Can Thomas Aquinas, thinker of the thirteenth century, tell us something to our current Latin American political reality? A text between two contexts is the pretext to generate a reflection on the right to rebellion, from the perspective of nonviolence and the right to civil disobedience. A path from justice and good government in Aquinas, followed by the political common good and the political virtues in Angelicus to end up in the right to rebellion, is the route that is traced for this exposition. A reading from the hermeneutic exegetical proposal of Dr. René Padilla, that is, an intuitive understanding, a grammatical-historical understanding and a contextualizing understanding are the how and manner of the present work.
