This study was carried out during 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons on 5 - year-old Murcott tangerine (Citrus reticulata, Blanco.) planted at 2.5 × 5 meters in sandy soil under drip irrigation system grown under Wady El-Mollak region, Sharkia Governorate, Egypt to evaluate the effect of replacement mineral Nitrogen fertilization using organic and biofertilizers on vegetative growth, yield and leaf mineral content. Trees fertilized with 75% (N) mineral + 25%(N) organic + 150 ml Em1/tree/year gained the highest values on yield, number of fruits/tree as well as cropping efficiency, leaf area, nutrients namely N, P, K, Ca and Mg. A great decline in all growth parameters, yield and leaf mineral content were recorded with using inorganic N at 100% N/tree/year or 25% (N) mineral + 75% (N) organic/tree/year either using EM1 nor without EM1. The best results with regard to growth, yield and nutritional status of Murcott tangerine trees were indicated at fertilizing trees with (500 and 600 g) N/tree/year in the first and second seasons, respectively, to increase the age of tree in the second season one, through 75 % inorganic as ammonium nitrate (33.5% N) + 25% organic as chicken manure (3 % N) + 150 ml EM1/tree/year. This study was carried out to improve Banana crop growth and productivity by planting cultivars that may be tolerant to banana diseases with high productivity and quality. Three imported cultivars (Zeef, Grand Nine, and Canary) were planted in private orchard in El Salhya District, Sharkia Govemorate, Egypt in two consecutive seasons of2016 and 2017. The results of this work indicated that Zeef and Grand Nine were significantly higher in growth parameters such as plants length and number of functional leaves than Canary. Similar results were noticed in productivity parameters where Zeef plants and Grand Nine were significantly higher than Canary such as total yield, bunch weight, bunch length, finger length and diameter, while no clear differences were found in quality components. Also the second season 2017 (the first sucker) was higher than the first one (Mother) in the three cultivars in all parameters. Also Zeef plants and Grand Nine recorded the highest value for each of antioxidants enzymes, soluble sugars and proline, this reflects that defense system in both cultivars was stronger than Canary cultivar, so they were more tolerant to diseases than Canary plants. Therefore the general evaluation showed that Zeef and Grand Nine banana cultivars are considered promising cultivars for the Egyptian conditions with high productivity and quality and tolerant to biotic and abiotic stresses. The 7S globulins (seed storage glycoprotein) isolated from soybean and chickpea seeds have the antifungal potential against the pathogenic fungus (Botrytis cinerea) causing gray mold in grapes assessing table grapes in vitro or postharvest by comparing with synthetic fungicide, Switch 62.5 WG. Conventional microbiological procedures estimated the in-vitro antifungal potential of the 7S globulins, such as linear growth curves and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Soybean-7S significantly inhibited the in-vitro growth of Botrytis cinerea by about 64.44%, 66.64%, and 76.67% when applied at 50, 100, and 200 µg/mL, respectively, followed by chickpea 7S with growth reduction of 52.22%, 54.44%, and 66.67%, respectively. The synthetic fungicide (Switch 62.5 WG) induced higher growth inhibition extents (83.33% and 86.66%) when applied at 50 and 200 µg/mL, respectively. The 7Sexposed B. cinerea displayed swollen hyphae compared with the control under scanning electron microscope examination. The 7S derived from soybean and chickpea inhibited gray mold development in table grapes when applied at 200 and 400 µg/mL for 30 days after infection with B. cinerea. The maintained disease severity was also minimal (40% and 25% for soybean-7S and chickpea-7S, respectively). An increased level of treatment (400 µg/mL) highly reduced the disease severity to only 7.5% after 30 days of storage at cold conditions for both proteins. The 7S globulin from legume seeds can be an alternative to synthetic fungicides for controlling B. cinerea as a postharvest treatment. Gray mold caused by Botrytis cinerea is the most harmful postharvest disease responsible for the degradation of strawberries. The presented study targeted the preparation of 7S globulin from pea seeds to serve as an antifungal agent against B. cinerea in vitro and on the post-harvest strawberry to extend the fruits' shelf life. The 7S globulin isolation from pea seeds and characterization employed various methods, such as SDS-PAGE, FTIR, and pH solubility curve. The molecular technique also helped confirm the identity of the causative microorganism of the gray mold disease in strawberries. Utilizing rRNA gene sequencing identified a fungal pathogen that causes gray mold as B. cinerea. The 7S globulin showed three protein bands corresponding to a/(83 KDa), a (68 KDa), and ß (60 KDa) subunits. The isoelectric point was notable at pH 5.8. The essential and non-essential amino acids occurred around 24.92% and 54.04%, respectively. The 7S globulin inhibited the mycelial growth of B. cinerea in a concentration-dependent manner. The Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) of B. cinerea subjected to 7S globulin showed swelling of both the fungal hyphae and conidia, significantly affected by the pea 7S-globulin treatment, entirely destabilizing and deforming their shape at 0.4 g/L. The 7S-globulin exposure maintained the fruit quality and stopped the strawberry's natural deterioration. Results further authenticated that 7S globulin (isolated from pea seeds) revealed effective antifungal action against B. cinerea mycelial development via a membrane-targeted mechanism. Mango (Mangifera indica L.) is Egypt's third major fruit crop. The latest study aimed to evaluate 11 foreign mango cultivars Kent, Palmar, Yasmina Rose, Shelly, Nam Doc Mai, Osten, Glenn, Sensation, Kensington Pride, Heidi, and Joa, in two successive seasons of 2018 and 2019, under Egyptian environmental conditions. The experiment comprised a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with 11 treatments and three replications to analyze the mango cultivars for floral aspects, fruit yield, its components, and fruit quality characteristics. Results indicated that cultivars Sensation and Yasmina Rose produced the highest fruit yield per tree. Cultivars Osten, Yasmina Rose, and Kent gained the maximum fruit weight. The study noted the uppermost value of fruit retention (%) for cultivars Palmar, Osten, and Joa. As for the initial fruit set, the highest value appeared in cultivars Heidi and Yasmina Rose, while cultivars Heidi and Kensington Pride revealed the highest value of fruit pulp firmness at the early stage of ripening in July. The Shelly cultivar recorded the highest percentage of pulp per fruit, while the lowest fruit fibers and total acidity percentage came from the Glenn cultivar. The fruits of Nam Doc Mai cultivar contained the highest total soluble solids and total sugar percentages, whereas fruits of the Heidi cultivar contained the highest value of vitamin C. Cultivars noted with the alternate bearing habit consisted of Kensington Pride, Palmer, and Shelly, while all other cultivars exhibited regular bearing. Mango cultivars Glenn, Nam Doc Mai, Osten, Kensington Pride, Shelly, Joa, Yasmina Rose, Sensation, Kent, Palmer, and Heidi (first mentioned, most recommended in descending order) received high recommendations for successful cultivation under the Egyptian environmental conditions based on relatively better fruit setting and quality.
