Elizabeth Ralph-Smith, a talented artist from New Zealand, has had a remarkable artistic journey. She began her exploration of the arts at a young age, learning to play the piano and participating in theater. Her artistic talents were recognized when her visual art portfolio was selected for a nationwide tour in New Zealand. At the age of 18, she was accepted into the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, where she studied traditional drawing and painting techniques for three years. After graduating, she now lives and works in Florence as an instructor and independent artist. Ralph-Smith's work is characterized by her commitment to painting from life and her ability to merge classical aesthetics with modern sensibilities. She recently won first place in the Portrait Society's The Future Generation competition for her portrait titled "Miriam in White," which captures the depth and complexity of the subject.
