Fingerprint-based indoor localization has been a hot research topic. However, the current fingerprint-based indoor localization approaches still rely on a single fingerprint database, where the average level of data at reference points is used as the fingerprint representation. In variable environmental conditions, the variations in signals caused by changes in the environmental states introduce significant deviations between the average level and the actual fingerprint characteristics. This deviation leads to a mismatch between the constructed fingerprint database and the real-world conditions, thereby affecting the effectiveness of fingerprint matching. Meanwhile, the sharp noise interference caused by uncertainties such as personnel movement has a significant interference on the creation of the fingerprint database and fingerprint matching in online stage. Examination of the sampling data after denoising with Robust Principal Component Analysis (RPCA) revealed distinct multi-fingerprint characteristics with clear boundaries at certain access points. Based on these observations, the concept of constructing a fingerprint database using multiple fingerprints is introduced and its feasibility is explored. Additionally, a multi-fingerprint solution based on naive Bayes classification is proposed to accurately represent fingerprint characteristics under different environmental conditions. This method is based on the online stage fingerprints. The corresponding state space is selected using the naive Bayes classifier, enabling the selection of an appropriate fingerprint database for matching. Through simulations and empirical evaluations, the proposed multi-fingerprints construction scheme consistently outperforms the traditional single-fingerprint database in terms of positioning accuracy across all tested localization algorithms. The limitations of Content Based Video Retrieval (CBVR), such as large pools of video data, selection of features, limited processing capacity, and content-related issues, can be overcome by Deep Belief Neural Networks (DBNs). The search engine does the processing, and the results are effectively returned to the users. The deep learning model also has some comparable challenges to be solved at various levels. Typically, the selection of frames is one of the most essential tasks for a face retrieval system which is efficiently accomplished by using deep learning models. Also, the performance of recognition models highly depends on the selection of frames that include both low-level and high-level features from the given video sequence. This paper proposes ALPHA-TO-OMEGA (ALMEGA-VIR) Visual Information Retrieval scheme that analyzes the contents of the video file for a particular face and retrieves the user's relevant videos. VIR aims to solve the challenge of locating relevant pictures and videos based on a query. VIR can be based on text-based search, content-based search, and Mixed based search. VIR here focuses on content-based search approach. The YouTube Celebrities (YTC) dataset, the Youtube Face (YTF) dataset, and Honda / UCSD dataset are used in this work. The used dataset addresses issues such as illumination changes, occlusion, rotation, and scale. We propose an ALMEGA-VIR framework for visual novelty face identification for specific investigation and evaluation. The classification accuracy of the proposed ALMEGA-VIR model shows that 4% is more effective than traditional classifier algorithms such as SVM, Naïve Bayesian classifier, MLP and Random Forest classifier. Alcoholism is a severe, disorder that affects; the functionality of neurons in the central nervous system and leads to the loss of. health and wealth. The suggested technique applies statistical and fractal dimension (FD) features to classify alcoholic and normal subjects using eight channels under an SF-based machine learning architecture. Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals are placed in a framework and separated into different EEG bands using an orthogonal wavelet filter. The following three classification approaches are used to classify the alcoholic and normal patterns of EEG data: least-square support vector machine, vector machine (SVM), and Naïve Bayesian. Non-invasive characteristics such as gender, age, body mass index (BMI), systolic blood pressure (SBP), and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were collected and used as input variables to train and evaluate ML models for MetS identification. Several ML models were used for MetS identification, including logistic regression (LR), k-nearest neighbors algorithm (k-NN), naive bayesian (NB), decision tree (DT), random forest (RF), artificial neural network (ANN), and support vector machine (SVM).Results: Our ML models all showed good performance in the 10-fold cross-validation except for the SVM model. In the external validation, the NB model exhibited the best performance with an AUC of 0.976, accuracy of 0.923, sensitivity of 98.32%, and specificity of 91.32%.Conclusion: This study proposed a new non-invasive method for early and low-cost identification of MetS by using ML models. In this paper, a novel Multi Class based Feature Extraction (MC-FE) method has been proposed for medical data classification. Genomic datasets, or gene expression-based microarray medical datasets, are categorised for cancer diagnosis. The first stage involves applying a feature extraction technique. The Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is used to extract the features for medical data classification to detect leukemia, colon tumors, and prostate cancer. The MPSO (modified particle swarm optimization) technique is used at the second stage to pick features from high-dimensional microarray medical datasets like prostate cancer, leukemia, and colon tumors. Finally, SVM, KNN, and Naive Bayes classifiers are used to classify medical data. Then, the classified data are stored in the cloud IOT sensors. When compared to the existing methods, the proposed method gives better optimized results for SVM, KNN, and Naive Bayes of 0.88, 0.86, and 0.73, respectively. The results of cancer data extraction and feature selection are also contrasted and assessed using certain performance measure factors.

