Objectives: Describe a predictive model of hospitalization frequency for children and adolescents with chronic disease. Methods: A decision tree-based model was built using a database of 141 children and adolescents with chronic disease admitted to a federal public hospital; 18 variables were included and the frequency of hospitalization was defined as the outcome. Results: The decision tree obtained in this study could properly classify 80.85% of the participants. Model reading provided an understanding that situations of greater vulnerability such as unemployment, low income, and limited or lack of family involvement in care were predictors of a higher frequency of hospitalization. Conclusions: The model suggests that nursing professionals should adopt prevention actions for modifiable factors and authorities should make investments in health promotion for non-modifiable factors. It also enhances the debate about differentiated care to these patients. RESUMEN Objetivos: Describir un modelo predictor de frecuencia de internación hospitalaria para niños y adolescentes con enfermedades crónicas. Métodos: Se construyó un modelo basado en árboles de decisión, utilizando un banco de datos de 141 niños y adolescentes con enfermedades crónicas internados en hospital público federal. Para elaborar el modelo fueron consideradas 18 variables, la frecuencia de internación fue definida como desenlace. Resultados: Se obtuvo un árbol de decisiones capaz de clasificar correctamente al 80,85% de los participantes. La lectura del modelo permitió entender que las situaciones de mayor vulnerabilidad, como desempleo, bajos ingresos, restricciones y ausencia de compromiso familiar para el cuidado, actuaron como predictoras de mayor frecuencia de internación hospitalaria. Conclusiones: El modelo sugiere a la enfermería y equipo acciones preventivas para aquellos factores modificables, e inversión en promoción de salud para los factores no modificables; fortaleciendo también el debate sobre el cuidado diferenciado para esta población. Métodos: Foi construído um modelo baseado em árvore de decisão, a partir do banco de dados de 141 crianças e adolescentes, com doença crônica, internados em um hospital público federal. Para construção do modelo, foram incluídas 18 variáveis e a frequência de internação foi definida como desfecho. Resultados: Obteve-se uma árvore de decisão capaz de classificar corretamente 80,85% dos participantes. A leitura do modelo proporcionou o entendimento de que as situações de maior vulnerabilidade, como desemprego, baixa renda, restrições e ausência de envolvimento da família no cuidado, foram preditoras da maior frequência de internação hospitalar. Conclusões: O modelo sugere à enfermagem e equipe ações de prevenção para os fatores modificáveis e investimentos em promoção à saúde para os fatores não modificáveis e fortalece o debate sobre o cuidado diferenciado para esse público.

Objetivos: estimar as taxas de incidência e mortalidade por Vírus da Imunodeficiência Humana/Síndrome da Imunodeficiência Adquirida (HIV/AIDS) nas diferentes unidades da federação do Brasil e avaliar a relação dessas com alguns indicadores sociais e econômicos da população. Material e Métodos: trata-se de um estudo ecológico, onde as informações utilizadas são originadas de dados coletados em fontes oficiais e na vigilância epidemiológica. A ferramenta de análise escolhida foi a regressão linear múltipla com auxílio da estatística de Durbin-Watson na seleção das variáveis independentes do modelo. Foram avaliados os dados das taxas de incidência e mortalidade por HIV/AIDS em todos os Estados do Brasil. Dentre os indicadores sociais e econômicos selecionados destacam-se:o IDHM, Índice de Gini, renda per capita e taxa de analfabetismo. Resultados: o Estado que apresentou maior taxa de mortalidade por HIV/AIDS foi o Rio Grande do Sul. Os Estados da Região Nordeste, com exceção de Pernambuco, apresentaram baixa taxa de mortalidade por HIV/AIDS. O modelo de regressão linear múltiplarevelou que entre as variáveis sociais e econômicas selecionadas, apenas a população a partir de 18 anos está exposta a morbidade e a mortalidade por HIV/AIDS. Conclusão: as taxas de morbidade e a mortalidade por HIV/AIDAS nos diferentes Estados do Brasil ainda são altas. As políticas públicas implementadas para combater a doença têm conseguido diminuir a mortalidade, mas não impedem o surgimento de novos casos. As variáveis sociais e econômicas não explicam a morbidade e mortalidade por HIV/AIDS, porém, acredita-se que esses fatores podem influenciar na qualidade de vida dos portadores de HIV/AIDS. Objective: to identify associations between sociodemographic aspects and risk factors for sexually transmitted infections in people with visual impairment. Methods: a cross-sectional study using an interview with 58 people with severe visual impairment or blindness. The prevalence ratio and Chi-Square and Fisher’s tests were calculated. Results: it was verified the association of risk factors for sexually transmitted infections with the sociodemographic conditions of the participants. Sexual practice was significantly associated with age (p=0.022); the beginning of sexual practice associated with sex (p=0.009); the number of partners at sex (p=0.048) and marital status (p=0.048); the use of condoms during sexual intercourse also to sex (p=0.013) and to marital status (p=0.003). Conclusion: sociodemographic characteristics may interfere with the risk factors for sexually transmitted infections in people with visual impairment. Objetivo: identificar associações entre os aspectos sociodemográficos e os fatores de risco para infecções sexualmente transmissíveis em pessoas com deficiência visual. Métodos: estudo transversal utilizando-se entrevista com 58 pessoas com deficiência visual grave ou cegueira. Calculou-se a razão de prevalência e testes de Qui-Quadrado e Fisher. Resultados: Constatou-se associação de fatores de risco para infecções sexualmente transmissíveis com as condições sociodemográficas dos participantes. A prática sexual mostrou-se significativamente associada à idade (p=0,022); o início da prática sexual associada ao sexo (p=0,009); o número de parceiros ao sexo (p=0,048) e ao estado civil (p=0,048); o uso de preservativo durante as relações sexuais também ao sexo (p=0,013) e ao estado civil (p=0,003). Conclusão: as características sociodemográficos podem interferir nos fatores de risco para infecções sexualmente transmissíveis em pessoas com deficiência visual.&nbsp

