Introduction: Leg length is an important consideration in total hip arthroplasty (THA) as leg length discrepancies (LLD) after THA cause poor outcomes and medical litigation. This study aimed to investigate the accuracy of computed tomography (CT)-based navigation with augmented reality (AR) technology for measuring intra-operative leg length change using anteroposterior radiography (two-dimensional, 2D) and CT (three-dimensional, 3D)., Materials and Methods: This study included 71 patients (75 hips) who underwent primary cementless THA in the supine position between June 2022 and November 2023 using the HoloNavi One. To assess the accuracy of the HoloNavi One based on 2D and 3D measurements, the absolute error between the intra-operative leg length change and the 2D and 3D measurements was evaluated, and the correlations were investigated. Additionally, factors affecting the absolute error were examined using multivariate analysis., Results: The mean intra-operative leg length change when using the HoloNavi One was 6.5 ± 5.0 mm, while the mean leg length change on the 2D and 3D measurements were 5.9 ± 4.8 mm and 4.6 ± 5.7 mm, respectively. The mean absolute errors were 2.3 ± 2.7 mm between the HoloNavi One and 2D measurements, and 3.8 ± 3.3 mm between HoloNavi One and 3D measurements. The absolute errors in leg length changes for the 3D measurements were greater than those for the 2D measurements (p < 0.01). Positive correlations of leg length changes were found between the HoloNavi One and the 2D and 3D measurements. In the multiple regression analysis, no significant factors affecting the absolute error were identified in either the 2D or 3D measurements., Conclusions: CT-based navigation with AR technology in the supine position provided acceptable accuracy for leg length change measurements., Competing Interests: Declarations. In contemporary medical practice, perioperative visual guidance technology has become a critical element in enhancing the precision and safety of surgical procedures. This study provides a comprehensive review of the advancements in the application of Augmented Reality (AR) technology for perioperative visual guidance. This review begins with a retrospective look at the evolution of AR technology, including its initial applications in neurosurgery. It then delves into the technical challenges that AR faces in areas such as image processing, 3D reconstruction, spatial localization, and registration, underscoring the importance of improving the accuracy of AR systems and ensuring their stability and consistency in clinical use. Finally, the review looks forward to how AR technology could be further facilitated in medical applications with the integration of cutting-edge technologies like skin electronic devices and how the incorporation of machine learning could significantly enhance the accuracy of AR visual systems. As technology continues to advance, there is ample reason to believe that AR will be seamlessly integrated into medical practice, ushering the healthcare field into a new "Golden Age".

In recent years, augmented reality (AR) applications, which have emerged as an indispensable technological element in many fields, have also begun to be used as an important learning tool in museum environments. It is seen that AR applications, which enable permanent learning especially by using technology, have positive effects on students. In this context, the aim of this research is to determine the educational needs of students regarding the use of augmented reality applications in museums. The research was conducted using the screening model from quantitative method designs. The study group consists of university students (n=99). In the spring semester of 2023-2024, students taking the museum education applications course and the Digital Literacies and Ethics course were determined from purposeful samples using the criterion sampling method. The quantitative data of the study were obtained with a 5-point Likert-type educational needs survey. Quantitative data were interpreted according to the mean score (MEAN) values in the distribution of the survey items. According to the research findings, students need training for the use of Smartify, Museum Alive, Layar, Wonderscope, ARLOOPA, ARKit, Vuforia Engine, ARCore applications. Augmented Reality (AR) is an emerging topic for managers across different disciplines While augmented reality technology literature is growing, there is no comprehensive analysis of augmented reality technology in marketing transformation The research aims to bridge the knowledge gap by providing a multifaceted bibliographic overview of augmented reality technology literature in marketing and reveal its trends, areas of focus and intellectual foundations. The study is based on 496 articles published on Web of Science between 1996 and 2023. According to the findings, the concept mainly revolves around seven main areas: human-machine interaction in future of digital marketing and Metaverse, advertising and customer response in online purchases, marketing challenges in industry 4 and new technologies, the effect of virtual technology on customer loyalty in retail, adoption of behavioral technology of Tourism customers, augmented reality technology marketing in the decision-making process of buyers and brands, and finally the richness of social media in e-commerce in Covid 19. While priorities and research topics have evolved over time, key concepts such as buying experience, shopper behavior, buying decision making, technology adoption have been repeated. The three influential schools of augmented reality technology in marketing are associated with integrated theory, planned behavior theory (TPB) and cognitive evaluation theory that have shaped the intellectual foundations of the discipline but we believe that a greater diversity of fields is needed to examine and describe augmented reality technology in marketing transformation. While a number of studies have shown the potential and benefits of augmented reality (AR) technology for preschool education, less attention has been paid to the problem of children's deep learning and development of the competencies applying AR and to the pedagogy of AR. The aim of the study presented in this paper is to uncover the educational predictors of deep learning and competence development of 5–7-year-old children using AR technology. The research adopted a quantitative research approach and a survey design. The participants were 319 preschool teachers using AR technology for children's education. The study revealed that a statistically