The development of e-systems has given consumers and businesses access to a plethora of information, which has complicated the process of decision making. Document classification is one of the main decisions that any business adopts in their decision making to categorize documents into groups according to their structure. In this paper, we combined multi-agent systems (MASs), which is one of the IDSS systems, with Bayesian-based classification to filter out the specialization, collaboration, and privacy of distributed business sources to produce an efficient distributed classification system. Bayesian classification made use of MAS to eliminate distributed sources' specialization and privacy. Therefore, incorporating the probabilities of various sources is a practical and swift solution to such a problem, where this method works the same when all the data are merged into a single source. Each intelligent agent can collaborate and ask for help from other intelligent agents in classifying cases that are difficult to classify locally. The results demonstrate that our proposed technique is more accurate than those of the non-communicated classification, where the results proved the ability of the utilized productive distributed classification system. Alzheimer's is one of the fast-growing diseases among people worldwide leading to brain atrophy. Neuroimaging reveals extensive information about the brain's anatomy and enables the identification of diagnostic features. Artificial intelligence (AI) in neuroimaging has the potential to significantly enhance the treatment process for Alzheimer's disease (AD). The objective of this study is two-fold: (1) to compare existing Machine Learning (ML) algorithms for the classification of AD. (2) To propose an effective ensemble-based model for the same and to perform its comparative analysis. In this study, data from the Alzheimer's Diseases Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI), an online repository, is utilized for experimentation consisting of 2125 neuroimages of Alzheimer's disease (n = 975), mild cognitive impairment (n = 538) and cognitive normal (n = 612). For classification, the framework incorporates a Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), Naïve Bayes (NB), and K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) followed by some variations of Support Vector Machine (SVM), such as SVM (RBF kernel), SVM (Polynomial Kernel), and SVM (Sigmoid kernel), as well as Gradient Boost (GB), Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGB) and Multi-layer Perceptron Neural Network (MLP-NN). Afterwards, an Ensemble Based Generic Kernel is presented where Master-Slave architecture is combined to attain better performance. The proposed model is an ensemble of Extreme Gradient Boosting, Decision Tree and SVM_Polynomial kernel (XGB + DT + SVM). At last, the proposed method is evaluated using cross-validation using statistical techniques along with other ML models. The presented ensemble model (XGB + DT + SVM) outperformed existing state-of-the-art algorithms with an accuracy of 89.77%. The efficiency of all the models was optimized using Grid-based tuning, and the results obtained after such process showed significant improvement. XGB + DT + SVM with optimized parameters outperformed all other models with an efficiency of 95.75%. The implication of the proposed ensemble-based learning approach clearly shows the best results compared to other ML models. This experimental comparative analysis improved understanding of the above-defined methods and enhanced their scope and significance in the early detection of Alzheimer's disease. In the last decade, online shopping has played a vital role in customers' approach to purchasing different products, providing convenience to shop and many benefits for the economy. E-commerce is widely used for digital media products such as movies, images, and software. So, recommendation systems are of great importance, especially in today's hectic world, which search for content that would be interesting to an individual. In this research, a new two-steps recommender system is proposed based on demographic data and user ratings on the public MovieLens datasets. In the first step, clustering on the training dataset is performed based on demographic data, grouping customers in homogeneous clusters. The clustering includes a hybrid Firefly Algorithm (FA) and K-means approach. Due to the FA's ability to avoid trapping into local optima, which resolves K-means' main pitfall, the combination of these two techniques leads to much better performance. In the next step, for each cluster, two recommender systems are proposed based on K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and Naïve Bayesian Classification. The results are evaluated based on many internal and external measures like the Davies-Bouldin index, precision, accuracy, recall, and F-measure. The results showed the effectiveness of the K-means/FA/KNN compared with other extant models.

