The newly synthesized cyclotriphosphazene cored coumarin chemosensors 5, 6, and 7 were successfully characterized by
1 H NMR,31 P NMR, and MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Additionally, the photophysical and metal sensing properties of the targeted compounds were determined by fluorescence spectroscopy in the presence of various metals (Li+ , Na+ , K+ , Cs+ , Mg2+ , Ca2+ , Ba2+ , Cr3+ , Mn2+ , Fe3+ , Co2+ , Al3+ , Hg+ , Cu2+ , Zn2+ , Ag+ , and Cd2+ ) . The fluorescence titration results showed that compounds 5, 6, and 7 could be employed as fluorescent chemosensors for Fe3+ ions with high sensitivity. 3. Amperometric glucose biosensing performance of a novel graphene nanoplatelets-iron phthalocyanine incorporated conducting hydrogel.

Herein, a novel one step synthesis of multicomponent three dimensional polyacrylic acid (PAA) based conducting hydrogel (CH) incorporated with iron phthalocyanine functionalised graphene nanoplatelets (GPL-FePc) is reported. An amperometric glucose biosensor was fabricated by the immobilization of glucose oxidase (GOx) onto the synthesised PAA-VS-PANI/GPL-FePc-CH (where VS-PANI is vinyl substituted polyaniline). Scanning electron microscopy reveals the presence of three dimensional microporous structure with estimated pore size of 19 μm. The 5-(trifluoromethyl)-2-mercaptopyridine substitution onto FePc enabled the solubility of FePc in water and controls the aggregation of GPL-FePc in the synthesised CH. A sharp peak around 699 nm in UV-visible spectra confirms the presence of incorporated GPL-FePc into CH. Cyclic voltammogram of the synthesised CH biosensor exhibited well defined redox peaks with a ΔE
p value of 0.26 V in Fe(CN)6 3-/4- bench mark solution. The fabricated PAA-VS-PANI/GPL-FePc/GOx -CH amperometric biosensor resulted in remarkable detection sensitivity of 18.11 μA mM-1 cm-2 with an average response time of ∼1 s, linearity from 1 to 20 mM, and low detection limit of 6.4 μM for the determination of glucose., (Copyright © 2019 Elsevier B.V. 5. Escenaris de futur de les emissions mundials en base a l'anàlisi dels factors conductors d'aquestes

- Abstract
Aquest TFG presenta un estudi de les emissions de CO2, provinents de la crema de combustibles fòssils, a través de l’anàlisi dels factors conductors que en determinen la seva evolució. Els factors conductors considerats són la intensitat energètica, intensitat de carboni, PIB per càpita i població, i estan relacionats amb les emissions per l’anomenada Identitat de Kaya, en la que es defineixen les emissions com el producte d’aquests quatre factors. En primer lloc, s’analitza l’evolució de les emissions durant el període històric (1990-2013) tant pel cas del món com per aquells països (alguns d’ells desenvolupats i d’altres en desenvolupament) que actualment encapçalen el rànquing d’emissions. De l’anàlisi es conclou que el creixement econòmic, i en segon terme, l’augment de la població, són els principals factors que han contribuït a l’augment d’emissions, mentre que la reducció de la intensitat energètica ha actuat com a factor mitigador. En segon lloc, a nivell mundial, es construeixen escenaris fins l’any 2050 i es comparen amb els escenaris RCP (Representative Concetration Pathways) del IPCC. La construcció de l’escenari tendencial de l’històric, condueix a nivells molt alts d’emissions (82 GtCO2) a l’any 2050. En canvi, escenaris alternatius on es modifica la projecció d’alguns dels factors conductors, mostren una mitigació considerable d’emissions. Malgrat tot, els escenaris més ambiciosos condueixen, al 2050, a unes emissions de 22.5 GtCO2, molt per sobre, encara, de les emissions marcades per aquell any a l’escenari RCP2.6 (11.4 GtCO2) el qual permetria limitar l’augment de temperatura a 2 °C respecte els nivells preindustrials.

