21.54) ten thousand tons, and 2079.08-4149.89 (257.25-594.45) million Yuan, respectively. Rice yield and economic losses were relatively large in the Chengdu Plain, southern Sichuan, and northeast Sichuan. These findings will contribute to a deeper understanding of the detrimental effects of elevated surface O 3 concentrations on rice crops. When individuals face life pressure or significant family changes, individuals with better family adaptation can better survive the crisis. Although the influencing factors of family adaptation have been investigated, the application of potential profile analysis has yet to be found. This analytical approach can reveal different potential categories of family adaptation, providing new perspectives for theoretical development and interventions. This study used latent profile analysis to explore family adaptation levels in breast cancer patients and identify different latent categories, examining their characteristic differences. A cross-sectional study was conducted in Jinzhou, China, from July 2023 to March 2024. The questionnaire included Sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, Benefit Finding Scale (BFS), Dyadic Coping Scale (DCI), Chinese Perceived Stress Scales (PSS), and Family adaptability and cohesion evaluation scales (FACES). Mplus8.3 and SPSS26.0 software were used for data analysis. The latent profile analysis (LPA) method was used to fit the family adaptations of breast cancer patients. Three latent categories of family adaptation were identified: low-level family adaptation (21.5%), medium level family adaptation (47.8%), and high-level family adaptation (30.6%). All 14 items with high levels of family adaptation scored higher than the other two groups. In particular, out of all the categories, item 9, "The idea of educating children is sound," scored highest. Compared with the low-level group, the influential factors of family adaptation in the high-level group were BFS, DCI, PSS, relapse and personal monthly income; The factors influencing family adaptation at the middle level are DCI, BFS, breast cancer type, family history of breast cancer, and personal monthly income. Compared with the medium level group, PSS and DCI were the influential factors of family adaptation in the high-level group. Family adaptation in breast cancer patients can be divided into three categories: low-level, medium-level, and high-level. Background: Nonrestorative sleep (NRS) is related to numerous adverse outcomes. There is rare evidence of its associated factors, especially in Chinese adolescents. This study aimed to explore the factors associated with NRS in Chinese adolescents and the potential moderation effects of coffee or tea consumption., Methods: This cross-sectional study invited adolescents attending Grades 7-11 in Nanjing, China, to complete a self-administered questionnaire, including their NRS, stress, anxiety, physical symptoms, depression, sociodemographics, and lifestyles. Linear regressions were applied to investigate the associated factors of their NRS, with the moderation effects of coffee or tea consumption and other characteristics being tested by additionally including their interactions., Results: Totally 481 adolescents (49% male, age 15.5 ± 1.5 years) were enrolled, with the average global NRS score of 42.16 ± 7.57. Higher family income (β = 2.01, P = 0.007), longer sleep duration (β = 2.33, P = 0.011), and moderate after-class activity (β = 1.50, P = 0.044) contributed less NRS, while higher educational level (β = -2.60, P = 0.033), more coffee or tea consumption (β = -1.68, P = 0.013), physical symptoms (β = -3.85, P < 0.001), stress (β = -0.23, P = 0.005), anxiety (β = -1.54, P = 0.045), and depression (β = -0.13, P = 0.014) contributed more NRS. Females (β = 0.82, P = 0.005), older age (β = -0.46, P = 0.029), and higher education level (β = -1.68, P < 0.001) contributed less refreshment from sleep, more physical/medical symptoms of NRS, and less daytime function, respectively. Coffee or tea consumption moderated the associations of somatic symptoms (β = 0.25, P = 0.021), stress (β = 0.29, P = 0.022), anxiety (β = 0.27, P = 0.005), and depression (β = 0.17, P = 0.021) with NRS., Conclusions: Longer sleep duration, moderate after-class activity, reduced coffee or tea consumption, and promotion of physical and mental health may help reduce adolescents' NRS. Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by vascular thrombosis and obstetric morbidity, with accurate laboratory examination of antiphospholipid antibodies (aPLs) being crucial for diagnosis. This study focused on anti-β2 glycoprotein I (aβ2GPI) antibodies and aimed to establish the first population-based cutoff values for aβ2GPI IgA/IgM/IgG antibodies in non-pregnant women of reproductive age in Southwest China. The study cohort comprised 181 healthy women of reproductive age for study. Blood samples were collected on an early morning fast. Anti-β2GPI antibodies including IgA, IgM and IgG were measured in serum using the HOB ® BioCLIA kit. According to the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines, the study used non-parametric percentile methods to calculate the 95th, 97.5th, and 99th percentiles cutoff values for aβ2GPI IgA/IgM/IgG antibodies, along with corresponding 90% confidence intervals (CI), while excluding outliers. A total of 168 independent samples were collected for verification, including 85 samples from healthy subjects and 83 samples from APS patients, in order to evaluate the analytical performance of the obtained cutoff values. The 99th percentile cutoff values were 3.36 RU/mL for aβ2GPI IgA, 27.54 RU/mL for aβ2GPI IgM and 1.81 RU/mL for aβ2GPI IgG, which indicated that the levels of aβ2GPI IgM antibodies were generally higher compared to those of IgA and IgG antibodies. Our established reference range was confirmed to be successful in validating the detected values of aβ2GPI antibodies in all healthy controls. With the 99th percentile cutoff value, the sensitivity was 14.46% for aβ2GPI IgA, 22.89% for aβ2GPI IgG, and 9.64% for aβ2GPI IgM in APS patients. This study established population-based cutoff values that are applicable to the local population for the accurate laboratory examination of aβ2GPI antibodies in non-pregnant women of reproductive age. In this study, various crops and farmland soils were collected from the Fen-Wei Plain, China, to investigate the bioavailability of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), their accumulation in edible plant tissues, and the factors impacting their accumulation. PFAS were frequently detected in all of the crops, with total concentrations ranging from 0.61 to 35.8 ng/g. The results of sequential extractions with water, basic methanol, and acidic methanol indicate that water extraction enables to characterize the bioavailability of PFAS in soil to edible plant tissues more accurately, especially for the shorter-chain homologues. The bioavailability of PFAS was remarkably enhanced in the rhizosphere (RS) soil, with the strongest effect observed for leafy vegetables. The water-extracted Σ 16 PFAS in RS soil was strongly correlated with the content of dissolved organic carbon in the soil. Tannins and lignin, identified as the main components of plant root exudates by Fourier transform-ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry, were found to enhance the bioavailability of PFAS significantly. Redundancy analysis provided strong evidence that the lipid and protein contents in edible plant tissues play important roles in the accumulation of short- and long-chain PFAS, respectively. Additionally, the high water demand of these tissues during the growth stage greatly facilitated the translocation of PFAS, particularly for the short-chain homologues and perfluorooctanoic acid.