Objective: Describe the characteristics of the evolution of nurses in the medical records of patients admitted to a school hospital in the city of João Pessoa, PB, Brazil. Methods: This is a descriptive, exploratory and documental, embodied in a quantitative approach. The source of study data were the records of patients of the Pediatric Clinic of Infectious and Parasitic Diseases (IPD), who were in the Statistical and Medical Archive Service (SMAS), in a time frame from April to October 2015. The analysis the data was performed, from the descriptive statistics, using a statistical software. Results: Through the data collected, two characteristics were observed in the records: the general aspects and the focus of care. In general aspects, the developments were characterized as being absent from erasures, use of correctives, grammatical errors, non-standard abbreviations and generic terms. They proved to be legible and clear, using scientific terminology, the date and time stamp. However, it was found that there are many blanks. As the focus of care, the records contemplated the general condition, level of consciousness, respiratory pattern and eliminations. Conclusions: Based on the foregoing, the concreteness of this study shows us that nurses need to be aware in order to provide a more qualified registration and, above all, standardized, ensuring continuity of care and promoting the evaluation of the implemented care.

This is a systematic review that sought to identify the prevalence and factors associated with Burnout Syndrome in university teachers. The collection of the studies was done through descriptors in databases, which resulted in the selection of 8 articles. The prevalence for burnout had a small variation, but presented worrying values. The most frequent associated factors were: work overload, accumulation of activities beyond teaching, high employment ties, devaluation of the work performed and low remuneration. Burnout is still little recognized and studied in the category of university teachers, and it is difficult to identify an exact prevalence for this category. However, the associated factors are well defined and should be considered as a starting point for the prevention of the syndrome.

Objective: to investigate the use of information and communication technologies in good obstetrical practices. Results and Discussion: the studies found have dealt with the use of different information technologies, demonstrating that they are essential to good obstetrical practices because they provide security and greater access to information, as well as provide a more efficient diagnosis and consequently an adequate treatment. Conclusion: It is essential to use the technologies to achieve good obstetric practices throughout the health team. However, it is still necessary to carry out studies, as well as the creation of software that gives greater security to the welfare practices. Objectives: to examine the modalities of scientific production on legal and ethical aspects of assisted reproduction between 2006-2011; to identify the areas and training of researchers involved; to investigate the points of view includedin the studies. The source were articles included in the Virtual Health Library. The universe was 884 publications, 8 of which were part of the sample. The empirical analysis demonstrated that the majority were original publications. Regardingknowledge area, 12,80% belonged to medicine and 2,25 % to Law. Two categories were identified: medical and juridical understanding and bioethics. The study revealed an amount of non scientific literature on bioethical aspects of assisted reproduction. Some studies were identified presenting innovative proposals on valorization of the right to life y the safeguard of fundamental human rights.

