This article argues that the operational-pragmatic search for greater diagnostic reliability must consider the role played by language in psychopathological conceptualization. When conceptualizing psychopathological symptoms, the emphasis must shift from experience to reporting, which requires explicitly considering a semantics -- that is, a theory of meaning -- only presupposed. This shift in emphasis influences our understanding of the nature of the psychopathological symptom. In conclusion, stipulating sufficiency criteria for psychopathological diagnosis favors an increase in reliability in detriment of the clinical consideration of borderline cases, formally narrowing the clinical approach to psychopathology based on pragmatic operationalism. DISPLACEMENT (Psychology) , *PSYCHOANALYSIS , *DEAD , *RADICALISM , *INSCRIPTIONS - Abstract
From the original correlation in psychoanalysis between body and symptom, this paper reviews the theoretical displacement processes in Lacan's work which demonstrate and inoculate the role of jouissance in this correlation. Therefore, a problematization between body, jouissance, and symptom is opened and developed primarily through the elaborations operated in the field of jouissance. These elaborations, associated with a logical reduction of the Other (A) and the changes in the conception of the structure of language, which extend beyond the logic of the phallic significance and the Name-of-the-Father, and towards the real, determine a renewal of the problematic, thus displacing these three concepts to new configurations, as corpse, jouissance, and sinthome. The centrality of the real and all the displacements in the elaboration of the body and the symptom are inevitably founded and modified by the movements of the work, regarding the confrontation between the field of language and its possibilities and impossibilities of inscription and registration of the real of the jouissance by the letter. The dimension of the real gains here another position and radicalization of its effects in the psychoanalytic clinical practice. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

PSYCHOANALYSIS , *VIOLENCE , *AGGRESSION (Psychology) , *SELF , *MIRRORS - Abstract
Considering the dissolution of modern traditional values and the particularities of the subjective configurations engendered in Contemporary, this article proposes a theoretical reflection based on the resumption of the Lacanian psychoanalytic path concerning the formulation of the imaginary register, highlighting its link with violence and its consequences in the body. Therefore, the essential character of the mirror stage in the formation of the Self is covered, the conflicting and intrinsic relationship with the other, the theoretical distinctions between aggression and violence, the foundations of the body with which Psychoanalysis operates, and its understanding as an outcome symptomatic favored by the act. Finally, the resources that the psychoanalytic clinic can offer in this situation are outlined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) from a psychoanalytic perspective entails the questioning of the approach guided by pharmacology and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to introduce a clinical standpoint where the subject and their symptom are treated otherwise. In this case, psychoanalytic therapy offers the option of the word, the game, and other strategies for the treatment of children, where the symbolic becomes valuable since it is the privileged way to producing therapeutic effects. The direction of the treatment is applied here without attempting to normalize; nevertheless, because of the singularity of the symptom, it is possible to decipher it, regulate the drive overflow, and offer a necessary mooring for the subject. - Abstract
In this article we will develop the conception of psychoanalysis as symptom in the framework of capitalist advance, especially aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The ideology governed by capital is located at the antipodes of that sustained by the ethics of desire. Psychoanalysis counts on the uprising of the symptom, which in its formal symbolic envelope veils a Real, irreducible to mercantile logic. This generates a tension with the teleological perspectives of history, outlined in the question of the scope of capitalist discourse, the one that Lacan destined to explode. The symptom is presented as an alternative to the imperatives of the time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
At the end of the last century, the "new symptoms" appeared on the theoretical scene of psychoanalysis warning about a certain resistance to the "dialectical openness" that psychoanalysis has always recognized to any symptomatic formation. Now, it is worthwhile, in the era of the empire of neuroscience, to rescue the meaning and scope of the Freudian symptom, one of whose most important functions - the one that is emphasized - in this article, is its value as an objection to the prevailing discourse. - Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to review the concepts that make possible the clinical and ethical actions of those who are guided by the psychoanalytic theory. Freudian and Lacanian postulates are articu lated in parallel to, in the end, make a proposal that guides the analyst when facing the difficult everyday nature of the patient's demand during the consultation. The concepts of jouissance, symptom, Lustprinzip (pleasure principle), Jenseits des Lustprinzips (beyond the pleasure principle), Erinnern (remembering), Wiederholen (repeating), and Durcharbeiten (working-through) are addressed in a way that indicates a field of study for subsequent works. This article discusses the effects of the pandemic on clinical work and proposes a preliminary research based on the fundamentals of the psychoanalytic clinic. - Abstract
On the basis of semiotic considerations regarding the symptom and the psychoanalytical approach to it, the article addresses the Lacanian conception of sinthome, taking it as the fourth term that, in a semiotic square, would complete the registers of the symbolic, the imaginary, and the real, thanks to the operation of the denial of impossibility and contingency by the subject of the enunciation. By articulating these formulations with the discursive perspective of Laclau and Mouffe and Fontanille’s semiotic considerations on antagonism, we interpret the Peace Agreements achieved between antagonists as expressions of the social sinthome, shaped by the antagonists in the very process of negotiation.

