Summary Hybrid foods are made by blending animal‐based and plant‐based ingredients to make food products that are similar to the 100% animal‐based ones. Examples include hybrid meat products such as burgers or minced meat with vegetables or more recently hybrid dairy products such as cheddar cheese with oats. While hybrid meat products have been launched in several countries by both retailers and foodservice outlets, there are very few examples of hybrid meat products still available in the market, such as hybrid nuggets targeting children and hybrid minced meat products. This short viewpoint article covers some of the possible reasons this might be happening, presents examples of successful hybrid food products, discusses the importance of sustainability claims and the potential of hybrid meals. Sorghum is one of the most important and under-utilized cereal crops in the Arid and Semi-Arid land (ASAL) regions of Kenya. The crop is grown in drought-prone marginal agricultural areas of Western Central and Eastern and coastal regions of Kenya. The diverse biotic and abiotic constraints including climate changes reduce sorghum productivity. Sorghum technology generators continue promoting suitable management practices and innovations to cushion and improve the resilience of smallholder farmers against the adverse effects of climate change. These interventions contribute to the attainment of not only household and national food security but also enhance incomes. Despite the increasing sorghum production and utilization in West Pokot County, there is limited knowledge of the status of production, processing, and utilization technologies. The aim of this study was to assess the current sorghum production, processing, utilization technology, innovations, and management practices among smallholder farmers. A household survey was undertaken using a jointly developed structured questionnaire by a multi- and inter-disciplinary team of researchers. Using a multi-stage sampling technique, 599 households were randomly selected and interviewed. Data collected were on household and farm characteristics including technologies. The study revealed that compared to maize and pasture, land allocated to sorghum enterprise was relatively low ranging from 0.32 acres to 0.80 acres with an average of 0.73 acres. The adoption of various sorghum technological components was also low. Adoption of improved sorghum varieties was less than 7% while fertilizer use was less than 20%. These contribute to low crop yields of about 140kg per acre. In addition, value addition was also low. Sorghum use was limited to ugali (56%) and porridge (39%) against the diverse value-added products including bread baking. and industrial processing of pure and blended products. More farmer and stakeholders training need to be done. In order to fully upgrade the sorghum value chain; there is the need to have targeted sorghum policies focusing on a range of activities along the value chain. These interventions could be integrated into the West Pokot County Integrated Development Plan. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective Setting Participants Design Results Conclusion Rural unpaid caregivers experience different opportunities and challenges than their urban counterparts. Our aim was to understand rural unpaid caregivers' experiences of challenges and opportunities during the Covid‐19 pandemic in New Zealand.Rural northern New Zealand during the Covid‐19 pandemic.A convenience sample of 10 unpaid rural caregivers, most supporting an older person living with dementia.A qualitative descriptive design. Data included interviews and online workshops, and a thematic analysis.Rural unpaid caregivers observed that some aspects of living in a rural context were helpful during the Covid‐19 pandemic. However, tasks such as shopping and long‐distance travel and communication (both telephonic and digital) became more complex. Abrupt changes to routine and closure of resources and support groups created challenges. Unpaid caregivers worried about what would happen if they were hospitalised themselves. There was a diversity of experience both across caregivers, of familiar routines and rural context as resources, increased challenges requiring resourcefulness to adapt, and experiences of crisis. Many experienced all three states at different times. This research provides valuable insights into challenges and opportunities experienced by rural unpaid caregivers during the Covid‐19 pandemic and may help policy‐makers and healthcare professionals develop improved emergency preparedness. Multilevel, multisector responses are needed to ensure effective health and social support and access to resources including health care, access to groceries and medication, transport, and communications (telephone and digital). Enhancing rural access to effective and inexpensive online services is particularly important, as is recognition of the value of rural sites or hubs of connection and social interaction. Aim: To synthesise evidence from the literature on hospital nurses' perceived challenges and opportunities in the care