Diplomsko delo se začne z zgodovino električnih avtomobilov, do tega, kako so skoraj izumrli. Nato je govora o proizvajalcih električnih avtomobilov in s kakšnimi težavami se spoprijemajo. Diplomsko delo nato govori o vplivu električnih avtomobilov na okolje, saj naj bi bili to avtomobili prihodnosti, vendar je resnica lahko drugačna. Proti koncu diplomskega dela je osredotočenost na stroških električnih avtomobilov od nakupa do možnih subvencij v Republiki Sloveniji, lokacij in načinov polnjenja električnih avtomobilov ter na koncu vzdrževanja vozil. Na koncu diplomskega dela si lahko vsak, ki ga prebere, sam pri sebi ustvari mnenje glede električnih avtomobilov in presodi, ali so res prihodnost sveta oziroma ali se njihov nakup splača. The diploma thesis deals with the costs of electric cars from the purchase itself to the maintenance of the vehicle. The thesis begins with the history of electric cars and how they almost became extinct. Then there is talk of electric car manufacturers and what problems they face. The thesis then discusses the environmental impact of electric cars, because these are said to be the cars of the future, but that might not be the case. Towards the end of the thesis the focus is placed on the very costs of electric cars from their purchase, to possible subsidies in the Republic of Slovenia, the locations and methods of charging electric cars, and ultimately the maintenance of vehicles. At the end of the thesis, anyone who has read it can form their own opinion on electric cars and judge whether they really are the future of the world or whether their purchase is worth it.

Devin Townsend är en artist och musikproducent vars musik kan uppfattas som storslagen. Detta har väckt mitt intresse för att undersöka hans ljudbild samt två kännetecken som ofta kopplas samman med Devin Townsend, dessa är wall of sound och eko. Syftet med denna studie är därför att bidra till ökad förståelse för hur en musikproduktions ljudbild kan vara uppbyggd samt för hur wall of sound och eko kan användas i musikproduktioner. För att analysera hur Devin Townsends användaner av wall of sound och eko i sina produktioner har fyra av hans verk analyserats, dels med en ljudbildsanalys och dels med en intentionsanalys. Undersökningens resultat visar att tre av de fyra undersökta produktionerna är uppbyggde på liknande vis, med hårt distade gitarrer och en stor röstproduktion medan en av produktionerna, verket Daddy, sticker ut och är mycket mer avskalad.

α-Synuclein (α-Syn) is a small presynaptic protein and its mutant forms (e.g. A53T) are known to be directly associated with Parkinson's disease (PD). Pathophysiological mechanisms underlying α-Syn-mediated neurodegeneration in PD still remain to be explored. However, several studies strongly support that overexpression of mutant α-Syn causes reduced release of dopamine (DA) in the brain, and contributes to motor deficits in PD. Using a favorable genetic model Drosophila larva, we examined whether reduced DA release is enough to induce key PD symptoms (i.e. locomotion deficiency and DA neurodegeneration), mimicking a PD gene α-Syn. In order to reduce DA release, we expressed electrical knockout (EKO) gene in DA neurons, which is known to make neurons hypo-excitable. EKO led to a decrease in a DA neuronal marker signal (i.e., TH - tyrosine hydroxylase) and locomotion deficits in Drosophila larva. In contrast, acute and prolonged exposure to blue light (BL, 470 nm) was sufficient to activate channelrhodopsin 2 (ChR2) and rescue PD symptoms caused by both α-Syn and EKO. We believe this is for the first time to confirm that locomotion defects by a genetic PD factor such as α-Syn can be rescued by increasing DA neuronal excitability with an optogenetic approach. Our findings strongly support that PD is a failure of DA synaptic transmission, which can be rescued by optogenetic activation of ChR2.