significant predictor of promoting deep learning in preschool children is teachers' roles, based on a constructivist and socio-cultural approach, when using AR. The research highlights the roles of the teacher as a creator of learning contexts and situations that engage children; the teacher as a proactive facilitator of children's learning; and the teacher as an educator who acts, thinks and reflects with children, among others. Statistically significant educational predictors of children's competence development were found to be: teachers' perceptions of AR technology, the roles assumed by teachers, and the areas of children's education in which AR technology is used. Limited students' critical thinking skills in learning can be strengthened by using augmented reality technology applications. The main objective of this research is to analyze the problem-based learning model with integrated augmented reality educational games in improving students' critical thinking abilities. This quasi-experimental research used a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 60 students from SD Muhammadiyah 09 Surabaya who were selected using purposive sampling. Data was collected by observing the implementation of learning and testing students' critical thinking levels. The data obtained in the research was processed statistically based on research obtained with a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05, confirming that Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted. Thus, the probability value is 0.000 < 0.05, so all coefficients have meaning. Applying the PBL model with integrated augmented reality educational games on critical thinking skills has a significant effect. From the ANOVA test or F-test, Fcount was 45,348 with a significance level of 0.000. This probability is smaller than 0.05, so the learning model to predict the level of participation in learning with a problem-based learning model through educational games integrated with augmented reality influences students' critical thinking skills. Introduction: This study aimed to investigate the accuracy of cup position and assess the changes in pelvic tilt during primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) in the lateral decubitus position using a new computed tomography (CT)-based navigation system with augmented reality (AR) technology. Materials and methods: There were 37 cementless THAs performed using a CT-based navigation system with AR technology in the lateral decubitus position and 63 cementless THAs performed using manual implant techniques in the lateral decubitus position in this retrospective study. Postoperative cup radiographic inclination and anteversion were measured using postoperative CT, and the proportion of hips within Lewinnek's safe zone was analyzed and compared between the two groups. The mean absolute values of navigation error were assessed. Intraoperative pelvic tilt angles were also recorded using navigation system. Results: The percentage of cups inside Lewinnek's safe zone was 100% in the navigation group and 35% in the control group (p < 0.001). The mean absolute values of navigation error in inclination and anteversion were 2.9° ± 2.1° and 3.3° ± 2.4°, respectively. The mean abduction angle of the pelvis was 5.1° ± 4.8° after placing the patients in the lateral decubitus position and 4.1° ± 6.0° after cup placement. The mean posterior tilt angle was 6.8° ± 5.1° after placing the patients in the lateral decubitus position and 9.3° ± 5.9° after cup placement. The mean internal rotation angle was 14.8° ± 7.4° after cup placement. There were no correlations between the navigation error in inclination or anteversion and the absolute values of changes of the pelvic tilt angle at any phase. Conclusions: Although progressive pelvic motion occurred in THA in the lateral decubitus position, especially during cup placement, the CT-based navigation system with AR technology improved cup placement accuracy. This quasi-experimental study aimed at investigating the effect of augmented reality on academic achievement and visual thinking of thirdgraders in science subject at Qweismeh District / Amman. Two reliable and valid tests were used to assess third graders academic achievement and visual thinking in science at Alhasad Altarbawi school during the second semester 20219-2020. A purposeful sample of (57) students was distributed over experimental group (N=28) that learned by using visual reality technique and control group (N=29) which was learned by the ordinary technique. The results revealed that there were statistically significant differences (α = 0.05) in both academic achievement and visual thinking in favor of experimental group students who had learned with augmented reality. The study recommended the importance of investigating the effectiveness of augmented reality on developing critical thinking skills, reflective thinking and scientific thinking, as well as the need for training on how to implement augmented reality in teachinglearning process. Purpose: This study aims to understand customer equity and loyalty using augmented reality (AR) and employee services in a physical retail environment. The current study investigated how customers' experiences with AR-based and employee service affect their satisfaction, equity and loyalty. Design/methodology/approach: A conceptual framework was developed by reviewing AR and employee services literature. The Smart PLS-SEM technique was used to test the responses of 620 Chinese respondents empirically. Findings: The findings provided valuable insights into AR and employee services in a physical retail environment. Customers are more inclined to use AR services in the current business climate. Research limitations/implications: This study's sample was drawn from a single city, with a total of 620 respondents, which may not be a complete representation of China as a whole. As a result, the results may not be generalizable to a single city. Practical implications: Retail brand managers should emphasize implementing innovative technologies in the physical retail environment to retain and attract customers. Pandemic consumers are opting for innovative technologies as part of their shopping experience due to changes in business models. Originality/value: The researchers recognized AR and employee services as innovative domains in physical retail stores because they can increase sales, customer equity and loyalty. Augmented reality technology is a new display technology that integrates virtual digital information with real physical information and has become an