In myocarditis patients, persisting inflammation is associated with arrhythmias and unfavorable remodeling ([1][1]). Novel therapeutic strategies may counteract chronic myocardial inflammation, but their use is strictly dependent on the ability to detect and monitor myocardial inflammation.