Stunting is a global public health issue. We sought to train and evaluate machine learning (ML) classification algorithms on the Zambia Demographic Health Survey (ZDHS) dataset to predict stunting among children under the age of five in Zambia. We applied Logistic regression (LR), Random Forest (RF), SV classification (SVC), XG Boost (XgB) and Naïve Bayes (NB) algorithms to predict the probability of stunting among children under five years of age, on the 2018 ZDHS dataset. We calibrated predicted probabilities and plotted the calibration curves to compare model performance. We computed accuracy, recall, precision and F1 for each machine learning algorithm. About 2327 (34.2%) children were stunted. Thirteen of fifty-eight features were selected for inclusion in the model using random forest. Calibrating the predicted probabilities improved the performance of machine learning algorithms when evaluated using calibration curves. RF was the most accurate algorithm, with an accuracy score of 79% in the testing and 61.6% in the training data while Naïve Bayesian was the worst performing algorithm for predicting stunting among children under five in Zambia using the 2018 ZDHS dataset. Distributed Data Mining (DDM) has been proposed as a means to deal with the analysis of distributed data, where DDM discovers patterns and implements prediction based on multiple distributed data sources. However, DDM faces several problems in terms of autonomy, privacy, performance and implementation. DDM requires homogeneity regarding environment, control, administration and the classification algorithm(s), and such that requirements are too strict and inflexible in many applications. In this paper, we propose the employment of a Multi-Agent System (MAS) to be combined with DDM (MAS-DDM). MAS is a mechanism for creating goal-oriented autonomous agents within shared environments with communication and coordination facilities. We shall show that MAS-DDM is both desirable and beneficial. In MAS-DDM, agents could communicate their beliefs (calculated classification) by covering private and non-sharable data, and other agents decide whether the use of such beliefs in classifying instances and adjusting their prior assumptions about each class of data. In MAS-DDM, we will develop and use a modified Naive Bayesian algorithm because (1) Naive Bayesian has been shown to be the most used algorithm to deal with uncertain data, and (2) to show that even if all agents in MAS-DDM use the same algorithm, MAS-DDM preforms better than DDM approaches with non-communicating processes. Point (2) provide an evidence that the exchange of information between agents helps in increasing the accuracy of the classification task significantly.

Pashto scripts are cursive in nature and hard to recognize in real-time. Native speakers of the Pashto language are large in numbers and reside in different regions of the world. Due to the cursive nature of the Pashto script along with variations in character strokes, the printed, as well as handwritten characters, are difficult to be detected, classified or recognized. In real-time handwritten character recognition systems, the challenging factors that constraints the system depends on the stroke noise, geometric behavior (like rotation, scaling and shifting, etc.) of the text. In this article, we provide an efficient technique that aimed to recognize handwritten characters in real-time by first smoothing the noise components in the text and then extract shape-based invariant features from the handwritten strokes. For real-time recognition of characters, the probability-based multi-class Naïve Bayesian classifier is exploited, which determines the probabilities of geometric invariant features to predict the character with the highest likelihood. The performance of the proposed approach has been validated through extensive experiments and based on the recognition matrices, the proposed technique achieves an accuracy of 97.5% for online Pashto handwritten characters in real-time.

Nowadays, a large amount of information is stored as text, and numerous text mining techniques have been developed for various applications, such as event detection, news topic classification, public opinion detection, and sentiment analysis. Although significant progress has been achieved for short text classification, document-level text classification requires further exploration. Long documents always contain irrelevant noisy information that shelters the prominence of indicative features, limiting the interpretability of classification results. To alleviate this problem, a model called MIPELD (mining the frequent pattern of a named entity for long document classification) for long document classification is demonstrated, which mines the frequent patterns of named entities as features. Discovered patterns allow semantic generalization among documents and provide clues for verifying the results. Experiments on several datasets resulted in good accuracy and marco-F1 values, meeting the requirements for practical application. The workshop operation management (WOM) system contains a large amount of multi-source heterogeneous data, but these data often lack effective correlation, posing challenges in extracting valuable information for achieving unified system modelling at the knowledge level. Due to the lack of knowledge active support in the actual WOM system, managers could only passively rely on their own past experiences. To bridge this gap, the knowledge active push method for optimal operation management of the manufacturing cell (OOMMC) is studied based on knowledge graph (KG). Firstly, a dynamic knowledge model is established according to the knowledge application scenario of manufacturing cell, in which the Local Tangent Space Alignment (LTSA) + k-means algorithm is used for active abnormal warning. Secondly, a static knowledge model based on user needs using feature vocabulary and naive Bayesian classifier is established, where managers can obtain knowledge from the KG based on professional noun keywords or simple query questions. These two models complement and promote each other: the dynamic knowledge model using a service-based collaborative filtering method to push the nearest knowledges in the KG to users, effectively inspiring them to retrieve more relevant knowledge. While the static knowledge model evaluates the effectiveness of previously pushed knowledge by setting the knowledge demand index and providing feedback to the system to ensure accuracy of knowledge push. Banks suffer multimillion-dollars losses each year for several reasons, the most important of which is due to credit card fraud. The issue is how to cope with the challenges we face with this kind of fraud. Skewed "class imbalance" is a very important challenge that faces this kind of fraud. Therefore, in this study, we explore four data mining techniques, namely naïve Bayesian (NB),Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and Random Forest (RF), on actual credit card transactions from European cardholders. This paper offers four major contributions. First, we used under-sampling to balance the dataset because of the high imbalance class, implying skewed distribution. Second, we applied NB, SVM, KNN, and RF to under-sampled class to classify the transactions into fraudulent and genuine followed by testing the performance measures using a confusion matrix and comparing them. Third, we adopted cross-validation (CV) with 10 folds to test the accuracy of the four models with a standard deviation followed by comparing the results for all our models. Next, we examined these models against the entire dataset (skewed) using the confusion matrix and AUC (Area Under the ROC Curve) ranking measure to conclude the final results to determine which would be the best model for us to use with a particular type of fraud. The results showing the best accuracy for the NB, SVM, KNN and RF classifiers are 97,80%; 97,46%; 98,16% and 98,23%, respectively. The comparative results have been done by using four-division datasets (75:25), (90:10), (66:34) and (80:20) displayed that the RF performs better than NB, SVM, and KNN, and the results when utilizing our proposed models on the entire dataset (skewed), achieved preferable outcomes to the under-sampled dataset.

