Control Charts are one of the most powerful tools used to detect aberrant behavior in industrial processes. A valid performance measure for a control chart is the average run length (ARL); which is the expected number of runs to get an out of control signal. At the same time, robust estimators are of vital importance in order to estimate population parameters. Median absolute deviation (MAD) and quantiles are such estimators for population standard deviation. In this study, alternative control charts to the Tukey control chart based on the robust estimators are proposed. To monitor the control chart's performance, the ARL values are compare for many symmetric and skewed distributions. The simulation results show that the in-control ARL values of proposed control charts are higher than Tukey's control chart in all cases and more efficient to detect the process mean. However, the out- of- control ARL values for the all control charts are worse when the probability distribution is non-normal. As a result, it is recommended to use control chart based on the estimator Qn for the process monitoring performance when data are from normal or non-normal distribution. An application example using real-life data is provided to illustrate the proposed control charts, which also supported the results of the simulation study to some extent.

Bilimsel çalışmalarda güvenilir sonuçlar elde edebilmek ve standart ölçümler sunabilmek için çalışmada kullanılan ölçme aracının geçerli olması gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmada Maslach tükenmişlik ölçeğinin yapı geçerliliği test edilerek bir yapısal eşitlik modeli önerilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde IBM SPSS 23.0 ve AMOS 23 istatistik paket programları kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre; ölçeğin 3 faktör altında toplandığı ve toplam varyansın % 42.38’ini açıklayabildiği elde edilmiştir. Güvenilirlik analizi sonucunda Cronbach-α katsayısına göre, ölçeğin yüksek bir güvenilirlik düzeyine sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile tek faktörlü, birinci düzey çok faktörlü ve ikinci düzey çok faktörlü modeller ayrı ayrı incelenmiştir. Elde edilen uyum indekslerine göre; bu ölçeğin modellenmesinde modifiye edilmiş birinci düzey çok faktörlü modelin kullanılması önerilmektedir.

This paper aims to compare the performance of proposed confidence intervals for population coefficient of variation (CV) with the existing confidence intervals, namely, McKay, Miller, and Gulher et al. confidence intervals under both symmetric and skewed distributions. We observed that the proposed augmented-large-sample (AA&K-ALS) confidence interval performed well in terms of coverage probability in all cases. The large-sample (AA&K-LS) and adjusted degrees of freedom (AA&K-ADJ) confidence intervals had much lower coverage probability than the nominal level for skewed distributions. However, the average widths of the AA&K-LS confidence interval are narrower than that of the rest confidence intervals. Two real-life data are analyzed to illustrate the implementation of the several methods .

In this study, we propose confidence intervals and their bootstrap versions for the difference of variances of two independent population using some robust variance estimators. The proposed confidence intervals are compared with Herbert confidence interval in terms of coverage probability and average width. A simulation study is conducted to evaluate performances of the proposed confidence intervals under different scenarios. The simulation results indicate that the coverage probabilities for the proposed confidence intervals are very close to nominal confidence levels when the difference of population variances is zero. Confidence interval based on binary distance produces the narrowest average widths. Herbert confidence interval have not perform well for skewed distribution populations. Confidence interval based on comedian is generally recommended when the difference of population variances for skewed distributions is not zero. Average widths of bootstrap percentile confidence intervals are smaller, and decreases as sample size and nominal size increases, as expected. Consequently, we recommend bootstrap percentile confidence interval based on binary distances for skewed distributions.

İklimsel değişikliklerin bir sonucu olarak tüm canlılar için oldukça büyük bir tehdit oluşturan sıcaklık artışlarının belirlenmesi bu çalışmanın temel amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada iklimsel veriler olarak 2012-2016 yılları arasındaki ortalama basınç, minumum toprak üstü sıcaklık, ortalama nem, ortalama rüzgar hızı, ortalama sıcaklık ve toplam yağış ortalaması kullanılmıştır. İklimsel verilerin analizi için Eviews 9.0 yazılımı kullanılmıştır. Akaike Bilgi kriterine göre gecikme uzunluğu 4 olarak belirlenmiştir. Ortalama sıcaklık değişkenine verilen bir standart sapmalık şokun büyük çoğunlukla kendisi ve basınç değişkeni ile belirlendiği elde edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, ortalama sıcaklık değişkeni kısa dönemde kendi şokları ile belirlenebilmektedir. Diğer yandan 12 ayın sonunda ortalama sıcaklık değişkeninin % 58.4’ü kendisi tarafından, % 9.5’i ortalama minumum toprak üstü sıcaklık, % 9.4’ü ortalama nem, % 5.06’sı ortalama basınç ve % 7.24’ü ortalama rüzgar hızı tarafından açıklandığı elde edilmiştir. Vektör otoregresyon modelinin, iklimsel değişkenleri modellemede başarılı olduğu belirlenmiştir., Determination of temperature increase (global warming) as a result of climate change, became a tremendous threat for all living things, is the aim of this study. As climatic data in this study, the average of pressure, minimum temperature above soil, humudity, wind speed, temperature and total precipitation were used for the years between 2012 and 2016. Eviews 9.0 software was used to analyse the climatic data. Lag length was determined as four according to Akaike Information Criterion (AIC). It has been determined that a standard deviation shock given to the variable average temperature affects itself and the variable average pressure most. As a result, the average temperature variable is determined by its own shocks in the short term. On the other hand, at the end of 12 months, 58.4% of the variable average temperature is explained by itself, 9.5% by average minimum temperature above soil, 9.4% by average humidity, 5.06% by average pressure and 7.24% by average wind speed. It has been determined that the vector autoregression model is successful in modeling climatic variables.
