The article discusses the U.S. military presence in Afghanistan and the possibility that it may be time to remove the forces from there. The city of Khost, Afghanistan served as a refuge for the terrorist Osama bin Laden, leader of the organization Al Qaeda, in 1998 and was attacked by U.S. armed forces. During a meeting between U.S. Lieutenant Colonel Stephen Lutsky and Pacha Khan Zadran, leader of the Zadran tribe, the possibility of creating an Afghan paramilitary security force was discussed.
