Abstract

This study presents a novel composite nanofiber membrane combining polyacrylonitrile/polyvinylidene fluoride (PAN/PVDF) electrospun nanofibers with locally sourced zeolite from Sumatera, Indonesia, for pollutant dye filtration. The Ze-PAN/PVDF composite nanofiber membrane has 100% methylene blue dye rejection even after five filtration cycles with a permeation flux of 185 L m−2 h−1 bar−1. The membrane is highly selective, with 100% dye filtration efficiency for cationic dyes (i.e., methylene blue and crystal violet) vs. 78% and 1% for anionic dyes (i.e., Congo red and methyl orange, respectively). For the cationic dyes, the dye filtration mechanism is mainly governed by electrostatic attraction, while the size exclusion mechanism becomes more dominant for the anionic dyes. Overall, these results demonstrate the potential use of Ze-PAN/PVDF composite nanofiber membrane in wastewater treatment applications.

Abstract

The discharge of synthetic dyes into water bodies poses severe environmental risks due to their toxic and recalcitrant nature. This study explores the enhancement of photocatalytic properties of cerium dioxide (CeO2) nanorods by doping with lanthanum (La) to improve their efficacy in degrading aqueous solutions of Congo red dye. The CeO2 nanorods were synthesized via a hydrothermal method and subsequently doped with varying concentrations of La. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images confirmed the rod-like structures (nanorods) were observed for all samples, while the energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) confirmed the homogeneous incorporation of La into the CeO2 matrix. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectra demonstrate lattice distortion due to substitutional defect. Photocatalytic experiments revealed that La-doped CeO2 nanorods exhibited significantly enhanced degradation capabilities compared to undoped counterparts, achieving up to a 3-fold photocatalytic kinetics ((30 ± 2) × 10−3 min−1) compared to the undoped counterparts ((11.5 ± 0.4) × 10−3 min−1). Influence of various parameters that affect the photocatalysis performance (i.e., contact time, initial dye concentration, catalyst dosage, and dye solution pH value) were also investigated. Radical scavenger experiments reveal that superoxide radicals play a dominant role in the photocatalytic process. Collectively, these findings confirm that the strategic incorporation of lanthanum into CeO2 nanorods not only enhances their overall photocatalytic efficiency but also tailors their activity towards specific pollutants through radical-mediated pathways.

Abstract

This work presents the development of hierarchical niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5)-based composite nanofiber membranes for integrated adsorption and photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue (MB) pollutants from aqueous solutions. The Nb2O5 nanorods were vertically grown using a hydrothermal process on a base electrospun nanofibrous membrane made of polyacrylonitrile/polyvinylidene fluoride/ammonium niobate (V) oxalate hydrate (Nb2O5@PAN/PVDF/ANO). They were characterized using field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. These composite nanofibers possessed a narrow optical bandgap energy of 3.31 ​eV and demonstrated an MB degradation efficiency of 96 ​% after 480 ​min contact time. The pseudo-first-order kinetic study was also conducted, in which Nb2O5@PAN/PVDF/ANO nanofibers have kinetic constant values of 1.29 ​× ​10−2 ​min−1 and 0.30 ​× ​10−2 ​min−1 for adsorption and photocatalytic degradation of MB aqueous solutions, respectively. These values are 17.7 and 7.8 times greater than those of PAN/PVDF/ANO nanofibers without Nb2O5 nanostructures. Besides their outstanding photocatalytic performance, the developed membrane materials exhibit advantageous characteristics in recycling, which subsequently widen their practical use in environmental remediation applications.

4. Global cross-sectional survey on higher education institutions: Analysing the assessment of instrument for evaluating academic expertise on teaching, research and community service.

Abstract

Globally, the discussion on expertise assessment in higher education institutions has long been a topic in academic literature. However, there is currently no specific measure of academic expertise based on the roles of academics in carrying out their core functions, such as teaching, research, and community service. A recent literature review proposed twenty-nine academic expertise criteria in assessing the three academic tasks. The present study conducted a validity test of these proposed criteria by employing exploratory factor analysis and principal axis factoring. The study sample comprised three hundred and thirty-one respondents, who were gathered through a worldwide survey. The results indicate that the division of the three academic functions is shown in the final model of the measure. This model consists of three factors, each encompassing various indicators of teaching, research, and community service. The study contributes to the validitation of the academic expertise criteria, which can be further used in developing the expertise scale adjusted to higher education institutions. 6. Anthocyanins Absorption of Grapes (Vitis vinifera) on Filter Paper, Whatmann no. 41 and Whatmann no. 42 for Identification of Borax