Objective: Report experience of male person on a Doulas training course, whose historical dominance is female people and the training scenario is unique to this genre. Methods: Qualitative and descriptive study, reporting the experience in a Training Course for Doulas held in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazil, in June 2015. The results characterize the course, followed by the experienced living. The analysis was funded by the literature on the subject. Results: The experience showed that the process of working as doula must be delimited by an understanding beyond sexism and from exploitation for it. Conclusion: It is noteworthy that care as an archetype should not be associated with the gender division of activities in the ideological process of the rite of passage transcribed in a training course, neither in the care of women.

Objective: to understand the use of information and communica tion technology (ICt) as a pedagogical resource for teaching-learning process in nursing through the discourses of professors, and to identify the types of technology used as a tool to strengthen the teachinglearning process. Method: exploratory descriptive and qualitative study, guided by Grounded theory; the sample consisted of twelve professors of nur sing; data collection was conducted between February and May 2013, through the interview technique; the analysis was developed simulta neously with the collection, allowing the formation of categories and subcategories. Results: the nursing faculty expressed the knowledge dimension of ICt experienced in practice, recognizing it as an aid in the theoreticalpractical activities. Conclusion: this technology should be further stu died and explored in healthcare and, more specifically, in the training of nurses.

Objective: to analyze the scientific literature about the socioeconomic profile of children and adolescents with chronic disease. Method: This is an integrative literature review held from October 2015 to April 2016, through the virtual libraries LILACS, PUBMED and SciELO considering published studies in Spanish, English, French or Portuguese languages, using the following keywords: children; adolescent; chronic disease; chronic illness, factors socioeconomics. Results: were selected and analyzed 18 articles that meet the inclusion criteria of this study. It was noted that the scientific publications describe the demographic profile and social and economic variables of children and adolescents with chronic diseases, in a secondary manner, based on a specific chronic disease. Conclusion: its relevant and necessary consider to describe in detail the socioeconomic profile of children and adolescents with chronic diseases so that other elements such as risk and social vulnerability can be included in the integral care process to this clientele.

Objective : To identify the scientific literature on the use of health information systems, their weaknesses and potential for decision-making. Method : Study systematic literature review conducted in September / October 2014. The sample consisted of 13 articles published in the databases: LILLACS, SciELO, PubMed, Cochrane. Results : there was a small number of publications on the subject; it was pointed out as weaknesses for use of the systems: unpreparedness of the professionals, lack of training, poor access to systems; and how potential: characterization of the population profile, epidemiological, people's living conditions, etc. Conclusion : the health information systems provide great potential for decision-making and must overcome difficulties to use, being necessary to carry out more studies on the subject.

Objective : To characterize the sociodemographic conditions of nursing teachers, evaluate the SB, check the perception of quality of life and analyze the quality of life of these according to the physical, psychological, social relationships and environment. Method : This is a study of exploratory, descriptive and quantitative approach, conducted with 35 teachers of nursing course. For this we used the SBI and the WHOQOL-BREF. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results : 4 were identified (11.43%) teachers with high level, 9 (25.71%) with an average level of 15 (42.86%) with low and 6 (17.14%) with very low symptoms for Burnout. On the issue of quality of life, the perception of quality of life and satisfaction with health obtained regular classification. Conclusion : It is necessary to strengthen the measures that can prevent the SB and study strategies to face this problem in academia.

Introduction: prenatal care comprises a set of care aimed at preserving the health of pregnant women and the fetus, intervening at an early stage in risk situations. The SISPRENATAL was created to oversee the actions scheduled for PHPN and facilitate the transfer of funds. However, the high rates of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality are still a challenge to public health. Objective: To investigate, in national literature, the use of SISPRENATAL in assessing the health care of pregnant women in the Family Health Strategy. Method: integrative systematic, which seeks to answer > The search was conducted in the databases SciELO, LILACS and BDENF, using the descriptors: women's health, information systems, prenatal care and the key word SISPRENATAL. For the analysis of the articles sought to the units of meaning that make up the corpus of 10 selected articles. Results: highlight was the publication of a small number of studies, however, consider all the SISPRENATAL an important health information tool. Conclusion: SISPRENATAL has many weaknesses in their use, which must be overcome to ensure improvements in the quality of maternal and perinatal care.