Darba mērķis - pamatojoties uz teorētiskām atziņām par bioloģisko lauksaimniecību, un reklāmas veidošanas īpatnībām bioloģiski ražotiem produktiem, kā arī aptaujas rezultātiem, izpētīt bioloģisko produktu veikala “Sekoeko.lv” piedāvājumu un reklāmu, atklāt nepilnības un sniegt priekšlikumus piedāvājuma un reklāmas veidošanas pilnveidošanai. Darbā ir 3.nodaļas. Pirmajā nodaļā aplūkota reklāmas būtība, veidi, kā arī sniegts ieskats bioloģiskās lauksaimniecības pamatjautājumos, tai skaitā, raksturotas īpatnības, kas jāņem vērā reklamējot šāda veida produkciju. Otrajā nodaļā analizēta Latvijas bioloģiskās lauksaimniecības attīstība, ņemot vērā pieejamos statistikas datus. Trešajā nodaļā analizēts uzņēmums ‘Sekoeko.lv”, kurš atrodas Valmierā, tai skaitā tā reklāmdarbība, kā arī apkopoti dati par veiktās aptaujas rezultātiem, kuros piedalījās esošie un potenciālie uzņēmuma klienti. Darba beigās apkopoti secinājumi un sniegti priekšlikumi. Darbs sastāv no 92 lapaspusēm, tajā ir 4. tabulas, 37 attēli, 11. pielikumi., The aim of the thesis is to study the offer and advertisings of biologic product shop “Sekoeko.lv” on basis of theoretical works on biologic farming, advertising specifics regarding the biologic products and survey results, discover the imperfections and provide the proposals for improvement in terms of offer management and advertising development. The thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter uncovers the main idea of advertising, types of advertising and general insight into biological farming, describes the specifics to take into account, when advertising this type of products. The second chapter analyses the company “Sekoeko.lv” located in Valmiera, including the marketing department, and summarizes the results of the survey carried out during the research. The survey based on answers of current and potential customers of the company. The final part of the thesis contains conclusions and proposals. Den ohållbara utvecklingen i världen med klimatförändringar och andra miljörelaterade problem som följd, har medfört ett ökat intresse i ämnet hållbarhet och gjort det mer aktuellt än någonsin. Det finns en överensstämmelse om att något måste ske för att motverka den ohållbara trenden. Hållbarhet är ett väl exploaterat ämne inom forskning men det fokuseras främst på den privata sektorn och därmed finansiella aspekter. Tidigare studier belyser avsaknaden av hållbarhetsforskning inom den offentliga sektorn som har andra aspekter än den ekonomiska att ta hänsyn till. Kommuner och landsting, som är en del av den offentliga sektorn, ska fungera som samhällets föredömen och de måste agera utifrån invånarnas intresse. De har mer sociala värderingar än den privata sektorn och måste ta hänsyn till mjukare attribut. I nyare forskning om hållbarhet har användandet av subjektiva begrepp som välbefinnande och livskvalitet ökat. Flertalet studier visar att det finns ett samband mellan hållbarhet och välbefinnande. Den här studien ämnar bidra till forskningen inom den offentliga sektorn genom att undersöka Sveriges kommuner. I studien ingår totalt 90 kommuner där 38 av dem är ekokommuner, som aktivt valt att arbeta med hållbarhetsfrågor. Studien undersöker om det finns ett samband mellan kommunernas hållbarhetsarbete och deras invånares nöjdhet. Med utgångspunkt i tidigare forskning bör ekokommunerna, som engagerar sig i hållbarhet, ha nöjdare invånare än övriga kommuner. Studien undersöker även om de ekokommuner som presterar bra i hållbarhet, baserat på resultat från 15 nyckeltal, har nöjdare invånare.

Nausea is usually associated with early to late stages of pregnancy. Geophagy-deliberate consumption of soil is a common method of managing gravidae-induced discomfort. To control nausea, pregnant women in Nigeria commonly eat baked clay called “Eko” and another type of clay that induces buccal constriction called “Omumu”. The metal contents in Eko and Omumu, digested under different pH conditions (acidic, alkaline and neutral), were investigated using Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICPS-OES). We identified and quantitate the elements present and speculate on their potential impact on maternal and fetal health upon gestational exposure beyond the acceptable exposure levels and the Millennium Contaminant Level Goals (MCLG) set by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). Specifically, our result indicates unacceptably high levels of aluminum in Eko and Omumu (>10-fold greater than the highest desirable levels set by the USEPA). The aluminum concentrations were influenced by the pH condition in which the samples were digested. Dietary exposure to aluminum at such high levels may be deleterious to maternal health and fetal development. Therefore consumption of Eko and Omumu as an antidote to reduce nausea during pregnancy should be discouraged. Future studies are planned to investigate specific impacts on fetal and maternal health and likely teratogenicity in rodent models.

