Highlights: [•] Cholinesterases of C. gibbosa are very sensitive to azinphos-methyl. [•] Carboxylesterases are no inhibited at environmental concentrations. [•] Azinphos-methyl causes signs of neurotoxicity and increase glutathione and catalase. [•] C. gibbosa could be included as sentinel in monitoring programs of pesticide hazard.
