Multifunctional molecular switches have attracted much attention because of their unique stimulus response behavior and advanced applications. However, precise regulation of the structure for property enrichment is still a great challenge. Herein, the first case of a single‐molecule switch BN‐S with multiple structurally tunable and full‐color fluorescent properties is reported. Interestingly, BN‐S exhibits a butterfly‐like "metamorphosis" crystal growth process accompanied by full‐color fluorescence emission (including white light, CIE = 0.33, 0.33; 456 nm → 610 nm). It is shown that this is related to the reversible B←N bonding and the tunability of the spatial structure of the BN‐S. Thus, BN‐S exhibits superior multicolor tunability in different states (solid, liquid, and film), and its applications in white‐light optical light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and multicolor fluorescent inks also show great promise. This will provide a new strategy for designing and synthesizing the development of multifunctional molecular switching materials and enriching the variety of organoboron luminescent materials. Summary: The nuclear factor Y (NF‐Y) transcription factors play important roles in plant development and physiological responses. However, the relationship between NF‐Y, plant hormone and plant stress resistance in tropical crops remains unclear. In this study, we identified MeNF‐YC15 gene in the NF‐Y family that significantly responded to Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. manihotis (Xam) treatment. Using MeNF‐YC15‐silenced and ‐overexpressed cassava plants, we elucidated that MeNF‐YC15 positively regulated disease resistance to cassava bacterial blight (CBB). Notably, we illustrated MeNF‐YC15 downstream genes and revealed the direct genetic relationship between MeNF‐YC15 and 1‐aminocyclopropane‐1‐carboxylic acid (ACC) oxidase (MeACO1)‐ethylene module in disease resistance, as evidenced by the rescued disease susceptibility of MeNF‐YC15 silenced cassava plants with ethylene treatment or overexpressing MeACO1. In addition, the physical interaction between 2C‐type protein phosphatase 1 (MePP2C1) and MeNF‐YC15 inhibited the transcriptional activation of MeACO1 by MeNF‐YC15. High-pressure pure waterjet (WJ) technology is widely used in the hole drilling process for carbon fiber–reinforced polymers (CFRP) laminates because of its high processing efficiency and zero heat affected zones. However, the phenomena of the delamination zone and poor roundness pose significant challenges to the hole processing of CFRP laminates. In this study, the numerical and experimental investigation of a high-pressure pure WJ CFRP laminate drilling process are conducted, to improve the quality of the pure WJ drilling process. A comprehensive coupled fluid–solid numerical model based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method is developed to simulate the pure WJ drilling process of CFRP laminates and determine mechanism of the material removal. Thereafter, extensive pure WJ drilling experiments are conducted on two stacking sequence CFRP laminates to obtain a hole with remarkable roundness. The simulation results illustrate that during the WJ drilling of CFRP laminates, the material removal process and damage zones of each inter-laminate interface are mainly extended along the fiber direction (the direction of longitudinal Young's modulus). Water-wedging action is observed to play an important role in the damage of inter-laminate interface and propagation of peel-up and push-down delamination. Furthermore, the experimental results show that an increase in the WJ pressure contributes to the reduced hole taper and surface roughness of sidewalls. Holes with diameters below 2 mm are successfully drilled, and a roundness error of 0.05 mm is obtained for the [0/45/–45/90]2s CFRP laminate, which is 1/6 of that of the [0]16 laminate. As information messengers for cell‐to‐cell communication, exosomes, typically small membrane vesicles (30–150 nm), play an imperative role in the physiological and pathological processes of living systems. Accumulating studies have demonstrated that exosomes are potential biological candidates for theranostics, including liquid biopsy‐based diagnosis and drug delivery. However, their clinical applications are hindered by several issues, especially their unspecific detection and insufficient targeting ability. How to upgrade the accuracy of exosome‐based theranostics is being widely explored. Aptamers, benefitting from their admirable characteristics, are used as excellent molecular recognition elements to empower exosomes for precision theranostics. With high affinity against targets and easy site‐specific modification, aptamers can be incorporated with platforms for the specific detection of exosomes, thus providing opportunities for advancing disease