The general objective of this ongoing research is to analyze the scientific production in the area of Law published in Brazilian scientific journals from 2017 to 2020, registered on the Sucupira/CAPES platform. Information Science, Scientific Communication, Bibliometrics and understandings of Law were selected as a theoretical basis. The methodological procedures point to descriptive and exploratory research with quantitative approaches. Bibliometric techniques will be used to analyze scientific productivity in the field of Law. Data collection is carried out on the Sucupira Platform. The data analysis procedures will follow the following categories: Titles of scientific journals, Authors and coauthors, Institutional origin of the author; More productive postgraduate programs; Most researched topics and year of publication. As first results, there are 127 journal titles considering the Qualis selection from strata A1, A2 and A3 and a list of 22 journal titles selected from stratum A1 and their respective programs. Therefore, the analysis of the proposed categories is considered fundamental in the continuity of the research, mainly due to the relevance of the use of periodicals by jurists as a source of information. A study on public policies is presented as an object of research in different areas of knowledge, considering the growth of publications on the subject in scientific journals. The objective is to analyze the scientific production on public policies in Brazil, to understand the development of this production, in addition to verifying the contribution of Minas Gerais in the period from 1980 to 2018. The theoretical framework deals with scientific production, scientific communication and communication channels, formal communication, scientific journals, bibliometrics, discourse analysis and public policies. The research is characterized by the quantitative, descriptive and bibliographic approach. The research corpus formed by the set of scientific articles linked to the journals indexed in the SciELO and Scopus databases. Data analysis based on bibliometric techniques and discourse analysis. The current study aims to investigate the scientific research on the technological theme and thus understand the basis of its support. It aims to outline the profile of scientific literature on technology in LIS through a descriptive and quantitative research based on scientometric studies of scientific communication. The source of the research was the Referential Database of Information Science Periodical Articles (BRAPCI) using the terms 'computer', 'automation', 'information systems', 'technology', 'electronic', 'e', 'digital' and 'virtual' gathered to analyze the technological base area of 353 articles. Results indicated that the articles were published between 1972 and 2008, outlining the year of 2001 with the largest quantity (29) and a decreasing setting in the last decade. The journal with the highest number of publications is Information Science (166); 82% of the authors have up to 2 published articles on technology, indicating that the subject has no homogeneous group work nor research continuity; and the most recurrent terms are "information" and "systems" and "technology". Seven thematic domain groups that constitute the technological basis of the field were identified: the most representative of them is led by 'information systems', followed by 'digital and virtual library'; policy issues involving 'internet and network'; 'computer teaching librarianship'; 'automatic indexing', 'knowledge management, and electronic publishing'.
