The performance of dielectric resonators fabricated from single crystalline LaAlO3 and shielded by YBa2Cu3O7 epitaxial films is evaluated at various frequencies and temperatures. The resonators' quality factors and power dissipation are measured together with the phase noise using a spectrum analyzer. Results show that the dielectric resonators perform better than high temperature superconductive planar resonators and non-superconducting resonators.

A 4-bit instantaneous frequency meter (IFM) with a frequency range of 9.5-10.5 GHz is integrated with coplanar YBCO delay lines on a LaAlO3 wafer to create a compact, light size microwave receiver. The integration of the IFM and the delay lines on a single substrate minimizes the circuit's insertion loss and allows greater flexibility in the circuit design. The receiver has a maximum delay of 4.0 nanoseconds.

The performance of several magnetic field sensors equipped with digital superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) feedback read-out was evaluated. The interferometers, which were designed with different configurations, were taken in a magnetically shielded room for the experimental measurements. Results indicate that the digital read-out SQUID devices are less sensitive to the effects of resonance than a conventional direct current SQUID.