Abstract

Borax detection can be done using the flame test method, volumetric titration, spectrophotometric analysis, and qualitatively using natural materials such as curcumin and anthocyanins. Acid-base titrations have the potential to utilize the high content of anthocyanins in grapes as an indicator of natural acid-base. The research objective was to determine the potential of anthocyanins in the flesh and skin of grapes in detecting natural borax, which is absorbed on filter paper, Whatmann paper no. 41, and Whatmann paper no. 42. We then tested it on meatball samples from five vendors in Samarinda Seberang and Mangkupalas village. The research method used is a quantitative analysis of the color changes that occur. Based on the research results, filter paper can have better absorption, as shown by the dark color on Whatman No. 41 and 42. Grape skin extract can detect borax more clearly than flesh by forming a dark purple ring when reacted with borax. In testing using meatball samples, the overall results of the samples contained borax. Abstract

Sanitasi lingkungan merupakan kondisi lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat. Salah satunya adalah lingkungan fisik pemukiman meliputi pencahayaan, suhu dan kelembaban. Hal Ini merupakan usaha preventif dalam upaya pencegahan penyakit. Kecamatan Muara Bengkal Ilir, Kalimantan Timur merupakan wilayah kerja Klinik Sentral MBE milik PT. Talen Prima Sawit. Kondisi masyarakat di daerah ini masih kurang informasi tentang sanitasi lingkungan dan Kesehatan. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah mengetahui penyakit yang sering muncul dan pengukuran inspeksi sanitasi pemukiman serta pendampingan ke pasien. Metode yang digunakan melalui beberapa tahap, pertama pencarian data penyakit yang sering muncul di Klinik Sentral MBE; kedua wawancara pasien dan penelusuran tempat tinggal pasien; ketiga melakukan pendampingan ke pasien dan pengukuran inspeksi sanitasi pemukiman untuk parameter pencahayaan, suhu dan kelembaban di ruang tamu, ruang tidur dan dapur. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah penyakit yang sering muncul di wilayah kerja Klinik Sentral MBE adalah ISPA sebesar 53%. Sanitasi pemukiman untuk parameter lingkungan fisik terutama pencahayaan masih memenuhi standar, suhu memenuhi standar kecuali dapur memiliki suhu lebih tinggi dan kelembaban tidak memenuhi syarat kesehatan berdasar Permenkes. Ventilasi dan jendela yang jarang dibuka mempengaruhi pencahayaan, suhu dan kelembaban di dalam ruangan. Suhu dan kelembaban tertinggi terjadi di dapur, dimana di dapur tidak ada ventilasi. Kondisi ini yang menjadi salah satu faktor kejadian ISPA di masyarakat.&nbsp

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, almost all businesses experienced difficulties. But not all businesses experience difficulties. Cosmetics is a product category that still exists during the pandemic. Many customers buy cosmetics through online sales. Devi Cosmetics is a trading business which is engaged in selling cosmetics. Due to the large number of sales transactions recorded in the neglected database, it is difficult for business managers to find out which cosmetic products are in high demand by customers and make it difficult for business managers to determine the inventory of cosmetic goods correctly. Determination of the incorrect supply of cosmetics resulted in the loss of the store manager, namely many customers who canceled buying cosmetics due to empty supplies. This study uses the K-Means algorithm to classify sales of cosmetic goods. To find out the best grouping results, it is necessary to compare several distance calculation methods. The distance calculation method here uses three methods, namely Euclidean Distance, Camberra Distance, and Chebychev Distance by finding the DBI value of the three methods. The smallest DBI value is the chebychev distance calculation method with a DBI value = 0.254.

Abstract

Gold is a type of precious metal that can maintain value and can be used for exchange. Gold has attractive properties, so many people like to buy gold for jewelry and also for investments that can be resold when they need money quickly. During the COVID-19 pandemic, some sales sectors experienced a decline but gold was still selling well. M. Siregar Gold Shop serves gold jewelry sales. Gold jewelery sales transactions at the M. Siregar gold shop are stored in the database. Every day the transaction data is increasing, so the data is getting more and more. From the mountains of data we can dig up information or generate knowledge. M. Siregar's gold shop has difficulty in knowing the type of gold that is selling well, making it difficult for gold shop owners to determine the right gold supply. This study aims to classify gold sales at the M. Sisregar gold shop so that it is known which types of gold are selling well. This grouping uses the K-Medoids method with the calculation of the distance between the Chebychec distance and the Manhanttan distance. The data is taken from the sales of gold at the M. Siregar store from November 2021 to March 2022. To produce an optimal grouping, this grouping is tested with several number of clusters by calculating the distance between Chebycev distance and Manhattan distance by calculating the DBI value of each number of clusters. . The result of the optimal grouping of gold sales is the K-Medoids method with the calculation of the Chebycev distance with the number of clusters = 2 with DBI value = 0.024.ns.