Aim: To investigate the current state and influencing factors of core competence of oncology specialist nurses as well as the relationship between core competence and perceived professional benefits., Design: A cross-sectional correlational survey., Methods: This questionnaire survey was conducted with oncology specialist nurses working in a Grade III A (tertiary) Public Cancer Hospital in Jinan, China in March 2021. Based on informed consent, a convenience sampling of 350 nurses participated in the study, with 322 valid questionnaires collected. Using IBM SPSS21.0, the data were analysed to perform descriptive statistics, analysis of variance (ANOVA), multiple stepwise regression analysis and Pearson's correlation analysis., Results: The overall average score of nurses' core competence was 224.28 ± 7.95, a medium level and the overall average score of their perceived professional benefits was 132.99 ± 5.05. Nurses' core competence was positively correlated with perceived professional benefits. The differences in professional title, education, working years and perceived professional benefits were statistically significant., Conclusion: The findings indicated that nurses' perceived professional benefit is an important factor affecting core competence. X-linked microhaplotypes (X-MHs) have the potential to be a valuable supplementary tool in complex kinship identification or the resolution of DNA mixtures, because they bring together the distinctive genetic pattern of X chromosomal markers and the benefits of microhaplotypes (MHs). In this study, we used the 1000 Genome database to screen and select 63 X-MHs; 18 MHs were filtered out though a batch sequencing assessment of the DNA samples collected from 112 unrelated Chinese Han individuals. The resulting 45-plex panel performed well in comprehensive assessments including repeatability, sensitivity, species specificity, resistance to PCR inhibitors or degradation, mutation rate, and accuracy in detecting DNA mixture samples. The minimum amount of DNA template that can be tested with this panel is 0.5 ng. Additionally, the alleles of the minor contributor can be accurately detected when the mixture rate is larger than 1:9 in female-male mixture or 1:19 in male-male mixture. Then, we calculated population parameters on each MH based on the allele frequency data obtained from the sequence results of the aforementioned 112 unrelated samples. Combining these parameters on each MH, it can be calculated that TDP m , TDP f , CPET, CPED FM , CPED FF and CNCEP 3 of the 45-plex system were 1-8.99×10 -13 , 1-1.62×10 -19 , 0.9999999995, 0.9999981, 0.9955, 0.9999971 and 0.99940, respectively, indicating that the panel is capable in personal identification and parentage testing. To reveal the unique advantage of X-MHs in the analyses of complex kinship and male DNA mixture, further assessments were made. For complex kinship identification, 22 types of individual pairs with different second-degree kinship were simulated and different types of likelihood ratios (LR) were calculated for each. The results revealed that the panel can achieve accuracy of approximately 70 %∼80 % when dividing each of the three types of second-degree kinships into three or four groups. Theoretically, such sub-division cannot be done by using independent autosomal markers. For male DNA mixture analysis without suspects, the maximum likelihood ratio strategy was derived and employed in the estimation of the number of male contributors (NOMC). Simulations were conducted to verify the efficacy of the 45-plex panel in the field and to compare it with autosomal markers by assuming the 45 MHs as autosomal ones. The results showed that X-MHs can achieve higher accuracy in the estimation of NOMC than autosomal ones when the mixed males were unrelated. Background: Interprofessional education (IPE) has been advocated for all healthcare students, and readiness for interprofessional learning significantly influences its effectiveness. It is essential to explore the antecedent factors of readiness for interprofessional learning among nursing students to promote IPE. While a proactive personality might impact readiness for interprofessional learning, its specific role has remained unspecified., Objective: To examine the mediation effects of perceived social support and professional identity on the association between proactive personality and readiness for interprofessional learning among nursing students., Design: The study utilised a cross-sectional design., Settings: Research was conducted at two universities and two vocational schools in Hainan Province, China., Participants: On-campus nursing students were invited to participate between March and May 2023., Methods: A flyer was distributed to the participants with a QR code to scan to voluntarily complete the online survey, including the Readiness for Interprofessional Learning Scale (RIPLS), Proactive Personality Scale, Perceived Social Support Scale and Professional Identity Status Questionnaire Scale 5d. Descriptive analysis, Pearson associations and mediation analysis were conducted using SPSS software version 26.0 and PROCESS version 4.2 for SPSS., Results: The participants' average RIPLS score was 66.93 ± 9.28. Proactive personality (r = 0.633, p < 0.01), perceived social support (r = 0.605, p < 0.01) and professional identity (r = 0.549, p < 0.01) were all positively related to readiness for interprofessional learning. Meanwhile, the relationship between proactive personality and readiness for interprofessional learning was partly mediated by perceived social support (25.15 %), professional identity (13.35 %) and the chain effects (9.48 %) of perceived social support and professional identity., Conclusions: The nursing students in Hainan, China demonstrated a medium level of readiness for interprofessional learning. Background: Postoperative pulmonary complication (PPC) is a leading cause of mortality and poor outcomes in postoperative patients. No studies have enrolled intensive care unit (ICU) patients after noncardiac thoracic surgery, and effective prediction models for PPC have not been developed. This study aimed to explore the incidence and risk factors and construct prediction models for PPC in these patients., Methods: This study retrospectively recruited patients admitted to the ICU after noncardiac thoracic surgery at West China Hospital, Sichuan University, from July 2019 to December 2022. The patients were randomly divided into a development cohort and a validation cohort at a 70% versus 30% ratio. The preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative variables during the ICU stay were compared. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were applied to identify candidate predictors, establish prediction models, and compare the accuracy of the models with that of reported risk models., Results: A total of 475 ICU patients were enrolled after noncardiac thoracic surgery (median age, 58; 72% male). At least one PPC occurred in 171 patients (36.0%), and the most common PPC was pneumonia (153/475, 32.21%). PPC significantly increased the duration of mechanical ventilation (p < 0.001), length of ICU stay (p < 0.001), length of hospital stay (LOS) (p < 0.001), and rate of reintubation (p = 0.047) in ICU patients. Seven risk factors were identified, and then the prediction nomograms for PPC were constructed. At ICU admission, the area under the curve (AUC) was 0.766, with a sensitivity of 0.71 and specificity of 0.60; after extubation, the AUC was 0.841, with a sensitivity of 0.75 and specificity of 0.83. The models showed robust discrimination in both the development cohort and the validation cohort, and they were well calibrated and more accurate than reported risk models., Conclusions: ICU patients who underwent noncardiac thoracic surgery were at high risk of developing PPCs. Prediction nomograms were constructed and they were more accurate than reported risk models, with excellent sensitivity and specificity. Background: This study aimed to assess the association between outdoor activity and myopia among children and adolescents and investigate whether sleep time could mediate this relationship., Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on students aged 4-16 years in China, from August 2021 to January 2022. Outdoor activity was assessed by the Assessment Questionnaire of Exposure to Sunlight Activities for Students (AQESAS). Binary logistic regression combined with the mediation analysis was used to analyze the association of AQESAS with myopia and the mediating effect of sleep time on this relationship., Results: The prevalence of myopia was 53.51% (N = 1609). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that more sleep time (OR = 0.794, 95%CI: 0.707-0.893) and a higher score of AQESAS (OR = 0.989, 95%CI: 0.981-0.996) were significantly associated with a decreased risk of myopia. Mediation analysis revealed that sleep time plays a mediating role in the association between outdoor activity and myopia (ACME = -0.0006, P < 0.001), and the mediation proportion was 19.7%., Conclusion: Outdoor activity affects myopia directly and indirectly through sleep time. The result suggested that children may be able to reduce the risk of myopia by promoting sleep through increased awareness of outdoor activity and exposure to sunlight., (© The Author(s) 2024. The aim of this study was to investigate the prevalence of Vibrionaceae family in retail seafood products available in the Qidong market during the summer of 2023 and to characterize Vibrio parahaemolyticus isolates, given that this bacterium is the leading cause of seafood-associated food poisoning. We successfully isolated a total of 240 Vibrionaceae strains from a pool of 718 seafood samples. The breakdown of the isolates included 146 Photobacterium damselae, 59 V. parahaemolyticus, 18 V. campbellii, and 11 V. alginolyticus. Among these, P. damselae and V. parahaemolyticus were the predominant species, with respective prevalence rates of 20.3% and 8.2%. Interestingly, all 59 isolates of V. parahaemolyticus were identified as non-pathogenic. They demonstrated proficiency in swimming and swarming motility and were capable of forming biofilms across a range of temperatures. In terms of antibiotic resistance, the V. parahaemolyticus isolates showed high resistance to ampicillin, intermediate resistance to cefuroxime and cefazolin, and were sensitive to the other antibiotics evaluated. Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the epidemiological characteristics and antibiotic resistance patterns of Ureaplasma urealyticum (UU) infection among women and children in southwest China., Methods: A total of 8,934 specimens, including urogenital swabs and throat swabs were analyzed in this study. All samples were tested using RNA-based Simultaneous Amplification and Testing (SAT) methods. Culture and drug susceptibility tests were performed on UU positive patients., Results: Among the 8,934 patients, the overall positive rate for UU was 47.92%, with a higher prevalence observed among women of reproductive age and neonates. The majority of UU positive outpatients were women of reproductive age (88.03%), while the majority of UU positive inpatients were neonates (93.99%). Overall, hospitalization rates due to UU infection were significantly higher in neonates than in women. Further analysis among neonatal inpatients revealed a higher incidence of preterm birth and low birth weight in UU positive inpatients (52.75% and 3.65%, respectively) than in UU negative inpatients (44.64% and 2.89%, respectively), especially in very preterm and extremely preterm neonates. Moreover, the incidence rate of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) among hospitalized neonatal patients was significantly higher in the UU positive group (6.89%) than in the UU negative group (4.18%). The drug susceptibility tests of UU in the neonatology, gynecology and obstetrics departments exhibited consistent sensitivity patterns to antibiotics, with high sensitivity to tetracyclines and macrolides, and low sensitivity to fluoroquinolones. Notably, UU samples collected from the neonatology department exhibited significantly higher sensitivity to azithromycin and erythromycin (93.8% and 92.9%, respectively) than those collected from the gynecology and obstetrics departments., Conclusions: This study enhances our understanding of the current epidemiological characteristics and antibiotic resistance patterns of UU infection among women and children in southwest China. Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease and one of the fastest- growing global health emergencies of the 21st century. The relationships between hope level, social support, disease perception, and self-management behaviors are still unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to create a structural equation model to investigate the underlying mechanisms of self-management behaviors in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and provide a theoretical basis for future interventions., Methods: By using cross-sectional studies and convenience sampling methods. A survey was conducted from June 2023 to April 2024 on 404 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at the First and Third Hospitals of Jinzhou Medical University. Data were collected using scales, including the General Information Questionnaire, the Herth Hope Scale, the Social Support Rating Scale, the Brief Disease Perception Questionnaire, and the Diabetes Self-Management Behavior Scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis, Harman's one-way analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation test, structural equation modeling, and the bootstrap method to verify mediating effects., Results: Correlation analyses showed that all four variables were significantly correlated with each other (p < 0.01). Social support had the strongest correlation with self-management behavior (β = 0.554, p < 0.01), followed by hope level (β = 0.543, p < 0.01), and disease perception (β = -0.505, p < 0.01). The structural equation model indicated a strong overall fit (χ 2 /df = 3.378, GFI = 0.926, CFI = 0.924, IFI = 0.925, TLI = 0.903, RMSEA = 0.077)., Conclusion: Overall, the chain mediation of social support and disease perception was significant. In developing targeted intervention strategies, future research should prioritize enhancing hope, optimizing social support, and reducing negative perceptions of disease by patients as key areas of focus. Background: Studies on the prevalence of suicidal ideation (SI) and its associated factors among the elderly in China show considerable variability. This meta-analysis aims to clarify the epidemiological features of SI in this population., Methods: We systematically searched English and Chinese databases for relevant literature up to September 15, 2022. The extracted data facilitated the calculation of prevalence and odds ratios (ORs) for factors associated with SI among China's elderly., Results: We analyzed 31 cross-sectional studies, comprising a total of 79,861 participants from over 20 provinces and municipalities. The pooled prevalence of SI was found to be 11.47% [95% confidence interval (CI): 7.82-15.71%]. Significant variations in prevalence were influenced by residence, physical health (including chronic diseases and daily living capabilities), mental health (depressive symptoms and life satisfaction), economic status, and time-specific assessment tools. Notably, the prevalence from 2011-2020 (15.59%, 95% CI: 9.08-23.44%) was almost double that of 2001-2010 (7.85%, 95% CI: 5.08-11.16%). The SI prevalence in the eastern region (8.06%, 95% CI 5.59-10.94%) was significantly lower than in the central and western regions (16.97%, 95% CI 12.04-22.53%). Fourteen factors exhibited a significant pooled OR greater than 1 (p < 0.05), and two factors had ORs less than 1 (p < 0.05), indicating notable association with SI among the elderly., Conclusion: SI among China's elderly showed relatively high prevalence and considerable heterogeneity across different characteristics and associated factors. Objectives: This study translated the short nutrition literacy scale for young adults (18-35 years) into Chinese, examined its reliability and validity, and analyzed its influencing factors., Methods: The scale was translated using a modified Brislin translation model. A convenience sample of 508 cases was selected for the survey. Content validity, structural validity, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and test-retest reliability were used to evaluate the scale's reliability and validity. To screen the factors influencing nutrition literacy in young people., Results: The Chinese version of the Item-Level Content Validity Index (I-CVI) was 0.833 ~ 1, and the Scale-Level Content Validity Index/Average (S-CVI/Ave) was 0.908. The cumulative variance contribution of the scale was 51.029%, and the model was generally well-fitted. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient and retest reliability of the scale were 0.826 and 0.818. The results showed that the level of education, mother's education, nutrition-related courses, and frequency of attention to nutritional health information were the factors influencing the nutritional literacy of young people., Conclusion: The Chinese version of the S-NutLit Scale can effectively assess the nutrients of young Chinese people. Low levels of education, low levels of education of mothers, lack of exposure to nutrition-related courses, and low frequency of attention to nutritional health information can lead to lower levels of nutritional literacy among young people., (© 2024. Background: Many individuals consider nocturia a significant nuisance, leading to a reduced health-related quality of life (HRQOL). However, there has been a lack of psychometrically sound patient-reported outcome measures to assess the impact of nocturia on patients in Chinese contexts. This study aimed to translate, culturally adapt, and validate the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire Nocturia Quality of Life Module (ICIQ-NQOL) for use among primary care patients in Hong Kong, China. Additionally, it sought to investigate the mechanisms that link nocturia and sleep quality with HRQOL by employing moderated mediation analysis., Methods: The traditional Chinese version of the ICIQ-NQOL was developed through iterative translations, cognitive debriefing interviews, and panel reviews. The psychometric evaluation included assessments of factor structure, convergent validity, concurrent validity, known-group validity, internal consistency, test-retest reliability and responsiveness. Study instruments included the ICIQ-NQOL, International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), and a modified Incontinence Impact Questionnaire-Short Form (IIQ-7)., Results: A total of 419 primary care patients were recruited from general outpatient clinics, among whom 228 experiencing an average of two or more nocturia episodes per night over the past four weeks. