- Abstract
Our infant-juvenile population has been exposed to situations in the last decade that have compromised their physical, mental, emotional health, learning ability, nutritional needs, and even their sense of self. We are talking about problems in terms of their education, food/nutrition, health, and recognition of gender identity. In this last topic, we will focus on this analysis. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This study aimed to identify, analyze, and integrate findings from studies that examined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of transgender and transvestite individuals. An integrative literature review was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines. A systematic search of primary studies was conducted across three databases: PubMed/MEDLINE, LILACS, and PsycINFO. Eight studies that met the inclusion criteria were included. Thematic analysis of the material generated six thematic categories. The studies analyzed pointed out that the situation of social vulnerability faced by trans people in their daily lives intensified during the pandemic. The need for physical distancing led to increased symptoms of anxiety and depression, worsening economic conditions, and difficulties in accessing procedures and medications that make up the gender affirmation process, in addition to exacerbating family conflicts and manifestations of transphobia. Therefore, there is a need to implement public policies and a social protection network to reduce the vulnerability and psychosocial suffering of the transgender and transvestite community. This text explores the fit of the theoretical theses of gender identity in the constitutional framework, understood as both the Spanish legal-positive framework and that of Western liberal democracies, established after World War II. To this end, the contribution has been divided into three sections. In the first place, an attempt is made to clear up the key concepts that are going to be handled throughout the article, notably four: human dignity, vulnerability, sex/gender and sexual identity/gender identity. Secondly, it offers a review of the main normative and jurisprudential milestones that have had to respond to the gender identity challenge, an issue with some growth in importance in the most recent constitutional jurisprudence, in its «gender perspective» aspect. Thirdly, the reader is offered some arguments that could act as a counterweight to the worst drifts manifested by the gender identity thesis. Finally, some conclusions are drawn around an in-depth reflection on the findings resulting from the investigation, submitted, of course, to the best doctrinal opinion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper/essay, the representations of trans people in Spanish series both on television and on streaming platforms will be analyzed, paying special attention to the new forms of masculinities, referred to as dissidents. From the pioneer Farmacia de Guardia to much more recent series such as Vis a Vis or Todo lo otro, there will be an analysis of the main characteristics of the trans characters (age, sex, social class, etc.), the reactions that they spark around them (acceptance, rejection, ignorance), as well as the story offered about transsexuality (if it is seen as a pathology, if there is a desire to change one’s physical appearance through hormones and/ or surgery, if the conception of having been born in the wrong body persists, etc.). It will be seen how this representation intersects and questions hegemonic masculinity. Finally, it will be observed how transsexuality is becoming progressively more visible in Spanish series, helping its normalization through different characters who bring this reality closer to the public, although not always in an inclusive way [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To analyze the implementation of the transsexualization process in the State of Ceará, contexts, conditions and challenges. This is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Five strategic subjects (managers and professionals) were chosen with individual depth techniques. The transsexualization process in the State of Ceará was implemented according to the demand of the transgender population, initially general questions related to sexuality. The challenges point to a lack of human and financial resources, vulnerabilities, lack of access and accessibility to health services, ignorance of the transgender population and prejudice in general. The advances in legitimizing the transsexualization process are notorious, but the idea of transsexuality as a pathology and the insertion of the clinic in the facilities of a chiatric hospital can sustain the stigmatization of Trans people. The transsexualization process is guaranteed by public policies in Ceará, but it is a full implementation of actions that are still limited. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

