The article brings a detailed formal analysis of the Roman capitals from Sirmium, in the light of the stone analysis conducted on the material at the Museum of Srem and elsewhere in Sremska Mitrovica. The capitals dot the historical development of the town from the first half of the 2nd century until the 4th century. First made of regional limestone, they were later joined by those of limestone and marbles of distant source, whereby different stones in capitals coexisted almost throughout the town’s development. This was certainly the situation during the flourishing times of the late 3rd and the 4th century, when Sirmium, as one of the four capitals of the Roman Empire, stood within several formal circles of capitals. The plain-leaved capitals tie it to the rest of Pannonia, the Corinthianizing capitals to the provinces to the east and south, while part of the Asiatic capitals, the largest group, tie it to the wider area of the Mediterranean.

The project work in the 2007 season included the analysis of stone monuments held at the Museum of Srem and across the town of Sremska Mitrovica as well as at Site 1a - Imperial palace. Particular attention was paid to two closed groups: the monolithic altars from the temple of Iuppiter within the statio beneficiarii, made between ca AD100 and 231, and the remains of the temple known as the 'Tetrapylon', consisting of blocks of limestone. The results of the analysis show a parallel and quantitatively comparable use of limestone of Lithotypes I and II for altars dating from ca AD100 to ca 185 as well as a predominance of Lithotype II in later times. The analysis of the limestone blocks used in the construction of the 'Tetrapylon', on the other hand, has shown the material to originate from the Dardagani quarry and revealed an as yet unknown lithotype from the area.

The stone artefacts from Sirmium, held at the Museum of Srem, were sampled and analyzed in order to establish an archaeological database connected with Roman quarries and possible transport routes along the Sava and Danube Rivers. Of the artefacts made of Neogene limestone three lithotypes were identified. Two of them were determined as originating from the known Roman quarry in the Drina Valley (NE Bosnia). For the third lithotype and its subtypes a model of the hypothetical quarry is proposed, the location of which is suggested to be outside the Drina river basin. Beside limestone, the sampled artefacts also revealed two types of porous volcanoclastic rocks of andesitic composition, which supposedly originate from two different microlocations in the Drina river basin.