important research field in global information technology. Near‐eye display devices are an important part of augmented reality. At present, traditional optical devices are widely used in near‐eye equipment, but the optical performance of the equipment is limited and the volume is large, making it difficult to meet the market's needs for thinness and high performance. With the development of micro‐nano processing technology, metasurfaces composed of artificial sub‐wavelength scale units, which are both ultra‐thin and can regulate arbitrary light fields, will become a new idea for the development of new near‐eye display devices. In this review, we first introduce the basic working principle of metasurface, mainly the principle of light field control of metasurface, analyze the aberration of metasurface imaging, and then evaluate the corresponding image quality. Then, a variety of existing metasurface design schemes are reviewed, including the design of structural elements, the overall architecture distribution, the design method of the system, the algorithm used, and the performance index. Finally, the problems to be solved and the future development direction of the current metasurface‐based near‐eye display system are summarized. Metasurface is easy to integrate and has a high degree of design freedom, which is expected to replace traditional optical components. Augmented reality near‐eye display devices based on metasurface with a large field of view and an ultra‐thin profile will become an important development direction in the future. Educators are expected to be aware of information technology development. However, many teachers have not integrated technology into teaching strategies. This research aims at developing English learning media by using Augmented Reality (AR) technology and analyzed its effectiveness in learning. The researchers employed Microsoft Solution Framework (MSF) tool to develop the media which consisted of requirement definition, and system & software design. The developed media was evaluated through tests to 30 seventh graders of junior high school. Interview and observation were conducted to know users' learning needs. Data was obtained by distributing questionnaires and quantitatively analyzed. The results showed 1) AR-based English media has 12 markers which can be downloaded in the application menu. The application display consisted of pre-elemi nary, marker, information, and theory pages. The chapter theory included 8 chapters; 2) The mean score of enthusiasm by implementing AR-based media is 27.07, but the score of non-implementing AR-based learning media is 22.33. It can be scientifically stated that AR-based media is effective to increase students' enthusiasm in learning English. The AR technology can potentially be utilized to generate English media in productive skills. With the continuous advancement of science and technology, the improvement of mobile terminal hardware performance and the large-scale popularization of smart phones have brought new experiences and methods to surveying and mapping work. This article mainly studies the application of remote sensing image processing technology based on mobile augmented reality technology in surveying and mapping engineering. First, perform grayscale processing on the image in the experiment, then remove the noise in the image and smooth the image through the median filter method and finally use the Canny operator to perform edge detection to obtain a binarized image containing only the target object, and this is done by image feature extraction. After using three-dimensional scanning modeling to extract the image feature points, the target manager is used for sample analysis. Obtain the projection matrix through the interface, and then perform coordinate conversion to complete the positioning of the target scene. In this paper, the BRISK feature point detection algorithm with fast speed and small calculation is used to detect the target, and SVM is used for remote sensing feature classification. Experimental data show that the recognition success rate of the algorithm is 84%. The results show that mobile augmented reality technology and remote sensing image processing technology can improve the efficiency and accuracy of surveying and mapping engineering, and have strong ease of use and stability. This study aimed to create Augmented Reality (AR) materials aimed at understanding the scientific conceptions of electric current, devise teaching methods using the created AR materials, and verify the effectiveness of the teaching methods through class-room practice. To achieve these objectives, this study created AR materials that superimpose electric current models on experimental apparatuses and worksheets using a tablet PC, and devised a teaching method that focuses on clarifying the students’ mis-conceptions. The results showed that the AR materials and teaching methods contributed to the understanding of the directional concept of electric current. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 has changed the education sector landscape especially in the educational innovation. Various technologies have been integrated in variety of educational fields and Augmented Reality Technology is one of them. One of the courses offered in the Construction Technology at Vocational College is Building Construction I and II. This course requires students to understand and master the knowledge regarding the processes of construction at the construction site. Therefore, a learning module based on AR technology has been developed to help the students to visualize construction processes at the construction site. This module integrity and validity based on the experts and students view was carried out to assess the construction module quality and multimedia elements that have been applied in this module. The quantitative study involves vocational college students and experts in the sector of construction technology and multimedia as respondents. Two instruments were used in the data collection such as questionnaires and check lists. The findings of this study indicates that the interactive modules and multimedia elements integrity and validity is at a high level based on the expert views. In conclusion, the interactive module based on Augmented Reality Technology for this Building Construction II course is suitable and the module content has been developed to meet the needs of students and lecturers. The development of this module is expected to improve students' visualization skills and enable them to have good graphic communication skills as well as problem-solving skills. This study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of reading counseling using augmented reality technology to develop female psychology students’ awareness towards relaxation and examine their attitudes towards it at university. To achieve the objectives of the study, the quasi-experiment with a pre-post design for two groups was used. The study sample consisted of (81) female students of the psychology program at the undergraduate level in the College of Education at Najran University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The control group consisted of (37) female students, and the experimental group consisted of (44) female students. To collect the data, two instruments were used, namely: a questionnaire about awareness towards relaxation, and a questionnaire about attitudes towards relaxation after verifying the validity and reliability of the instruments in the Saudi context. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences in the means of the posttest in the awareness of relaxation and attitudes towards it in favor of the experimental group. Little studies have been conducted on the question of the use of augmented reality technology in the education field. The effects of augmented reality technology on the educational environment of tertiary students need to be further explored. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of augmented reality technology in developing students' fashion design skills. The participants were 54 tertiary students. They were randomly divided into two groups, each group involved 27 students. Data collected from a three-aspect questionnaire namely, the functional, aesthetic and creative were analyzed to address the research issues. Findings showed that fashion products of students who were taught via the use of augmented reality technology achieved higher success and acceptance in all aspects (the functional, aesthetic, creative), and the fashion design skills as a whole ones than the products of students who learnt via the traditional teaching method supported by educational videos provided by the learning management system. The purposes for this research were to design and develop an instructional model using augmented reality technology for vocational certificate students, then evaluate the efficiency of the model, and finally evaluate the samples’ satisfaction toward the model. The sample group were thirty third-year students from a vocational college in the northeast region in Thailand, who enrolled in microcontroller foundation course in the second semester of academic year 2019. The sample group were selected by simple random sampling method and then divided into two groups as experiment group and control group, consisted of fifteen students in each group. The research tools comprised of 1) the instructional model with augmented reality technology, and 2) the learning achievement test. The research results found that the instructional model consisted of six steps called ISDEEE; Information, Searching, Discussion, Explanation, Experiment and Evolution. The efficiency of the model was 84.22/83.86, which was higher than the expected standard 80/80. The learning achievements of the students in the experiment group after using the model were significant higher than the control group at .05 level. The students’ satisfaction toward the instructional model was also at a high level. Therefore, it could be concluded that the instructional model using augmented reality technology had efficiency and suitable to apply to the microcontroller foundation course for vocational certificate students. This paper explores the use of augmented reality (AR) to improve memory recall and learning experiences in human anatomy and physiology. In particular, the opportunity to assess new computer technologies to improve learning environments may allow for an improvement in self-efficacy and a reduction in test anxiety. Twenty-two undergraduates participated in one of two study groups, the Microsoft HoloLens group (HLNS) or the traditional projector-based Microsoft Power Point group (PPT). Each group completed a five-minute, three-subject anatomy identification and brain physiology memory test. After a three-minute time delay, participants completed a fill-in-the-blank anatomy identification test and brain physiology question test, followed by questionnaires for systems self-efficacy and test anxiety. Results indicated the PPT group significantly outperformed the HLNS group in the brain lobe identification portion of the exam and had reported higher mean test anxiety scores (though not high enough to be considered unhealthy levels). However, the HLNS group showed a significantly higher preference to the learning experience compared to the PPT group based on the systems self-efficacy questionnaire. Currently, how to apply Internet technology to piano teaching is the focus of research on piano education. Currently, such microelectromechanical sensors as accelerometers, gyroscopes and magnetometers are the dominant sensors in mobile devices. The market of mobile devices is constantly expanding and focused on sensor integration process by adding supplementary functionality for the applications; therefore, it is possible to adapt these sensors for augmented reality technology solutions. Many augmented reality solutions are based on computer vision processing methods in order to identify and track markers or other objects. However, the main problem is chaotic environment, lighting conditions where object recognition and tracking in realtime becomes difficult and sometimes is an impossible process. This paper analyses possibilities to apply microelectromechanical sensors. Additionally, it investigates quaternion use for sensor data to estimate reliable and accurate camera orientation and represent virtual content in augmented reality technology. In this paper, we propose a real-time visualization system utilizing Augmented Reality Technology for electromagnetics education. It gives an image of magnetic field generated by a bar magnet with a piece of iron in real-time, however the bar magnet and the piece of iron are represented by mock ones. In the newly proposed visualization system, these mocks are captured by a web camera, and mesh needed in the calculation of magnetic field is deformed. Subsequently, a finite element analysis is carried out in very short time and then the magnetic field is immediately visualized. Thereby, it is, in real-time, observable that magnetic flux lines generated by the bar magnet are attracted to a piece of iron.