Estudo exploratório descritivo, qualitativo, realizado em Instituições de Ensino Superior que ministram Curso de Enfermagem em João Pessoa-PB. Objetivou-se compreender a concepção dos gestores sobre a necessidade de mudança organizacional para se adequar à clientela com necessidades especiais. Realizou-se entrevista semiestruturada com gestores das IES e, para interpretação dos dados coletados, utilizou-se o método da análise de discurso, na vertente de Fiorin. Quatro gestores participaram do estudo. Identificou-se preocupação em atender as demandas das políticas de inclusão, inclusive na adequação de espaços físicos e na pedagogia adotada para atender os estudantes. Alguns gestores assumiram pouco preparo pessoal no atendimento à clientela com necessidades especiais, e que as instituições que representavam não dispunham de trabalho logístico eficiente e compatível com as propostas de inclusão preconizadas pela legislação vigente. Conclui-se que o processo de mudanças estruturais e pedagógicas se constrói de maneira lenta e gradual, requerendo atuação de gestores qualificados e comprometidos em executar, civil e legalmente, políticas de inclusão direcionadas a essa clientela.

The present article has for objective to trace some theoretical and conceptual consideration on system of information in nursing, being searched to point out the knowledge base on the evidences of the practical clinic to construct to a model of integrated system the conceptual structures, formed for the combination of three sciences: information, computation and nursing. This knowledge can describe and explain systematically the phenomena necessary to develop a comprehensive system of information that contribute for improvement of the nursing registers and consolidate the mechanism to provide measured basic with costs, quality, access to the care of the patient and result of this care. Therefore, it is ended that the system of information in enfermagem should be structured starting from the integration among the tacit and explicit knowledge

The term leadership has been studied since the century XIX. Nowadays, independent its nature, leadership is being demanded by every company and hospital companies either. The exploratory research with qualitative approach that is proceeded had the objective to know the leadership meaning attributed by the male nurses. Eight male nurses that acted in the nursing leadership of a public hospital of Paraíba state constituted the population. The technique used to data collection it was the semi-structured interview composed of nine questions. Data discussion was the analysis of the questions content. Starting from the obtained answers we verified that the male nurses are wanting in their qualification at the masters degree level. They also have fears of risks that can commit your leadership position. We ended that nurses need an inform orientation that recognizes your capacity to fulfill your objectives and to get them a better quality attendance to the patients.

Aim : To compare the International Nursing Minimum Data Set in a group of data sets used in nursing record forms in the area of maternal health. Method : This is a descriptive and correlational study, based on data present in nursing record forms used in public maternity units in the municipality of Joao Pessoa, Brazil. The data was organized, categorized and analyzed according to the International Nursing Minimum Data Set. Results : In the category regarding the nursing environment, from the six items present, five were considered. In the second category, all items were considered. The majority of the forms dealt with the elements of nursing care. Conclusion : the results can alert other investigators to the need to define a set of elements that must be documented in situations of nursing care, as a means of highlighting the contribution of nursing staff to assistance with regard to maternal health.