Gamification involves integrating game mechanics into non-game environments such as business intranets, online communities, websites, and learning management systems to boost participation. Its aim is to actively engage employees, customers, and other stakeholders, fostering collaboration, sharing, and interaction. Gamification is a relatively unfamiliar term in Slovenia. The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of gamification on Slovenian consumers, specifically how it affects the online shopping process and user engagement during purchases. To test the hypotheses, we used appropriate statistical tools: chi-square, Friedman, and Wilcoxon tests. The findings indicate that gamification's strongest influence is not on the post-purchase evaluation phase but rather on the alternative evaluation phase. It is interesting that highly rated reviewers significantly influence product purchases in online stores, while consumers are unwilling to increase their spending on online purchases in exchange for gamification-related benefits. The craft brewing industry is in a constant state of evolution. Over recent years, the craft beer sector has experienced rapid growth, and this trajectory is expected to persist. Microbreweries, in contrast to traditional industrial beer production, actively encourage the exploration of diverse beer styles, embrace the trend of championing local and regional ingredients, and maintain a strong focus on quality while resurrecting historic beer varieties. An analysis of interviews conducted with microbrewers in Slovenia featured in Slovenian daily newspapers revealed recurring categories that shed light on the drivers behind this flourishing artisanry. These findings are further discussed in the context of the existing scientific literature. Notably, a range of factors were identified as contributing to the growth of this sector. Among these factors, the desire for distinctive, authentic, locally rooted, and non-standardized flavours, styles, and ingredients, often accompanied by an inspiring and compelling brewer's or creator's narrative, played a pivotal role in attracting consumers. These results can inform microbrewers production, distribution, marketing, and pricing strategies. In this paper, the author analysed the responses to a questionnaire about micro-credentials of several groups of students studying at the Faculty of Management, University of Primorska in Slovenia in order to see how familiar they were with the concept, their perceived value of micro-credentials and their willingness to participate in such short courses. The study showed, first, that only a small number of students were well-acquainted with the concept; second, that students would be willing to attend such courses; third, that there were substantial differences between different groups of students regarding what they thought they needed the most. Based on the research, the author saw the potential of micro-credentials not only for bridging the skills gap and catering for labour market need, but also for acquiring new skills, upskilling and - in the case of Slovenian undergraduate and postgraduate students - for timely completion of their studies. In line with numerous studies, export success of small and medium-sized enterprises (smes) could be considerably improved were companies aware of the importance of foreign language skills among their employees. In other words, many business opportunities are lost within the European Union because of the lack of language skills. Many authors report that adopting a language management strategy is linked to a significant increase in companies’ export sales. The elan (Effects on the European Economy of Shortages of Foreign Language Skills in Enterprise) findings should also be considered because of the relatively high importance of smes in providing employment. This article investigates, by means of a questionnaire sent to 1499 Slovenian exporting smes from various industries, how aware these companies are of the elan findings, and which language strategies they have implemented in their business operations. The findings of our 2021 study revealed that Slovenian exporting smes are slowly becoming more aware of the benefits of language management strategies, but that some improvements are nevertheless still possible. The Kvarner fault divides the Microadria (Adria microplate, the Adria stable core) into the Po and Adria segments. The Istra block, which is sandwiched between the right-lateral Kvarner Fault and the left-lateral Sistiana Fault lies at the extreme eastern edge of the Po segment. Both faults run transversely to the Dinarides and reach their thrust boundary in the east. The Microadria has been moving towards the Dinarides since the Middle Miocene. The movement of the Istra block is exposed in relation to the neighbouring blocks, so an extensive pushed area (the Istra Pushed Area) was formed in the External Dinarides, which is bent towards the northeast. It is defined by two f lexural zones, one lying in the extension of the Sistiana Fault and the other in the extension of the Kvarner Fault. The structure of the Dinaric thrust border on the north-eastern side of the Istra block is complex. Its prominent structural element is the Črni Kal Anomaly, due to which a zone of increased compression developed within the Istra Pushed Area and transversely to the Dinarides (Kraški rob – Hrušica Traverse), which lies between the Sistiana and Kvarner Flexural Zones. In terms of kinematics, it differs greatly from these two, and various geomorphologically responsive deformations have occurred within it. Mt. Vremščica (1027 m), which represents a transpressive anticline within the wider zone of the Raša Fault is the most prominent. In order to understand the genesis of the Classical Karst relief, it is important to know that the Mt. Vremščica ridge rose from the levelled karst surface. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

According to the elan study and a substantial body of previous research, a significant amount of business is being lost in the eu due to a lack of language skills. In our article, we analyse how Austrian and Slovenian small andmedium-sized enterprises (smes) adopt languagemanagement strategies (lmss).We investigate, by means of a questionnaire sent to Slovenian and Austrian smes, how aware they are of the elan findings, what language strategies they have adopted and whether the knowledge of English is sufficient for their successful business operations on globalmarkets. The findings show that Slovenian exporting smes are not completely aware of the benefits a language management strategy could bring to their business operations on foreign markets. In contrast, Austrian exporting smes are more likely to provide language training for their staff, employ native speakers, and use local agents for their language needs considerably more often, as well as use the services of professional translators and interpreters almost three times more often.E [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

According to the ELAN study, export success of SMEs can be significantly improved if enterprises were aware of the importance of foreign language skills of their employees. Adopting a language management strategy (LMS) has been linked to a substantial increase in companies' export sales. For Slovenian economy, the ELAN findings are of utmost importance due to the relatively high importance of SMEs in providing employment in Slovenia. In our article, we investigate, by means of a questionnaire sent to 150 Slovenian small and medium-sized enterprises, how aware are they of ELAN findings, what - if any - language strategies they have adopted and if the knowledge of English is sufficient for their successful business operations on global markets in the future. The findings show that Slovenian exporting SMEs are not completely aware of the benefits a language management strategy could bring to their business operations on foreign markets.
