Abstract

An encapsulation structure of high-power white LED lighting lamps is designed.The temperature field distributions of steady-state operation are analyzed by using calculation and analysis of ANSYS finite element.The temperature of test point on device is 76.0℃,and the temperature of radiator shell is 71.0℃ which are obtained by the temperature testing experiment.Based on the concordance between simulation result and experiment value,a new cooling encapsulating structure is revealed.An effective basis is provided for optimization scheme of high power LED heat dissipation through considering the temperature field distributions of components of lamps and heat transfer theory.

Abstract

We study the structural and infrared-to-visible upconversion fluorescence properties of Er3+/Yb3+-codoped lead-free germanium-bismuth glass. The structure of lead-free germanium–bismuth–lanthanum glass is investigated by peak-deconvolution of Raman spectroscopy. Intense green and red emissions centred at 525, 546, and 657 nm, corresponding to the transitions 2H11/2→4I15/2, 4S3/2→4I15/2, and 4F9/2→4I15/2, respectively, are observed at room temperature. The quadratic dependence of the 525, 546, and 657 nm emissions on excitation power indicates that a two-photon absorption process occurs under 975 nm excitation.

Abstract

Frequency upconversion fluorescence property of Er3+-doped oxychloride germanate glass is investigated. Intense green and red emissions centred at 525, 546, and 657 nm, corresponding to the transitions 2H11/2→4I15/2, 4S3/2→4I15/2, and 4F9/2→4I15/2, respectively, were simultaneously observed at room temperature. The quadratic dependence of the 525, 546, and 657 nm emissions on excitation power indicates that a two-photon absorption process occurs under 975 nm laser diode (LD) excitation. The Raman spectrum investigation indicates that oxychloride germanate glass has the maximum phonon energy at ~805 cm−1. The thermal stability of this oxychloride germanate glass is evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry, and thermal stability factor ΔT (ΔT = Tx−Tg) is 187 degrees C. Intense upconversion luminescence and good thermal stability indicate that Er3+-doped oxychloride germanate glass is a promising upconversion laser material.

Abstract

Er3+-doped strontium–lead–bismuth glasses for developing potential upconversion lasers have been fabricated and characterized. Under 975 nm excitation, intense green and red emissions centred at 525, 546, and 657 nm, corresponding to the transitions 2H11/2→4I15/2, 4S3/2→4I15/2, and 4F9/2→4I15/2, respectively, were observed at room temperature. The upconversion mechanisms are discussed based on the energy matching and quadratic dependence on excitation power, and the dominant mechanisms are excited state absorption and energy transfer upconversion for 525 and 546 nm emissions, and energy transfer upconversion for 657 nm emission.

Abstract

Serials of chalcogenide glasses based on composition of 72GeS(2)-18Ga(2)S(3)-10CsI (in mol%) and doped with high Tm3+ content (up to 10,000 ppm) were prepared, and their luminescence properties were investigated under excitation with 800 nm laser. The influences of doping concentration on Judd-Ofelt intensity parameter Omega(i) spontaneous transition probability A, fluorescence branching ratio beta, and radiative lifetime tau(rad) of Tm3+ in the samples were studied. Four infrared emission bands observed were centered at 1.48, 1.8, 2.3, and 3.8 mu m, corresponding to optical transitions H-3(4) -> F-3(4), F-3(4) -> H-3(6), H-3(4) -> H-3(5) and H-3(5) -> F-3(4), respectively. For 1.0 wt.% Tm3+: doped sample, no concentration quenching was observed and its emission cross-sections at 2.3 and 3.8 mu m calculated by using Fuchtbauer-Ladenburg equation were 6.85 x 10(-21) and 7.66 x 10(-21) cm(-2), respectively. Abstract

The tapping temperature and the cooling rate are the key parameters during the development process of chalcogenide glass. Based on the theory of heat conduction equation, a model for calculating the temperature distribution of cylindrical chalcogenide glass is established using the least square fitting method in this paper. The tapping temperature, the temperature distribution and the cooling rate are simulated by using the model. The simulation results are compared with experimental data. The results show that the glass temperature stays in a non-steady non-uniform distribution, the surface cooling is the fastest, and the temperature decreases exponentially with time when the glass is tapped off from the furnace; the temperature of glass rod from the center to the edge is approximately of parabola distribution; the crystallization is the most difficult when the glass is tapped off at 50100 ℃ higher than crystallization temperature and a surface heat exchange coefficient of 180 W m-2K-1. Under the guidance of the theoretical model the uniform and transparent chalcogenide glass with a diameter of 110 mm and height of 80 mm is obtained. The glass transmission spectrum range is 0.817 m. The 2 mm thick flat sheet has the average transmittance higher than 65% in a 812 m range.