Malay Language and Indonesian Language are two closely related languages, sharing a lot in common in the meanings of words and grammar. Classifying the two languages automatically using a tool is a challenge because the two languages are very similar. The classification method that is widely used today is the Naive Bayesian method. This method needs to be implemented in a particular way to increase the level of classification accuracy. In this study, a new method was used, by using a training set in the form of words and phrases instead of just using a training set in the form of words only. With this method, the level of classification accuracy of the two languages is increased.

Abstract Diabetes is a chronic disease or group of metabolic disease where a person suffers from an extended level of blood glucose in the body, which is either the insulin production is inadequate, or because the body’s cells do not respond properly to insulin. The constant hyperglycemia of diabetes is related to long-haul harm, brokenness, and failure of various organs, particularly the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, and veins. The objective of this research is to make use of significant features, design a prediction algorithm using Machine learning and find the optimal classifier to give the closest result comparing to clinical outcomes. The proposed method aims to focus on selecting the attributes that ail in early detection of Diabetes Miletus using Predictive analysis. The result shows the decision tree algorithm and the Random forest has the highest specificity of 98.20% and 98.00%, respectively holds best for the analysis of diabetic data. Naïve Bayesian outcome states the best accuracy of 82.30%. The research also generalizes the selection of optimal features from dataset to improve the classification accuracy.

The outliers remove, the classification of effective measurements, and the weighted optimization method of the corresponding measurement are the main factors that affect the positioning accuracy based on range-based multi-target tracking in wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we develop an improved weighted least-square algorithm based on an enhanced non-naive Bayesian classifier (ENNBC) method. According to the ENNBC method, the outliers in the measurement data are removed effectively, dataset density peaks are found quickly, and remaining effective measurements are accurately classified. The ENNBC method improves the traditional direct classification method and took the dependence among continuous density attributes into account. Four common indexes of classifiers are used to evaluate the performance of the nine methods, i.e., the normal naive Bayesian, flexible naive Bayesian (FNB), the homologous model of FNB (FNBROT), support vector machine, k-means, fuzzy c-means (FCM), possibilistic c-means, possibilistic FCM, and our proposed ENNBC. The evaluation results show that ENNBC has the best performance based on the four indexes. Meanwhile, the multi-target tracking experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the root-mean-squared error of the position compared with the extended Kalman filter. In addition, the proposed algorithm has better robustness against large localization and tracking errors.

Abstract Background The common treatment for pediatric cataracts is to replace the cloudy lens with an artificial one. However, patients may suffer complications (severe lens proliferation into the visual axis and abnormal high intraocular pressure; SLPVA and AHIP) within 1 year after surgery and factors causing these complications are unknown. Methods Apriori algorithm is employed to find association rules related to complications. We use random forest (RF) and Naïve Bayesian (NB) to predict the complications with datasets preprocessed by SMOTE (synthetic minority oversampling technique). Genetic feature selection is exploited to find real features related to complications. Results Average classification accuracies in three binary classification problems are over 75%. Second, the relationship between the classification performance and the number of random forest tree is studied. Results show except for gender and age at surgery (AS); other attributes are related to complications. Except for the secondary IOL placement, operation mode, AS and area of cataracts; other attributes are related to SLPVA. Except for the gender, operation mode, and laterality; other attributes are related to the AHIP. Next, the association rules related to the complications are mined out. Then additional 50 data were used to test the performance of RF and NB, both of then obtained the accuracies of over 65% for three classification problems. Finally, we developed a webserver to assist doctors. Conclusions The postoperative complications of pediatric cataracts patients can be predicted. Then the factors related to the complications are found. Finally, the association rules that is about the complications can provide reference to doctors.

