This article about female devastation studies the link between this form of suffering and the particularities in image and body constitution of females, considering their structural lack of an ultimate sign for sexual identification. Here, devastation is read as an inversion in body image, possibly caused by the loss of a loved one. We try to gather its marks by tracing back both concepts of Discomfort and Symptom.