By virtue of the existing laws and regulations in Spain (i.e., Law 3/2007, of 15 March, regulating the register rectification of the entry related to a person’s sex) any person of Spanish nationality, of legal age and with sufficient capacity to do so, may request the register rectification for sex change. A new aspect regarding the legal age was introduced not long ago. In this regard, the Constitutional Court of Spain in judgment 99/2019, 18 July 2019, declared unconstitutional article 1.1 of the aforementioned Law 3/2007 since it does not allow the sex change in the registry (and, consequently, the name) to minors, who, however, have sufficient maturity and live in a steady state of transsexuality. The Court states that this prohibition implies a disproportionate interference in minors right to privacy and it is contrary to the principle that guarantees them a space for the free development of his/her identity. Under the pretext of the mentioned landmark case-law we will highlight a series of controversial issues concerning sexual rights. Obviously, this question is still subject to debate and has lost none of its urgency. SEXUAL diversity , *ONLINE journalism , *TWENTY-first century , *CONTENT analysis , *DIGITAL media , *CYBERBULLYING - Abstract
Transsexuality has found a place in both the Spanish collective mindset and media. To analyze the portrayal of this type of sexual diversity in the media, we evaluated its presence in cybermedia, its preeminence in journalistic texts, and the issues addressed in its media coverage. A quantitative content analysis (N = 24,363) of the journalistic texts published during the period 2000–2020 by 13 generalist Spanish cybermedia was carried out, using both rule-based classification and unsupervised topic modeling. The results highlight an increase in journalistic texts about transsexuality, in which three inflection points and four phases or distribution changes can be distinguished. The preeminence of this topic within the analyzed pieces has also increased, and the issues covered have diversified over the years. Overall, these data confirm the newsworthiness that this type of sexual diversity achieved throughout the first two decades of the twenty-first century. Media attention especially highlights the newsworthiness of aspects such as conflict, the protagonist’s notoriety, or periodicity through anniversary journalism. Likewise, the results also suggest that the media offer an increasingly complex portrayal that favors both the visibility and the understanding of the different dimensions and characteristics that intersect in these realities. Trans minors claim for themselves the right to a "self-perceived" gender identity [SCJN 2019] in terms of legal recognition and free development of their personality, exempt from pathologization by medical science and with the support of social disciplines such as law and anthropology. Hence, the objective of this communication is to provide an overview of the last five years in which trans children in Mexico have gained visibility from the paradigmatic cases and joint legislative work with organized civil society. In order to position the issue at the debate table on the biomedical and legal construction of transsexuality in childhood, since it presents edges that are the object of legal-anthropological analysis that contribute to understand the generation of new paradigms in human rights and reflect about its construction. Transsexualism and transgenderism are not current phenomena, they have existed for a long time in multiple cultures. The changes that the term transsexualism has undergone and the interest of the scientific community that is evidenced in the production of articles in recent decades, are a reflection of the importance of the trans issue that has emerged as a matter of growing interest and that is being studied from different perspectives. The objective of this study is to determine if the difficulties faced by trans people when making the request for sex reassignment in the Colombian health system constitutes a violation of their fundamental rights, it has been proposed to carry out through the analysis of the law and Colombian jurisprudence in this regard and a case study that allows observing the struggle of people with a diversity of gender so that their rights are recognized. - Abstract
The hierarchical influences model attributes significant influence to journalists over their news content. A quantitative content analysis was conducted to examine the impact of journalists’ gender and reporting experience on the media delegitimization of the trans community in Spain. The results emphasize their minimal impact. Instead, media attention and delegitimization of the trans community appear to be shaped by the prevailing value system cultivated in newsrooms, personal attitudes, values, and beliefs and journalistic role performance. These findings underscore the significance of theoretical knowledge over practical experience in the news coverage of specific news topics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

GENDER , *GAY rights , *TRANSSEXUALS , *HOMOSEXUALITY , *GAY people - Abstract
Though homosexuality is no longer considered a psychopathology, in many countries it is still considered a crime and punishments include even the death penalty. As gay rights progressed, so did ultraconservatism, which is accompanied by violence. According to Freud, homosexuality is as enigmatic as heterosexuality, but the belief in sexual complementarity -- unattainable according to psychoanalysis -- is perhaps a factor that leads many transsexuals to seek to harmonize sex and gender. They identify themselves as homosexuals in the first place, before identifying as transsexuals and their discourses reveal that adequation of the transsexual body may be in line with the cultural and homophobia internalized by homosexuals. Could the transsexual demand to match body and soul be a surreptitious attempt to deny homosexuality in contemporary times? [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

TRANSSEXUALS , *LAW reform , *GENDER , *CONSTITUTIONAL amendments , *LEGAL research , *SOCIAL stigma - Abstract
Current research analyzes the legislation and jurisprudential system with regard to requirements applied to transsexual people due to the differentiation in female and male genders for the concession of retirement, following the Constitution Amendment 103/2019, within the Brazilian retirement law reform. Research was undertaken through hypothetical and deductive methodology and bibliographic research on the law, administrative decisions, jurisprudence and specialized doctrine on the theme. Results show the need to give greater attention to the theme since the previdenciary system is insufficient to take off the stigma of law omissions so that transsexual people could have their rights guaranteed, without bias, with greater visibility and representativity in social issues. - Abstract
In this article, we present a review of the research available in the literature on gestation and abortion processes in trans men, based on a search in databases such as PsyeINFO and Scielo, for standardized terms such as pregnancy, abortion, trans men, transgender, tranny. This literature review is part of my doctoral thesis, not yet completed, entitled "Transborder Narratives: experiences of trans people, from pregnancy and abortion practices", within the framework of a Postgraduate degree in the area of Psychology. In this way, publications are selected that consider psychological or social aspects of the subject, with approaches from the health area to studies closer to the human and social sciences, in order to identify studies related to this subject. In this way, it is observed that most of the references are from the last ten years. However, it is worth noting a lack of research on abortion and trans men. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