6. Impedance and voltammetry detection of bromate in food samples using NiPcMWCNTs modified glassy carbon electrode.

A sensitive bromate sensor was developed using nickel phthalocyanine multi-walled carbon nanotubes nanocomposite modified on a glassy carbon electrode. The NiPcMWCNTs nanocomposite was prepared from nickel nanoparticles, phthalocyanine, and functionalized MWCNTs via ultrasonication. UV–visible spectroscopy, SEM, XRD, TEM, and EDX techniques were used to verify the successful fabrication of the nanomaterials. The results of the EIS and CV experiments conducted in 5 mM K
3 (Fe(CN)6 /K4 (Fe(CN)6 made in 0.1 M of PBS (pH 7) revealed that the NiPcMWCNTs/GCE exhibited higher current response, faster electron transfer, and high specific capacitance compared to other electrodes. The electrochemical reduction of bromate was actualized in 0.1 M H2 SO4 (pH 1) using EIS and SWV techniques. Using the EIS technique, an LoD of 6.72 μM was obtained with a sensitivity of 483.7 μA μM−1 over a linear dynamic range (LDR) of 24–100 μM. Whereas, with the SWV technique, a lower LoD (1.47 μM) was obtained with a higher sensitivity (1293 μA μM−1 ) over an LDR of 12–56 μM. The developed sensor was characterized by good selectivity, high stability (95.5%), and good reproducibility (% RSD; 3.5%). The fabricated sensor was effectively used to detect bromate in bread samples with a good recovery rate, demonstrating the practical application of the sensor to detect bromate in real samples (bread). 7. Aza-BODIPY chromophore as a unit of oligomers with outstanding optical properties.

