Objective: to characterize the notifications of malaria in pregnant women in the municipality of Oiapoque. Method: documentary, descriptive, retrospective and quantitative study, conducted from secondary data of the Epidemiological Surveillance System of Malaria in Oiapoque-Amapá, Brazil, from 2013 to 2017. The following variables of autochthonous cases of malaria in pregnant women are addressed: year, month of occurrence, gestational age, Plasmodium infecting species and notification unit. Data were presented and analyzed using descriptive statistics and formulation of spatial distribution maps, generated by ArcGIS software. Results: notifications predominated in urban areas, especially in the Paraíso neighborhood (74%), with Plasmodium Vivax being the main agent (88%), and with a higher incidence between October and December (33%), in the third gestational quarter (35%). Conclusion: the profile of reports of malaria in pregnant women of this municipality resembles previous studies in this region, regarding the place of concentration and period of greater occurrence. However, the gradual introduction of the protozoan Plasmodium falciparum brings an alert to the mobilization of managers and professionals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: to analyze training processes of health managers and professionals in the implementation of the e-SUS Primary Care strategy in cities of Minas Gerais. Method: online questionnaires of the websurvey type were sent to the managers responsible for the implementation of the strategy in the selected cities; the data were processed with the aid of the statistical software Statistical Package for the Social Sciences 21.0. Results: managers from 114 cities of Minas Gerais participated in the study. About 71.9% of them claimed to have participated in training processes for the performance of the function, and 52.6% of the cities did not executed training for the adoption/use of the systems to health professionals. Conclusion: the process of implementation of the e-SUS Primary Care strategy in Minas Gerais, despite developments, presents weaknesses in the adoption of training processes for professionals who use the systems. Objective: to analyze epidemiological data regarding suicide deaths in Brazil from 2010 to 2019. Method: retrospective, quantitative research, whose data were obtained in December 2020 in the database of the Departamento de Informática of the Brazilian Sistema Único de Saúde. Results: between 2010 and 2019, Brazil recorded, on an annual basis, 112,166 deaths by suicide, with a mortality rate due to this cause of 6.4/100,000 inhabitants in 2019. Males were the majority, in the proportion of 8:2, on average, with a trend of growth in mortality rates for men and women. Conclusion: suicide mortality rates in Brazil increased significantly and with an increasing trend in all Brazilian regions and in 19 Federation Units. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To identify the prevalence of notified self-inflicted injuries among adolescents in Espírito Santo and to analyze the associated factors. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional and analytical study, with the notified data of self-inflicted violence among adolescents in Espírito Santo registered in the Notifiable Diseases Information System from 2011 to 2018. The bivariate analyses considered the Chi-square (χ²) and Fisher's Exact tests. The multivariate analysis considered the log-binomial model, and the adjustment results were presented as prevalence ratio. Results: The prevalence of notified self-inflicted injuries was 33 % and, of this total, 79.8 % occurred among female adolescents. Prevalence was higher among adolescents aged from 13 to 17 years old (female gender) and from 18 to 19 years old (male gender), as well as among those with some disability or disorder. Higher prevalence values were found in the residence and in collective housing, as well as among those who did not consume alcohol at the event in question. In the female gender, there was also an association with the urban area (p < 0.05). Conclusions: hHigh prevalence of notified self-inflicted injuries is perceived among adolescents in Espírito Santo, as well as of the factors associated to this phenomenon. Objective. To use a newly developed framework to assess the contribution that eHealth makes to closing gaps in primary health care (PHC) and to providing person-centered, integrated PHC services in Latin America and the Caribbean. Methods. The new assessment model for eHealth-enabled primary health care (ePHC) is called the ePHC Assessment Framework. It is based on the National eHealth Strategy Toolkit developed by the World Health Organization and the International Telecommunications Union in 2012, and the Alberta Health Primary Health Care Evaluation Framework. To validate the ePHC Assessment Framework, a pilot study was conducted in 2017 in four locations: the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the countries of Brazil, Costa Rica, and the Dominican Republic. Results. The ePHC Assessment Framework was successfully used to evaluate the building blocks of a primary health care-oriented approach to eHealth and the eHealth-enabled enhancements for management of chronic conditions needed to improve prevention and management at PHC centers in the studied locations. The study found that Brazil, Costa Rica, and Buenos Aires are clearly engaged in eHealth initiatives as part of the transformation of PHC to provide person-centered, high-quality services. As for the Dominican Republic, there was not enough evidence to verify the contribution of eHealth in improving PHC in the country. Conclusions. It is clear that eHealth helps improve the quality and effectiveness of the prevention and management of chronic conditions at the PHC level. To improve the foundations of ePHC, policymakers should ensure that their national eHealth strategies explicitly identify and establish the opportunities for eHealth to enable an effective PHC system to provide person-centered, integrated, high-quality services. Objective: To identify the prevalence and characterize deaths due to falls from hospital beds in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, and Brazil. Method: It is a retrospective study carried out in 2015 using data from the Unified Health System's Informatics Department database (DATASUS). The ICD-10 was used: W06 - Fall involving bed. Relative frequency, sex ratio, and lethality rates were calculated. Results: In the distribution by age group, there was a higher number of deaths in people aged 60 years and older. The total number of deaths presented prevalence of females; but under 70 years of age, more men died. Lethality coefficients increased progressively in the three governmental spheres. Conclusion: Falls constitute a problem not only for the patients, but also for caregivers and hospital institutions. Therefore, the promotion of patient safety and, specifically, the prevention of falls from bed represent a challenge for health services and professionals. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper, based on the Actor-Network Theory, intends to analyze the dynamics of implementation of a Health Information System (HIS) in a Brazilian public hospital by following the actors involved in controversies occurred throughout the project trajectory. The changes observed over the course of the system implementation reveal that the concept of success was jointly developed via negotiation of devices ofinteressement introduced during the project.
