Abstract

Research has been conducted on the spirobicyclic neurokinin NK-1 receptor antagonist anipod. The synthesis of this antipode has been carried out and the results indicate that the resulting allylic halide bears the cyclopropoxy-substituted aryl group.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on the M (sub)3 antagonist. The synthesis of this structurally unique antagonist has been carried out and the results indicate that after being disconnected retrosynthetically at the amide bond it revealed the acid portion and amine fragment.

Abstract

A study was conducted to analyze the synthesis of (S)-3-carbethoxy-3-benzylpiperidine and the growth hormone secretagogue L163,540. Molecular sieves were utilized to dry solvents for anhydrous reactions. Manipulations were performed under an inert environment of nitrogen gas. High performance liquid chromatography was then carried out using a B-03-5 YMC Basic. In addition, silica gel was used to perform flash column chromatography.

A stereoselective synthesis of (R)-beta-amino acid via a beta-lactam intermediate is discussed. The selective synthesis of beta-amino is the subject of tremendous effort principally due to their important biological activity as enzyme inhibitors or as alpha-amino acid surrogates in the construction of peptides unique conformational properties (beta-peptides).
