Childhood dermatological problems contribute about one-third of all consultations in the setting of both pediatrics and dermatology outpatient services. Skin disorders in children may cause anxiety to parents. General Practitioners should be familiar with the common prevalent skin problems as immediate pediatric dermatology consultation may not be possible. Infections, infestations and dermatitis are the most prevalent diseases among Indian children. The scope of this review is to briefly highlight these common and other important dermatological problems in children.

Abstract: Background: Noncultured, extracted follicular outer root sheath suspension (NC‐EHF‐ORS‐CS) is a recently introduced technique for the treatment of stable vitiligo. Objective: To study the clinical efficacy of this technique and to determine the viability and cell composition of the suspension. Methods: Twenty‐five patients with stable vitiligo were included in this prospective study. Fifty follicles were extracted from occipital scalp and were incubated with trypsin–ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid to separate outer root sheath cells. The cell suspension was filtered and centrifuged to obtain a cell pellet, which was resuspended and applied to the dermabraded recipient area. Cell viability of the suspension was assessed using trypan blue staining, and markers of keratinocyte stem cells (CD200) and melanocytes (S100) were evaluated using flow cytometry and immunocytochemistry, respectively. Results: At 6 months, the mean (±SD) repigmentation was 52 ± 25.1%, and >75% repigmentation was seen in 8/25 (32%) patients. Mean percentage cell viability of the suspension was 80 ± 17.2% with a mean concentration of CD200 + and S100 + cells being 7.91 ± 8.68% and 9.93 ± 1.22% (n = 3), respectively. Recipient site infection was seen in 4 of 25 (16%) patients and a color mismatch in 11 of 25 (44%) patients. Conclusion: NC‐EHF‐ORS‐CS is a useful minimally invasive therapy for vitiligo. The article presents case study of 7-year-old girl, born of a non-consanguineous marriage, presented with extensive verrucous lesions predominantly over the left half of the body and that there were no were no systemic symptoms like seizures or bony abnormalities. It mentions that the scalp also had a similar hyperpigmented rough verrucous plaque with the loss of overlying hair. It also mentions that Biopsy from a nodulocystic lesion revealed features of a trichilemmal cyst.

Varicella eruption may be atypical with extensive lesions, continued appearance, and hemorrhagic lesions. They are febrile purpura, malignant chickenpox with purpura, postinfectious purpura, purpura fulminans, and anaphylactoid purpura. The article presents a case report of an old man presented with a slowly increasing subungual growth over the left ring finger of 5 years duration. The growth was associated with bleeding on minor manipulation. An x-ray of the hand revealed erosion over the distal phalanx bone. The patient was referred to the surgery department, and disarticulation was performed at the proximal interphalangeal joint.

A man in his 50s presented with two urethrocutaneous fistulae with intermittent dribbling of urine from the opening of fistula on the surface of glans penis. A skin biopsy from indurated margin of fistula was suggestive of fibrosing granulomatous reaction. A case study of a 32-year-old woman, gravida 2 para 2, presented with multiple, asymptomatic, pedunculated, soft polypoidal growths is discussed. It is mentioned that lesions had gradually increased in number and size over the past 20 years. A clinical diagnosis of linear vulvar acrochordons was considered and in a single sitting by radio-frequency ablation under local anaesthesia, all the lesions were removed.

A case study of a 62-year-old man presented with large erosions, 5-10 cm in size, over the medial aspects of the thighs, groins, perianal area and nape of the neck is presented. The starting of the disease started as erythematous, itchy papules and plaques in the groin, which were treated with oral terbinafine and antihistamines was revealed in a detailed history.

Researchers studied 60 clinically diagnosed, patch test-confirmed patients with Parthenium dermatitis, who were eligible for azathioprine treatment. The patch testing with an aqueous extract of the plant antigen was performed before initiation of azathioprine treatment.