Pancreatic cancer is associated with a poor prognosis. In Austria, there is hardly a difference in the statistic numbers over the past years. The recording of needs and nursing interventions should create awareness. The methodological approach of a systematic literature review was chosen and eleven studies were included. Patients often suffer from severe pain, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, appetite and gastrointestinal changes. They are faced to sever psychological challenges. One influencing factor on coping with disease is the fitness level, which needs to be consulated by the nursing expertise. In fact, the future will bring the integration of technical aids. In order to spare patients, provide them with immediate help when needed, symptom management via app or smartphone is a possibility. The well-being of pancreatic cancer patients can be positively influenced if the prerequisite of knowing symptoms and needs is met. Great suffering can be intercepted supportive and counseling conversations.

- Abstract
Even if hatred is "less easily accessible to our consent", it characterizes our times. In order to clarify the paradox --hate, civilization, feeling--, the article inquires into these concepts by combining the logic of analytical discourse and the neoliberal logic that presides over "our" fate. "Hate is a passion of being" to which it tends. But, why does being trigger hate? This analysis leads us from that which is real for the subject to the hatred of God: religious transcendence responds to the unthinkable of the subject. Moreover, if capitalist discourse rejects the ways of love, does it not likewise forclude hate? Psychoanalysis makes it possible to think a society of the "nonrelation"; it certainly reestablishes the possibility of taking stock of its own hatred, while, at the same time, opening up a space for love. - Abstract
This paper aims at showing how hysteria and other historically known corporal phenomena (witchcraft and demonic possession) can be read as expressions of a form of discourse instead of a mere clinic interpretation, not saying that such an interpretation is not possible and legitimate in some way. Hysteria discourse would express from the outside or from the inside, but always against the discourses dominant in a time and context that were possible and legitimate in some way. Hysteria discourse would express in the social in a concrete way, i.e., as a form of subversive and critical discourse whose transverse feature has been the use of the body as the privileged way of expression. Since the end of the 20th century, the phenomenon of drug addiction has been rising so intensely that it is becoming a social phenomenon. From the psychoanalytic point of view, it seems to be similar to what happened with hysteria at the end of the 19th century. How drug addiction are understood from the psychoanalytic clinic? This paper tries to answer this question by taking into account some case reports in order to carry out a conceptual analysis of the drug in relation to the symptom, this as a response to the cultural discontent, with reference to the sexual and traumatic, and in its corresponding function according to the psychic structure. It finally presents some orientations to the cure in drug addiction, in which free association and abstinence of the analyst are preserved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the causative virus for the pandemic coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). After more than one year it becomes apparent that for some patients the acute symptoms can persist for several months. Post-acute COVID-19 is defined as the persistence of symptoms and/or long-term complications beyond 4 weeks from the onset of the acute symptoms. Even though the evidence is preliminary, the prevalence in the general population is reported to range from 15 to 30%. The symptoms can be assigned to numerous organ systems and are described as very heterogenous with regards to their number, duration and severity. To this day it is not exactly known what causes the subacute and chronic manifestation of acute COVID-19. The treatment should be guided by the individual symptoms of the patients. To prevent setbacks, it is recommended to plan and monitor physical activity carefully. Athletes returning to sports with or recovered from post-acute COVID-19 require a thorough physical examination and a stepwise increase of training load to prevent long-term organ damage and a reduction in physical capacity. The aim of the scoping review is to summarize ongoing symptoms and possible causes for post-acute COVID-19 (“long-COVID”) and to classify essential aspects for post-acute COVID-19 management to regain physical fitness on the basis of current evidence. © 2021