The method of text sentiment analysis based on sentiment dictionary often has the problems that the sentiment dictionary doesn't contain enough sentiment words or omits some field sentiment words. In addition, due to the existence of some polysemic sentiment words with positivity, negativity, and neutrality, the words' polarity cannot be accurately expressed, so the accuracy of text sentiment analysis is reduced to some extent. In this paper, an extended sentiment dictionary is constructed. The extended sentiment dictionary contains the basic sentiment words, the field sentiment words, and the polysemic sentiment words, which improves the accuracy of sentiment analysis. The naive Bayesian classifier is used to determine the field of the text in which the polysemic sentiment word is. Thus, the sentiment value of the polysemic sentiment word in the field is obtained. By utilizing the extended sentiment dictionary and the designed sentiment score rules, the sentiment of the text is achieved. The experimental results prove that the proposed sentiment analysis method based on extended sentiment dictionary has certain feasibility and accuracy. The research is meaningful for the sentiment recognition of the comment texts.

The speed and capacity (kg/hr) for sorting apples are two important factors that have to be taken care of post-harvest. To increase the speed and capacity of apples being sorted, a new algorithm for segmenting the region of interest from an apple fruit image and to find the percentage of defective area after sorting process has been proposed in this paper. First, the region of interest from the acquired color image of an apple fruit was segmented using the proposed global thresholding algorithm GTA. Features were extracted from the segmented image using the coefficients obtained by applying wavelet transformation using the Haar filter. Further, the Naive Bayesian classifier was applied to sort apples as defective and sound. Second, the defective area of the defective sample was segmented using the K-means algorithm and median filter. The defective area in percentage was calculated using the proposed diseased area calculation algorithm DACA to decide about the acceptance of that defective sample. The performance of the proposed GTA was compared with Otsu's and Kapur's thresholding algorithms. With less segmentation time, it was found that the Naive Bayesian classification using GTA gave a 96.67% accuracy rate than Otsu's with 65% and Kapur's with 93.33% accuracy rate. The current video coding standard HEVC has very high coding efficiency. However, its coding complexity is also very high, which leads to a negative impact on its wide applications. Therefore, how to improve the coding speed of HEVC has been a research focus recently. In this research, by applying machine learning methodology into video compression, we propose a novel fast intra coding algorithm for HEVC so as to improve the intra encoding speed. We first adopt Naive Bayesian to calculate each depth's probability based on correlations. Then, to speed up coding, we combine textural features and possibilities with support vector machine (SVM) to further predict depth early skip and early termination. Nowadays, a large amount of information is stored as text, and numerous text mining techniques have been developed for various applications, such as event detection, news topic classification, public opinion detection, and sentiment analysis. Although significant progress has been achieved for short text classification, document-level text classification requires further exploration. Long documents always contain irrelevant noisy information that shelters the prominence of indicative features, limiting the interpretability of classification results. To alleviate this problem, a model called MIPELD (mining the frequent pattern of a named entity for long document classification) for long document classification is demonstrated, which mines the frequent patterns of named entities as features. Discovered patterns allow semantic generalization among documents and provide clues for verifying the results. Experiments on several datasets resulted in good accuracy and marco-F1 values, meeting the requirements for practical application. Further analysis validated the effectiveness of MIPELD in mining interpretable information in text classification.