TRANSGENDER people in motion pictures , *TRANSSEXUALS , *GENDER dysphoria , *DISCOURSE analysis , *INTERPERSONAL relations - Abstract
The goal of this research was to highlight the effects of the sense on the transe-sexuality in some contemporary movie productions, specifically in: Ma vie en rose, Tomboy and The Danish girl. The movies were analyzed within the theoretical framework of Michel Pêcheux's Discourse Analysis. The main outcomes emphasize on the tension created between the medical and the humanitarian discourses, the main characters' gender performances promoting repetitions of the traditional senses, the reinforcement of the typical binaryroles, and the emphasis on the heterosexual matrix in performing the characters' sexual orientation. Besides, it is marked the predominance of an inclusive-discourse composition aimed at sensitizing the cinema goers by portraying the transsexual people's difficulties and sufferings in their social relationships. It is concluded that these movies are important mechanisms of production and reproduction of gender technologies within the marginalized population, and at the same time they show their own conflicts and reinforce the social regulations. In Spain, the laws of heritage, both national and those of autonomous regions do not make specific references to the lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual and intersex (LGTBI) heritage. The few references that we can find refer to the regional laws on LGTBI equality. The present investigation has three main objectives: 1) to analyze, categorize and compare the presence and considerations on LGTBI heritage in the 9 Autonomous Communities that have legislated in terms of equality and non-discrimination in relation to LGTBI people; 2) to know if the mentions of heritage have to do with material or intangible historical heritage and historical sites in a context of timelessness, or, conversely, if allusions have to do with assets related to Francoism or of recent creation; and 3) to analyze the possible provisions that these laws may make on the presence of LGTBI-themed funds in libraries and the creation of specialized documentation centers. The methodology used is qualitative and comparative. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

TRANSSEXUALISM , *HOMOSEXUALITY , *INTERSEXUALITY , *PSYCHOSES , *PSYCHOANALYSIS - Abstract
This work aims to localize the intertwining of common or repeated elements in psychoanalytic theorizations about homosexuality and transsexuality. By characterizing psychoanalytic discourses from Freud and Lacan to our days, we find a kind of repetition in these theorizations, since homosexuality has historically been associated to a choice of narcissistic object and perversion, a fact that is repeated nowadays in postulations about transsexualities, which are described as psychosis and perversion. We conclude that a large number of psychoanalytic texts are linked, intertwined and informed by repeating theories such as the thesis of psychic hermaphroditism that serves as the etiological basis for both homosexualities and transsexualities. The article aims to reflect on the management of sexual diversity in the implementation of socio-educational legal determination, through the analysis of the case of a transsexual adolescent in conflict with the law. As a method, we used the analysis of the adolescent deprivation of liberty processes with authorization from the State of Rio Grande do Sul Justice (Brazil). It was concluded that the institution of adolescents detention in Porto Alegre lacks the establishment of general policies and permanent discussion forums on the management of sexual diversity, that consider in a systemic way the influence of cultural and moral values.

Abstract Transmasculine identities have gained social and academic visibility in Brazil since 2010, but subjective issues, especially those associated with affective relationships, are still little discussed. This qualitative study sought to identify trans men’s perceptions and expectations regarding post-transition affective-sexual relationships. A total of 15 transsexual men undergoing hormone therapy, aged between 20 and 41 years, participated in the research. Data were collected by means of in-person and online semi-structured interviews and analysed using reflexive thematic analysis, which resulted in two analytical themes. Results show that trans men, differently from their initial expectations, perceive fewer opportunities for affective-sexual relationships after their gender transition. The participants attribute this difficulty, especially, to the fact that they have not undergone sexual reassignment surgery. Discomfort isaccentuated by their bodily materiality diverging from cisnormativity, the regulatory system that associates people belonging to the male gender with the presence of a penis. Another source of discomfort is the social repudiation, which reinforces the abjection, exoticization, and fetishization of transmasculine bodies. The specifics of trans men’s relationships with cisgender, heterosexual, and lesbian women are also described. The results show that the persistent fixation on the genital, as a referent and determinant sign of gender and sexuality, modulates and regulates the search for and encounter of intimate partners.

The accessibility and democratization of online media has allowed voices to emerge around issues with low visibility. In this study we are looking at the trans community. Whereas publics are generated in mainstream media, counterpublics emerge from the margins, generating alternative spaces for debate and discussion. YouTube has emerged as a space for collaborative learning and participation, breaking the boundaries between public/private and collective/personal. Taking Elsa Ruiz Cómica and Alejandro P. E.'s YouTube channels as a case study, we intend to understand how their respective counter-publics are configured, and to analyze their strategies of technological appropriation and activism. Thanks to the debate generated by their videos, these trans youtubers manage to transfer innovative concepts to a wider audience, contributing to the recognition of diverse (sexual) identities, and to the questioning of gender binarism. TRANSSEXUALS , *TRANSSEXUALISM , *DECONSTRUCTION , *BELIEF & doubt , *NATURE - Abstract
We propose to revisit the traditional portrait of transsexual people established in the 1950s: the conviction of being "in the wrong body", victim of a "mistake of nature", vital demand of reassignment at any price to get reborn in one's "real body". We will try to show that this discourse did not reflect, at that time, the reality of the suffering and experience of the majority of the patients and to follow its development from the moment speech became more free, especially with the birth of the transgender movement. We further analyze in what way - beyond the deconstruction of the male-female binarity - the deconstruction of all binarity, all the lines of separation between species takes place: man/woman, but also man/animal, and beyond that, man/machine, living/non-living, which leads us directly to a posthuman world.