- Abstract
Latex diagnosis (LD) is applied to optimize the natural rubber production and prevent tapping panel dryness (TPD), a physiological syndrome affecting latex production in Hevea brasiliensis. The reduced thiol content (RSH) is one of the biochemical parameters associated with the risk of TPD. However, RSH is difficult to interpret because of the influence of the environment. In order to better understand the regulation of antioxidants and to better interpret RSH, a key parameter of LD, this study analysed in latex both oxidised and reduced forms of ascorbic acid (AsA) and glutathione, and their cofactors as well as other latex diagnosis parameters in response to harvesting stress (tapping and ethephon stimulation) and TPD occurrence. The content of antioxidants in latex had a high variability among five rubber clones. The concentration in AsA was about ten times higher than GSH in laticifer, GSH accounting for about 50% of RSH. For short-term harvesting stress, RSH increased with tapping frequency and ethephon stimulation. TPD is associated with high latex viscosity and bursting of lysosomal particles called lutoids, as well as for several rubber clones with lower RSH and GSH contents. These results suggest that a high level of RSH shows the capacity of laticifer metabolism to cope with harvesting stress, while a drop in RSH is the sign of long stress related to lower metabolic activity and TPD occurrence. RSH remains an essential physiological parameter to prevent TPD when associated with reference data under low and high harvesting stress. This study paves the way to understand the role of AsA and GSH, and carry out genetic studies of antioxidants.

- Abstract
Freud was wrong to think that religion would disappear with the development of scientific knowledge. However, his own discoveries, drives and the unconscious, presuppose that a process of objectivization cannot ground itself. Religion is part of those irreducible, dark desires of the subject of drive alterations, that is, of angst. Thus, the problem of religion is not an epistemological but an ethical problem. Kant's attempt to link moral law to the unity of ends was perhaps a delusional effort to ground religion, although he established the irreversible principle according to which it is moral law that grounds religion and not the other way around. This, precisely, makes it possible to think the subject affected by angst as subject of the symptom; from this perspective, religion would become a symptomatic mode of feeling guilt and responsibility. In sum, religious experience would be an ethical experience and not a dogmatic theology or a theocratic ideology. It would arise from the drive depths of dissatisfaction and angst. - Abstract
This paper intends to address the current diagnostic issues concerning the subject's relation to drugs, considering that diagnosis in drug addiction is widely wrapped in the diagnostic platform of the chemical dependence. The intention is, therefore, regarding the psychoanalytic clinic, to position a critique of the diagnostic reason thanks to the theoretical-clinical contribution of the Freudo-Lacanian psychoanalysis. In this sense, the location of drug addiction as a new form of naming of the symptom, which implies a particular surplus jouissance, is presented as one of the main and fruitful contributions of psychoanalysis to a clinic beyond the symptomatological description. Indeed, both drug and drug addiction raise as discursive effects in the era of science, i.e., they excel in the empty space left by the ignorance of the jouissance of the body. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This article about female devastation studies the link between this form of suffering and the particularities in image and body constitution of females, considering their structural lack of an ultimate sign for sexual identification. Here, devastation is read as an inversion in body image, possibly caused by the loss of a loved one. We try to gather its marks by tracing back both concepts of Discomfort and Symptom. This article provides a construction of the case of James Joyce as a clinical case by making a review of the guidelines that Lacan emphasized in 1975-1976. Methodologically it's based on the autobiographical work about childhood and adolescence and offers a reading of the original constellation of birth, the foundational position of the subjective orientation, the effects of rejection and the singular pathos that afflicted him: the words imposed or experience of parasite language. - Abstract
This study aims to identify confluences between psychoanalysis and studies on language presented in Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein's work. In order to do so, one starts from the construction of the notion of symptom, its definition in the medical and psychiatric fields, until its demarcation in the psychoanalytical field, where the symptom is only defined by its relation to the discursive practices of the subject. When introducing the concept of language-game, Wittgenstein emphasizes the pragmatic aspect of language: the rules of use established in a particular context give meaning to a linguistic expression. If, to psychoanalysis, the symptom implies a symbolic articulation, it is in the relationship between signifiers, proper to the language game, that possibilities of signification of the subject himself are established. The modern city of New York, visited after a twenty-year absence, did not only come as a sentimental and cultural shock to the Europeanized novelist; it simply shattered his long-standing literary credos. The chaotic welter of impressions, as well as the substitution of uniform expressionless skyscrapers for the picturesque vestiges of the past under the pressure of the economic law, make the megalopolis an eminently non pictorial object and the task of the painter of life an impossible one. Since artistic composition is ruled out, the writer undertakes to capture epiphanic moments of acute perception, when a pattern of meaning suddenly looms out of the prevailing confusion, revealing the essence of the city. In order to convey the overriding impression of intense life going on, he adapts his technique to the object under observation, availing himself of all the resources provided by the materiality of language and by the capacity for compression afforded by metaphor, thus transmuting discordance into art.