Naive Bayesian classifier can be used to classify news and patients, but there are few studies on the classification of educational data. Based on Naïve Bayesian algorithm. This paper studies the relationship between course achievement and employment salary. Quantitative method is adopted as research methodology. The sample data sets were collected from Personal Online Learning Networks, which consist of the Student Performance Management System and Student Employment Management System. The sample category labels were constructed and the Hold-Out method was used to divide data sets into training sets and testing sets. 15 courses' performance as feature vector and employment wage as category, if the attribute condition was independent, a Naïve Bayesian Classifier was established. The result indicating the higher the grade of DAWEB, ICT, INT and WNDW courses, the higher the employment wage. The conclusion is in accordance with the actual situation: Four courses mainly train students' comprehensive practical ability. The students who have stronger practical abilities are highly demanded by employers, hence, the higher salary will be provided. At the end, regarding the class conditional probability of P (x i = E | s = H) (Performance = E, salary = H) as the weight of courses, build a topological structure diagram of courses. A classification model based on the naïve Bayes algorithm is proposed to classify spam messages more effectively. Spam message classification models based on the naïve Bayes algorithm are constructed both for multi-classification and multi-two-classification through steps involving text preprocessing based on regular expression and feature extraction based on Jieba segmentation and the TF-IDF (term frequency-inverse document frequency) algorithm. By further comparing the classification performance against the support vector machine and random forest algorithms, the naïve Bayes algorithm based on multi-two-classification is shown to be the best. Abstract: With the development of computer technology, the old and outdated teaching cases cannot meet requirements on teaching currently. Therefore, in order to solve this problem, we need to rebuild the teaching content and teaching cases. Moreover, in the traditional classroom teaching, each student gets the same practice content, which is not pertinent. In order to solve these two problems, we propose a new method called Software Testing Computer Assistant Education (STCAE), which is based on machine learning, information retrieval, and natural language processing technology. STCAE has three steps: First, STCAE uses NLP to extract the text features from the classified bug reports in the database and to classify all the samples. Second, STCAE scores these bug reports according to the corresponding weight model. Third, STCAE updates the ratings based on the feedbacks of teachers and students on the case. In constructing STCAE, we consider the interactive, creative, pertinent, and error‐correcting capabilities thoroughly in teaching needs, overcoming the four shortcomings of traditional CAI. In addition, we build Software Testing Computer Assistant Education System (STCAES) under STCAE and introduce STCAES into daily teaching. Exudates are a common complication of diabetic retinopathy and the leading cause of blindness in the developing countries, especially in Thailand. The digital retinal images are usually interpreted visually by an expert ophthalmologist in order to diagnose exudates. However, detecting exudates in a large number of the digital retinal images is mostly manual and very expensive in expert ophthalmologist time and subject to human errors. In this research, we propose a novel retinal image analysis for detecting exudates through image preprocessing methods, i.e., histogram matching, local contrast enhancement, median filter, color space selection, and optic disc localization. Our in-depth retinal analysis indicates that the overall image quality is sensitive to the quality score. In the detection process, the exudates are detected by using naïve Bayesian classifier, support vector machine, and fuzzy C-means clustering method. Afterward, the exudates extracted from fuzzy C-means clustering are used as input to the mathematical morphology to obtain the final exudates detection quality score. Additionally, the optimal parameters of the mathematical morphology will increase the accuracy of the results from merely fuzzy C-means clustering method by 12.05%. A real estate confidence index (RECI) is used to evaluate real estate industry development, and it has become an effective and powerful measure in China’s real estate market (REM). RECI research based on big data is the new trend in finance and economics. In this article, we apply some methods of text classification to research on the construction of RECI. First, the Naïve Bayes algorithm is used to evaluate data and to classify the extent to which this measure describes confidence in the REM. Second, experiments on different perspectives are performed to probe the relationship between variables and the accuracy of the classifier. Third, we use the classifier to predict the weekly news. Lifelog is the foundation on which lifelong services and healthcare services are implemented in a smart home system. It also plays a major role in the sub-processes of the system because it acquires information about the home’s residents for home automation and entertainment. Providing personalized services to individuals by acquiring and managing this personal lifelog information has great advantages in terms of service satisfaction and effectiveness. In this paper, we implemented a personal search system based on android that collected and stored an individual’s lifelog based on nine smart phone sensors and used it to derive new meaningful information about the user. The activity recognition module for classifying the user’s behavior, the naive Bayesian method, showed an accuracy of 88.23% and the area under the ROC curve value of 0.941. We designed and implemented density-based spatial clustering method in the module for extracting the point of interest and the participants filled out a satisfaction questionnaire to evaluate the search system. The proposed system efficiently uses a large amount of lifelog data and automates the process of extracting meaningful information, associating it according to the user’s intention. Weighted extreme learning machines (WELMs) aim to find the better tradeoff between empirical and structural risks, so they obtain the good generalization performances, especially when using them to deal with the imbalance classification problems. The existing weighting strategies assign the distribution-independent weight matrices for WELMs, i.e., the weights do