In this research, information technologies are considered as an integral part of everyday human life, which cannot be isolated from the general worldview and cultural context. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of technological innovations through the prism of worldview changes. It is noted that these changes are most adequately reflected in postmodern philosophy, the task of which consists not only in the deconstruction of the main categories of previous European philosophical thought, but also in the formation of basic worldview principles that correlate with the type of worldview that spreads in the information society. Property is the foremost category that lies beneath the economic system and determines its historical type. On certain stage of the societal development, the differentiation of property into private and public property has played a crucial role in the formation of civil society. Property is a complex category that contains three components: possession, disposal, and use. Possession means the appropriation of material property with the absence of a real right to it. This is de facto, but not de jure property. In the case of possession, the property is not subject to sale, although it is possible to transfer it by inheritance, which creates a precondition for the transformation of possession into property. The historical process is precisely concerning the dialectic of individual and collective property and indicates that they preceded the establishment of private and public property. Private property can be considered as a special type of own property that takes a specific form under the conditions of the capitalist system. It arises as a result of alienation from the means of production of the direct producer. Inequality already has a social character within the society and it is conditioned not only by natural privileges or power, but also, first of all, by property differentiation. In different periods, the right of possession was used instead of property. Property is the right of an owner formally recognized by the state to dispose of it in any form, including the right to sell. This definition is given in ancient Roman law. Property is fully represented with its total content when the combination of all these three components are identified. Based on the analysis, we can conclude that property and its main form - private property, in the process of historical development was constantly experiencing changes, which will be especially important in the information society based on the knowledge economy. Private property will be modified in several directions:  Transformation of own property into private property  Overcoming "alienation" between property and the direct producer  The disappearance of private property in such a way that it no longer defines the social status of a person, which it has traditionally done throughout history. The metamorphosis of private property into achieving a higher degree of social justice is undoubtedly progressive. However, the question arises - what can be said about property equality in this case? The unprecedented growth of the role of individual capabilities of people in the knowledge economy significantly determines the difference between obtain an education and access to information. As a famous sociologist and futurologist f. Fukuyama observes: “In a postindustrial society, we are dealing with a new type of class inequality caused by differences in education levels (Fukuyama F., 1992 p. 116). Here we are in fact dealing with a phenomenon which the German educators called the "natural aristocracy." The process of modification of the capitalist system will differentiate direct producers, when the accumulation of material wealth will be replaced by the accumulation of knowledge, on the one hand - the incomes of knowledge workers will increase significantly, and on the other hand - industrial labor will be marginalized. This type of labor will be for people who will find it very difficult, or impossible to adapt to the new technological and organizational-economic system. Modern media and communications connect people around the world, "but today, as never before, they show profound differences between people." (Coyle D., 2001, p. 167). This phenomenon is known in the scientific literature as "digital inequality". In addition, in the post-industrial society, especially at such a high level as the "information network society" (Castels M. 1996, p.162). Inequality is not related to the phenomenon of private property. It is not a product of the direct producer alienation from both the conditions and the results of production. While being accompanied by the objective phenomena of technicalization, urbanization, and bureaucratization, industrialization as much as possible involved a person in the universalized life of the community, which turned into the formation of a mass society that standardized social life. The paper discusses the specific features of the postmodern situation: decentring, pluralism, fragmentation, etc. Particular attention is paid to the principle of pluralism, which is considered as a counterweight to the narrowing of the diversity of the life spectrum, standardization and uniformity, to which the stage of modernism has led to at the stage of its completion. It is proved that the term "postmodernism" not only reflects the completeness of a certain historical and worldview period, but also implies a revision of approaches and a change in guidelines in the methodology of cognition and sociocultural practice. The listed features of the postmodernism methodology not only provide an idea of the modern type of thinking that overcomes dogmatism, totalitarianism and unification, but also allows to grasp the actual postmodern nature of current active practices of symbolizing meanings that originate with modern culture, which in their genesis are phenomena that destruct the world of conventional values. The evolution of scientific views concerning the formation of the Internet economy in the context of information society theory transformation into a network society theory is revealed in the paper. A critical analysis of the approaches of Japanese scholars to the theory of the information society is made, the specifics and impact of rapid computerization on the formation of their views are determined. It is emphasized on the leading role of F. Mahlup in the development of the concept “knowledge industry”, D. Bell in the development of ideas of “postindustrial society”, M. Porat and M. Rubin in the development of the area of “information economy” as the stages of the theory of information society evolution. The basic approaches to the definition of information society are highlighted: technological, economic, employment, spatial, cultural. The role and importance of M. Castels’ works in the development of the network society theory and Internet economy are substantiated. The role of global network structures which form new e-business industry is identified. It is proven that the success of the Internet economy depends on the ability of businesses to scale their activities quickly, interact in real time and offer personalized product to customers. Post-industrial society is also defined as a "post-class" society, reflecting the breakdown of the stable social structures and identities characteristic of industrial society. If before the status of an individual in a society was determined by his place in the economic structure, that is, by the class affiliation to which all other social characteristics were subordinated, now the status characteristic of the individual is determined by a multitude of factors, among which the increasing role is played by education and the level of culture (according to P. Bourdieu "cultural capital"). On this basis, D. Bell and several other Western sociologists put forward the idea of a new "service" class. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Technology and society have always interacted with one another throughout the history. This interaction between the two has led to some significant changes in the world. Developed each new technology in the society has been accompanied a new revolution such as the Agricultural Revolution, Industrial Revolution and Informatics Revolution. The latest one took place in the world; Informatics Revolution has emerged as a result of the developments in information and communication technologies (ICT). The structure of modern society has also turned into the information society by undergoing change in company with IT revolution. Consequently, ICT began to be perceived as the main factor in the transition of the information society. Here in this research, is discussed the role of ICT in the construction of information society. This study has been carried out on basis of a literature review and assessment upon the theories of post-industrial society that deals with the emergence of information society. According to the results of this theoretical analysis, it was found that the construction of information society is a complex societal process which will not be able to explain by only the extent of technological factors. Within the scope of the study results, the research assumption which propounds that the information society rose as a result of the interaction between society and information technologies was proved.