BID und 100 mg/kg KGW i.m. BID bzw. Ditripentat 50 mg/kg KGW i.m. The aim of this study was to evaluate medical data from German white-tailed eagles with diagnosed lead poisoning based on clinical signs, diagnostic imaging and laboratory diagnostic findings. From August 1998 to January 2020 238 free-living H. albicilla were presented at the Small Animal Clinic of the Freie Universität Berlin. Inclusion criterion was a blood lead concentration of 0.4 ppm, typical clinical symptoms associated with lead intoxication and absence of any other clinical findings. Based on these, data of 73 free-living white-tailed eagles were included in this study. The majority of eagles originated from Brandenburg (44/73), followed by Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (14/73), Saxony (6/73), Schleswig-Holstein (4/73), Saxony-Anhalt (3/73) and Berlin (2/73). Most of the birds were found in autumn and winter months (October to March) (60/73, 82 %). The most common age group were adult white-tailed eagles (50/73, 69 %), followed by immature (17/73, 23 %) and juvenile birds (4/73, 5 %) as well as nestlings (2/73, 3 %). Female white-tailed eagles (40/73, 55 %) were presented more often than males (30/73, 41 %). Typical clinical findings could be evaluated in 72 out of 73 birds including apathy (72/72, 100 %), dyspnoea (50/72, 68 %), poor nutritional status (44/72, 60 %), biliverdinuria (35/72, 48 %), vomiting (23/72, 32 %), crop stasis (21/72, 29 %) and neurological signs (19/72, 26 %). Metal-dense fragments within the digestive tract were detected in 44 % of the birds during radiological examination (32/73). Those were most frequently located in the stomach, followed by intestines and crop. In 12 % of the white-tailed eagles, metal-dense fragments were furthermore found outside the digestive tract (4/34). Hemolysis was observed in the plasma of 62 % of all birds examined (45/73). The median blood lead concentration was 3.0 ppm (min=0.4 ppm; max=21.7 ppm). Significantly higher blood lead concentrations were found in white-tailed eagles presenting with biliverdinuria (rs=0.44; p=0.002), dyspnoea (rs=0.38; p=0.001), and metal-dense fragments located within the digestive tract (rs=0.3; p=0.009). Furthermore, higher blood lead concentrations were significantly more common in adult white-tailed eagles (rs=0.25; p=0.03) than in other age groups. Hematological examination of white-tailed eagles revealed anemia in 26 % of the birds (18/73). The greatest deviations from reference intervals in blood biochemistry parameters were observed in aspartate aminotransferase and creatine kinase activity as well as in glucose concentration. Therapeutic endoscopy was attempted in 59 % (16/27) of white-tailed eagles with metaldense fragments located in the stomach. Lead fragments were successfully retrieved in 69 % (11/16) of birds, but despite endoscopic treatment 13 of 16 white-tailed eagles died due to lead intoxication. Blood lead concentration could be continuously reduced with intramuscular administration of Ca-Na2-EDTA at 50 mg/kg BW BID, at 100 mg/kg BW BID or Ditripentate at 50 mg/kg BW SID. Overall, 79 % of the white-tailed eagles (31 females, 25 males and two unknown sex) presented died as a result of lead poisoning. Factors that significantly influenced the prognosis were the presence of dyspnoea (r=0.63; p=0.001), biliverdinuria (r=0.43; p=0.005), blood lead concentration (rs=0.36; p=0.002) as well as hemolysis (r=0.31; p=0.01). A survival tree analysis indicated that dyspnea was the most relevant factor for assessing the prognosis of white-tailed eagles with lead intoxication followed by the presence of anemia. White-tailed eagles with dypnoea had a 6 % survival rate, while the chance of survival of birds with anemia was 24 %. Postmortem liver lead concentrations of white-tailed eagles were higher than kidney lead concentrations (rs=0.8; p=0.001). 74 % (34/46) of the birds showed significantly increased liver lead concentrations while 24 % (11/46) had increased kidney lead concentrations (>8 ppm). In 86 % of the white-tailed eagles dying with blood lead concentrations of less than 1 ppm (6/9), liver lead concentrations higher than 1 ppm were detected. To the author’s knowledge this is the first study evaluating the course of lead intoxication in a larger number of white-tailed eagles. The results of this study should therefore help to better assess the prognosis of lead intoxication in this species and treat affected birds accordingly.

