A infestação de capim-annoni (Eragrostis plana Ness) nas áreas de pastejo em campo nativo ameaça a preservação do Bioma Pampa e a atividade pecuária no Rio Grande do Sul (RS). O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência de tratamentos de adubação e calagem sobre a competitividade de espécies forrageiras do campo nativo com o capim-annoni, em área infestada pela invasora. Foi realizado um experimento em área de campo nativo infestada com capim-annoni no Centro de Pesquisa do DDPA/SEAPDR em Viamão – RS, sem uso de herbívoros domésticos, para avaliação do efeito dos tratamentos sem interferência do pastejo seletivo. Foram avaliados quatro tratamentos: T0 - sem adubação e calagem; T1 - apenas calagem; T2 - com adubação (nitrogênio, fósforo e potássio) e calagem; T3 - adubação com o dobro da dose de fósforo, mais potássio e calagem. Foram acompanhadas a evolução da composição botânica e o desenvolvimento das espécies do campo nativo e do capim-annoni por dois anos, através da avaliação da cobertura vegetal do solo e da produção de massa seca, como também as modificações da fertilidade do solo. Os resultados de produção de massa seca mostraram que a adubação nitrogenada do tratamento T2 beneficiou o crescimento do campo nativo e desfavoreceu o capim-annoni. Com a adubação nitrogenada do tratamento T2, espécies de gramíneas cespitosas do campo nativo atingiram maior altura e provavelmente competiram com o capim-annoni por meio de sombreamento, resultando na redução do crescimento da invasora.

Background: The use of photobiomodulation can be effective in the healing of tissues, highlighting the use of LED in tissue repair. Was evaluated the effect of 627 nm wavelength LED irradiation on VEGF-α and TGF-β1 expressions in a model of secondary intention wound healing. Methods: The evaluations were performed using a dorsal puncture model and the sample consisted of 120 Wistar rats, randomly divided into LED groups submitted to 3, 7, 14 and 21 irradiation treatment for 100 s, 7 J / cm2, and control groups. Histological analysis, immunohistochemistry and contraction of the lesion were performed. Results: LED irradiation led to effective wound regeneration results. Similar effects were obtained with vascular, exudative, and proliferative phenomena. VEGF and TGF-β1 levels were increased in LED-treated groups with initial treatments. Collagen analysis revealed that LED-treated groups levels were increased on days 14- and 21 of the treatments. An acceleration in tissue regeneration was observed in LED treated groups. Macroscopically visible results showing a complete healing process was evident after 14 days of treatment. Conclusion: 627 nm LED irradiation effectively accelerated wound healing leading complete closure of the skin in a shorter time compared to control group.

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) was defined as a neurodegenerative disorder, being more affected in the elderly. It is estimated that every 3.2 seconds a person in the world is affected by the high disease that rate in 2050 to 1 second. Therefore, research has been carried out on new therapeutic approaches, such as Transcranial Photobiomodulation and treatment based on antioxidants, such as Resveratrol. Therefore, the objective is to conduct a literature review on these two approaches and their effects on the treatment of AD. It was carried out according to the PRISMA recommendation and the articles were selected according to the years of publication (between 2015 and 2020) and extracted from the following databases: Science Direct, PubMed PMC, Scopus, PubMed NCBI, SciELO, LILACS, MEDLINE and PEDro. In several studies it has been reported that both therapies provide improvements at the molecular and behavioral level, recovering brain functions, acting in a neuroprotective way, improving quality of life, with few adverse effects and in a less invasive way. Thus, both treatments have numerous benefits that can be useful in the treatment of AD. However, there is a need for further research that includes interventions with greater specificity and control, so that they are defined as ideal doses and treatment protocols.

