We show the lifespan of a strong solution to the incompressible 3D axially symmetric Euler system in R 3 can be arbitrarily large if the initial swirl is small enough. A precise lower bound of the lifespan, depending on the size of ‖ ∇ × (v 0 , θ e θ) ‖ L ∞ , is given. This extends the conclusion of Danchin (Proc Am Math Soc 141:1979–1993, 2012), in which the domain must be distant from the axis of symmetry. We consider the free boundary problem for a layer of incompressible fluid lying below the atmosphere and above a rigid bottom in the horizontally infinite setting. The fluid dynamics is governed by the incompressible Euler equations with damping and gravity, and the effect of surface tension is neglected on the upper free boundary. We prove the global well-posedness of the problem with the small initial data in both 2D and 3D. One of key ideas here is to make use of the time-weighted dissipation estimates to close the nonlinear energy estimates; in particular, this implies that the Lipschitz norm of the velocity is integrable-in-time, which is significantly different from that of viscous surface waves (Guo and Tice in Anal PDE 6(6):1429–1533, 2013; Wang in Adv Math 374:107330, 2020). We prove that the dissipative measure-valued solutions of the 3D compressible Euler–Poisson equations converge to the solution of the incompressible Euler equations in an asymptotic regime, where the Mach number and Debye length tend to zero simultaneously. In this paper, we study the inviscid and zero Froude number limits of the viscous shallow water system. We prove that the limit system is represented by the incompressible Euler equations on the whole space. Furthermore, the rate of convergence is also obtained.

In this paper, we mainly investigate the weak solutions of the three-dimensional incompressible Euler equations with helical symmetry in the whole space when the helical swirl vanishes. Specifically, we establish the global existence of weak solutions when the initial vorticity lies in L 1 ∩ L p with p > 1 . Our result extends the previous work [2] , where the initial vorticity is compactly supported and belongs to L p with p > 4 / 3 . The key ingredient in this paper involves the explicit analysis of Biot–Savart law with helical symmetry in domain R 2 × [ − π , π ] via the theories of singular integral operators and second order elliptic equations. The combined quasi-neutral and non-relativistic limit of compressible quantum Euler–Maxwell equations for plasmas is studied in this paper. For well-prepared initial data, it is shown that the smooth solution of compressible quantum Euler–Maxwell equations converges to the smooth solution of incompressible Euler equations by using the modulated energy method. Abstract: In this paper, we investigate the convergence of the time-dependent and non-isentropic Euler–Maxwell equations to incompressible Euler equations in a torus via the combined quasi-neutral and non-relativistic limit. For well prepared initial data, the convergences of solutions of the former to the solutions of the latter are justified rigorously by an analysis of asymptotic expansions and energy method. Abstract: The limit of the vanishing ratio of the electron mass to the ion mass in the isentropic transient Euler–Poisson equations with periodic boundary conditions is proved. The equations consist of the balance laws for the electron density and current density for a given ion density, coupled to the Poisson equation for the electrostatic potential. The limit is related to the low-Mach-number limit of Klainerman and Majda. In particular, the limit velocity satisfies the incompressible Euler equations with damping. The difference to the zero-Mach-number limit comes from the electrostatic potential which needs to be controlled. This is done by a reformulation of the equations in terms of the enthalpy, higher-order energy estimates and a careful use of the Poisson equation. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
