Huanma paper-cut is the representation of the first batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage masterpieces of Sichuan province. In recent years, Huanma Town in Cangxi County of Sichuan Province has continuously explored and trans⁃ formed traditional techniques into a cultural industry, seeking a market for the development of Huanma paper-cutting industry and realizing the transformation of the industrial structure of“prospering the town with culture and promoting literature with classics”. At present, Huanma’s paper-cutting inheritance work faces problems such as insufficient follow-up, fewer papercut inheritance craftsmen, lack of in-depth theoretical research and deviations in development positioning. In the period of rural revitalization, the protection project of Huanma paper-cut should start from improving the“intangible cultural heritage”man⁃ agement mechanism, cultivating and protecting the inheritors of paper-cutting skills, increasing the promotion of intangible cul⁃ tural heritage, creating a market brand of paper-cutting culture, and strengthening the construction of paper-cutting schoolbased courses, etc. Aspects of systematic construction, so as to promote its sound development. The Australian Broadband Advisory Council (ABAC) released a position paper on the future of Creative Industry in March 2022, as part of series of papers formed by various industry expert working groups. The purpose of the Creative Industry position paper was to provide advice and recommendations to the Minister for Communications on ways to maximise the benefits of the National Broadband Network (NBN) and other high-speed networks in key sectors of the economy. This article outlines the key findings of the position paper and discusses briefly other key global and local activities since the publication of the position paper that are of note, such as Covid-19, the 2023 writers' strike and the concerns around AI technology deployment in the Creative Industry. CAVE is a shared narrative six degrees of freedom (6DoF) virtual reality experience. In 3.5 days, 1,927 people attended its premiere at SIGGRAPH 2018. Thirty participants at a time each saw and heard the same narrative from their own individual location in the room, as they would when attending live theater. CAVE set out to disruptively change how audiences collectively experience immersive art and entertainment. Inspired by the social gatherings of theater and cinema, CAVE resonated with viewers in powerful and meaningful ways. In commemoration of its 30th anniversary, Industry and Innovation renewed the tradition of awarding a 'Best Paper Prize.' This prize aims to honour the best article published in the journal each year, starting from 2021. In this revived initiative, the Editorial Board evaluates all papers published in the reference year and identifies the most relevant and original articles. Within this shortlist, the members of the Editorial Advisory Board cast their vote on the best paper of the year. The purpose of this paper is to explore the praxis of creative social entrepreneuring as a vehicle for creative emancipation. The main research question asks how the knowledge and practice of entrepreneuring intersects with creative practice, process, and production in the development of a creative social enterprise. This study contributes to entrepreneurship and creative industries literature highlighting the actions of entrepreneurship in connection with concepts of emancipation and empowerment. Additionally, this paper contributes knowledge about the impact of entrepreneurial activities within the context of the creative economy. The study takes a deep-context autoethnographic approach towards the praxis of entrepreneuring by a creative social entrepreneur. Research using an autoethnographic approach of an individual creative social entrepreneur contributes to creative and cultural entrepreneurship research by illuminating the unique challenges and opportunities they face as they navigate entrepreneurship dynamics within the creative economy and uncover the factors that contribute to social innovation. This study aims to illuminate the practices of entrepreneuring that create sustainable opportunities for creative emancipation. This paper addresses calls for contextually embedded studies on entrepreneurship in the creative economy. This paper studies the evermore widespread phenomenon of the adaptation of novels for the stage, focusing on prizewinning contemporary Chinese novels. The first part provides the theoretical approach that is adopted in the second part, where two cases studies are discussed, i.e. the stage adaptation of the novel The Song of Everlasting Sorrow by Wang Anyi and of the novel To Live by Yu Hua. Starting from the perspective of "horizontal relations" among texts (Hutcheon 2013), the analysis of the adaptation process takes its distance from the fidelity/infidelity discourse, in order to investigate the network of echoing versions (trans-media, trans-language, etc) it is able to produce. This network is much more interesting to explore than supposed vertical hierarchies. Nevertheless, not every version is a text able to live independently from its source: the analysis shows that today's phenomenon of trans-media adaptation is fostered by a cultural industry that aims at exploiting all profits from a bestselling prizewinning novel. In view that Culture and Creative Industries (CCI) are multi-sector, emergent, and complex, this paper couples the theoretical perspective of Margaret Archer's Morphogenetic Approach with Adam Kahane's Tansformative Scenario Planning (TSP) as its strategic framework to discover, articulate, and connect cross-sector (community-based organizations, industry, government, and education) CCI efforts. This study has sought to understand how and in what ways the actions found in the creative sector can be leveraged to enhance participation and ameliorate the outputs of socio-economic efforts across the full spectrum of the greater Seattle region. Thus, though this example it contributes to the creation of vital places of public welfare, where public frameworks and policies nurture accessibility and participate in connected culture and creative ecology. Digital economy has become