Duplicate of 9014.000 but with mailing envelope added., "Large folding colour map of South Burma and Thailand and on the verso: Newsmap text on the progress of the war; a large projection of the globe by Richard Edes Harrison noting the "Pacific War in the Air" with the extent of Japanese control and Allied land drives; inset map of Mindoro Island in the Philippines, the site of US landings; and a map of the European front with an inset map of Budapest, sold with the rare original envelope, the date "12-2744" notated in pencil, light wear, short fold splits without loss, in very good condition. A superb aerial 3-D style colour map from Phuket in the south to Taungup and Chiang Mai in the north, with railroads, rivers and an intricate web of everything from surface roads to cart tracks marked "some motorable others Jeepable". On the verso is a projection of the globe by Richard Edes Harrison (1901-1994) with his characteristic use of tilted perspective, illustrating the news item "Pacific War in the air." There are also maps of Mindanao, "Western Action" and the "Red Army." " (Asia Bookroom, 2024)