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the two-factor structure of the ICIQ-NQOL. Concurrent validity was confirmed by moderate correlations between the IIQ-7 total score and the total score as well as two domain scores of the ICIQ-NQOL (r ranging from 0.43 to 0.49, all p < 0.001). The ICIQ-NQOL also had moderate correlations with the IPSS total symptom score (r ranging from 0.40 to 0.48, all p < 0.001). Convergent validity was supported by moderate correlations between the global PSQI score and the total score as well as two domain scores of the ICIQ-NQOL (r ranging from 0.42 to 0.52, all p < 0.001). Known-group comparisons showed that the ICIQ-NQOL could differentiate between patients with and without nocturia in terms of sleep/energy domain score (p < 0.001), bother/concern domain score (p < 0.001), and total score (p < 0.001), each demonstrating a moderate Cohen's d effect size. Item-total correlations corrected for overlap exceeded 0.4, and Cronbach's alpha coefficients were greater than 0.7. Test-retest reliability was confirmed with intraclass correlation coefficients exceeding 0.7 among patients reporting no change in their nocturia symptoms at a 2-week follow-up. Regarding responsiveness, the Cohen's d effect sizes for differences in domain and total scores between the baseline and 2-week follow-up assessments were greater than 0.3 among patients showing improvement in nocturia. Our moderated mediation analysis indicated that sleep quality significantly moderated the impact of nocturia on HRQOL, with a notably stronger indirect effect among females compared to males., Conclusions: The ICIQ-NQOL is a reliable and valid instrument for assessing the HRQOL in primary care patients suffering from nocturia. Mobile health applications (mHealth apps) have surged in popularity for their role in promoting knowledge exchange and providing emotional support among health consumers. However, this enhanced social connectivity via these apps has led to an escalation in privacy breaches, potentially hindering user engagement. Drawing upon the communication privacy management theory, this study proposes a moderated mediation model to link social privacy concerns to user engagement in mHealth apps. An online survey involving 1149 mHealth app users was conducted in China to empirically validate the proposed model. Results indicated that social privacy concerns were negatively related to user engagement in mHealth apps, and perceived privacy of the app partially mediated this relationship. Moreover, perceived control positively moderated the indirect relationship between social privacy concerns and user engagement via perceived privacy. Specifically, the negative impact of social privacy concerns on perceived privacy was mitigated for users who reported higher levels of perceived control, indicating that when users feel more in control of their personal data, they are less affected by concerns over social privacy. Theoretically, this study has the potential to help scholars understand user engagement in mHealth apps from a privacy management perspective. Purpose: The "en caul" cesarean section (CS) is a method to keep the amnion intact during CS. This amnion protection effect may have benefits in preterm twin pregnancy. This study aimed to explore the benefits and risks of this method in preterm twin pregnancy., Methods: This study is a retrospective analysis of preterm twin pregnancies underwent CS in West China Second University Hospital of Sichuan University from January 2011 to December 2022. Data on maternal and fetal outcomes were collected. Univariable analyses and multivariate logistic regression analyses were applied. The level of significance was set at p < 0.05., Results: A total of 182 patients were included (90 in the "en caul" group, 92 in the conventional group). "en caul" CS was associated with lower incidence for respiratory distress (aOR 0.47, 95% CI 0.25-0.88, for the first fetus; aOR 0.42, 95% CI 0.21-0.82, for the second fetus). This method was proved to have beneficial effects in improving the Apgar scores at 1st minute and reducing the mechanical ventilation rate in the second neonates (aOR 0.41, 95% CI 0.19-0.88)., Conclusion: "En caul" CS is an easy and safe technique to perform during CS for preterm twin pregnancy. In this prospective, multicenter, Phase 2 clinical trial (NCT02987244), patients with peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCLs) who had responded to first-line chemotherapy with cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin or epirubicin, vincristine or vindesine, etoposide, and prednisone (Chi-CHOEP) were treated by autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) or with chidamide maintenance or observation. A total of 85 patients received one of the following interventions: ASCT (n = 15), chidamide maintenance (n = 44), and observation (n = 26). estimated 3 PFS and OS rates were 85.6%, 80.8%, and 49.4% (P = 0.001). The two-year OS rates were 85.6%, 80.8%, and 69.0% (P = 0.075).The ASCT and chidamide maintenance groups had significantly better progression-free survival (PFS) than the observation group (P = 0.001, and P = 0.01, respectively). The overall survival (OS) differed significantly between the chidamide maintenance group and the observation group ( P = 0.041). The multivariate and propensity score matching analyses for PFS revealed better outcomes in the subjects in the chidamide maintenance than observation groups (P = 0.02). The ASCT and chidamide maintenance groups had significant survival advantages over the observation group. In the post-remission stage of the untreated PTCL patients, single-agent chidamide maintenance demonstrated superior PFS and better OS than observation. Our findings highlight the potential benefit of chidamide in this patient subset, warranting further investigation through larger prospective trials. The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the mental health of children and adolescents worldwide. While various factors contributing to this phenomenon have been explored, the role of learning style preferences remains underexamined. This cross-sectional study, conducted between October and November 2020, involved over 20,000 participants, including students from junior high school, senior high school, and undergraduate levels. Significant differences in depressive mood levels were observed among individuals with different learning modality preferences upon the return to traditional, in-person learning. Students with in-person learning preferences exhibited lower depression levels, while students with no preference for either learning style outperformed devotees of remote learning. The highest depression occurred among those endorsing neither learning mode. Importantly, the impact of these preferences on depressive moods was found to be moderated by COVID-19 infection experiences. The findings highlight the nuanced relationship between learning style preferences, COVID-19 infection experiences, and mental health outcomes among students. Acknowledging the moderating effect of infection experiences is crucial for developing targeted interventions and adapting pedagogical approaches post-pandemic. Background: Evaluating the risk of relapse is a pivotal step in the treatment of patients with methamphetamine use disorder (MUD). The 30-item Stimulant Relapse Risk Scale (SRRS) was originally developed in Japan to meet the demand. This study examined the reliability, validity, and factor structure of the Chinese version of the SRRS for patients with MUD., Methods: 247 patients with MUD self-rated the Chinese version of the SRRS. Cronbach's alpha coefficients and inter-item correlation analysis were used to assess the internal consistency reliability. Construct validity was determined through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and concurrent validity was examined using the visual analogue scale (VAS) for drug craving and the severity of dependence scale (SDS). We followed the participants for 1 year and assessed the predictive validity based on the correlation of the scores of