In this research, different number of the 4,4-difluoro-4-bora-3a,4a,8-triaza-s-indacene (aza-BODIPY) molecule has been employed to design novel oligomers with considerable electrical and optical properties. The geometries of the designed oligomers were optimized and the IR frequency and cohesive energy were calculated to study their stability. To explore their electronic properties, the HOMO, LUMO energies and E
g of designed oligomers were calculated. It was shown that by enlarging the size of oligomer and increase in number of aza-BODIPY units in designed oligomers, their Eg was narrowed. Finally, it was found that as the numbers of aza-BODIPY units in the oligomers increased, a great enhancement in optical properties was observed. Significant optical properties with strong absorption lines were seen in the visible and near-infrared regions for designed oligomer with six and seven aza-BODIPY units. The novel pyridine bearing schiff base substituted metal-free (9), zinc(II) phthalocyanine (10), and its quaternized derivative (11) were designed and synthesized. These phthalocyanines were fully characterized by spectroscopic methods (FT-IR, UV–Vis, MALDI-TOF, and 1 H NMR). The photo-physicochemical properties of these phthalocyanines were investigated in both DMSO and DMF for 10 and in both DMSO and aqueous solution for 11. The addition of pyridine bearing Schiff base groups as peripheral ligands showed an improvement in the photophysical and photochemical properties. In addition, a spectroscopic investigation of the binding behavior of the water-soluble zinc (II) phthalocyanine complex to bovine serum albumin (BSA) was also studied in this work. What is fascinating about Murat Isik's novel Wees onzichtbaar is that so many different groups of people greatly appreciate this book, from the juries of the literary prizes, to the literary-oriented readers in the countless reading clubs in the Netherlands, and from the viewers of the TV programs De leesclub van M. and Koffietijd, to the students and the booksellers. This article examines how the novel brings about that enthusiasm about Isik's storytelling and which narrative aspects could play a role in it. After the main storylines have been mapped, the storytelling perspective and some storytelling techniques are discussed. In addition, attention is paid to the novel Wees onzichtbaar as a 'coming of age' novel, in the broader perspective of multicultural diversity and cultural differences in a multicultural society. Nederlandstalige abstract Het fascinerende aan Murat Isiks roman Wees onzichtbaar is dat zoveel verschillende groepen mensen, zowel de jury's van literaire prijzen als de literair georiënteerde lezers in de talloze leesclubs in Nederland, de kijkers van de tv-programma's De leesclub van M. en Koffietijd, de studenten en de boekverkopers dit boek enorm waarderen. In dit artikel wordt onderzocht hoe de roman het enthousiasme over de vertelkunst van Isik teweegbrengt en welke narratieve aspecten daarin een rol kunnen spelen. Nadat de belangrijkste verhaallijnen in kaart zijn gebracht, worden het vertelperspectief en enkele verteltechnieken besproken. Daarnaast is er aandacht voor de roman Wees onzichtbaar als een 'coming of age'-roman, in het bredere perspectief van multiculturele diversiteit en culturele verschillen in een multiculturele samenleving. In this research, the BODIPY molecule was selected; and based on its structure, using a different number of BODIPY molecules connected to each other, novel oligomers with significant electrical and optical properties were designed. After structural optimization, the frequency analysis and cohesive energy calculations were done to ensure the oligomers' stability. The electronic properties of the designed oligomers were studied; and it was shown that by increasing the numbers of BODIPY molecules in designed structures, their E
g was narrowed. Finally, it was shown that by increasing the numbers of BODIPY molecules in oligomers, a great improvement in optical properties such as increasing the number of absorption lines and intensity of them was observed. Among the designed oligomers, two di- and tri-BODIPY molecules have substantial optical properties with intense absorption lines in visible and near-infrared regions. 13 C-NMR, and13 C-DEPT-135-NMR. The fluorescence property of phenyl-4,4-di(3,6- dibutoxyphthalonitrile) (3) towards various metal ions was investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy, and it was observed thatthe compound (3) displayed a significantly 'turn-off' response to Fe3+ , which was referred to 1:2 complex formation between ligand (3) and Fe3+. In this work, hybrid materials of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) noncovalently functionalized with fluoroalkyl- (SWCNT/ZnPc-CF) and alkyl- (SWCNT/ZnPc-CH) substituted zinc(II) phthalocyanines were prepared. The effect of fluorination of the substituents in phthalocyanine macrocycle on the functionalization degree of carbon nanotubes and sensor response to ammonia was investigated. It was shown that the type of substituents in the phthalocyanine macrocycle showed noticeable effect both on the degree of functionalization of carbon nanotubes and on the sensing performance of the investigated hybrids. The amount of phthalocyanine molecules adsorbed on SWCNT walls was shown to be 1.5 times higher in the SWCNT/ZnPc-CH hybrid. The SWCNT/ZnPc-CF layer exhibited 2 times less chemiresistive sensor response to ammonia than SWCNT/ZnPc-CH, while its sensor response was more stable at 70% relative humidity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

18. Tuning the electrical and morphological characteristics of PEDOT:PSS films through mixed cosolvent addition and performance of their polymer solar cells.

This work aimed to reveal the influence of premixed cosolvent addition to low conductive PEDOT:PSS solution and how the optimized thin film conductivity develops. PEDOT:PSS thin films were obtained by addition of EG and MeOH cosolvent mixture (8, 10, and 15 v/v.%) and the morphological, electrical, optical, and bandgap properties of the films obtained were characterized by different techniques. The addition of mixed cosolvent can effectively control the grain size distribution and thus the conductivity. The optical characterization results revealed that the bandgap decreased with increasing volume of mixed cosolvent. The conductivity characteristics showed that the addition of 10% v/v.% EG-MeOH blend to low conductive PEDOT:PSS solution is optimal. Polymer solar cells (PSCs) were produced with a configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/P3HT:PCBM/Al, which is one of the most common configurations examined. The highest efficiency of 2.7% was achieved, which resulted in a 20% enhancement (2.2%) compared to the control device. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