O estudo objetivou compreender, a partir da perspectiva dos enfermeiros, a experiência de vivenciar a Sistematização da Assistência de Enfermagem (SAE) em um serviço de obstetrícia. Utilizou-se a teoria fundamentada nos dados, como referencial teórico e metodológico. Os sujeitos participantes desse estudo foram constituídos por treze enfermeiros de uma maternidade pública da cidade de João Pessoa, Paraíba. A análise dos dados resultou no fenômeno: "percebendo a SAE como um método de trabalho que organiza, direciona e melhora a qualidade da assistência, trazendo visibilidade e proporcionando segurança para a equipe de enfermagem". Os enfermeiros expressaram a dimensão do conhecimento sobre a SAE vivenciada na prática obstétrica, bem como consideraram o processo de enfermagem como um processo decisório, que norteia o raciocínio do enfermeiro no planejamento da assistência de enfermagem na obstetrícia. Conclui-se que os enfermeiros percebem a SAE como um instrumento de articulação teórico-prática que conduz para uma assistência personalizada. El estudio tiene como objetivo la comprensión, desde la perspectiva de las enfermeras, la experiencia de ir a través de la Sistematización de la Asistencia de Enfermería (SAE) en un servicio de obstetricia. Utilizamos la teoría fundamentada como lo teórico y metodológico. Los sujetos de este estudio son trece enfermeras de un hospital público en la ciudad de João Pessoa, Paraíba. El análisis de los datos dio como resultado el fenómeno: "NCS percibir como un método de trabajo que organiza, dirige y mejora la calidad de la atención por dar visibilidad y proporcionar seguridad para el personal de enfermería." Las enfermeras expresaron el grado de conocimiento acerca de la SAE experimentado en obstetricia, así, consideró que el proceso de enfermería como un proceso de toma de decisiones, que guía el razonamiento de las enfermeras en la planificación de los cuidados de enfermería en obstetricia. Se concluye que las enfermeras perciben el SAE como instrumento de articulación teórico-práctico que conduce a la asistencia personalizada. This study was aimed at understanding, from the nurses' perspective, the experience of going through the Systematization of Nursing Care (SNC) in an obstetric service unit. We used grounded theory as the theoretical and methodological framework. The subjects of this study consisted of thirteen nurses from a public hospital in the city of João Pessoa, in the state of Paraíba. The data analysis resulted in the following phenomenon: "perceiving SNC as a working method that organizes, directs and improves the quality of care by bringing visibility and providing security for the nursing staff." The nurses expressed the extent of knowledge about the SNC experienced in obstetrics as wellas considered the nursing process as a decision-making process, which guides the reasoning of nurses in the planning of nursing care in obstetrics. It was concluded that nurses perceive the SNC as an instrument of theoretical-practical articulation leading to personalized assistance.

Este estudo objetivou identificar, a partir da revisão integrativa da literatura, a produção científica on-line nacional e internacional sobre o tema Ética na Enfermagem. Foram analisados 53 artigos científicos publicados no período de 2001 a 2010. A busca dos artigos foi empreendida nos bancos de dados da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde e no portal de periódicos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior. A pesquisa revelou que 69,8% dos artigos publicados é produção nacional sobre o tema, indicando boas perspectivas para as reflexões éticas no campo assistencial da saúde e na formação acadêmica dos profissionais de Enfermagem. Entretanto, a produção ainda é incipiente em relação a esta temática, sendo necessário o desenvolvimento de estudos e pesquisas para maior aprofundamento neste campo. A incorporação de aspectos éticos e legais na vivência profissional do enfermeiro é imprescindível para uma assistência de Enfermagem integral e de qualidade.

O presente estudo teve como objetivo desenvolver um sistema de informação em enfermagem com aplicação na assistência de enfermagem e no gerenciamento do serviço. O SisEnf - Sistema de Informação em Enfermagem - é um software livre composto pelo módulo assistencial de enfermagem: histórico, exame clínico e plano de cuidados; o módulo gerencial compõe-se de: escala de serviço, gestão de pessoal, indicadores hospitalares e outros elementos. O sistema foi implementado na Clínica Médica do Hospital Universitário Lauro Wanderley, da Universidade Federal da Paraíba. Tendo em vista a necessidade de aproximação entre usuário e desenvolvedor, e a constante mudança de requisitos funcionais durante o processo iterativo, foi adotado o método do processo unificado. O SisEnf foi desenvolvido sobre plataforma WEB e com emprego de software livre. Portanto, o trabalho desenvolvido procurou auxiliar o processo de trabalho da enfermagem que agora terá oportunidade de incorporar a tecnologia da informação na sua rotina de trabalho. This study aimed at developing an information system in nursing with the implementation of nursing care and management of the service. The SisEnf - Information System in Nursing - is a free software module that comprises the care of nursing: history, clinical examination and care plan; the management module consists of: service shifts, personnel management, hospital indicators and other elements. The system was implemented at the Medical Clinic of the Lauro Wanderley University Hospital, at Universidade Federal da Paraiba. In view of the need to bring user and developer closer, in addition to the constant change of functional requirements during the interactive process, the method of unified process was used. The SisEnf was developed on a WEB platform and using free software. Hence, the work developed aimed at assisting in the working process of nursing, which will now have the opportunity to incorporate information technology in their work routine. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo desarrollar un sistema de información de enfermería con aplicación en la atención y en el gerenciamiento del servicio. El SisEnf -Sistema de Información en Enfermería- es un software libre compuesto por: a) el módulo asistencial de enfermería: historias clínicas, exámenes clínicos y plan de atención; y b) el módulo de gerenciamiento, que se compone de: escala de servicio, gestión de personal, indicadores hospitalarios y otros elementos. El sistema se puso en práctica en Clínica Médica en el Hospital Universitario Lauro Wanderley de la Universidad Federal de Paraíba. En vista de la necesidad de aproximación entre usuarios y desarrolladores y del cambio constante de las necesidades funcionales durante el proceso iterativo, fue adoptado el método de proceso unificado. El SisEnf fue desarrollado sobre una plataforma WEB con empleo de software libre. En conclusión, el trabajo desarrollado procura brindar auxilio en el proceso de trabajo de enfermería, que ahora tendrá la oportunidad de incorporar a la tecnología de la información en su rutina de trabajo.