the Chinese version of the SRRS with the relapse rate within 3, 6, and 12 months of follow-up., Results: CFA revealed satisfactory model fit estimates for the 22-item Chinese version of the SRRS that consisted of four subscales. The four-factored 22-item Chinese version of the SRRS had adequate internal consistency with Cronbach's alphas ranging from 0.76 to 0.92. The 22-item Chinese version of the SRRS scores were significantly correlated with the VAS and SDS scores as well as the relapse rate within 3, 6, and 12 months, indicating good concurrent and predictive validity of this scale. The receiver operating characteristic curve revealed a cutoff score of 40 could discriminate between participants with (SDS score ≥ 4) and without (SDS score < 4) methamphetamine dependence (area under the curve = 0.71, p < 0.01)., Conclusions: The 22-item Chinese version of the SRRS that consists of four subscales is a valid and reliable instrument to assess the relapse risk in patients with MUD., (© 2024. Background: The Omicron variant broke out in China at the end of 2022, causing a considerable number of severe cases and even deaths. The study aimed to identify risk factors for death in patients hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2 Omicron infection and to establish a scoring system for predicting mortality., Methods: 1817 patients were enrolled at eight hospitals in China from December 2022 to May 2023, including 815 patients in the training group and 1002 patients in the validation group. Forty-six clinical and laboratory features were screened using LASSO regression and multivariable logistic regression., Results: In the training set, 730 patients were discharged and 85 patients died. In the validation set, 918 patients were discharged and 84 patients died. LASSO regression identified age, levels of interleukin (IL) -6, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), and D-dimer; neutrophil count, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as associated with mortality. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that older age, IL-6, BUN, LDH and D-dimer were significant independent risk factors. Based on these variables, a scoring system was developed with a sensitivity of 83.6% and a specificity of 83.5% in the training group, and a sensitivity of 79.8% and a sensitivity of 83.0% in the validation group., Conclusions: A scoring system based on age, IL-6, BUN, LDH and D-dime can help clinicians identify patients with poor prognosis early., (© 2024. Background: Many factors contribute to quality of life (QoL) in patients with schizophrenia, yet limited research examined these factors in patients in China. This cross-sectional study explores subjective QoL and its associated factors in patients., Methods: The QoL was assessed using the Schizophrenia Quality of Life Scale (SQLS). Clinical symptoms were evaluated using the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS) and seven factors were extracted. Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), and Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7) were used to assess depression and anxiety. Cognitive impairment was assessed using the Ascertain Dementia 8 (AD8). The Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale (TESS) and Rating Scale for Extrapyramidal Side Effects (RSESE) were used to evaluate the side effects of medications., Results: We recruited 270 patients (male:142,52.6%, mean age:41.9 ± 9.4 years). Positive correlations were observed between SQLS and its subdomains with the total score of BPRS, PHQ-9, GAD-7, AD8, TESS, and RSESE (all P < 0.005). Patients who were taking activating second-generation antipsychotics (SGAs) had lower scores on total SQLS, Motivation/ Energy domain of SQLS (SQLS-ME) as well as Symptoms/ Side effects domain of SQLS (SQLS-SS) compared to those taking non-activating SGAs (all P < 0.005). Multiple regression analysis showed that depressive/ anxiety symptoms and cognitive impairment had significant negative effects on QoL (P ≤ 0.001), while activating SGAs had a positive effect (P < 0.005). Blunted affect and unemployment were inversely associated with the motivation/energy domain (P < 0.001)., Conclusion: Our findings emphasize the important role of depression/anxiety symptoms and cognitive impairment in the QoL of patients with chronic schizophrenia. Objective: To estigate the relationship between social support, self-efficacy, coping style, and self-perceived burden and the mechanisms that underlie the action in Chinese OSA patients., Methods: Between October 2022 and June 2023,316 OSA patients from two hospitals were surveyed. Data were collected using the General Demographic Characteristics Questionnaire, Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), Self-Efficacy for Chronic Disease Scale (SECD6), and Simple Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ). Correlation analysis was performed using Pearson correlation. Regression analysis was performed using multiple linear regression analysis. The mediation effect analysis was performed using the Process macro (version 3.4.1) in SPSS., Results: (1)This study confirmed that social support, self-efficacy, and coping styles had significant negative predictions regarding self-perceived burden. Background and Aims: It has been reported that maresin 1 (MaR1) is able to protect against the development of atherogenesis in cellular and animal models. This study was performed to investigate whether plasma MaR1 is associated with the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) at the population level., Methods and Results: The study included 2822 non-ASCVD participants from a community-based cohort who were followed for about 8 years. Hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) for ASCVD events according to baseline MaR1 quartiles were calculated using the Cox proportional hazards model. During follow-up, a total of 290 new ASCVD cases were identified. The restricted cubic spline analysis indicated a linear dose-response association between plasma MaR1 and incident ASCVD. In addition, the adjusted-HR (95% CI) for ASCVD events associated with one standard deviation increase in MaR1 was 0.79 (0.68-0.91). Moreover, the adjusted-HRs (95% CIs) for ASCVD events associated with the second, third and fourth quartiles versus the first quartile of plasma MaR1 were 1.00, 1.04 (0.76, 1.42), 0.88 (0.64, 1.22) and 0.58 (0.41, 0.84), respectively. Mediation analyses showed that the association between MaR1 and incident ASCVD was partially mediated by small dense low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, with a mediation proportion of 9.23%. Objective: We analyzed quantitative computed tomography (CT) and chemical shift-encoded magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data from a Chinese cohort to investigate the effects of BMI and aging on different adipose tissue (AT) depots., Methods: In 400 healthy, community-dwelling individuals aged 22 to 83 years, we used MRI to quantify proton density fat fraction (PDFF) of the lumbar spine (L2-L4) bone marrow AT (BMAT), the psoas major and erector spinae (ES) muscles, and the liver. Abdominal total AT, visceral AT (VAT), and subcutaneous AT (SAT) areas were measured at the L2-L3 level using quantitative CT. Partial correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationship of each AT variable with age and BMI. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed in which each AT variable was evaluated in turn as a function of age and the other five independent AT measurements., Results: Of the 168 men, 29% had normal BMI (<24.0 kg/m 2 ), 47% had overweight (24.0-27.9 kg/m 2 ), and 24% had obesity (≥ 28.0 kg/m 2 ). In the 232 women, the percentages were 46%, 32%, and 22%, respectively. Strong or very strong correlations with BMI were found for total AT, VAT, and SAT in both sexes. BMAT and ES PDFF was strongly correlated with age in women and moderately correlated in men. In both sexes, BMAT PDFF correlated only with age and not with any of the other AT depots. Psoas PDFF correlated only with ES PDFF and not with age or the other AT depots. Liver PDFF correlated with BMI and VAT and weakly with SAT in men. The study aimed to translate the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory into traditional Chinese (GAI-TC), examine its psychometric properties, and identify the optimal cutoff point. This research recruited 337 older adults from two community activity centers. Structured questionnaires were used, including demographic information and characteristics, the GAI-TC, and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI). Cronbach's α of the GAI-TC was 0.93. The intraclass correlation coefficient was 0.90. The content validity index was 1.0. An exploratory factor analysis revealed that three factors in the GAI-TC, including cognition anxiety, impact of anxiety, and somatic anxiety, explained 59.46 % of the variance. The criterion-related validity showed a significant positive correlation between the GAI-TC and STAI, with an optimal cutoff of 