Introduction: About 3% of all new cancer cases affect young people between 15 and 39 years of age. Thanks to medical progress, the survival rates of AYA cancer patients have increased to over 80%. In order to achieve this goal, very intensive and often multimodal therapies such as surgery, cytostatic chemotherapy, chemoimmunotherapy or radiation are carried out. However, AYA patients often experience stress after the treatment caused by fear of a recurrence of cancer, a slow recovery process, various long-term complications as well as by sleep disturbances, difficulties when concentrating, by depressions, anxiety and fatigue. These late effects can appear as acute consequences during the first five years of treatment but also decades later. Therefore, greater demands should be placed on the AYA cancer survivors to manage their health and well-being. Nurses can play a key role here by providing information and promoting the self-management of AYA cancer patients. Methodology: The content of this paper is based on online literature, which was collected by systematically researching literature with the help of databases such as SpringerLink, Cochrane Library, CINAHL, etc., as well as using the library of the FH Campus Wien. In order to answer the research questions, several books were consulted and articles evaluated. The results of the studies included in this paper were only used after carefully checking their content for relevance. Results: The studies used show that self-management can improve the quality of life of AYA cancer patients and at the same time influence the short- and long-term effects of cancer treatment in a positive way. AYA cancer survivors want to learn more about possible self-management possibilities in order to be able to participate actively in their treatment. The self-management strategies of AYA cancer survivors focus primarily on a healthy lifestyle, but also on decisions concerning medication and dosage, on engaging in physical activities and on reducing the consumption of cigarettes or alcohol. The use of electronic health interventions (e-health) enables AYA survivors to handle the impact of symptoms more efficiently and to participate in post-cancer therapies more consciously. In order to achieve this caregivers take on the roles of "supporters", "coordinators" “counsellors” and “advocates”. Conclusion: Self-management strategies are diverse and individual, and include all measures that AYA cancer patients can use to handle symptoms or problems caused by the disease itself or by therapies. Self-management concepts are based on three pillars: first on imparting knowledge about the disease and its treatment, secondly on the training of coping skills and thirdly on the treatment motivation. Learning and developing self-management skills is an iterative process and should be specifically supported by caregivers.

N view of the evolution of the history of music, we can see that the art lies in a socio-cultural context and the artist in a particular social bond. From sacred music to secular music, writing and playing music become a way of entertaining and expressing feelings in the so-called romantic period. Today, researchers are proposing the possibility of restoring the brain through music. After presenting neuromusicotherapy, music therapy and their limits, our work will consist in articulating, through a Lacanian psychoanalytic reading, this form of expression and creation with the existence of a subject. With the symptom and the real as a compass, we will focus on the function of musical creation for Robert Schumann. Our hypothesis will contribute to the melancholy clinic.

- Abstract
The article pursues three objectives. On the one hand, it sheds light on the close relation between the comic and death, and, on the other, it situates the link between humor and the super-ego in order to explore a possible effect of the "humorist" label. On this basis, it finally suggests a hypothesis regarding the end of analysis in terms of the notion of "identification with the symptom". [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
This paper is part of an ongoing thesis of the Master's Degree at the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Buenos Aires. The reflection on the use of the knots in the autism clinic is one of the most interesting contributions of this work. Lacan's teaching between 1974-1976 is the base of this study, in which he addresses the Borromean knot in the passage from the triadic to the tetradic knot with the naming function as starting point, to arrive with the logic of knots to autism, characterized by the foreclosure of the gap. The development of the concept of naming as effects is essential to understand the approach of this paper. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
At the end of the last century, the “new symptoms” appeared on the theoretical scene of psychoanalysis warning about a certain resistance to the “dialectical openness” that psychoanalysis has always recognized to any symptomatic formation. Now, it is worthwhile, in the era of the empire of neuroscience, to rescue the meaning and scope of the Freudian symptom, one of whose most important functions - the one that is emphasized - in this article, is its value as an objection to the prevailing discourse., A finales del siglo pasado, los “nuevos síntomas” aparecieron en la escena teórica del psicoanálisis advirtiendo acerca de una cierta resistencia a la “apertura dialéctica” que el psicoanálisis siempre reconoció a toda formación sintomática.