not consider the probabilistic information of samples. This causes that WELM strengthens the affect of outliers to some extent. In this paper, a naive Bayesian based WELM (NBWELM) is proposed, in which the weight is determined with the flexible naive Bayesian (FNB) classifier. Through calculating the posterior probability of sample, NBWELM cannot only handle the outliers effectively but also consider two different weighting information i.e., the training error in weighted regularized ELM (WRELM) and class distribution in Zong et al.'s WELM (ZWELM), synchronously. The experimental results on 45 KEEL and UCI datasets show that our proposed NBWELM can further improve the generalization capability of WELM and thus obtain a higher classification accuracy than WRELM and ZWELM. This paper proposed a model for mining the opinion with a deeper emotional implication that can assist as a supporting tool for User Acceptance Testing. The idea is to gauge the acceptance of an open-beta release version of software by initially extracting the opinion from tweets and consequently assessing finer-grained levels of emotions using a hybrid approach (lexicon + machine learning) that can quantify acceptance criteria attributes such as usability. The tool has been implemented & evaluated for supervised machine learning variants, namely Naives Bayesian, Multinomial, Gaussian and Bernoulli Naives Bayesian along with Support Vector Machine. The effectiveness of the proposed tool is presented with a sample set of tweets based on a case study and initial results demonstrate that it is a motivating technique to test the business objective of the system developed. This research focuses on developing and implementing a continuous Naïve Bayesian classifier for GEAR courses at Rio Salado Community College. Previous implementation efforts of a discrete version did not predict as well, 70%, and had deployment issues. This predictive model has higher prediction, over 90%, accuracy for both at-risk and successful students while easing interpretation and implementation. Predictive results across eleven courses and cumulative gain charts show potential improvements to be made in students' academic success by focusing on high level risk students. In order to alleviate cold-start problem the new user faced by collaborative filtering algorithm，this paper proposed a new collaborative filtering algorithm based on expanding user profile (EUPCF). The new algorithm firstly used a new weight naive Bayesian method to get local expanding of the new user's profile，and then used the expanded profile to predict and recommend for the new user，which could provide more accurate neighbor items for the to-be-predicted items. The new weighted naive Bayesian method in EUPCF did not use joint distribution and calculated posteriori probability for each condition attribute independently，which avoided the sensitive problem of sparse data faced by joint distribution. The comparative experiments on MovieLens dataset show that the proposed EUPCF algorithm has better performance on the prediction accuracy and has slight hindering effect on real-time recommendation. In view of problems of low detection rate and high false detection rate in intrusion detection method based on Bayesian or decision tree, the paper proposed an intrusion detection method based on Bayesian and decision tree. Firstly, Naive Bayesian method based on feature similarity is used to classify samples of training set and class value of each sample is updated. Then the samples are classified with Naive Bayesian method again. Those classes which contain misclassified samples are divided into some subclasses by using the attributes which were determined by information gain of decision tree, and the subclasses are operated on classification and partition. Finally, the model of combination of Bayesian and decision tree is used for intrusion detection. The experiment result showed that the detection method has higher detection rate than the method using either Bayesian or decision tree.

E-mail is one of the most popular and frequently used ways of communication due to its worldwide accessibility, relatively fast message transfer, and low sending cost. The flaws in the e-mail protocols and the increasing amount of electronic business and financial transactions directly contribute to the increase in e-mail-based threats. Email spam is one of the major problems of the today’s Internet, bringing financial damage to companies and annoying individual users. Spam emails are invading users without their consent and filling their mail boxes. They consume more network capacity as well as time in checking and deleting spam mails. The vast majority of Internet users are outspoken in their disdain for spam, although enough of them respond to commercial offers that spam remains a viable source of income to spammers. While most of the users want to do right think to avoid and get rid of spam, they need clear and simple guidelines on how to behave. In spite of all the measures taken to eliminate spam, they are not yet eradicated. Also when the counter measures are over sensitive, even legitimate emails will be eliminated. Among the approaches developed to stop spam, filtering is the one of the most important technique. Many researches in spam filtering have been centered on the more sophisticated classifier-related issues. In recent days, Machine learning for spam classification is an important research issue. The effectiveness of the proposed work is explores and identifies the use of different learning algorithms for classifying spam messages from e-mail. Text classification is a very important area in information retrieval. Text classification techniques used to classify documents into a set of predefined categories. There are several techniques and methods used to classify data and in fact there are many researches talks about English text classification. Neuraminidase (NA) is a critical enzyme in the life cycle of influenza virus, which is known as a successful paradigm in the design of anti-influenza agents. However, to date there are no classification models for the virtual screening of NA inhibitors. In this work, we built support vector machine and Naïve Bayesian models of NA inhibitors and non-inhibitors, with different ratios of active-to-inactive compounds in the training set and different molecular descriptors. Four models with sensitivity or Matthews correlation coefficients greater than 0.9 were chosen to predict the NA inhibitory activities of 15,600 compounds in our in-house database. We combined the results of four optimal models and selected 60 representative compounds to assess their NA inhibitory profiles in vitro. Nine NA inhibitors were identified, five of which were oseltamivir