19. Ammonia sensing performance of thin films of cobalt(II) phthalocyanine bearing fluorinated substituents.

In this work, a new cobalt phthalocyanine derivative bearing 5-(trifluoromethyl)-2-mercaptopyridine substituents (CoPc) was synthesized and characterized. The redox properties of CoPc were studied by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV) methods. The sensing performance of CoPc thin films deposited by spin coating of its solution in ethylacetate was studied against low concentrations of ammonia (0.3 to 50 ppm) by measuring changes in the films' conductivity at different humidity. It has been shown that the CoPc-based sensor displays an improved ammonia sensing performance in terms of sensitivity, response and recovery times. Ammonia can be detected in the presence of volatile organic vapors, and its detection limit was found to be 0.3 ppm. At the same time, low concentrations of CO
2 comparable with the concentrations of ammonia do not influence on the sensitivity of CoPc film to ammonia, however the sensor response noticeably distorts in the presence of high CO2 concentrations in the gas mixture. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

22. 'Not Unlike Mermaids': A Report about the Human and Natural History of Southeast Africa from 1690.

In 1690, on the orders of Simon van der Stel, officials of the Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie (VOC) interviewed one Nicolao Almede, a 'free black man of Mozambique' who had recently arrived at the Cape as a sailor aboard the English ship John and Mary. Almede informed his interlocutors about the country inland from the coast between Mozambique and Delagoa Bay (now Maputo Bay), into which he had previously ventured as a merchant. Although he does not mention the legendary name of Monomotapa, he does offer early descriptions of the Changamire dynasty, as well as the animals and people of the region, including its fabulous wealth. Some of the place names he mentioned are well known, while others cannot now be traced, perhaps because he was using indigenous rather than Portuguese names. The record of the interview concludes with Almede's description of mermaids, and the fact that their teeth could be had in the market at Mozambique. Together with producing a transcription and translation of the document this article explores it through a close reading to offer some speculations about the interweaving of legend and fact in the human and natural history of southern Africa in reports such as that of Almede. Malgrat tot, els escenaris més ambiciosos condueixen, al 2050, a unes emissions de 22.5 GtCO2, molt per sobre, encara, de les emissions marcades per aquell any a l’escenari RCP2.6 (11.4 GtCO2) el qual permetria limitar l’augment de temperatura a 2 °C respecte els nivells preindustrials.