diagnostics. Furthermore, aptamers can be tailored and functionalized on exosomes to enable targeted therapeutics. Herein, this review emphasizes the empowering of exosomes by aptamers for precision theranostics. A brief introduction of exosomes and aptamers is provided, followed by a discussion of recent progress in aptamer‐based exosome detection for disease diagnosis, and the emerging applications of aptamer‐functionalized exosomes for targeted therapeutics. Luminescent materials with multiple emission centers are attracting more and more attentions due to their potential applications in multicolor displays, polychromatic imaging, information encryption, and ratiometric chemical sensing. Organic molecules with phosphorescence behavior at room temperature (RTP) provide idea candidate for constructing luminescent materials with multiple emission centers, which show great potentials for application in ratiometric chemical sensing owing to its long‐lived emission and high signal‐to‐noise ratio. However, developing RTP materials with multiple emission centers and their application in aqueous solutions remains a huge challenge. Herein, two chromophore isomers (p‐N‐DPC·(PF6)2 and m‐N‐DPC·(PF6)2) based on carbazole and naphthalene units are prepared by using pyridine quaternary ammonium salt as link to improve their solubility in water and form electron deficient centers to facilitate charge transfer (CT). p‐N‐DPC·(PF6)2 displayed multiple emissions behavior, including monomer fluorescence, dimer fluorescence, monomer phosphorescence, dimer phosphorescence, and CT phosphorescence. Especially, p‐N‐DPC·(PF6)2 exhibits monomer fluorescence, dimer fluorescence, and CT phosphorescence in an aqueous solution, which is successfully applied as self‐calibrated dual ratio luminescent sensor for phosphate detection. This study not only provides a strategy to construct luminophore with multiple emissions but also develops a fluorescence/ phosphorescence dual ratio luminescent sensor in an aqueous solution. Photoactivated dynamic ultralong room‐temperature phosphorescent (PAD‐URTP) materials with changing emission colors are attractive and meaningful but are rarely reported. Herein, a one‐pot heat treatment strategy for embedding 1‐hydroxy‐2‐naphthoic acid (1H2NA) and 2‐hydroxy‐1‐naphthoic acid (2H1NA) into boric acid (BA) matrix (named 1H2NA@BA and 2H1NA@BA) to construct PAD‐URTP materials is developed, which exhibits rapid and reversible photoactivated phosphorescence, as well as photo‐stimulated dynamic change of luminescence color. The luminescent color of 1H2NA@BA could continuously change from blue‐purple to bright cyan‐white upon prolonged 365 nm UV light irradiation, which is attributed to the combined effect of static blue fluorescence and dynamic photoactivated green phosphorescence. Significantly, it could emit over 10 s green afterglow after switching off the UV irradiation. The combination of experiment and theoretical calculation results reveal that their PAD‐URTP behavior is attributed to the energy accumulation of triplet states under UV light irradiation. Finally, a series of information encryption and a complete story of "a mouse and cake" are successfully fabricated by using 1H2NA@BA with other luminescence materials. Thus, this study demonstrates fast PAD‐URTP materials with dynamic color‐changing luminescence and opens up new possibilities as the photo‐responsive luminescent material for further mechanistic understanding and future application. Organic radical luminescent materials have attracted worldwide attention because of their absolute spin‐allowed radiative transition and sensitivity to the environment, which give it multiple stimulus response properties. Nowadays, how to regulate and utilize the sensitivity of radicals has become a hot and difficult issue. Here, arylphosphonium bromide salts are introduced into the molecular backbone of naphthimide (NMI) using an intramolecular counterion strategy, and prepared a novel multifunctional stabilized radical luminescent: TPP‐o‐3OMe‐NMI‐Br. Interestingly, this molecule exhibits different assembly modes in different solvents, resulting in the generation of two crystals with different fluorescence (green: G‐C; orange–yellow: Y‐C), in which the Y‐C crystalline powder exhibits excellent stabilization properties for doublet and triplet excitons, which induce the emission of orange–yellow radical afterglow, and exhibits multi‐stimuli responsiveness to external pressure (P), temperature (T) and water (W). Moreover, interesting time‐dependent photoactivated colorful fluorescence and orange–yellow radical afterglow can be observed in TPP‐o‐3OMe‐NMI‐Br@PMMA films with different doping ratios and exhibit multi‐color tunability, multiple stimulus responses, multiple data encryption, and optical information erase/write behavior. This study not only broadens the types and applications of organic