The objective of this work was to determine aspects about growth variables and dry mass partition of Khaya senegalensis seedlings and the nutrient absorption rate, depending on the seasons and mineral fertilization. The experimental design used was completely randomized, in a 2x6 factorial scheme. Two levels of nutrient solution factor (without addition) and six levels of time factor (0; 60; 80; 100; 120 and 140 days). Four replications were used, each one consisting of 10 seedlings. To evaluate the quality of the seedlings, morphological parameters, relationships and quality indexes were considered: Height (H; cm); collar diameter (CD; mm); shoot dry mass (SDM; g plant-1); dry root mass (DRM; g plant-1); total dry mass (TDM = SDW + RDW; g plant-1); shoot dry mass and root dry mass ratio (SDM/DRM); robustness index (RI = H / DC; cm mm -1); the Dickson quality index (DQI) and the accumulation of macronutrients in the shoots and root system. It is recommended to add solution for seedlings of Khaya senegalensis from 100 days after transplanting in the selected nursery in the Amazon. The maintenance of Khaya senegalensis seedlings with the use of the nutrient solution provides the best conditions for the use of macronutrients and obtaining suitable seedlings for the field in 140 days after transplanting in the selected nursery in Roraima. Resumo O objetivo neste trabalho foi determinar aspectos sobre variáveis de crescimento e partição de massa seca das mudas de Khaya senegalensis, bem como a marcha de absorção de nutrientes, em função das épocas e adubação mineral. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 2 x 6. Dois níveis do fator solução nutritiva (sem e com adição) e seis níveis para o fator período (0; 60; 80; 100; 120 e 140 dias). Foram utilizadas 4 repetições, sendo cada uma delas composta de 10 mudas. Para avaliação da qualidade das mudas, consideraram-se os parâmetros morfológicos, relações e índices de qualidade: altura da parte aérea (H; cm); diâmetro do coleto (DC; mm); massa seca da parte aérea (MSPA; g planta-1); massa seca da raiz (MSR; g planta-1); massa seca total (MST = MSPA + MSR; g planta-1); relação massa seca da parte aérea e massa seca da raiz (MSPA/MSR); índice de robustez (IR= H/DC; cm mm-1); e índice de qualidade de Dickson (IQD) e o acúmulo de macronutrientes na parte aérea e sistemaradicular. A adição de solução é recomendada para mudas de Khaya senegalensis a partir da época 100 dias após o transplantio em viveiro de telado na Amazônia setentrional. A manutenção das mudas de Khaya senegalensis com uso de solução nutritiva proporciona as melhores condições para o aproveitamento dos macronutrientes e permite obter mudas aptas para campo em 140 dias após o transplantio em viveiro de telado em Roraima.

PALAVRAS-CHAVE Mogno africano Nutricao florestal Solucao nutritiva ABSTRACT: Due to the shortage of information on both mineral fertilizer and organic substrate in Khaya senegalensis, it was proposed in the current study to verify the potential of the use or not of addition of nutrient solution in the production of high quality seedlings of K. senegalensis as well as to obtain the total accumulation of macro and micronutrients in the seedlings. The experimental design was completely randomized in a factorial 2x6, being the first factor constituted by the presence and nutritious solution absence of and the second factor for times evaluation (0, 60, 80, 100, 120 and 140 days after transplanting) repetitions with four seedlings. The following growth traits (height, stem diameter and shoot and root dry mass) and seedling quality parameters (total dry mass and Dickson quality index). The addition of nutrient solution supported the increase of the determined morphological characteristics of the seedlings of K. senegalensis as well as the total accumulation of macro and micronutrients. The nutrient solution modifies the absorption dynamics of nutrients in K. senegalensis and the amount absorbed at 140 days after transplantation obeys according to the order: N>K>P>Ca>S>Mg> Fe>B>Mn>Zn>Cu.

Com a crescente evolução tecnológica dos materiais empregados na construção civil, como o concreto estrutural, que hoje atinge resistências características bastante superiores àquelas utilizadas tradicionalmente pelos projetistas, surge a necessidade de atualização da literatura técnica que fundamenta o tema. Em 2014, a norma brasileira que regulamenta os procedimentos para projeto de estruturas de concreto armado, NBR 6118:2014, passou a incluir os concretos de alta resistência, com resistência característica à compressão simples superior a 50 MPa. Isto posto, o presente estudo objetivou analisar a confiabilidade no projeto de pilares de concreto armado conforme a referida norma. Para tal, foi desenvolvido um modelo de elementos finitos para a análise de pilares de concreto armado através do software ANSYS, sendo o comportamento não-linear do concreto representado através da ferramenta de customização UPF (User Programmable Features), que possibilita a introdução de um novo modelo constitutivo de material programado pelo usuário ao sistema. Este modelo foi representado por uma rotina de cálculo externa, estruturada em linguagem FORTRAN, e teve como base as equações constitutivas apresentadas no Código Modelo fib 2010. Para a validação deste modelo numérico, foram reproduzidas as condições de ensaios experimentais envolvendo pilares de concreto armado. Finalmente, foram modelados pilares projetados de acordo com a norma brasileira, submetidos à flexo compressão normal e oblíqua e, a partir da aplicação do Método de Monte Carlo, através da ferramenta Probabilistic Design do ANSYS, foram determinados os índices de confiabilidade de cada caso, bem como a influência dos diversos parâmetros de projeto nestes índices. Em relação aos pilares submetidos a flexo-compressão normal, a grande maioria apresentou resultados satisfatórios em termos de confiabilidade estrutural, entretanto, tratando-se dos pilares em flexo-compressão oblíqua, quase metade dos projetos não atingiram os índices de confiabilidade alvo estabelecidos neste estudo. With the increasing technological evolution of the materials used in civil construction, such as structural concrete, which nowadays much higher compressive strenghts than tthose traditionally used by structural designers, there is a need to update the technical literature that underlies the theme. In 2014, the Brazilian standard that regulates the procedures for the design of concrete armament structures, NBR 6118: 2014, introduced considerations concerning high strenght concretes, with compressive strenght above 50 MPa. Therefore, the present study aimed to analyze the reliability of the design of reinforced concrete columns according to the guidelines presented in the mentioned standard. For this, a finite element model was developed for the analysis of reinforced concrete columns through the software ANSYS, with the nonlinear behavior of concrete represented by the software customization tool named UPF (User Programmable Features), which allows the introduction of a new material constitutive model programmed by the user to the main system. This model was represented by an external calculation routine, structured in FORTRAN language, and was based on the constitutive equations presented in fib Model Code 2010. For the validation and calibration of this numerical model, the conditions of experimental tests involving reinforced concrete columns have been reproduced. Finally, models have been created to represent columns designed according to the guidelines of the Brazilian Standard NBR 6118:2014, submitted to normal and oblique flexioncompression and, through the application of the Monte Carlo method using the Probabilistic Design tool of ANSYS, the reliability indexes for each design were determined such as the influence of the various design parameters in these indices. Regarding the abutments submitted to normal flexion-compression, the great majority presented satisfactory results in terms of structural reliability, however, in the case of oblique flexion-compression abutments, almost half of the projects didn't achieve the target reliability indices established in this study.