of people with dementia. Background: People with dementia often have longer lengths of hospital stay and poorer health outcomes compared to those without dementia. Nurses play a pivotal role in the care of people with dementia. However, there is a scarcity of systematic reviews that synthesise the challenges and opportunities they perceive. Methods: A mixed‐methods systematic review was conducted with a database search covering Ageline, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Emcare, Embase, Medline, PsycINFO, ProQuest, Scopus and Web of Science in April 2022. In total, 27 articles that met the selection criteria were critically reviewed and included in this systematic review. Data from the selected articles were extracted and synthesised using a convergent segregated approach. Results: Three main themes and eight subthemes were identified. Theme 1 described nurse‐related factors consisting of the lack of capability in dementia care, experiencing multiple sources of stress and opportunities for nurses to improve dementia care. Theme 2 revealed people living with dementia‐related factors including complex care needs and the need to engage family carers in care. Theme 3 explained organisation‐related factors comprising the lack of organisational support for nurses and people with dementia and opportunities for quality dementia care. Conclusion: Hospital nurses experience multidimensional challenges in the care of people with dementia. Opportunities to overcome those challenges include organisational support for nurses to develop dementia care capability, reduce their stress and partner with the family caregivers. Relevance to Clinical Practice: Hospitals will need to build an enabling environment for nurses to develop their capabilities in the care of people with dementia. Further research in empowering nurses and facilitating quality dementia care in acute care hospitals is needed. Reporting Method: The review followed the PRISMA 2020 checklist. Patient or Public Contribution: No. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ACCOUNTING education ,SECONDARY education ,CRITICAL thinking ,SOCIAL skills ,SOFT skills - Abstract
The accounting profession no longer merely accentuates hard accounting skills, but also increasingly soft social skills. Previous studies have shown that teamwork, communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills became indispensable. Because accounting education is no longer aligned with these needs of the profession, a skills gap has arisen between the competences graduates possess, and the competences employers demand. We will answer the call of scholars and policymakers to investigate social skills from early on, in secondary education. The research objective is twofold. First, it examines which types of social skills are being addressed in secondary accounting education. Second, it focuses on the challenges and opportunities experienced by accounting educators when addressing social skills. We answer this research objective via semi-structured interviews with 14 Flemish educational stakeholders who represented three educational levels (i.e. microlevel accounting teachers, mesolevel pedagogical counsellors, and macrolevel policymakers), hereby accommodating a multivocal perspective. Results revealed that teamwork and communication are emphasized more frequently than leadership and critical thinking. Second, teachers identified various challenges and opportunities, such as overcrowded curricula, student diversity, and complex social skills assessment. Important implications for accounting educators wanting to enhance students' future employability by stimulating their social skills are discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Well-designed curriculums are crucial for quality education. This study aimed to assess the implementation status of a harmonized competency-based medical curriculum (CBMC) in Ethiopia, as well as identify the associated challenges and benefits. Methods: A mixed-method approach was used. Data collection took place from September 1, 2023, to October 15, 2023. Eleven medical schools were randomly selected from a list of 28 public medical schools in Ethiopia. Participants were purposively chosen from selected medical schools using a controlled sampling method. A total of 121 participants took part in the survey. Interviews and focus group discussions were conducted with key informants to complement the quantitative findings. Descriptive statistics, such as frequencies and percentages, were used to summarize the quantitative survey responses. Thematic content analysis was used to analyze the qualitative data. Results: The implementation of a CBMC in Ethiopian public universities faces various challenges and provides opportunities. Around 22% of respondents mentioned that the whole group session (WGS) had never been implemented in their school. Regarding community-based learning (CBL), 64.6% of respondents noted that it was intermittently implemented in their institution. Only 32% of respondents considered students' clinical exposure during preclerkship years to be reasonable. Interestingly, approximately 73% of respondents stated that problem-based learning (PBL) activities were regularly conducted in their school. Around 68% of respondents believed that competency-based assessment methods were moderately utilized. While many participants perceive the curriculum as having positive content alignment and structure with intended learning outcomes, challenges related to practical sessions, resource limitations, and uneven access to training opportunities persist. Resource constraints are a prominent challenge. The opportunities identified include early clinical exposure and enhanced communication skills. Conclusions: This survey highlights the need for ongoing curriculum evaluation and fine-tuning to ensure its success. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the digitalisation of museum education. To date, most research has focused on visitors’ experiences with and museums’ management of digital museum education. This leaves the voice of museum educators underresearched. Museum educators, however, are the main drivers of this digital transformation. Therefore, this study explores the voice of museum educators. Semi-structured online interviews were conducted with twelve museum educators working in museums in the Brussels Capital Region (Belgium). We identified opportunities and challenges of digital museum education related to three key stakeholders of museums, i.e. museum visitors, museum educators, and museum institutions. Partnerships seemed key to overcome challenges in developing digital museum education. By exploring museum educators’ experiences, we provide a broader and multi-layered understanding of digital museum education on which practice and research can build further. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

FACE-to-face communication ,COVID-19 ,EDUCATION ,DIGITAL learning ,LIFE expectancy - Abstract
Synchronous and Asynchronous communication is entirely the soothing and sustainable tool of communication in a field of education. The significance of both sorts of communication becomes acknowledgeable in the duration of pandemic. The pandemic times have pushed us to think twice about the life and life expectancy. The surging rate of bacterial and viral infection of COVID-19 thrashed the world into the deep indelible darkness of despondency where the survival of corporate and academic come to the stake and growth of the entire world gets stagnant. It also tried to curb the life. Synchronous and Asynchronous communication are acknowledged as the excellent source of communication that headed and guided the corporate and academic world activities excellently. Both of these have their own negative and positives aspects, which we have discussed further in the research paper. We need to find out new methods for circulation of the knowledge smoothly. There are many e-learning and online platforms such as zoom, Meet, Microsoft Meet, E-mail, etc. which can be used to utilize the knowledge in the remote area where physical appearance is not possible. After the COVID period was ended, it gave us new tools for conferencing i.e. Google classrooms, online conferencing rooms. These are very helpful for the circulation of knowledge in the various forms through Synchronous and asynchronous communication. This paper provides new insights in the direction of education for better knowledge and quality education without any hiccups. It makes us ready for future problems which can be more alarming and suitable for further policies in the field of education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Systematic overview of environmental literacy research in Indonesia is a crucial aspect for determining effective strategies for strengthening environmental literacy, unfortunately, this is not widely available, especially regarding research published in Indonesia. This research aims to reveal the profile, challenges, and opportunities for strengthening environmental literacy in Indonesia. SLR was used in this research by analyzing 36 articles that met the requirements collected from journals registered by Sinta in 10 years. The articles were then analyzed using a content analysis observation sheet. This research showed fluctuations and stagnation in the number of publications. Variations in design, subjects, instruments, and data analysis techniques are also revealed. Important research results also provide interesting findings in environmental literacy profiles, types of schools, and educational curricula. Based on this, researchers in Indonesia have the challenge of increasing the number of environmental literacy research published in Indonesia. This challenge becomes an opportunity to conduct qualitative and mixed-method research involving students at various education levels. Triangulation data analysis is also important. Furthermore, implementing the Adiwiyata curriculum and innovative learning using local wisdom has the potential to strengthen students' environmental literacy. This research provides an overview for other researchers to formulate effective strategies to improve environmental literacy.