radical long afterglow materials but also provides new ideas for designing new organic "chameleon" luminescent materials in the field of smart luminescence materials. Molecular profiling of protein markers on small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) is a promising strategy for the precise detection and classification of ovarian cancers. However, this strategy is challenging owing to the lack of simple and practical detection methods. In this work, using an aptamer‐based nanoflow cytometry (nFCM) detection strategy, a simple and rapid method for the molecular profiling of multiple protein markers on sEVs was developed. The protein markers can be easily labeled with aptamer probes and then rapidly profiled by nFCM. Seven cancer‐associated protein markers, including CA125, STIP1, CD24, EpCAM, EGFR, MUC1, and HER2, on plasma sEVs were profiled for the molecular detection and classification of ovarian cancers. Profiling these seven protein markers enabled the precise detection of ovarian cancer with a high accuracy of 94.2 %. In addition, combined with machine learning algorithms, such as linear discriminant analysis (LDA) and random forest (RF), the molecular classifications of ovarian cancer cell lines and subtypes were achieved with overall accuracies of 82.9 % and 55.4 %, respectively. Therefore, this simple, rapid, and non‐invasive method exhibited considerable potential for the auxiliary diagnosis and molecular classification of ovarian cancers in clinical practice. Endometriosis (EMs) is a gynecological disorder. Ligustrazine has been reported to exert an anti-inflammatory effect on EMs. However, the underlying mechanisms are not completely understood. To investigate the effects of ligustrazine on the progression of EMs and the underlying regulatory mechanisms. Human endometrial stromal cells (HESCs) were isolated from patients with EMs or control subjects. HESCs were treated with 25, 50, 100, or 200 μM ligustrazine for 1, 3, 6, or 12 h. Western blot and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays were performed to determine the levels of proteins and inflammatory cytokines, respectively. The binding between STAT3 and insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 1 (IGF2BP1) was assessed by chromatin immunoprecipitation and dual-luciferase reporter assays. The relationship between IGF2BP1 and RELA was assessed by RNA immunoprecipitation and RNA pull-down assay. Phosphorylated STAT3, IGF2BP1, RELA, TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β were upregulated in EMs tissues compared with control tissues (by 1.79-, 2.55-, 1.58-, 3.01-, 2.55-, and 3.34-fold, respectively). Ligustrazine inhibited the expression of p-STAT3, IGF2BP1, RELA, IL-6, TNF-α, and IL-1β. Overexpression of STAT3 promoted RELA-mediated inflammatory responses, while ligustrazine (100 µM) notably reversed this phenomenon. Ligustrazine also alleviated RELA-induced inflammation via downregulating IGF2BP1. STAT3 bound to the promoter of IGF2BP1, and IGF2BP1 bound to the RELA mRNA. Ligustrazine inhibited inflammation in EMs via regulating the STAT3/IGF2BP1/RELA axis. The pure waterjet (WJ) drilling process of carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) laminates causes damage, such as tears and delamination, leading to poor-quality hole-wall. Ultrasonic-vibration-assisted technology can improve the quality of hole walls and repair such damage, particularly the delamination of CFRP laminates. In this study, we conducted a numerical and experimental investigation of a high-pressure pure WJ drilling process of CFRP laminates performed using ultrasonic vibration to improve the delamination phenomena of the pure WJ drilling process. An explicit dynamic model using the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method was employed to simulate the ultrasonic-vibration-assisted WJ drilling of CFRP laminates and ascertain the optimal drilling performance. Thereafter, WJ drilling experiments were conducted to verify the numerical simulation. The results illustrate that the employment of ultrasonic vibration significantly increased the material removal rate by approximately 20%. Moreover, the water-wedging action that induces the propagation of delamination was weakened with an increase in the amplitude of the ultrasonic vibration. The hole-wall quality was optimal with the following drilling parameters: amplitude, 10 μm; frequency, 20 kHz; and WJ velocity, 900 m/s. The delamination zone length was only 0.19 mm and was reduced by 85.6% compared with the values obtained using non-assisted WJ drilling. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abrasive waterjet (AWJ) cutting technology has notable advantages such as high cutting efficiency and cost-effectiveness, particularly for machining difficult-to-process metal matrix composites such as SiCp/Al. However, the uncontrollable kerf shape, cutting depth, and surface quality render AWJ grooving on SiCp/Al substrate challenging. In this study, a novel method for grooving on SiCp/Al substrate using AWJ, with the aim of enhancing the quality of AWJ machining processes, is proposed. First, a predictive model based on the improved model of erosion by the impact of solid particle is established for the geometry of groove kerf profiles. Second, a comprehensive analysis is performed to investigate the influence of process parameters on the quality of grooves using the waterjet cutting mechanism, thereby identifying the optimal process parameters for achieving superior results. Finally, the proposed predictive model of the kerf depth is used to predict the groove depth in multi-pass waterjet cutting. The results reveal that the combination of machining parameters comprising 100 MPa, 500 mm/min, and two waterjet passes achieves a desirable kerf shape, lowest roughness value of 5.11 μm, and flattest bottom profile. Additionally, these parameters achieve a high material removal rate of up to 1326.17 mm3/min. The predicted depth results agree well with the five multi-pass experimental results, and the average difference between the predicted model and the experimental results is 5.24%. The spatial arrangement of molecules plays a crucial role in determining the macroscopic properties of functional materials. Coordinated polymers (CPs) formed by self‐assembly of organic isomeric ligands and metals offer unique performance characteristics. In this study, we present the investigation of a one‐dimensional CP, named CIT‐E, composed of tetraphenylethene pyridine derivative (TPE‐2by‐2‐E) ligands and copper iodide. The resulting CP exhibits a one‐dimensional bead chain structure with exceptional thermal and chemical stability. By leveraging the competitive absorption between CIT‐E and the explosive analog 2,4‐dinitroaniline, we achieve detection of the explosive through changes in the absorption intensity of the excitation light source and subsequent fluorescence response. The CP demonstrates high selectivity and anti‐interference ability in detecting 2,4‐dinitroaniline in aqueous solution, with a detection linear range of 0.1 to 300 μM and a detection limit of 0.05 μM, surpassing the national third‐level emission standard. Objectives: Carotid endarterectomy (CEA) is an effective technique for carotid artery stenosis and has been widely used. Stellate ganglion block (SGB) has good effect on the treatment of both painful and non-painful diseases. To investigate the efficacy of SGB in terms of cerebral protection in patients undergoing CEA and to analyze its mechanism Methods: In this retrospective analysis, 120 patients who underwent CEA were enrolled and divided into study group (SG) (60 cases, general anesthesia and SGB) and control group (CG) (60 cases, general anesthesia). The differences in hemodynamic indexes, middle cerebral artery (MCA) hemodynamic indexes, and endocrine-related indexes between the two groups at the baseline, after induction of anesthesia (induction), and skin incision (incision) were compared. The differences in neurological function and pain level between two groups 1 day pre-operatively (pre-op 1), 1 day postoperatively (POD 1), 2 day postoperatively (POD 2), and 7 day postoperatively (POD 7) were also evaluated. Perioperative adverse events and intraoperative anesthetics dosage were compared between two groups; Results: The systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, mean pulse pressure difference, and heart rate of SG at incision were lower than those of the CG (p < 0.05); Vs, Vd, and Vm of MCA were significantly higher in the SG than in CG at induction and incision (p < 0.05). Cortisol and aldosterone levels were lower and potassium and insulin levels were higher in the SG than in CG at induction and incision (p < 0.05); At pre-op 1, POD 1, POD 2, and POD 7, the VAS scores of patients in the SG were significantly lower than those in CG at POD 1, POD 2, and POD 7 (p < 0.05). The patients in SG showed decreased incidence of perioperative adverse events compared with the CG (p < 0.05); The consumption of anesthetics in the SG was lower than that in CG (p < 0.05). Conclusion: SGB in patients undergoing CEA treatment can improve perioperative cerebral blood supply and reduce the consumption of anesthetics and the incidence of perioperative adverse events, which is safe and feasible as a cerebral protection measure. Since the discovery of aggregation-induced emission (AIE), the development of new AIE fluorogens (AIEgens) has become a significant field owing to their versatile application in diverse fields. To achieve aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) to AIE conversion, considerable attention is paid to the strategy of changing the stacking pattern of molecules, and several researchers are focused on modulating the electronic structure of the excited state of molecules. In this study, acetoxy and methoxy electron-donating groups (EDG) and carboxyl and ester electron-withdrawing groups (EWG) were introduced onto quinoline through a facile Suzuki coupling reaction. The experimental results reveal that the behavior of quinoline derivatives can be converted from ACQ to AIE by altering substituents from EDG to EWG. