We emphasize that, the search for methodologies that are suitable for teaching that enables the intellectual and citizen education of students becomes increasingly strong and emerging. In this perspective, the different Trends in Mathematics Education can make a decisive contribution and, in the specific case of the Modelling in Mathematical Education and Mathematical Investigation in the Classroom trends, we observe converging aspects. In this regard, we reflect, in this article, about the possibilities of Mathematical Modelling as an investigative methodology in Mathematics classes, as well as about what may favor or hinder this methodology’s implementation in the classroom and about the importance of oral communication between the participants of the interactions, in the validation phase, particularly.