Giriş ve Amaç: Yapılan tüm açık kalp ameliyatları içerisinde kalp kapak cerrahisi koroner bypass cerrahisinden sonra sıklık olarak ikinci sırada gelmektedir. Mitral kapak cerrahisinde (özellikle mitral yetmezlikte) en önemli amaç sol ventrikül dilatasyonunu önleyerek sol ventrikül fonksiyonlarını korumaktır. Mitral kapak değişimi yapılmış olan hastaların preoperatif tanılarında ve postoperatif değerlendirmelerinde ekokardiyografinin önemli yeri vardır. Bu çalışmada preoperatif dönemde hastanın sol ventrikül sistol sonu çapları, sol ventrikül diyastol sonu çapları, sol atrium çapları, interventriküler septum kalınlığı, triküspit yetmezliği, pulmoner arter basınçları ve ejeksiyon fraksiyonunun postoperatif 3 ile 6 aylık dönemde nasıl etkilendiğini görmek amaçlanmıştır. Materyal ve Metod: Bu çalışmada mitral kapak değişimi yapılan 52 hasta bulunmaktadır. Bu hastalarımız retrospektif olarak incelendi. Bulgular: Diyabetes mellitus (DM), kronik obstrüktif akciğer hastalığı (KOAH), hipertansiyon (HT), sigara, cinsiyet ve yaş demografik parametreler olarak değerlendirildi. Çalışmamızda mitral kapak replasmanı yapılan hastaların preoperatif ve postoperatif sol ventrikül sistol sonu çapları, sol ventrikül diyastol sonu çapları, sol atriyum çapları, interventriküler septum kalınlığı, triküspit yetmezliği, pulmoner arter basınçları ve ejeksiyon fraksiyonu parametreleri istatistiksel veriler olarak karşılaştırıldı. Sonuç: Mitral kapak değişimi ile sol ventrikül sistolik fonksiyonlarda koruma ve düzelme amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışmamızda mitral kapak değişimi yapılan 52 hastada preoperatif ve postoperatif ejeksiyon fraksiyonu, sol atrium çapı, pulmoner arter basıncı ve triküspit yetmezliğindeki değişimlerde istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur. Çalışmamızda da gösterildiği gibi operasyon sonrası bazı eko parametrelerindeki düzelmeler sol ventrikül sitolik fonksiyonlarda düzelme ve koruma sağlamıştır. The most important goal in mitral valve surgery is to preserve left ventricular functions by preventing left ventricular dilation (especially in mitral regurgitation). Echocardiography plays an important role in preoperative diagnosis and postoperative evaluation of patients undergoing mitral valve replacement procedure. This study was carried out in order to determine how left ventricular end-systolic and end-diastolic diameters, left atrial diameters, interventricular septum thickness, tricuspid insufficiency, pulmonary arter pressures in the preoperative period were affected during the 3-6 month postoperative period. Material:Into the study, we included 52 patients undergoing mitral valve replacement. Those 52 patients were evaluated retrospectively Results:Diabetes mellitus (DM), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), hypertension (HT), smoking, gender and age were evaluated as demographic parameters. In our patients undergoing mitral valve replacement procedure, we statistically compared the preoperative and postoperative parameters with regard to left ventricular end-systolic diameters, left ventricular end-diastolic diameters, left atrium diameter, interventricular septum thickness, tricuspid insufficiency,pulmonary artery pressures and ejection fraction. Conclusion:Through mitral valve replacement procedure, the goal is to ensure preservation and improvement in left ventricular systolic functions. In our studycarried out on 52 patients undergoing mitral valve replacement surgery, statistically a significant relationship was determined to exist between preoperative and postoperative changes in ejection fraction, left atrium diameter, pulmonary artery pressure and tricuspid regurgitation. As it is shown in the study, postoperative improvements in some echo parameters ensured improvement and preservation in left ventricular systolic functions. Evaluation of human and animal health surveillance programs is currently lacking in most developing countries including sub-Saharan Africa. To evaluate the burden of salmonellosis and antimicrobial resistance status in developing countries, we need to identify the sources, serovar distribution and the prevalence of Salmonella to guide in the formulation of control program. This study was undertaken to determine the prevailing Salmonella serovars, the occurrence and the antimicrobial susceptibility patterns of Salmonella enterica subspecies enterica recovered from fish. Stratified random sampling was carried out in 2009 on 200 fish samples. All the isolates were biochemically characterized and presumptive Salmonella isolates were serotyped using standard procedure and tested for antimicrobial susceptibility by minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). A total of 23 isolates were positive for Salmonella out of the 200 samples (11.5%) analyzed, three different serovars comprising Salmonella serovars Hadar, 47: mt:-, and Eko were obtained. Generally, the antimicrobial resistance profile was low; however Salmonella Hadar showed a high level of resistance to the antimicrobial agents. Salmonella serovars; Hadar, 47: mt:- and Eko are the pathogens associated with fish contamination in Maiduguri, North eastern Nigeria and constitute serious health risks for the human population and need to be controlled by targeted interventions.

Objectives: Despite a lack of scientific evidence, oxygen has long been a part of standard treatment for patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). However, several studies suggest that oxygen therapy may have negative cardiovascular effects. We here describe a randomized controlled trial, i.e. Supplemental Oxygen in Catheterized Coronary Emergency Reperfusion (SOCCER), aiming to evaluate the effect of oxygen therapy on myocardial salvage and infarct size in patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) treated with a primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods: One hundred normoxic STEMI patients accepted for a primary PCI are randomized in the ambulance to either standard oxygen therapy or no supplemental oxygen. All patients undergo cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) 2-6 days after the primary PCI, and a subgroup of 50 patients undergo an extended echocardiography during admission and at 6 months. All patients are followed for 6 months for hospital admission for heart failure and subjective perception of health. The primary endpoint is the myocardial salvage index on CMR. Discussion: Even though oxygen therapy is a part of standard care, oxygen may not be beneficial for patients with AMI and is possibly even harmful. The results of the present and concurrent oxygen trials may change international treatment guidelines for patients with AMI or ischemia.

