Abstract

Michelaine (1), (-)-anonaine, (-)-norushinsunine, (-)-ushinsunine, (-)-N-acetylanonaine, liriodenine, atherospermidine, (+)-syringaresinol, N-trans-feruloyltyramine, p-hydroxybenzaldehyde, vanillin, vanillic acid, syringic acid, coniferyl aldehyde, syringin, scopoletin, 4-acetonyl-3,5-dimethoxy-p-quinol, β-sitostenone, and stigmasta-4,22-dien-3-one were isolated from the flowers of Michelia alba (Magnoliaceae). Abstract

A new aporphine alkaloid, liriodenchine (1), along with 13 known compounds, including three aporphine alkaloids, liriodenine (2), (-)-anonaine (3), and (-)-norstephalagine (4); three lignans, (+)-syringaresinol (5), (+)-yangambin (6), and (+)-eudesmin (7); and seven benzenoids, p-hydroxybenzoic acid (8), p-hydroxybezaldehyde (9), vanillic acid (10), vanillin (11), syringic acid (12), syringaldehyde (13), and 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoic acid (14), were isolated from the leaves of Liriodendron chinense (Magnoliaceae). The article offers information on a research related to the chemical constituents from the leaves of Michelia (Magnoliaceae) compressa var. formosana. It is stated that the study reported four aporphines, one oxoaporphine, two amides, one lignan, two neolignans, one benzenoid and two steroids from the plant's stem. It is mentioned that the plant is used fro the treatment of cancer.