Os objetivos deste artigo foram estudar a fenologia, a estrutura populacional e a produção de frutos e sementes em castanhais nativos de Roraima, além de caracterizar as comunidades extrativistas e o sistema de extração praticado nesta região da Amazônia. A caracterização do extrativismo foi realizada com base na aplicação de questionários e painéis técnicos, que se iniciaram em 2005 e finalizaram em 2010. A estrutura, produção e fenologia dos castanhais foram avaliadas em parcelas permanentes instaladas entre os anos de 2005 a 2008 nos municípios de Caracaraí e São João da Baliza. A extração de castanha-do-brasil representa significativo retorno financeiro para as famílias de ribeirinhos e indígenas de baixa renda no sul do estado de Roraima, porém é praticada com baixa organização social, pouco apoio governamental e sem nenhum controle sobre os processos que podem levar à contaminação das castanhas por aflatoxinas. A densidade e a produtividade dos castanhais estão dentro do esperado para a Amazônia. Nesta região, a castanheira-do-brasil floresce predominantemente na estação seca, com duração de cinco a seis meses. A dispersão dos frutos ocorre durante a estação chuvosa, com pico nos meses de abril a junho.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior O aumento da demanda por madeira e a exploração das florestas nativas coloca em risco a extinção de várias espécies vegetais de grande valor. Neste sentido tem crescido a utilização de espécies exóticas, especialmente no hemisfério sul, em países de clima tropical e subtropical e em especial na região Amazônica com o uso do mogno africano. Com isso, existe elevada demanda por métodos de propagação dessas espécies que garantam as características superiores da planta matriz. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a eficiência de diferentes concentrações de ácido indolbultírico (AIB), tipo de estaca e substrato no enraizamento de estacas de Khaya ivorensis A. Chev e Khaya senegalensis A. Juss, em câmara de subirrigação e casa de vegetação e testar diferentes métodos de enxertia para propagação vegetativa de mogno africano. Na propagação vegetativa via estaquia foram testados o uso de diversas concentrações de AIB, diferentes tempos de imersão, procedência e tipos de estacas. Via enxertia foram testados quatro tipos de enxertia de mogno africano sob mogno africano. Foram realizadas as enxertias do tipo Fenda Cheia (FC), Fenda Lateral (FL), Inglês Complicado (IC) e Borbulhia de placa (BP). Foi possível observar nos experimentos de estaquia uma tendência a melhores percentuais de enraizamento e maior percentual de sobrevivência das estacas utilizando concentração de 800 mg.L-1 de AIB, principalmente em estacas foliares apicais. As estacas enraizadas apresentaram sistema radicular vigoroso com comprimentos de até 53 cm. A técnica de enxertia que apresentou os melhores resultados foi a do tipo FC com 16,67% de pegamento e os enxertos desenvolvendo-se de forma vigorosa alcançando até 27 cm em 30 dias. The increasing demand for wood and the exploitation of native forests endangers the extinction of high value plant specimens. Therefore, exotic species are being used, on the south hemisphere, in tropical and sub-tropical countries and especially in the Amazon Region with the African mahoganies. Along with this, there has been an increasing demand on methods of vegetative propagation of these species that guarantee the superior attributes of the stock plant. Thereby, the aim of this study was to test the efficiency of different indole-butyric acid (IBA) concentrations, cut of kind and substrate on cuttings of Khaya ivorensis and Khaya senegalensis in non-mist propagators and greenhouses and test different methods of grafting for vegetative propagation of African mahogany. In the cuttings experiments different auxin concentrations were tested as well as different immersion times, proveniences of the cuttings and types of cuttings. For the grafting, four methods were tested using African mahogany below the same species. The methods used were Saddle graft (SG), Side-veener graft (SV), Whip and tongue grafts (WT) and Patch budding (PB). It was possible to observe that there was a tendency to reach better results in rooting percentage and survival percentage using the concentration of 800 mg.L-1 of IBA in cuttings especially the apical leaf cuttings. The rooted cuttings grew with vigor and achieved 53 cm length. The grafting method with bests results was SV with 16,67% success and grafts developed vigorously reaching 27 cm in 30 days.