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) and transient and steady-state spectra were employed to reveal that their AIE mechanism involved the restriction of intramolecular motion (RIM). In addition, density functional theory (DFT) calculations showed that the ACQ to AIE transition can be achieved by changing the reorganization energy distribution of the molecule with different substituents in the excited state. Furthermore, the coordination of quinoline nitrogen atoms to Fe3+ facilitated the production of larger nanofibers that possessed enhanced AIE properties. This unique characteristic was utilized to leverage the capabilities of methyl 4-(quinolin-5-yl)benzoate (5-MQB) as a ratiometric fluorescent probe for detecting Fe3+ in aqueous solution. In order to achieve simple, rapid, and highly sensitive detection of trimethoprim (TMP), a magnetic molecularly imprinted carbon paste electrode (MCPE) was prepared by drop-coating magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP@Fe3O4@MWNTs) on the surface of reduction graphene oxide (rGO)/MCPE doped with Fe3O4@MWNTs. The introduction of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and rGO served as dual signal-amplification materials, which can improve the response sensitivity of the sensor. In addition, the magnetic interaction between the substrate electrode and the molecularly imprinted material was beneficial to increasing the stability of the sensor. As expected, the electrochemical sensor not only showed sensitivity and selectivity for the detection of TMP, but it also possessed good stability. The detection range for TMP was 4.0 × 10−9~5.0 × 10−4 mol/L, and the detection limit was 1.2 × 10−9 mol/L. The response performance varied within 10% when the sensor was placed for more than 2 months and used more than 60 times. The spiked recoveries of TMP in environmental water samples, urine samples, and pharmaceuticals (drugs) were between 91% and 110%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was within 5%. Citrus is an important source of flavonoids in our daily diet. Citrus flavonoids have antioxidant, anticancer, anti‐inflammatory, and cardiovascular disease prevention functions. Studies have shown that some pharmaceutical values of flavonoids may be related to their binding to bitter taste receptors, thus activating downstream signal transduction pathways; however, the underlying mechanism has not been systematically elucidated. In this paper, the biosynthesis pathway and the absorption and metabolism of citrus flavonoids were briefly reviewed, and the relationship between flavonoid structure and bitter taste intensity was investigated. In addition, the pharmacological effects of bitter flavonoids and the activation of bitter taste receptors in combating various diseases were discussed. This review provides an important basis for the targeted design of citrus flavonoid structures to make them more biologically active and more attractive as powerful drugs for the effective treatment of chronic diseases such as obesity, asthma, and neurological diseases. Metal–organic framework (MOF) materials with aqueous stability have a good potential application in the field of mimetic enzymes. However, most of them have poor robustness in aqueous solution due to competitive coordination effects between water molecules and central metal ions. Herein, a copper-based MOF (Cu-SM MOF) was prepared using copper ions and 5-(sulfomethyl) isophthalic acid (5-SMIPA) by a hydrothermal process. Considering the similarity of coordination and morphology with HKUST-1, the aqueous stability and laccase-like activity of the Cu-SM MOF were investigated using HKUST-1 as the reference. The Cu-SM MOF shows superior aqueous stability to HKUST-1 after immersion in buffer solutions, especially under alkaline conditions. Moreover, the Cu-SM MOF possesses higher catalytic activity than HKUST-1 at a high salt concentration, high temperature, etc., because the Cu-SM MOF exhibits lower Km and higher Vmax values than those of laccase and reported mimetic enzymes. The mimetic enzyme behavior of the Cu-SM MOF is demonstrated in the oxidation of phenols, as well as in the detection of 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DP) and p-nitrophenol with linear ranges of 1–100 μM and 2–250 μM, and limits of detection of 0.53 μM and 1.62 μM, respectively. Owing to the excellent aqueous stability and laccase-like activity of the Cu-SM MOF, it has great application prospects