Kandungan antosianin di dalam anggur yang cukup tinggi memiliki potensi pemanfaatan dalam titrasi asam basa sebagai indikator asam basa alami. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui potensi antosianin pada daging dan kulit buah anggur dalam mendeteksi boraks secara alami yang diabsorpsikan pada kertas saring biasa, kertas Whatmann no. 41 dan kertas Whatmann no.42. Kemudian diujicobakan pada sampel pentol bakso dari 5 penjual yang berada di sekitar Samarinda Seberang hingga ke Mangkupalas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis secara kuantitatif perubahan warna yang terjadi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian kertas saring bisa memiliki daya absorbsi yang lebih baik ditandai dengan warna yang pekat dibandingkan Whatmann no. 41 dan Whatmann no.42. Ekstrak kulit anggur dapat mendeteksi boraks lebih jelas dibandingkan dengan buah anggurnya dengan terbentuknya cincin berwarna ungu tua jika direaksikan dengan boraks. Pada pengujian menggunakan sampel pentol bakso dari 5 penjual, diperoleh hasil keseluruhan sampel menggandung boraks. Disimpulkan bahwa kertas saring dari absorbsi antosianin kulit anggur dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif dalam menguji kandungan boraks pada makanan secara kuantitatif.

The crime of burglary vehicle accompanied also by forgery vehicle registration certificate of vehicle number.For it, needed CRITING BADOT (Car Security System Monitoring Based On Stnk), an apparatus capable of preventing motor vehicle theft by means of technology RFID and SMS Gateway, blends the ignition and vehicle registration into a single entity, change the key of the car being contact id card, capable of being on the monitoring of the position the car.This tool requires the driver to be always bring vehicle registration wherever, because the vehicle registration was also serves as the ignition.The prototype CRITTING BADOT use RFID, Arduino Mega 2560 , 4x4 Keypad, GPS module, GSM module coupled be a system of that runs well.RFID used to read id of vehicle registration to turn a valve gasoline and keypad serves to enter password as well as turn the stater relay.When the existence of acts of theft with breaking into the door, then with the same time GPS going to read the position of the car and send data in the form of the point GPS coordinates using SMS Gateway to the cell phone number owners who have determined.This system having the difference reading GPS with google maps an average of 3,678 meters and reading tag RFID maximum 4,5 cm. Kejahatan pencurian kendaraan disertai juga dengan pemalsuan STNK (Surat Tanda Nomor Kendaraan). Untuk itu, dibutuhkanlah CRITING BADOT (Car Security System Monitoring Based on STNK), suatu alat yang mampu mencegah pencurian kendaraan bermotor dengan menggunakan teknologi RFID dan SMS Gateway, mengefisiensikan kunci kontak dan STNK menjadi satu kesatuan, mengubah kunci kontak mobil menjadi ID Card, mampu memonitoring posisi mobil. Alat ini mengharuskan pengemudi agar selalu membawa STNK kemana pun, karena STNK tersebut juga berfungsi sebagai kunci kontak. Prototipe CRITTING BADOT menggunakan RFID, Arduino Mega 2560, Keypad 4x4. Modul GPS, Modul GSM yang dipadukan menjadi sistem yang berjalan dengan baik. RFID berfungsi membaca ID dari STNK untuk mengaktifkan katup bensin dan keypad berfungsi untuk memasukkan password serta mengaktifkan relay stater. Ketika adanya tindak pencurian dengan membobol pintu, maka dengan waktu bersamaan GPS akan membaca posisi mobil dan mengirim data GPS berupa titik koordinat menggunakan SMS Gateway kepada nomor ponsel pemilik yang telah ditentukan. Sistem ini memiliki selisih pembacaan GPS dengan google maps rata-rata sebesar 3,678 Meter dan pembacaan tag RFID maksimal 4,5 CM.