derivatives with large C-5 substituents exhibiting potent inhibition against H1N1 NA with $$\hbox {IC}_{50}$$ values in the range of 12.9-185.0 nM, and against H3N2 NA with $$\hbox {IC}_{50}$$ values between 18.9 and 366.1 nM. The other four active compounds belonged to novel scaffolds, with $$\hbox {IC}_{50}$$ values ranging 39.5-63.8 $$\upmu $$ M against H1N1 NA and 44.5-114.1 $$\upmu $$ M against H3N2 NA. Drug-induced eosinophilia is a potentially life-threatening adverse effect; clinical manifestations, eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome, mainly include severe skin eruption, fever, hematologic abnormalities, and organ system dysfunction. Using experimental methods to evaluate drug-induced eosinophilia is very complicated, time-consuming, and costly in the early stage of drug development. Thus, in this investigation, we established computational prediction models of drug-induced eosinophilia using SVM and naïve Bayesian approaches. For the SVM modeling, the overall prediction accuracy for the training set by means of fivefold cross-validation is 91.6 and for the external test set is 82.9 %. For the naïve Bayesian modeling, the overall prediction accuracy for the training set is 92.5 and for the external test set is 85.4 %. Moreover, some molecular descriptors and substructures considered as important for drug-induced eosinophilia were identified. Thus, we hope the prediction models of drug-induced eosinophilia built in this work should be applied to filter early-stage molecules for potential eosinophilia adverse effect, and the selected molecular descriptors and substructures of toxic compounds should be taken into consideration in the design of new candidate drugs to help medicinal chemists rationally select the chemicals with the best prospects to be effective and safe. In order to solve the problem of misclassified in the process of naive Bayesian classifier which caused by the similarity between the same feature quantities of different categories, this paper presented a simple Bayesian classification algorithm based on gravitational model. This algorithm could overcome the influence of the naive Bayesian classification algorithm, which easy to be influenced by effectively avoid noise interference,correct the prior probabilities,and could improved the accuracy of classification purposes. This paper proposed a gravitational model to describe the similarity between the feature and its category by using the square of the distance variable in the gravitational formula as the similar distance. The classification experiments of remote sensing images show that the naive Bayesian classification algorithm based on gravitational model is easy to implement, has high operability and has higher average classification accuracy. A few years back, William Turkel wrote a series of blog posts called A Naive Bayesian in the Old Bailey, which showed how one could use machine learning to extract interesting documents out of a digital archive. This tutorial is a kind of an update on that blog essay, with roughly the same data but a slightly different version of the machine learner. The idea is to show why machine learning methods are of interest to historians, as well as to present a step-by-step implementation of a supervised machine learner. This learner is then applied to the Old Bailey digital archive, which contains several centuries’ worth of transcripts of trials held at the Old Bailey in London. We will be using Python for the implementation.

In order to improve the classification speed without sacrificing the email classification accuracy seriously, a novel online spam classification method is proposed. Firstly, the conceptions of term frequency based interest sets are introduced, and emails are classified by combining term frequency based interest sets and Naïve Bayes classifier. Secondly, based on the active learning theory, a novel boundary density based email classification certainty evaluating method is proposed to select and recommend emails to users for labeling by combining the user interests. Finally, the emails which are labeled and classified with the greatest possibilities are used for retraining based on the incremental learning theory. In the experiments, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naïve Bayesian (NB) and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) classifiers are used on two corpuses:Trec2007 and Enron-spam. Comparing with six typical active learning based incremental learning methods, the proposed method greatly reduces the consuming time of email classification while guaranteeing the accuracy. An application of the naïve Bayesian classifier for selecting strong motion data in terms of the deformation probably induced on a given structural system is presented. The main differences between the proposed method and the 'standard' procedure based on the inference of a polynomial relationship between a single intensity measure and the engineering demand parameter are: the discrete description of the engineering demand parameter; the use of an array of intensity measures; the combination of the information issued from the training phase via a Bayesian formulation. Six non-linear structural systems with initial fundamental frequency of 1, 2 and 5 Hz and with different strength reduction factors are modelled. Their behaviour is described using the Takeda hysteretic model and the engineering demand parameter is expressed as the relative drift. A database of 6,373 strong motion records is built from worldwide catalogues and is described by a set of 'classical' intensity measures; it constitutes the 'training dataset' used to feed the Bayesian classifier. The structural system response is reduced to a description of three possible classes: elastic, if the induced drift is lower than the yield displacement; plastic, if the drift ranges between the yield and the ultimate drift values; fragile if the drift reaches the ultimate drift. The goal is to evaluate the conditional probability of observing a given status of the system as a function of the intensity measure array. To validate the presented methodology and evaluate its prediction capability, a blind test on a second dataset, completely disjointed from the training one, composed of 7,000 waveforms recorded in Japan, is performed. The Japanese data are classed using the probability distribution functions derived on the first data set. It is shown that, by combining several intensity measures through the likelihood product, a stable result is obtained whereby most of the data ( $$>$$ 75 %) are well classed. The degree of correlation between the intensity measure and the engineering demand parameter controls the reliability of the probability curves associated to each intensity measure.