a "new engine" that driving global economic growth. Nevertheless, numerous controversies persist regarding whether and how digital economy can facilitate the development of emerging industries. Thus, this paper investigates how digital economy affects creative industries development in China and whether innovation efficiency mediates this relationship. Drawing upon a panel data set containing 29 Chinese provinces from 2012 to 2019, an econometric model is constructed for empirical analysis. We find that digital economy significantly promotes creative industries development, and innovation efficiency plays a partial mediating role between digital economy and creative industries development. According to the influence mechanism, the digital economy of various regions could promote the creative industries development by improving the innovation efficiency. Regional policy is a package of interrelated measures and tools aimed at the moderation and elimination of disparities in the economic development of regions. Regional policy is an integral part of the macroeconomic policy of the state, and it is carried out in close cooperation with sectoral, structural, and urban policies. This paper is focused on entrepreneurial support in the creative industries at the national, regional, and local levels. It is also centered on the support of small and medium-sized enterprises and institutions that affect the business environment and can influence the support of creative industries, mainly advertising in the Žilina Region. The paper aims to determine the current state of entrepreneurial capital support in the creative industry. The paper is focused on analyzing and evaluating the research results in the advertising industry of the Žilina Region, which represents the mainstay of the creative industry. To achieve the paper's aim, a questionnaire survey was conducted. It was designed for advertising enterprises; specifically advertising agencies operating in the Žilina Region. A relatively new scientific discipline that finds its primary source in psychology, better known as behavioural economics, is attracting the attention of many authors. It is increasingly applied for the purpose of better understanding consumers, especially in decision making, including personal feelings and limitations in a realistic way. This paper aims to present a model of application of behavioural economics in the sectors of the creative industry. The creative industry has great potential in the role of regional development, accordingly the application of behavioural economy in its sectors can have a positive impact on the further development of the economy of the Republic of Croatia. The paper proposes a model for applying mental accounting to increase the number of visitors in the arts and culture sector to increase the attendance at events of projects funded by EU projects and which must be free. Highlighting minorities and crime survivors through public discourse is essential for their support and protection. However, advocating for minorities is challenging due to the fear of potential isolation from one's social circles. This reluctance contributes to the societal phenomenon known as the "spiral of silence," significantly impeding efforts to support socially vulnerable individuals. This study centers on a pivotal instance where the silence surrounding sexual abuse in the Japanese entertainment industry was disrupted, in which the late company president had allegedly abused idol trainees of the company for decades. Utilizing extensive data from news media and social media, the study probes the engagement dynamics of public attention to this scandal. Results indicate that users on social media provided earlier and greater coverage for this scandal compared to news media outlets. Furthermore, television demonstrated a significant delay in addressing this issue compared to other news media, such as tabloids, magazines, and online news. Regarding social media engagement, idol fans exhibited a more subdued response to the issue compared to the general public. Notably, fans more loyal to the company tended to be slower to mention the issue, with a higher likelihood of standing in defense of the perpetrators. Moreover, conflicting attitudes were observed within the fan communities, culminating in an observable "echo chamber" phenomenon. This paper presents a novel examination of the process of disruption of social silence and offers critical insights for aiding vulnerable individuals in environments dominated by an unacknowledged spiral of silence. This study is novel in that it suggests a reinterpretation of the "spiral of silence theory" in the age of social media, through a comprehensive analysis of relevant social media data and news media data. Cultural industries constitute a crucial part of the sustainable economy. In accordance with the principles of socialist public ownership nations, the economic benefits of cultural industries should be ultimately transformed into more significant social benefits. Guided by the policies and requirements of the Chinese government concerning the social benefits of cultural industries, this paper innovatively integrates Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and Tobit models to empirically analyze the social benefits and their influencing factors within China's cultural industries. The findings indicate that the social benefits of China's cultural industries are currently in a state of diminishing returns to scale, with fiscal support and educational levels significantly enhancing the industry's social benefits. This paper recommends that policymakers aiming to convert the economic benefits of cultural industries into social benefits more systematically and effectively should focus on enhancing the quality of industry outputs. The Metaverse promises to change our lives and how we usually interact with the world. However, it can only evolve with technological development and entertainment engagement advances. To investigate more leads regarding this concept, we have a main search question: How are the Metaverse, gaming, and digital twins represented in Academia? To answer it, we need to verify and determine how the Metaverse is defined, how gaming, as an entertainment