Pengaruh Penggunaan Elektroda Pure Tungsten untuk Pengelasan GTAW dengan Variasi Arus dan Debit Aliran Gas Pelindung Argon Terhadap Kekuatan Tarik Hasil Pengelasan Aluminium Seri 2000. Skripsi Jurusan Teknik Mesin Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Malang Pembimbing (1) Drs. H. Sunomo M.Pd (2) Drs. Imam Sudjono M.T Kata Kunci Tungsten Inert Gas Aluminium GTAW Kekuatan Tarik. Pengelasan merupakan sebuah proses penyambungan dua atau lebih logam yang banyak diaplikasikan dalam dunia industri. Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) adalah suatu proses pengelasan dengan menggunakan gas pelindung argon untuk mencegah terjadinya oksidasi pada logam pada saat pengelasan. Untuk menghasilkan busur nyala digunakan elektroda yang tidak terkonsumsi terbuat dari logam tungsten atau paduannya yang memiliki titik lebur sangat tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kekuatan tarik pada pengaruh arus pengelasan dan debit aliran gas pelindung argon pada hasil pengelasan GTAW terhadap kekuatan tarik aluminium seri 2000. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan mengetahui sebab dan akibat berdasarkan perlakuan yang diberikan oleh peneliti. Pada penelitian ini perlakuan yang diberikan oleh peneliti adalah pengelasan dengan variasi arus pengelasan dan debit aliran gas pelindung argon. Pengelasan dilakukan dengan metode GTAW pada bahan aluminium seri 2000 dengan bahan pengisi tipe ER5356 menggunakan arus 80 A 100 A 120 A dengan argon 6 l/m 8 l/m kampuh V tunggal 60o. Kemudian diuji dengan menggunakan uji tarik. Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Berdasarkan nilai yang diperoleh dari uji kekuatan tarik nilai tertinggi yaitu untuk pengelasan dengan arus 80 A dan argon 6 l/m adalah 74 34 Mpa. 20. Zeolite-PAN/PVDF composite nanofiber membranes for highly efficient and selective removal of cationic dyes from wastewater

Abstract

This study presents a novel composite nanofiber membrane combining polyacrylonitrile/polyvinylidene fluoride (PAN/PVDF) electrospun nanofibers with locally sourced zeolite from Sumatera, Indonesia, for pollutant dye filtration. The composite nanofiber (Ze-PAN/PVDF) membrane has 100% methylene blue dye rejection even after five filtration cycles with a permeation flux of 185 Lm-2h-1bar-1. The membrane is highly selective, with 100 % dye filtration efficiency for cationic dyes (i.e., methylene blue and crystal violet) vs. 78% and 1% for anionic dyes (i.e., Congo red and methyl orange, respectively). For the cationic dyes, the dye filtration mechanism is mainly governed by electrostatic attraction, while the size exclusion mechanism becomes more dominant for the anionic dyes. Overall, these results demonstrate the potential use of Ze-PAN/PVDF composite nanofiber membrane in wastewater treatment applications.

21. PENGEMBANGAN MODUL INTERAKTIF MENGGUNAKAN LEARNING CONTENT DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM PADA MATERI LISTRIK DINAMIS

Abstract

The purpose of this development research was to develop an interactive module using Learning Content Development System (LCDS) as learning material. The steps of interactive module development used development procedure based on Suyanto & Sartinem procedures, which ware need analysis, resource identification, identification of product specification, product development, internal test by the expert, external test by the user, and final production using offline publish. Internal test result showed that module is appropriate with the theory and proper to be used as learning media. External test was done to the student at SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung of X1 class got scores: 3.14 on attractiveness aspect, 3.09 easiness aspect, and 3.15 usefullness aspect. This showed that interactive module is attractive, easy to use and usefull for the students as learning material of dynamic electrics topics.Tujuan dari penelitian pengembangan ini adalah untuk mengembangkan modul interaktif menggunakan Learning Content Development System (LCDS) sebagai bahan ajar. Tahapan pengembangan modul interaktif menggunakan prosedur pengembangan menurut Suyanto & Sartinem meliputi analisis kebutuhan, identifikasi sumber daya, identifikasi spesifikasi produk, pengembangan produk, uji internal oleh ahli, uji eksternal oleh pengguna, dan produksi akhir dengan cara publish secara offline. Berdasarkan hasil uji internal menunjukkan modul interaktif telah sesuai dengan teori dan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran. Pengujian eksternal dilakukan pada siswa kelas X1 di SMAN 5 Bandar Lampung memperoleh nilai: aspek kemenarikan 3,14, aspek kemudahan 3,09, dan aspek kemanfaatan 3,15. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa modul interaktif menarik, mudah digunakan, dan bermanfaat bagi siswa sebagai bahan ajar materi listrik dinamis.Kata kunci: LCDS, listrik dinamis, modul interaktif, pengembangan