Este estudo investiga o nível de utilização do conservadorismo e da oportunidade (timeliness) da informação contábil nas demonstrações contábeis de empresas brasileiras com ADRs negociados na Bolsa de Nova Iorque. Essas empresas apresentam suas demonstrações contábeis tanto conforme o modelo contábil brasileiro quanto segundo o norte-americano, atendendo às exigências da Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Os dados foram coletados compreendendo o período de 1999 a 2004 e aplicou-se o modelo de Basu (BASU, 1997) para a avaliação da oportunidade e do conservadorismo da informação contábil. Os resultados encontrados indicam que (1) não há diferenças no nível de utilização do conservadorismo e (2) o lucro contábil segundo o modelo brasileiro seria mais oportuno do que o norte-americano. Assim, as evidências contribuem para o atual debate sobre a inserção do Brasil no atual estágio de convergência de demonstrações contábeis. This study investigates the timeliness and the degree of conservatism in fi nancial statements disclosed by Brazilian companies with ADRs traded on the New York Stock Exchange. According to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), those companies must disclose accounting information according to the Brazilian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (BR GAAP) as well as the United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP). The data were collected between 1999 and 2004 and the Basu Model (BASU, 1997) was applied to evaluate earnings timeliness and conservatism. The results are: (1) there is no difference in earnings conservatism and (2) earnings according to the BR GAAP are more timely than those according to the US GAAP. The evidence contributes to the current debate about the role of Brazil in the current stage of the convergence process.

