The current increase in the use of mobile devices in the foreign language classroom has expanded the presence of lexical tools such as free-access online bilingual dictionaries. Unfortunately, their use is not adequately explained and regulated yet. This lack of pedagogical intentionality gave rise to a research study focused on the curricular integration of these types of dictionaries in the context of teaching English as a foreign language at the higher education level. This article documents the process that was carried out to design and implement a triangulation matrix that allowed an integrative synthesis of the data provided by the sample made up of four EFL university teachers through three data collection instruments. This integrative synthesis facilitated the identification of a series of factors associated with the curricular integration of bilingual online dictionaries. This identification led to a series of administrative, pedagogical, and didactic proposals aimed at strengthening said process in foreign language teaching contexts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ACCOUNTING education , *ACCOUNTING methods , *ALTERNATIVE education , *COLLEGE teachers , *ACCOUNT books - Abstract
Scientific studies that adopt the experimental method in the accounting area, in brazil, are uncommon. In the field of accounting education, they are even less frequent. In this sense, the aim of the study was to describe, based on a narrative review of the specifically selected literature, national and international studies in the field of accounting education using an experimental and quasi-experimental method and, additionally, to present research opportunities in this field with the use of the method. Methodologically, the study has a bibliographic character. After surveying procedures with accounting journals, 7 national and 76 international papers were obtained, whose methodology used was experiment or quasi-experiment. As a result, the objectives of the studies, national and international, are similar, with a focus on verifying the effects of different methodologies on student performance and satisfaction. However, the main difference lies in the number of studies, which was higher in the international context, and resulted in a wide array of topics studied. The main contribution of the study is to demonstrate opportunities for using experiments to promote improvements in teaching, learning, professor training and institutional policies. The new demands of scientific-technical development have led to the need for a greater presence of higher education institutions (HEI) in scientific research. This induces the active participation of universities to respond to society's demands and implement changes in their processes. The People's Republic of China (PRC), from the educational policy developed during the last decades, attributes importance to this issue as one of its main tasks. The idea that knowledge is a substantial source of wealth has permeated the way in which the ideal Chinese society is thought of. In this sense, it is necessary to train the professors of the Advertising career at Harbin Normal University. The purpose of this article is to analyze some of the theoretical references for the study of the research skills of the professors of this career, from the philosophical and pedagogical points of view. The continuing and permanent formation of professors characterize itself as a space of reflection, updating, deepening of knowledge and practices, development of experiences and expansion of professional skills. In this context, the present article is inserted, whose objective is to reflect on professor’s education for a liberating educational practice based on Freirean thought. In that way, we used a qualitative approach making use of bibliographic research and research field, the last one is made through a questionnaire with four professors acting on elementary schools in the municipality of Cruzeiro do Sul-Acre. The results stand out that professors approach the need of inseparability between theory and practice in formation courses, essential for a Liberating and critical education. Beyond that, stand out that in schools there is no space for collective discussions about daily professor’s issues, residing on continuing formation the moment for exchange of experiences. CULTURAL pluralism , *EMIGRATION & immigration , *ETHNIC differences , *COLLEGE students , *COLLEGE teachers , *EDUCATION - Abstract
Superdiversity has become a popular term to depict the societal impact of migration in Europe, but does its heuristic value justify its popularity? The term superdiversity seems to be important to many scholars, but is it relevant to the lived experiences and applicable to the reality of migrants and non-migrants in societal institutions like education? This article aims to assess this heuristic value by applying superdiversity’s connotations to findings of 125 interviews with students and teachers of a Dutch university of applied sciences. The two different configurations of diversity found, i.e. commonplace diversity and essentialist diversity, question superdiversity’s heuristic value. First, students do not experience diversity as something exciting or ‘super’ or positive, as superdiversity authors suggest. Their main concerns, i.e. to enjoy education and to construct their identities in line with institutional demands, are not covered by the notion of superdiversity. Second, key descriptive meanings associated with superdiversity do not make sense to these configurations of diversity, i.e. discarding the ethno-focal lens and expectations of more or new and multilayered complexity. Findings point to conviviality, creolization, ethnic boundaries and groupism, not to superdiversity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The goal of this work is to identify sexual health myths (HIV and other STI's), types of attitude (related to sexuality, double standard, sexual orientation and gender identity) and risky sexual behaviors in university teacher education students of Costa Rica. This research also explores differences between men and women and the relationship among variables. The results allow to design actions regarding the promotion of healthy and satisfactory sexuality experience, as well as the addition of educative strategies concerning this field. The sample consisted of 301 students, 228 (75.7%) women y 73 (24.3%) men, aged between 17 y 36 (M = 21.5; SD = 3.08). The descriptive analysis pointed out a higher presence of myths associated with HIV and other STIs, along with attitudes of censorship and erotophobia in men. On the opposite, unprotected sexual behaviors were more prevalent among women. The results lead us to propose strategies in order to strengthen sexual education of future teachers, enabling them to address a quality emotional and sexual education. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper discusses the teaching practices and beliefs of university teachers in the city of Temuco in Chile. To that effect, twelve university teachers working with fourth and fifth-level students in a health degree were asked open-ended questions. Data analysis followed the principles of grounded theory (GT) methodology. Open coding was used for the analysis, which produced the category 'Teaching practices and beliefs' and four sub-categories: 1) educational planning, 2) teaching methodology, 3) an epistemological model of teaching, and 4) the micro-curriculum. The results of the study show that, as part of their teaching beliefs, teachers place value on practices that make it easier for students to participate and be active in class, but which are also inflexible and restricted by aspects such as planning and previously established programs. Consequently, they need to examine the basis of their beliefs and pedagogical knowledge more thoroughly to inject new meaning into their work in the classroom, thus improving education at this level. Before he was elected to become the Pope, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger had been working as a university professor for many years, and even today he is passionate about education. In this article, we examine some of the Discourses and Letters focused on education that Pope Benedict XVI has addressed during the first four years of his Papacy, in which the one-time professor deals with matters closely related to education, its specific purpose, the difficulties that education faces nowadays, and their main causes. These texts can be considered as valuable contributions to understanding some aspects of the present educational crisis, which Benedict XVI describes as a time of "educational emergency".