in many fields, such as the determination of phenols and the treatment of industrial wastewater. Aptamers are emerging as promising molecular tools in cancer‐targeted theranostics. Improving their in vivo stability has been a critical issue in promoting clinical translation, but such efforts could lead to more serious side effects resulting from prolonged retention in healthy organs. To address this problem, we developed an environment‐responsive stabilization strategy for the selective enhancement of aptamer biostability in the tumor microenvironment (TME). Briefly, by means of the end extension of an ATP‐responsive protection (ARP) module, the designed aptamer could be protected from nuclease degradation through the specific incorporation of ATP. Based on our in vivo results, this ARP‐aptamer probe was effectively accumulated in tumors via aptamer‐based molecular recognition. It showed selectively prolonged tumor retention time, but rapid digestion in healthy organs. Melatonin is an important molecule in both animals and plants, regulating circadian rhythms and stress responses. Therefore, the improvement of melatonin accumulation not only strengthens the function of melatonin but also improves stress resistance in crops. Although melatonin biosynthetic enzymes have been identified through reverse genetics previously, an investigation of melatonin level‐related genes through forward genetics in plants has yet to be performed. In this study, a genome‐wide association study using cassava natural population of 298 genetic resources identified melatonin accumulation 1 (MA1), which regulates the natural variation of melatonin levels in cassava. We found that MA1 encodes type 2C protein phosphatase 1 (PP2C1), which serves as a negative regulator of melatonin levels in cassava. MePP2C1 physically interacts with MeRAV1/2 and MeWRKY20 and dephosphorylates them at serine (S) 35 residue, S34 residue, and S176 residue, respectively, thereby hindering their transcriptional activation on downstream melatonin biosynthetic genes. Notably, MePP2C1 interacts with phytomelatonin receptor MePMTR1 and dephosphorylates it at S11 residue, repressing its binding to melatonin. In summary, this study demonstrates that MePP2C1 as MA1 plays dual roles in negatively regulating both melatonin accumulation and signaling, extending the understanding of the molecular mechanism underlying melatonin accumulation and signaling through forward genetics in plants. Ultralong room-temperature phosphorescence materials with photostimulus-responsive (named URTP-PSR) behaviour are amazing but still rarely reported due to their great limitations in the crystal structure, complicated synthesis process, slow photo-activation and deactivation. Herein, a series of URTP-PSR materials, named BADs@BA, were prepared by a facile doping process, which involved one-pot heat treatment of benzoic acid derivatives and boric acid. The BADs@BA displayed gradually enhanced ultralong phosphorescence upon prolonged deep UV light irradiation under ambient conditions. The photo-activation and deactivation process could be finished within several seconds, which was much faster than those of the previously reported URTP-PSR materials. The optical process could be repeated many times without losing performance, suggesting excellent fatigue resistance behaviours of the BADs@BA. Owing to their high processability and URTP-PSR behaviour, the BADs@BA can be utilized for anti-counterfeiting pattern applications. It is worth mentioning that all of the raw materials are commercialized and of low-cost, and could be purchased directly, which is of benefit for practical applications. These findings could break through many limitations of existing dynamic RTP materials and expand the scope of dynamic smart-response materials for great potential in many fields. With the continuous development of the social economy, people pay more and more attention to their own protection and maintenance, especially the quality of commodities in terms of usage of the commodity. As commonly used commodities, the quality of their new products in cosmetics is extremely important. In the rapidly developing cosmetics industry, in view of these needs and limitations, the data management method of visualization in scientific computing is introduced in this paper. Multiple risk factors in cosmetics development are established and sorted from the three perspectives of cosmetics development, production, and sales, by combining the new cosmetic product development process. The biggest risks are clarified, the corresponding cosmetic product risk assessment model is constructed, and the new cosmetic product development risk strategy and related management are realized. The simulation experiment results show that the data management method of visualization in scientific computing is effective and can support the risk management