industry, is represented, and how Digital Twins are defined by scientific knowledge. It will also be important to analyze how these concepts are intercorrelated. Here, we present a documental study—meta-analysis—of the most relevant indexed scientific papers published in the last ten years, according to predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Leximancer software will help us determine the main concepts and themes extracted from these articles—namely from the Keywords, Abstracts, Methodologies, and Conclusions sections. This study allows us to understand how these concepts are perceived, contribute to a scientific discussion, and give suggestions for future research and new leads on approaching these concepts. The paper problematizes Ghatak’s Marxist treatment of the Bengali as well as the Brahmanical repertoire of cultural knowledge, for the purpose of carving out a Communist significance of the period. Rather than a recontextualization of traditional myths, the paper reads in this attitude a nostalgic particularistic abstraction of a rich array of aesthetic ideas, which are best appreciated in their diverse cultural context. The paper argues that Ghatak utilizes creative opuses of vast potential to serve political goals, with an aim of strengthening the East Bengali immigrant population in post-Partition West Bengal. The paper criticizes how Ghatak breaks down the traditions from different spatial and temporal coordinates for serving the representation of the plights of the Bengali Refugee – making a powerful integrated identity of the traumatized subject at the expense of erasing class, caste, communal and gender distinctions. The research area of sustainable cultural events is considered one of the most important today for the cultural industry, creative economy, and tourism. For this reason, this review aims to understand which aspects, related to economic, social, and environmental awareness could be achieved by sustainable cultural events. The importance of green cultural events, their potential benefits as environmental conservation, public awareness, education and community engagement, and the strategies employed as waste reduction and recycling, energy efficiency, eco-friendly transportation, sustainable catering etc., create an environmentally conscious celebration. The author chose to perform a literature review because the systematic review of previously written and published research papers allows to deepen the specific topic, by making comparisons. In order to collect studies for this paper, the author has carried out a literature review using the Scopus database in August 2023 and in November 2023 which can be considered as a preliminary systematic review for the selected topic using the Prisma model. The innovation of cultural and creative industries is not only helpful to improve the ability of independent innovation and optimize the industrial structure but also beneficial to the improvement of national competitiveness. Based on this, this paper makes multidimensional statistics and analysis of the literature on cultural and creative industry projects published in recent ten years through the method of literature measurement. At present, the research on cultural and creative industry projects in domestic university libraries has made some progress, but there are also some problems, such as small amount of papers, weak research force, wide and deep research, in order to provide reference for the promotion and evaluation of cultural and creative industry projects and promote the in-depth and effective development of cultural and creative industry projects. The development and main characteristics of global research related to cultural and creative industries from 1995 to 2020 have been investigated using bibliographic data derived from the Scopus database. We identified 746 single-authored documents among a total of 1099 documents indexed in the Scopus database during this period, with an annual growth rate of 18%. English-speaking countries such as the UK, the USA, Australia and Canada were the most important contributors to this research field, participated in more than 50% of documents of the collection. The most productive scholars and institutions were all located in Australia and the UK. Quality of the publication collection was good, as nine over ten most popular journals who published a quarter of the collection, were classified into the first quartile of the SCImago Journal & Country Rank. The present paper investigates the location patterns and the effects co-working spaces (CWS) generate on the urban context. The focus is on Barcelona, one of the most important creative hubs in Europe in terms of knowledge-based, creative, digital, and sharing economy, and the city hosting the largest number of co-working spaces in Spain. The paper addresses three main questions: (1) Which are the location patterns of co-working spaces in Barcelona? (2) Do CWS agglomerate in the same areas? And, (3) Do CWS coagglomerate with the creative industries (CIs)? To do that, this paper uses open data on Barcelona neighbourhoods' socioeconomic composition provided by the Statistics Department of the Council of Barcelona and micro-geographic data of private CWS and creative labs in Barcelona. By using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Kd functions of agglomeration and coagglomeration, results show that CWS are highly concentrated in central areas of Barcelona where there are greater chances to meet customers and suppliers, the proximity to urban amenities and the fact of being associated to a specific place-image. Moreover, they coagglomerate with CIs firms, especially with symbolic and synthetic knowledge-based CIs. These results are relevant when assessing the actual goal of urban policies in Barcelona. Purpose: The paper presents and practically verifies the concept of Action Nets Creating Emotional Values (ANCEV) which is embedded in network approach in management. The concepts is empirically verified in three cluster organizations operating in Poland. Design/methodology/approach: The research was conducted with the use of case studies analysis where traditional networks are identified. In the network a nodes represents actors – cluster members while