ÖZ - Bu çalışma Afyon ili batısında yer alan, Akdeğirmen Baraj Yeri ve Göl Alanının Mühendislik J`eolo«jisi'ni açık lamayı amaçlar. İnceleme alanının temelinde, karasal ortamda çökel- miş kireçtaşı, marn, çakıltaşı, kumtaşı, tüf ve silttaşı ardalanmalarından oluşan Üst Miyosen-Pliyosen yaşlı Ulubey formasyonu yer alır. Pleyistosen (Alt Kuvaterner) yaşlı beyaz, sarı, kırmızımsı renkli, çakıltaşı, kumtaşı, silt taşı, kil taşı ardalanmalarından oluşan akarsu ortam ürünü Asartepe formasyonu ise ülubey formasyonunu açılı uyumsuz lukla üstler. Bölgenin en genç çökellerini alüvyon ve ya maç molozu oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma alanı ve yakın yöresi Batı Anadolu gerilme bölgesi içinde y eralmak tadır (ŞengÖr, 1980). Üst Miyosen- günümüz arasında yaklaşık K-G yönlü gerilmeler etkisinde kalan çalışma alanı ve yakın yöresi gerilmelere uygun ola- r'ak BKB-DGD yönlü eğim atımlı normal faylar ile, özellikle kireçtaşı, kumtaşı içerisinde aynı rejimi belgeleyen BKB- DGD ve DKD-BGB doğrultuya sahip eklem takımları da izlen mektedir. Baraj yerinin topografik konumu ve malzeme olanak larının incelenmesi sonucunda, baraj gövdesinin kil çekir dekli kaya dolgu tipinde yapılması uygun görülmüştür. İnceleme alanındaki birimlerin mühendislik özellik lerinin saptanması için yapılan laboratuvar deney sonuçla rına göre, Ulubey formasyonunun; porozite, boşluk oranı ve su emmesinin `yüksek`, özgül ağırlık ve birim hacim ağırlıklarının `düşük`, mekanik özelliklerinin ise; `az- çok az dirençli, `düşük-orta modül oranlı` olduğu anla şılmaktadır. Süreksizliklerin, `orta sık -sık eklem ara uzaklıklı`, `orta-düşük eklem yanal devamlılığına sahip` eklem dolgu malzemelerinin `zayıf kayaç` ve `tıkız-pekiş- miş kil` olduğu, eklem yüzey pürüzlülüğünün `orta pürüz- lü-pürüzlü` arasında olduğu belirlenmiştir. Asartepe for masyonunun isej porozite, boşluk oranı ve su emmesinin `yüksek`, özgül ağırlık ve birim hacim ağırlıklarının `düşük` olduğu saptanmıştır.Ulubey formasyonuna ait kaya türlerinin kaya kali tesi (RQD) sonuçları `kötü-çok kötü` olarak belirlenmiştir. Geçirimlilik yüzeyden derine doğru azalmakta ve sağ sahi lin %38 i `geçirimli-çok geçirimli`, sol sahilin %27 si `geçirimli-çok geçirimli` dir. Yeraltı su seviyesinin ko numu ile birimlerin geçirimliliklerinin incelenmesi sonu cu, sağ sahildeki hidrolik eğimin yan havzaya doğru oldu ğu ve buna bağımlı olarak su kaçaklarının oluşabileceği saptanmıştır. Çevirme tünelinin sağ sahilde açılması uygun görül müştür. Ulubey formasyonu kaya kalitesi (EQD) ve tek eksen li basınç direnci sonuçlarına göre çevirme tüneli yumuşak zemin kazısı ile açılmalı* Ayrıca eklem aralıkları dikka te alındığında yer yer gevşetmek için patlatma yapılıp, küskü ile alınmalıdır. Tünel guzergahmdaki kaya sınıfla malarında} RMR kaya sınıflamasına göre, en iyi koşullarda `orta kaya`, en kötü koşullarda `çok zayıf kaya`, Q siste mi kaya sınıflamasına göre, en iyi koşullarda `orta kaya` en kötü koşullarda `çok fazla zayıf kaya` olduğu saptanmış tır. Yapılan bu sınıflamalar çerçevesinde açık kazının des teksiz durma süresi ile alınması gereken destekleme önlem leri belirlenmiştir. Göl alanındaki normal su seviyesi kotundan daha dü- düşük kotta bulunan Çal tan Tepe» deki boyun ile Düzağaç Ka sabası, girişindeki.yerlere, normal su seviyesinin yüksek liği nedeni ile kapama yapılması gerektiği saptanmıştır. Baraj gövdesi ve kapama güzergahları için gerekli olan dolgu malzemesi, uygun mühendislik özelliklerine sahip, yeterli miktarda ve yakın mesafedeki sahalarda belirlen miştir. Çalışma alanı, 2. derece deprem bölgesinde olduğu saptanmıştır. Yörede geçmişte olan en yüksek deprem ivme sinin 3 katı olan yatay deprem katsayısı 0,4 g olarak a- lınması gerektiği belirlenmiştir. ABSTRACT - This study aims the explanation of the enginee ring geology of Akdeğirmen dam site and rezervoir which is located in the west of Afyon. At the base of the studied area Ulubey formation which is consist of limestone, marl, sandstone, conglome rate, tuff and silts tone interbedded continental; environ ment of Upper Miocene-Pliocene age are observed. Asartepe formation is composed of the alternating of white-yellow red colored conglomerate, sandstone, siltstone, claystone formed in fluvial environment overlie the Ulubey formati on by ungular unconformity. The youngest deposits in the region consist of alluvium and molasse. The investigation area and its surrouinding area is located in the extensional region of the West Anatolia (Şengör, 1980). This region is under the approximately N-S directed stress tension the WM-ESE directed normal fault and especially WNW-ESE, ENE-WSW directed joint system fo und in the limestone and sandstone are observed. As a result of the studies about the topographic situation of the area and material reserves, it is agreab- le that Akdeğirmen dam will be constructed in type of clay nucleussed rock filling. According to the experimental results in order to determine the engineering characteristics of the unit in the studied area. Ulubey formation has a highly porosity, void ratio, and water section, but low specific gravity and unit volumetric gravity and accordingto the mechanical pro perties, `low-highly low strength, low-average modulus ratio` are obtained.lt is determined that discontinoutes here `middle-tight large interjointed`, `narrow-very nar row opening jointed`, `middle-low lateral continuous «join ted, fillers «joint materials are `weak rock and pinched- consolidated clay`, joint surface roughness are `impression fricted-roughness`. Asartepe formation has ahighly porosity, void ratio and water suction, but a low specific gravityand unit volumetric gravity. It haa been determined that the rock samples belong ing to the Ulubey formation haa `weak-very weak` RQD. Pemeability from surface to deep becomes weaker, and 38% of the right coast and 27% of the left coast are permeabl -very permeabl. As a reault of the correlation of the underground water table with the permeability, it shows that the hydrolic dip is directed to the tributary valley on the right coast so that there could be water leakage. It is appropriate that the derivation tunnel sho uld be opened in the right coast. Opening-up tunnel could be made by degrade of soft ground according to the Rock Quality Designation (RQD), blowing up for loosen and break and if necessary it could be taken by the drilling bar. According to the rock classification (geomechanic RMR classification, Q system classification) in tunnel line suitable support cathegories determined with correlation that the rock type in the best conditions shouldbe called `middle rock`, in the worst conditions, it should be cal led `very weaknes rock`. According to Q classification: in the best and worst conditions, it is called `middle rock and very more weaknes rock`. In the light of these studies, it has been pointed out that some preventation for supporting are also been determined. The area between Çal tan Tepe and Düzağaç town dam ming lines which is located in the lower level than the normal water level in the reservoir area, has been studied and it was decided to made filling up due to the high normal water level in that area. Filling material used for damming line has suitable engineering facilities and provided from the surroinding area of the dam. Investigated area is located in the second degree earthquake region. Horizontal earthquake ratio which sho uld be three times big er for dam body was obtained such as 0,4 g* 147