9/10 for detecting anxiety in older persons living in the community. Background: The prevalence of congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) varies across countries, with limited information available on its epidemiology in China. Our study aimed to investigate the prevalence, time trends, and perinatal outcomes of CDH in China, as well as its associated malformations and potential associations with maternal and infant characteristics., Methods: This study included all birth and CDH cases from the Chinese Birth Defects Monitoring Network between 2007 and 2019, with CDH cases classified as either isolated or associated. We employed the joinpoint regression model to calculate the trends of prevalence and the annual percent change, with Poisson regression used for adjusted prevalence rate ratios. A P value ≤ 0.05 was considered statistically significant., Results: A total of 4397 CDH cases were identified among 24,158,029 births in the study period, yielding prevalence rates of 1.82, 1.13 and 0.69 per 10,000 for overall, isolated, and associated CDH, respectively. The prevalence of each type of CDH increased over time. The prevalence of overall CDH varied significantly by infant sex (male vs. female, 1.91/10,000 vs. 1.63/10,000), maternal residence (urban vs. rural, 2.13/10,000 vs. 1.45/10,000), maternal age (< 20 years, 1.31/10,000; 20-24 years, 1.63/10,000; 25-29 years, 1.80/10,000; 30-34 years, 1.87/10,000; ≥ 35 years, 2.22/10,000), and geographic region (central, 1.64/10,000; east, 2.45/10,000; west, 1.37/10,000). Cardiovascular anomalies were the most common malformations associated with CDH. Infants with associated CDH had a higher risk of premature birth and perinatal death than those with isolated CDH., Conclusion: The increasing prevalence and high perinatal mortality rate of CDH highlight the need for further etiological, epidemiological, and clinical studies among the Chinese population. In order to assess the risk of pesticides to aquatic ecosystems, five single-dose pesticides including chlorpyrifos, pymetrozine, dinotefuran, azoxystrobin, and acetochlor that are frequently used in developing countries, were selected. Based on the principle of conservative risk assessment, application amounts for different dosage forms were recommended, the Top-Rice model and risk quotient method were used to evaluate the aquatic ecological risk of the aforementioned single-dose pesticide products. The results showed that predicted peak environmental concentration ranges after application on rice were 110.52-564.25 μg/L for chlorpyrifos, 20.79-114.6 μg/L for pymetrozine, 21.81-114.02 μg/L for dinotefuran, 16.52-56.94 μg/L for azoxystrobin, and 167.22-2184.01 μg/L for acetochlor in different seasons of Changsha, Hangzhou, Nanning in China, and Lahore and Faisalabad in Pakistan. Under the current conditions of registered administration, the acute and chronic risks posed by chlorpyrifos to fish and invertebrates were deemed alarming, and those by pymetrozine and dinotefuran were considered acceptable. The acute risk of exposure of azoxystrobin to vertebrates such as fish, and invertebrates such as daphnia and shrimp is alarming, whereas the chronic risk to vertebrates, invertebrates, and algae was acceptable. The acute exposure risk posed by acetochlor was deemed worrying, and in the case of chronic exposure, only 36 % of the simulation group exhibited a risk quotient below 1, indicating no risk. These findings imply that the ecological risks of using registered chlorpyrifos and acetochlor products on rice cannot be ignored. It should be noted that the analysis method and model employed in this study were intentionally conservative to ensure a comprehensive assessment of the potential risks associated with the use of registered pesticide products. Cooking oil fumes (COF) are known to emit a wide range of organic compounds with significant impacts on human health and urban air quality. This study used HPLC-QToF-MS and Vocus PTR-TOF to explore the chemical constituents and influencing factors of the COF generated from eight typical Chinese dishes representing different areas in a laboratory kitchen. The results revealed that both CHO and CHON compounds exhibited strong reducibility and saturability, with CHO compounds being the dominant and CHON compounds showing greater diversity. 24 among 168 CHO compounds were identical with those generated from heating soybean oil, representing 72.4%-92.3% in abundance and 22.2%-29.2% in quantity. That was 5 among 113 CHON compounds, accounting for 7.8%-10% in abundance and 4.7%-6.7% in quantity. These findings suggest that the major CHO compounds from heating soybean oil continued to dominate the abundances in dishes. The diversity of CHO compounds and the presence of CHON compounds were influenced by the food ingredients. The VOC analysis indicated that oxygen-containing organics were the major components. 6 identical VOC species between cooking dishes and heating soybean oil were identified, comprising 36.02%-67.84% of the total VOCs mass. Background: The current study sought to investigate the correlation between vitamin D supplementation in pregnant women with vitamin D deficiency in early pregnancy and the incidence of prenatal depression prior to delivery., Methods: This is a retrospective, single-center study that was conducted at a tertiary hospital in Chengdu, China. We conducted an analysis on pregnant women who were initially diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency at 12-14 weeks of gestation. After starting vitamin D supplementation at a dose of 800 IU daily from 14 weeks onwards, we measured both their vitamin D concentration and depression scores again during median gestational week 39 prior to delivery., Results: The study cohort comprised 1365 women who had been diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency at 12-14 weeks of gestation between November 1st, 2021 to November 1st, 2022. 537 pairs were matched based on a propensity score to control for other confounding factors. After propensity score matching, the baseline vitamin D levels were made consistent between the groups (P = 0.512). The incidence of depression in patients in vitamin D deficiency group following vitamin D supplementation was significantly higher than insufficiency group and reached statistical significance (P < 0.001). Additionally, we observed that serum 25-(OH) D concentration achieving insufficiency status after supplementation was 59.12%., Conclusion: Our study indicates that daily supplementation of 800IU of vitamin D can improve the depressive symptoms of individuals who are vitamin D deficiency during early pregnancy but achieve vitamin D insufficiency after supplementation during prenatal period., (© 2024. Background: Haemochromatosis is a genetic disease characterized by the excessive deposition of iron in various tissues and organs, eventually results in organ damage including cirrhosis, diabetes, cardiomyopathy, etc. SLC40A1-related haemochromatosis is associated with gain-of-function mutations in the SLC40A1 gene, which encodes ferroportin. While sporadic reports of this condition exist in mainland China, the understanding of the phenotype and genetic pattern associated with the SLC40A1 p.Y333H mutation remains incomplete., Case Presentation: We report a pedigree with heterozygous p.Y333H mutation in Chinese Han population. The proband is a 64-year-old man complaining of persistent abnormality of liver enzyme levels for 1 year, with a history of knee joint pain, diabetes and skin pigmentation. He displayed markedly elevated serum ferritin level and transferrin saturation. Magnetic resonance imaging showed iron deposition in the liver, spleen, and pancreas, along with cirrhosis and splenomegaly. Whole exome sequencing identified a heterozygous allelic variant c.997T > C (p.Y333H). Genetic screening of family members identified four first-degree relatives and three second-degree relatives having the same mutation. Additional cases with this mutation from two published studies were included. Among the probands and screened relatives, all eight males aged over 30 y had ferritin level > 1000 µg/L, transferrin saturation > 90%. Four patients with organ damage in the present study received therapeutic phlebotomy, alleviating clinical symptoms and improving in transferrin saturation and serum ferritin., Conclusions: This study reports the largest pedigree with heterozygous SLC40A1 p.Y333H mutation in the Chinese population to date. China is a major livestock producer confronting the dual challenges of rising demand for animal-based food consumption and decreasing carbon emissions. To effectively address these issues, it is crucial to understand the trends of carbon emissions from animal husbandry and the competitive advantages of carbon emission reduction in different regions. This study uses panel data from 31 provinces from 2004 to 2020 to investigate the contributing factors to carbon emissions and explore ways to reduce carbon intensity in animal husbandry. The analysis employs