of new cosmetic product development. Since the concept of aggregation-induced emission (AIE) was proposed, along with the development of new AIE molecules and broadening of its application field, the exploration of its mechanism has attracted more and more attention. During the past years, various mechanisms have been proposed to reveal this novel phenomenon, including restriction of intramolecular motion (RIM) and restriction of access to the dark state (RADS). However, most of the studies have been focused on the effect of molecular structures and their stacking mode on their AIE behavior, and little effort has been made to reveal the role of the interaction between solvent and AIE aggregates on it. Herein, a series of AIE molecules have been designed and synthesized by introducing the carbonyl group into different aromatic rings, since it possesses a good spin–orbit coupling (SOC) effect and hydrogen bond acceptor, which could allow the molecules to enter the dark state. The solvent effect on their fluorescence properties and excited state electronic structures was investigated by using transient and steady state spectra, X-ray single crystal diffraction spectra and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. It was found that the water molecules not only acted as the poor solvent to induce the significant aggregation and inhibit the nonradiative transition but also as the hydrogen bond donor to induce the RADS process for triggering fluorescence. Moreover, owing to the unique intermolecular hydrogen bond effect on its fluorescence behavior, the 4-(quinolin-8-yl) benzaldehyde (QLB-8) molecule had been applied to the detection of aspartic acid. Traditionally, writing quality is measured by human ratings, either holistically or analytically. The present study aimed to investigate the locus of human ratings by analyzing the linguistic features that are predictive of writing quality. One hundred and 44 argumentative writing samples from Chinese learners of English as a foreign language were evaluated by human ratings and quantitative measurement of writing quality indexed by Coh-Metrix. Holistic and analytic human ratings had significant correlations with quantitative measures related to syntactic variety and transformation. Moreover, linear and logistic regressions revealed that syntactic simplicity, words before main verb, syntactic structure similarity in all sentences and across paragraphs, incidence of passive voice and temporal connectives were five valid indices that can consistently differentiate writing quality indexed by human ratings. The morphology of nanomaterials (geometric shape and dimension) play a significant role in its various physical and chemical properties. Thus, it is essential to link morphology with performance in specific applications. For this purpose, the morphology of copper metal–organic polyhedra (Cu‐MOP) can be modulated through distinct assembly process, which facilitates the exploration of the relationship between morphology and catalytic performance. In this work, the assemblies of Cu‐MOP with three different morphologies (nanorods, nanofibers and nanosheets) were facilely prepared by the variation of solvent mixture of N, N‐dimethylformamide (DMF) and methanol, revealed the important role of the interaction between the surface group and the solvent on the morphology of these assemblies. Cu‐MOP nanofibers exhibited the highest mimetic peroxidase enzyme activity over the Cu‐MOP nanosheets and nanorods, which have been utilized in the detection of glucose. Cu‐MOPs assemblies with tunable morphology accompanied with adjustable mimic peroxidase activity, had great potential applications in the field of bioanalytical chemistry and biomedicals. In this article we present our results from the SC19 Student Cluster Competition Reproducibility Challenge. The challenge entails reproducing the article entitled “Computing Planetary Interior Normal Modes with A Highly Parallel Polynomial Filtering Eigensolver” presented at SC’18, which proposes a parallel polynomial filtered Lanczos algorithm to directly calculate the planetary normal modes of heterogeneous planets. The proposed algorithm showed excellent performance with relatively low memory consumption and high parallel efficiency. In this work, we reproduce the scaling tests in that article on a cluster using Intel Cascade Lake architecture and use the proposed algorithm to illustrate specific normal modes of Mars. We compare the results obtained on our cluster with those in the original article. We also design a new metric to better analyze the results. In addition, we use the profiling tool Intel VTune Amplifier to explain our discoveries. Our results demonstrate that the given models show great scalability, which is similar to the original article. The required normal modes of Mars are also successfully calculated and visualized.