Studies in coastal dynamics now grant increasing importance to the sudden, if not instant manifestations of tectonics. However, a close study of the sedimentary sequences shows that, in many instances, the coastal evolution is due either to other non neotectonic causes or to slow tectonic movements. Indeed, it seems that beach sediments, better than any other rock material, record the morphodynamic events undergone by the coast, in particular in their phase of cementation. This will be illustrated by two examples : the bay of Aghios Andreas in Ilia (Greece) and the limestone cliff of Guverdjine Kaya in Syria. In both cases, a hasty interpretation could favour quick tectonic movements in the recent evolution of those parts of the Mediterranean coast. But a closer study of the simultaneaous sedimentary sequences shows that, on the contrary, the tectonic movements have been either slow or only partly recorded., Résumé Les études de morphodynamique littorale accordent de plus en plus un rôle prédominant à la tectonique et à ses manifestations brusques voire instantanées. Pourtant, une étude attentive des séquences sédimentaires montre que, dans de nombreux cas, il existe une origine autre que tectonique à l'évolution des littoraux ou bien que ce sont des mouvements tectoniques lents qui en sont la cause. Il semble en effet que les sédiments de plage, notamment au cours de leur cimentation, enregistrent mieux que d'autres supports rocheux les événements morphodynamiques que le littoral a vécus. C'est ce que montrent les deux exemples que nous avons choisi de comparer, la baie d'Aghios Andreas en Élide (Grèce) et la falaise calcaire de Guverdjine Kaya en Syrie. Dans ces deux cas, une interprétation fondée sur l'examen du substratum calcaire a d'abord conduit à expliquer l'histoire morphodynamique du secteur littoral considéré par un certain nombre de mouvements tectoniques rapides. Mais une étude des épisodes sédimentaires concomitants démontre au contraire que les mouvements tectoniques ont été plus nombreux et que, de plus, certains d'entre eux ont été lents., Fouache Eric, Dalongeville Rémi.