spatial shift-share analysis and the spatial Durbin model. Our findings indicate that life-cycle carbon emissions associated with animal husbandry in China decreased from 572.411 Mt CO 2 eq to 520.413 Mt CO 2 eq over time, with an average annual decline of 0.568 %. The annual contribution of output value and internal industry-mix adjustment to carbon emission growth is 22.639 MT CO 2 eq and 6.226 MT CO 2 eq, respectively. On the other hand, the annual contribution of carbon efficiency improvement to carbon emission reduction is much higher, at 36.316 MT CO 2 eq. However, there is significant regional heterogeneity in the spatial decomposition of the carbon efficiency change component. The Northeastern region, Northwest and along the Great Wall demonstrate neighborhood advantages in enhancing carbon efficiency. In contrast, the South China and Southwest regions rely more on local carbon efficiency advantages to reduce the carbon intensity of animal husbandry. Furthermore, the carbon intensity in local and neighboring areas can be reduced through environmental regulations and industrial agglomeration. While technical progress significantly negatively impacts carbon intensity in neighboring regions, it does not contribute to reducing the carbon intensity of local animal husbandry. The global public health concern of nitrate (NO 3 - , assess potential health risks for local residents, and quantitatively identify nitrate sources during different seasons and land use types in the Jinghuiqu Irrigation District, a region in northwestern China with a longstanding agricultural history. The investigation utilizes hydrochemical parameters, dual isotopic data, and the Bayesian stable isotope mixing model (MixSIAR). The findings underscore significant seasonal variations in the average concentrations of NO 3 - , assess potential health risks for local residents, and quantitatively identify nitrate sources during different seasons and land use types in the Jinghuiqu Irrigation District, a region in northwestern China with a longstanding agricultural history. The investigation utilizes hydrochemical parameters, dual isotopic data, and the Bayesian stable isotope mixing model (MixSIAR). The findings underscore significant seasonal variations in the average concentrations of NO 3 - , with values of 87.72 mg/L and 101.87 mg/L during the wet and dry seasons, respectively. Furthermore, distinct fluctuations in nitrate concentration were observed across different land use types, whereby vegetable lands manifested the maximum concentration. Prolonged exposure to elevated nitrate concentrations may pose potential health risks to residents, especially in the dry season when the non-carcinogenic groundwater nitrate risk surges past its wet season counterpart. The MixSIAR analysis revealed that chemical fertilizers accounted for the majority of nitrate pollution in vegetable lands, both during the dry season (49.6%) and wet season (41.2%). In contrast, manure and sewage contributed significantly to NO 3 - concentrations in residential land during the wet (74.9%) and dry seasons (67.6%). For croplands, soil nitrogen emerged as a dominant source during the wet season (42.2%), while chemical fertilizers prevailed in the dry season (38.7%). In addition to source variations, the nitrate concentration of groundwater is further affected by hydrogeological conditions, with more permeable aquifers tending to display higher nitrate concentrations. Background: To explore the effect of dance art on the treatment of hospitalized patients with chronic schizophrenia., Methods: In a prospective randomized controlled study conducted from June 2019 to June 2020, 120 patients from Shanghai Pudong New Area Mental Health Center were divided into intervention (n = 60) and control (n = 60) groups using a random number table. Control patients received standard drug treatment and nursing care, while the intervention group underwent dance art therapy sessions for 90 minutes twice weekly, in addition to standard care. Treatment outcomes after 6 and 12 weeks were measured using the positive and negative symptom scale (PANSS), Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale (MoCA), and body mass index (BMI)., Results: This study involved 120 male patients with chronic schizophrenia, aged 30 to 60 years. After 6 and 12 weeks, the intervention group showed a greater reduction in PANSS scores (intervention group: from 49.02 ± 2.53 to 37.02 ± 1.83, control group: from 49.08 ± 2.59 to 44.91 ± 2.35, P < .05). In the WCST, the intervention group exhibited a higher increase in classification completion and correct answers, and a greater decrease in errors (P < .05). MoCA scores improved significantly in the intervention group compared to the control group (P < .05). BMI decreased in both groups, with a more pronounced reduction in the intervention group (intervention group: from 26.47 ± 1.05 kg/m² to 22.87 ± 0.73 kg/m², control group: from 26.50 ± 1.03 kg/m² to 26.22 ± 0.80 kg/m², P < .05)., Conclusion: Based on routine drug treatment and routine nursing care, dance art has a better clinical effect in treating hospitalized patients with chronic schizophrenia, which can improve cognitive function, alleviate clinical symptoms, and reduce BMI., Competing Interests: The authors have no conflicts of interest to disclose., (Copyright © 2024 the Author(s). The systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to ascertain the prevalence of anemia, iron deficiency (ID), and iron deficiency anemia (IDA) among Chinese pregnant women. A total of 722 articles on maternal anemia during pregnancy published between January 2010 and December 2020 were compiled, and a systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted on 57 eligible studies including 1,376,204 pregnant women to ascertain the prevalence of anemia and the prevalence in different subgroups. The results showed that the prevalence of anemia, ID, and IDA among pregnant women in China were 30.7% (95% CI: 26.6%, 34.7%), 45.6% (95% CI: 37.0%, 54.2%), and 17.3% (95% CI: 13.9%, 20.7%), respectively. All prevalence increased with the progression of the pregnancy. There were sizable regional variations in the prevalence of anemia, ID, and IDA. Generally, lower prevalence was observed in the economically more advanced eastern region of the country, while the prevalence of ID was higher in the eastern region than that in the western region. The prevalence of anemia and IDA in rural areas was higher than that in urban areas, but ID prevalence was higher in urban areas. In conclusion, the regional differences and urban-rural disparities in the prevalence of anemia indicate the need for more context-specific interventions to prevent and treat anemia. It was found that dietary factors were one of the major causes of anemia, and iron-containing supplements and nutrition counseling could be effective interventions to reduce the prevalence of anemia, ID, and IDA among Chinese pregnant women.

Effective microorganisms (EM) might alleviate deterioration of soil environmental quality and yield decline of pepper ( Capsicum annuum ) caused by continuous replanting and imbalanced fertilizer application in Xinjiang. We investigated the effects of applying EM microbial agent on the growth of pepper plants, yield, soil nutrient content, soil enzyme activity, and rhizosphere eukaryotic community. The results showed that the application of EM microbial agent increased plant height, stem diameter, leaf length, leaf width and root length by 22.6%, 35.3%, 33.3%, 29.7% and 15.1%, respectively. It also increased fruit width, individual fruit weight, and yield by 5.3%, 42.9%, and 74.7%, respectively. After the application of EM microbial agent, the levels of soil available nitrogen increased by 10.2% and 5.8% during the flowering and maturity stages, respectively. Similarly, available phosphorus increased by 10.4% and 13.4%, respectively. The soil sucrase activity was increased by 40.7%, 14.6%, and 9.3% during the seedling, flowering, and maturity stages, respectively. Urease activity was also increased by 7.9%, 10.2%, and 11.5%, respectively. Furthermore, the application of EM microbial agent increased soil peroxidase activity by 16.8% and 44.6% at flowering and maturity stages, respectively. The application of microbial agent significantly altered the β-diversity of the rhizosphere eukaryotic community in pepper plants. Specifically, microbial agent increased the relative abundances of populations belonging to Enchytraeus and Sminthurides genera, which could contribute to soil improvement and nutrient cycling. Compared to the CK, the relative abundance of pathogenic microorganisms including Olpidium and Aplanochytrium genera decreased by 98.0% and 89.3%, and the relative abundance of the Verticillium decreased to 0. These results demonstrated that EM microbial agent could increase soil nutrient content, enhance soil enzyme activity, and reduce soil pathogenic fungi in the pepper cultivation areas of Xinjiang, thus achieving beneficial effects on pepper growth and fruit yield.