Objective : to assess the knowledge of physicians, physiotherapists, and nurses on the methods of pain relief carried out in the delivery assistance and to describe which methods are performed by these professionals. Method : this is a descriptive field research, with a quantitative approach, carried out in a maternity in the city of Joao Pessoa, Paraiba, Brazil, with a sample of twenty professionals, in which a questionnaire with objective questions was used. The research was approved by the Committee of Ethics in Research of Faculdade Santa Emilia de Rodat/Faser, under the Opinion 02/2009 and Protocol 010/09 . R esults : 90% of the professionals are female individuals, 45% are 25 to 35 years old. All subjects stated they use massage, as well as breathing and relaxation techniques, consider the non-pharmacological methods more beneficial to women, and think this is a practice of humanization, encouragement, and strength. Conclusion : the methods of pain relief influence the factors related to the pain/tension/anxiety, decreasing mother’s pain and promoting a greater control and safety for women to face this expected moment. RESUMO Objetivo : avaliar o conhecimento de medicos, fisioterapeutas e enfermeiros sobre os metodos de alivio da dor realizados n a assistencia ao parto e descrever quais os metodos sao praticados por esses profissionais. Metodo : trata-se de uma pesquisa descritiva de campo com abordagem quantitativa, realizada em uma maternidade da cidade de Joao Pessoa/PB, com uma amostra de vinte profissionais, na qual foi utilizado um questionario com perguntas objetivas. A pesquisa foi aprovad a pelo Comite de Etica em Pesquisa da Faculdade Santa Emilia de Rodat / Faser, com o Parecer n. 02/2009 e Protocolo n. 010/09 . R esultados : 90% dos profissionais e do sexo feminino, 45% na faixa etaria de 25 a 35 anos . T odos os sujeitos afirmaram utilizar a massagem, as tecnicas de respiracao e relaxamento , consideram que os metodos nao farmacologicos sao mais beneficos para as mulheres e que essa e uma pratica de humanizacao, encorajamento e vigor. Conclusao : os metodos de alivio d a dor influenciam na diminuicao de fatores relacionados ao medo/tensao/ansiedade, reduzindo a dor materna e promovendo uma maior tranquilidade e seguranca para o enfrentamento desse momento tao esperado pelas mulheres. Portanto , esta pratica necessita ser trabalhada de forma continua na assistencia pre-natal e durante o parto . Metodo : esta es una investigacion descriptiva de campo, con abordaje cuantitativa, realizada en una maternidad en la ciudad de Joao Pessoa, Paraiba, Brasil, con una muestra de veinte profesionales, en la que fue utilizado un cuestionario con preguntas objetivas. La investigacion fue aprobada por el Comite de Etica en Investigacion de la Faculdade Santa Emilia de Rodat/Faser, con la Opinion 02/2009 y el Protocolo 010/09 . R esultados : 90% de los profissionales son del sexo femenino, 45% tienen de 25 a 35 anos. Todos los sujetos afirmaron utilizar la masaje, las tecnicas de respiracion y relaxamento, consideron que los metodos no farmacologicos son mas beneficos para las mulheres y piensan que esa es una practica de humanizacion, encorajamiento y vigor. Conclusion : los metodos de alivio del dolor influencian la diminucion de factores relacionados al miedo/tension/ansiedad, reduciendo el dolor materno y promoviendo una mayor tranquilidad y seguridad para el enfrentamiento de ese momento tan esperado por las mujeres. Por lo tanto, esa practica necesita ser trabajada de forma continua en la asistencia prenatal y durante el parto. Objective To evaluate the quality of life and associated factors in caregivers of children and adolescents with chronic conditions. Method Cross-sectional study, developed with data from the Children Information System of Adolescents with Chronic Diseases. The sample consisted of 143 caregivers. Data collection took place between August and October 2018. For data analysis, chi-square statistics and Binary Logistic Regression were used. Results Through the study it was possible to identify that the variables that had impact on the low quality of life of the caregiver were: greater number of children with chronic conditions, routine use of medication, and financial limitations, which were considered risk factors. In turn, owning a home and having emotional support were protective factors. Conclusion It was observed that the caregivers had low quality of life, and knowledge of the factors that contribute to this may enable an outstanding care to the caregiver. RESUMEN Objetivo Evaluar la calidad de vida y los factores asociados de los cuidadores de niños y adolescentes con afecciones crónicas. Método Estudio transversal, desarrollado con datos del Sistema de Información Infantil de Adolescentes con Enfermedades Crónicas. La muestra consistió en 143 cuidadores. La recolección de datos tuvo lugar entre agosto y octubre de 2018. Para el análisis de datos, se utilizó estadísticas de chi-cuadrado y regresión logística binaria. Resultados El estudio posibilitó identificar que las variables que tuvieron un impacto en la baja calidad de vida del cuidador fueron: mayor número de niños con afecciones crónicas, uso rutinario de medicamentos y limitaciones financieras, que se consideró como factores de riesgo. A su vez, ser propietario de una casa y tener apoyo emocional eran factores protectores. Conclusión Se observó que los cuidadores tenían baja calidad de vida y el conocimiento de los factores que contribuyen a esto puede permitir una atención especial para el cuidador. RESUMO Objetivo Avaliar a qualidade de vida e fatores associados de cuidadores de crianças e adolescentes com condições crônicas. Método Estudo transversal, desenvolvido com dados do Sistema de Informação de Crianças de Adolescentes com Doenças Crônicas. A amostra foi composta por 143 cuidadores. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre agosto e outubro de 2018. Para análise dos dados utilizou-se a estatística qui-quadrado e a Regressão Logística Binária. Resultados Com o estudo foi possível identificar que as variáveis que possuíam impacto sobre a baixa qualidade de vida do cuidador foram: maior número de filhos com condições crônicas, uso rotineiro de medicamentos e limitação financeira, as quais foram consideradas fatores de risco. Por sua vez, possuir casa própria e ter apoio emocional consistiram em fatores de proteção. Conclusão Observou-se que os cuidadores possuíam qualidade de vida baixa e o conhecimento dos fatores que contribuem para isso poderá possibilitar um cuidado diferenciado ao cuidador.