Vårt examensarbete undersöker förutsättningarna för hållbar möbelproduktion. och vi gör detta genom ett flödesschema som skall användas vid uppstart av hållbart producerande företag. Idén bygger på att råvarorna utvinns och förädlas inom en femmilsradie. Vi hoppas kunna åstadkomma en djupare relation mellan användaren och objektet än vad endast köpande och ägande ger. Vi har valt att tydliggöra konstruktion och uppbyggnad, samtidigt som formen uppmanar förnuftet till kritiskt ifrågasättande av stabilitet och hållbarhet både konkret och i ett vidareperspektiv. Vi vill att objektet skall kunna utvecklas, individualiseras och anpassas efter användaren så att de tillsammans kan leva vidare in i ett samhälle vi ännu inte känner till. The concept is based on the idea of raw materials being extracted and processed within a fifty kilometre radius. We hope to bring about a deeper relationship between user and object than that which comes with mere purchasing and ownership. We have chosen to make construction and structure apparent, while the design invites the mind to critical questioning of stability and sustainability, both in a literal and a wider sense. We want the object to be developed, personalised and tailored to the user, so that together they can live on in a society that we do not yet know

Die neuzetliche Unterscheidung zwischen der Natur und der Geschichte nimmt in der transzendentalen Philosophie Kants eine ganz eigentümlichen Gestalt ein. Kant führt diesen Begriffe innerhalb der Naturgeschichte im unmittelbaren Verhältnis ein, mit seiner Auffassung des (geographischen) Raumes, der (geschichtlichen) Zeit und der zweckmäßigen Natur. Ich versuche die Hauptthesen, die die Früheschriften Kants, die Kritik der Urteilskraft und seinen Nachlass verbindet, zu erwagen, welche den Entwurf einer „revolutionären“ Eko-Politik, als potentiell in seiner Philosophie anwesend, beinhalten. Diesen entscheidenden naturgeschichtlichen Begriffe der Philosophie der Spätaufklärung bezieht Kant zugleich mit seiner ethischen Lehre, bzw. mit seinem Pflichtsbegriff. Daher wird es der Herausforderung ökologischer Fragen ein Argument geboten, das eine transzendentale Kritik des Anthropozentrismus deutlich betont, und die Verfügbarkeit über die natürlichen Ressourcen strengt von ihrer Nützlichkeit für den menschlichen Geschöpfen trennt.

Denna rapport analyserar ekosläckning för en full duplex högtalartelefon. Systemet bygger på en LMS-algoritm som har implementerats på en TMS320C3 1 signalprocessor. Arbetet har gått ut på att undertrycka ekon genom utnyttja så mycket som möjligt av processoms kapacitet. Möjligheterna för att två eller fler personer skall kunna tala med varandra på att ledigt sätt genom en högtalartelefon påverkas mycket av de ekon som finns i systemet. Högtalartelefonens mikrofon fångar upp ljudet ifrån sin egen högtalare och skickar detta ljud tillbaka genom telefonnätet. Utan någon form av ekokontroll uppstår ett irriterande eko av sin egen röst i telefonen. Ju längre fardröjning som telefonnätet tillför, ju mer irriterande blir ekot. Konventionella högtalartelefoner använder röstaktivering av mikrofonen för att bli av med ekot. Detta medför att de samtalande partertema inte både kan höra och prata med varandra samtidigt. Detta kallas i kommunikationssammanhang Halv-Duplex. Denna onaturliga form av samtal medför att bägge börjar tala samtidigt och att de avbryter varandra. 1 mitt arbete tittar jag närmare på metoder för ekokontroll med mål att bägge parterna skall både kunna tala med och höra varandra simultant, sk. Full-Duplex, utan rundgång. Teorierna kring adaptiv ekosläckning har varit kända sedan Iänge men det är inte förrän på senare tid som det finns processorer som klarar av beräkningarna’ i realtid. TMS320C3 1 ‘an har inte riktigt den önskvärda beräkningskapaciteten för realtidsberäkning av langa adaptiva FIR-filter. En filterlängd på 300 filter koefficienter uppnåddes. För att nå upp till denna längd användes en metod med adaptering bara på halva bandbredden, 1500 Hz. Den andra halvan av bandbredden, 1500 - 3500 Hz, i ett telefonnät lämnades ofiltrerad. Ett stort bekymmer visade sig vara att finna en lamplig metod för att besluta när adaptering får ske. En enkel sk. taldetektor implementerades för detta endamål.
