In this paper, we detect Unstable Periodic Orbits (UPOs) of both self-excited and hidden attractors using the Damped Newton–Raphson–Mees algorithm. This study answers one of the long-standing questions about the size of a hidden attractor. We observe that the UPOs of the self-excited attractor are spread in a thick region within the phase space at varying distances from the fixed point, whereas the UPOs of hidden attractors are confined to a thin layer. This reveals details concerning the size of a hidden attractor. We demonstrate this for a hidden attractor without a fixed point and for a hidden attractor with a single stable fixed point. Echinococcal liver cysts are predominantly located in the right lobe of the liver and are mostly asymptomatic. A frank intra-biliary rupture (IBR) of hydatid cyst is uncommon, having variable clinical presentation and treatment options. We present a case of a 60-year-old male patient who presented with pain in the upper abdomen associated with vomiting but without jaundice. On investigations, he was diagnosed to have a left lobe hepatic hydatid cyst (HHC) with IBR for which left hepatectomy with bile duct exploration was performed. Mucinous adenocarcinoma of jejunum is a rare tumor of the gastrointestinal tract. Patients usually present after fifth decade of their life with non-specific symptoms. Delayed diagnosis is commonplace and often the reason for advanced disease and poor prognosis. These tumors may masquerade as other common malignancies, with a conclusive diagnosis only after the final histopathological examination. We present a case of jejunal mucinous adenocarcinoma, disguised as cecal malignancy, in an old female patient, managed with radical resection and adjuvant chemotherapy. Background: Esophageal carcinosarcoma is an uncommon histologic variant of esophageal malignancy, occurring in approximately 0.5% to 2.8% of patients. Esophageal carcinosarcoma usually involves the middle and lower esophagus and consists of both epithelial and mesenchymal components. Case Report: A 54-year-old male presented with painless progressive dysphagia associated with loss of weight for 2 months. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy suggested an ulceroproliferative polypoidal growth in the lower thoracic esophagus. Biopsies from the growth showed leiomyosarcoma with tumor cells immunopositive for vimentin, h-Caldesmon, and smooth muscle actin and negative for pan-cytokeratin. Imaging suggested a heterogeneously enhancing polypoidal growth arising in the lower third of the esophagus. Thoracoscopic-assisted McKeown esophagectomy with gastric pull-up and standard 2-field lymphadenectomy was performed. Aminor epithelial component was identified on final pathologic examination in addition to the leiomyosarcoma found on the preoperative biopsy. This epithelial component was invasive squamous cell carcinoma and was positive for pan-cytokeratin and p40, both of which were negative in the sarcomatous component. The patient received 4 cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy (carboplatin and paclitaxel).However, he developed a recurrence in the left cervical lymph node 4 months after adjuvant treatment and died 2 months after the diagnosis of recurrence. Conclusion: Carcinosarcoma can be easily missed in the presence of predominantly sarcomatous components even on immunohistochemical analysis. Background: Gangliocytic paraganglioma (GP) is a rare tumor that most commonly arises from the duodenum and is characterized pathologically by 3 cell types: epithelioid, spindle, and ganglion cells. GP is often difficult to differentiate from a neuroendocrine tumor on the basis of preoperative imaging, and the diagnosis is based on final histopathologic and immunohistochemical analysis. Case Report: We report the case of a 28-year-old male who presented with pain in the abdomen, bilious vomiting, and weight loss. Imaging showed a mass involving the first and second part of the duodenum that was likely a neuroendocrine or gastrointestinal stromal tumor. He underwent robotic-assisted pancreatoduodenectomy, and the final pathology report identified GP with lymph node metastasis. The patient was doing well at 1-year follow-up. Conclusion: GP is often a histologic surprise as most cases are diagnosed in postoperative histopathology. While GP has a more benign course than a neuroendocrine tumor, radical surgical resection is warranted in cases of diagnostic dilemma, suspicion of malignancy, or lymph node metastasis. Our study aimed to enhance the understanding of Land Surface Temperature (LST) dynamics and its impact on environment using remote sensing techniques. By developing LST prediction models based on MODIS data, we analysed both day and night LST patterns in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, India. Multiple evaluation metrics were employed to assess the accuracy of models and performance comprehensive assessment. Our findings revealed valuable insights into the correlation between diurnal LST at different times. Notably, night-time LST predictions exhibited a higher Pearson's correlation coefficient compared to day-time predictions, indicating a stronger linear relationship. The determination coefficient (R2) indicated a good fit between the predicted and test LST. Model selection was guided by the Akaike's Information Criteria (AIC) and Bayesian Information Criteria (BIC). The lower AIC and BIC values associated with night-time LST predictions suggested a better balance between model fit and complexity. Our study contributes to the advancement of remote sensing and climate research through a robust LST model-based prediction framework. The insights gained from our results have implications for various fields including environmental monitoring, urban planning and climate change studies. Mature cystic teratoma is a benign ovarian tumor that usually presents in reproductive-age females. This tumor usually presents with pain abdomen, bloating, and a lump. Hereby, we describe a case of an ovarian dermoid presented with features of intestinal obstruction secondary to ileo-dermoid fistula formation. A 55-year-old postmenopausal female presented with lower abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and the feeling of a lump in the abdomen. On evaluation and imaging, it was diagnosed as a large ovarian dermoid (with malignant transformation) with multiple fistulous communications with ileal loops. The patient was managed by laparotomy, total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, bowel resection, and anastomosis. The patient was discharged in good condition. The rupture of malignant ovarian dermoid followed by enterodermoid fistula formation and intestinal obstruction is rare. Complete cytoreduction and bowel repair should be considered for optimal results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Acute pancreatitis (AP) has been reported following abdominal surgeries. There are rare reports of AP developing following operations remote to the pancreas. We report a case of postoperative AP following craniotomy for tumor excision. A 15-year-old girl presented with a history of one episode of seizure, headache, and recent left-sided hemiparesis. She was found to have a right frontal glial lesion with extensive white matter tract edema. Craniotomy and excision was done. On the first postoperative day, she developed acute abdominal pain, with guarding and tenderness on examination. Radiological and biochemical evidence for AP was found. AP is a rare, but life-threatening complication. A number of drugs commonly used in neurosurgical practice can cause AP, which include steroids, antiepileptics, and propofol which are extensively used during surgery and for sedation in the intensive care area. Background: Essential thrombocythemia is a chronicmyeloproliferative neoplasm characterized by thrombotic and hemorrhagic complications. Essential thrombocythemia can be considered a risk factor for thrombotic events. Case Report: A 34-year-old female presented with sudden onset of abdominal pain from splenic infarction for which she underwent splenectomy. Bone marrow examination performed because of increasing thrombocytosis led to a diagnosis of essential thrombocythemia. Postoperatively, she was maintained on low-dose aspirin and doing well at follow-up. Conclusion: Our patient had an undiagnosed case of essential thrombocythemia and presentedwith symptoms related to splenic infarction. Pancreatic schwannoma is a rare, well-encapsulated tumor of the pancreas. Preoperative diagnosis of this tumor is uncommon due to marked degenerative change, its rarity, and overlapping clinical and imaging features with other pancreatic neoplasms. Here, we report two cases of pancreatic schwannoma, suspected preoperatively based on their multimodal imaging features, so that enucleation was possible.