A comprehensive understanding of the evolution of soybean climate potential productivity and its response to climate change in Heilongjiang Province can offer reference and basis for further tapping soybean production potential and realizing stable and high yield of soybean in the frigid region. Based on meteorological data from 80 meteorological stations in Heilongjiang Province from 1961 to 2020, we estimated photosynthesis, light temperature, and climate potential productivity of soybean by the stepwise correction method, examined the spatiotemporal variations by spatial interpolation and statistical analysis methods, and analyzed the impact of changes in climate factors such as radiation, temperature, and precipitation on climate potential productivity. The results showed that during the study period, the average values of photosynthesis potential productivity ( Y Q ), light-temperature potential productivity ( Y T ), and climate potential productivity ( Y W ) of soybean in Heilongjiang Province were 7533, 6444, and 3515 kg·hm -2 , respectively. The temporal changes of those variables showed significant increasing trends, with increases of 125.9, 182.9, and 116.1 kg·hm -2 ·(10 a) -1 , respectively. For the spatial distribution, Y Q , Y T , Y W were characterized by high values in plains and lower in the mountains, and gradually decreased from southwest to northeast. Compared with that during 1961-1990, the high value zone of Y W in period 1991-2020 expanded by 7.1%, and the low value zone decreased by 5.1%. Y W showed a significant response to climate change. The potential temperature growth period was extended due to climate warming. The continuous increase in thermal resources, combined with relatively sufficient precipitation, effectively alleviated the negative impact of the decline in light resources on soybean production in Heilongjiang Province. The projected "warm and humid" climate would comprehensively boost climate potential productivity of soybean in Heilongjiang Province.

We conducted in a common garden experiment to explore the differences in soil enzyme activity, stoichiometry, and their influencing factors among a secondary Castanopsis carlesii forest, 10-year-old C. carlesii plantation, and Cunninghamia lanceolata plantation. The results showed that compared to the secondary forest, the soil organic carbon, total nitrogen, and dissolved organic carbon significantly decreased by 42.6%, 47.4%, and 60.9% in C. carlesii plantation, and by 42.9%, 36.7%, and 61.1% in C. lanceolata plantation. Soil microbial biomass C, microbial biomass N (MBN), and microbial biomass phosphorus decreased significantly by 40.6%, 35.5%, and 45.9% in C. carlesii plantation, and by 53.7%、56.4%, and 61.7% in C. lanceolata plantation. Compared to the secondary forest, soil enzymes activities in C. carlesii plantation did not change significantly, but in C. lanceolata plantation, the activities of β-1,4-glucosidase and cellobiohydrolase significantly decreased by 51.2% and 59.8%, β- N -acetyl glucosaminidase and acid phosphatase decreased significantly by 41.0% and 29.8%, and enzymatic C:N acquisition ratio and enzymatic C:P acquisition ratio significantly decreased by 11.3% and 7.7%, respectively. Results of redundancy analysis indicated that MBN and NO 3 - -N were the primary factors influencing soil enzyme activity and enzymic stoichiometry. Collectively, there were significant differences in soil enzyme activity and microbial nutrient demands among different forest stands. Compared to secondary forests, the establishment of C. lanceolata plantations would intensify nutrient competition between plants and microbes, and exacerbate the N and P limitations for microbes.

We established a mixed-effects model incorporating climatic factors for the base diameter and length of the primary branches of Larix kaempferi using stepwise regression, based on climatic data from a total of 40 standard plots located in Xiaolongshan, Gansu Province, Changlinggang Forest Farm in Jianshi County, Hubei Province, and Dagujia Forest Farm in Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province, as well as the data from 120 L. kaempferi sample trees. Additionally, we created prediction charts for the fixed effects portion of the optimal mixed model to determine the relationship between climatic factors and base diameter and branch length, to explore the differential response of L. kaempferi branches to climatic variables. The results showed that the base diameter mixing model with annual mean temperature and water vapor deficit and the branch length mixing model with annual mean temperature had the best fitting effect, with R 2 of 0.6152 and 0.6823, respectively. Based on the fixed effects prediction chart of the mixed model, the overall basal diameter showed an increasing trend with the increases of relative branch depth. The identification of key areas for ecological restoration in national land space is crucial for anchoring the bottom line of urban ecological security. As the core of ecological restoration in many resource-based cities, the zoning construction of abandoned mining sites has practical significance. We classified the abandoned mining sites in Handan City based on ecological functions and spatial importance, aiming to provide theoretical support for the orderly development of urban ecological restoration work. In terms of research framework, we proposed to overlay the importance of ecological protection at the functional level and the ecological security pattern at the spatial level, in order to obtain more accurate identification results of key ecological restoration areas at the urban scale. During the study process, we selected four indicators that fitting the regional characteristics of water conservation, soil conservation, biodiversity conservation, and soil erosion sensitivity for ecological protection importance evaluation, and selected the MSPA-Conefor-SPCA-MCR-circuit theory to construct the ecological security pattern. The results showed that 73 out of the remaining 204 abandoned mining sites belonged to the key ecological restoration areas, with a total area of 1500.9 hm 2 in Handan City, which were mainly concentrated in the regions of Gushan, Fenghuangshan, and Fushan mountains. These regions had serious ecological and enviornmental problems, but with enormous potential value. Actively seeking site transformation on the basis of simple greening to extend the value chain and industrial chain of mining ecological restoration may become a more important goal in these regions.

We studied the population characteristics of Caragana microphylla and related soil factors across diffe-rent stages of shrub encroachment ( i.e ., light, moderate, and severe) on the Xilingol Grassland of Inner Mongolia. The results showed that the density and height of C. microphylla gradually increased during the process of grassland shrub-encroachment from light to moderate to severe. The density and height were increased by 196.0% and 34.5% from light to moderate stage of shrub encroachment, and were increased by 25.4% and 17.6% from moderate to severe stage. Crown size, basal diameter, tiller number per clump, and aboveground productivity of C. microphylla tented to decrease first and then increase, while the proportion of aboveground biomass allocation to leaves decreased across the stages of shrub encroachment. The competition between C. microphylla and herbaceous species was strongest in the moderate encroachment stage. C. microphylla reduced its lateral growth (such as crown size, basal diameter, and tiller number per clump) and increased density and height to get competitive advantage. Limi-ting soil factors for C. microphylla varied significantly at different stages of shrub encroachment. In the light encroachment stage, soil factors had little effect on the growth of C. microphylla . In the moderate encroachment stage, soil moisture in the deep layer (20-50 cm) and soil pH were the key factors limiting shrub density. In the severe encroachment stage, soil moisture in the deep layer and pH limited the vertical growth of C. microphylla , while soil moisture of shallow layer (0-20 cm) and nutrients were the limiting factors for the lateral expansion of shrubs.

To investigate the differences on morphological growth patterns of statolith of Todarodes pacificus in the East China Sea during La Niña and normal years, we analyzed the samples of T. pacificus collected in the East China Sea by Chinese light purse seine fishery fleets from February to April in 2020 (a normal year) and 2021 (a La Niña year). The results showed that total statolith length (TSL), lateral dome length (LDL), wing length (WL), and maximum width (MW) could be used as characterization parameters to representing the morphological growth of statolith. The characterization parameters of statolith in T. pacificus differed significantly between different climate years and between different genders. The values of those characterization parameters of statolith were greater in normal year than those in La Niña year, which in both years were larger in females, except for TSL in males in La Niña year. The statolith growth of males were faster than that of females in different climate years. TSL, LDL, and WL increased faster in normal year, while MW increased faster in La Niña year. The relative size of statolith gradually slowed down with the growth of individuals.