Objective: The present study aims to analyze adolescents' perception of cyberspace. Methods and Materials: This research is a qualitative study of the descriptive phenomenological type. The statistical population consists of adolescent girls aged 12 to 18 who are dependent on cyberspace and reside in the city of Talesh, Gilan Province, during the summer quarter. They were identified using purposive sampling with Young's questionnaire, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 11 individuals, continuing until saturation and repetition of responses were reached. After recording each interview, the extracted content was transcribed verbatim. Data coding continued simultaneously with data collection. The data analysis was conducted using Colaizzi's seven-step method. Findings: A total of 2 main themes and 10 sub-themes were obtained from 11 interviews. The main themes include "perceived challenges of presence in cyberspace" with sub-themes such as "family challenges; psychological challenges; challenges arising from intergenerational gaps; challenges of changing cultural patterns and instability of accepted values; transformation of leisure and recreational styles; informational challenges beyond the age of transnational groups" and "perceived opportunities of cyberspace" with sub-themes such as "space for dialogue and exchange of views on social issues; opportunity to present models compatible with local culture; creation of social networks compatible with adolescent characteristics; access to equal educational opportunities." The results indicated that adolescents dependent on cyberspace perceive their presence in cyberspace with various challenges as well as beneficial opportunities. Conclusion: Therefore, it is necessary for officials and stakeholders to consider the needs of the adolescent period and use the opportunities provided by communication technology and virtual networks to design appropriate digital content to meet the needs of adolescents. Pilgrimage is a common phenomenon in all the major religions. Earlier studies showed that the pilgrimage sector has high resilience to crises. However, COVID-19 has affected and continues to have adverse impacts on pilgrimage tourism. Recognising the dearth of research addressing this developing crisis and its impact on pilgrimage tourism, this research note aims to explore the challenges and opportunities pilgrims face due to COVID-19. Hundred and fifty media articles from thirty countries are thematically analysed to address the aim of this research. The results indicate nine challenges and five opportunities for pilgrims due to COVID-19, which have varied implications for the pilgrimage sector as a whole. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cash endowment has become one of the pivotal instruments in Indonesia's economic and social development. However, after the enactment of Wakaf (Islamic endowment) regulations in 2004, there are still several challenges in the country's optimal utilization of cash endowments. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the challenges, opportunities, and necessary steps to optimize the utilization of cash endowment in Indonesia after enacting the 2004 Wakaf regulations. The Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method is employed to gather, evaluate, and synthesize various Indonesian cash endowment studies. The analysis reveals that despite challenges such as regulatory ambiguity, lack of public understanding, and administrative hurdles, there are significant opportunities for cash endowment development, including the growth of the Islamic finance sector and increasing government support. Strategic steps such as enhancing public education, regulatory improvements, and collaboration among stakeholders are required to capitalize on these opportunities optimally. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of cash endowment dynamics in Indonesia and guides policymakers, practitioners, and academics in promoting sustainable and inclusive cash endowment development in the future.

The arrival of virtual power plants (VPPs) marks important progress in the energy sector, providing optimistic solutions to the increasing need for energy flexibility, resilience, and improved energy systems’ integration. VPPs harness several characteristics to bring together distributed energy resources (DERs), resulting in economic gains and improved power grid reliability. Nevertheless, VPPs encounter major challenges when it comes to engaging in energy markets, mainly because there is no all-encompassing policy and regulatory framework specifically designed to accommodate their unique characteristics. This underscores the necessity for research endeavours to develop more advanced methods and structures for the long-term viability of VPPs. To address this concern, the study advocates for the implementation of a multi-aspect framework (MAF) as a systematic approach to thoroughly examine each aspect of virtual power plants (VPPs). A STEEP (social, technological, environmental, economic, and political) analytical tool is utilized to evaluate the challenges, opportunities, and benefits of a VPP in the existing energy markets. The proposed approach highlights important factors and actions that need to be taken to tackle the challenges related to VPP’ entry into energy markets. This study suggests that further support is required to promote the fast and widespread adoption of long-term VPP implementations. For this reason, a more favourable policy and regulatory framework based on social, technological, economic, environmental, and policy considerations is necessary to realize the genuine contributions of VPPs.

The road to implementation of competency-based medical education (CBME) in the medical curriculum in India has both challenges and windows of opportunities in its folds. The hindrances identified were reluctance to change, capacity building of faculties, lack of infrastructural support, and methods of assessment. Notwithstanding, CBME has the potential to ensure that the Indian medical graduates are equipped with better clinical skills, and learner-centric education, that aligns well with individual competence, and community healthcare needs. Effective navigation through this transition calls for collaborative efforts among academicians, regulatory bodies, and related stakeholders while drawing from relevant successful models of our country itself. It is imperative to address the challenges concerning capacity building of faculties, resource allocation, and assessment methodology for successful implementation. Given appropriate adoption, the CBME-based curriculum can go a long way to deliver quality healthcare.