edges represent existing relationships between actors. Then the action net of the cluster is visualized through the Event Process Chain (EPC) diagram. The diagrams in particular presented actions (processes, activities, realized tasks) and states (effects, resources, values) and the relationships between these elements Findings: Action nets networks and clusters in creative industries could be represented in the form of Action Nets Creating Emotional Values (ANCEV). Research limitations/implications: The action nets represents relatively temporarily state of affairs, not formally structured. This is the main limitation of action nets identification. With this kind of research the key actions can be identified and also relationships between actions can be defined. Practical implications: Action nets and particularly ANCEV can be implemented in unformal networks of cooperation in creative industries. Social implications: An increasing role of creative industries and their impact on society implies the importance of research on knowledge management in creative industries. The approach presented in the paper can be useful for every kind of interpersonal and interorganizational networks. Originality/value: The concept of ANCEV prepared by the author is new in the paper. The concept and research approach is addressed to researcher and practitioners dealing with cooperation in creative industries and the problem of knowledge management in interpersonal and interorganizational networks. Collaboration is the core of creative work, and it can help small and mediumsized enterprises, as well as individual creative professionals, develop creative products that would not be possible if these parties were working separately. The aim of the paper is to reveal benefits of collaboration in creative industries from theoretical and practical perspectives. The paper analyses the concept of collaboration in creative industries and provides a theoretical overview of collaboration models that can take various forms, such as networks, creative intermediaries, and clusters. Also, the author has developed a creative industry collaboration matrix, including the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia's list of creative industries (Architecture, Design, Cinema, Performing arts, Visual arts, Music, Publishing, Television, Radio and interactive media, Advertising, Computer games and Interactive software, Cultural heritage, Cultural education, Recreation, Advertising, Entertainment and other cultural activities) [LR Ministry of Culture 2022], as well as adding two more creative industries, which are identified in other theoretical models of creative industries used in Europe - Fashion and Crafts. By interviewing various experts from creative industries, the intensity and frequency of collaboration in creative industries are compared, and it is evaluated which creative industries are more prone to collaboration. This paper explores an expanding area of policy interest: the networks and collaboration mechanisms between universities and creative industries actors in cities. While much is known about such relationships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), they remain taken for granted and under researched in the creative industries. We argue that they are pivotal for different domains of research and policy, notably, cultural policy, higher education, innovation systems, and regional development. To that end, this paper aims to open up consideration of these relationships which we argue 1) stimulate innovation and 2) make broader contributions to local communities and economic regeneration via a creative economy approach. Using the Triple Helix framework, we explore university-industry-governemnt relationships and knowledge exchange mechanisms via a comparative analysis of two creative industries case cities: Shenzhen, China and Brisbane, Australia. Despite differences in certain important respects the two cities have both adopted creative industries policy frameworks. We found important differences between the cases in the roles and relative strength of the three sectoral actors. This study also shows a need for strategic incentives to foster collective capacity and governance interventions as a push to broker relationships that were not there before. Focussing on boundary spanning we also argue that cultural policy should have formal mechanisms and informal interactions to build a sustainable innovation ecosystem based on knowledge exchange. In 2021, China's entertainment industry experienced a series of unusual argumentative controversies followed by the creation of the Qing Lang movement initiated by the Chinese government that called for tackling irregularities in the industry. With strong support from the Chinese public, the Qing Lang movement presents an intriguing case to examine a new model of social argument representing both the public and state interest in resolving social problems in the Chinese version of the public sphere. The paper identifies key characteristics defining a reciprocal model of social activism in state-sponsored actions in China exemplified by the Qing Lang movement. The paper also argues for the value of a culture-specific approach to understanding public sphere and social activism and clarifies the function of argument in Chinese society. In order to explore the relationship between local autonomous cultural and creative industries and economic and cultural upgrading, this paper uses a questionnaire survey to conduct practical investigation and analysis, and discusses the relationship between the following aspects. Local self-government, The results show that local autonomous cultural creativity can promote economic growth and improve cultural level, and there is a certain correlation between economic growth and cultural upgrading, but the correlation is poor, indicating that the impact of economic growth on cultural upgrading is indirect, and cultural upgrading and economic growth are the main factors for the development of local autonomous cultural and creative industries. Local autonomy is the main influencing factor of economic growth and cultural upgrading, and it is also a combination factor for the development of cultural and creative industries.
