Öğretmen adayları Evren’in ve Dünya’nın oluşumunu karıştırmaktadır.

The concept and interpretation of hadiths have always been up-to-date since the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The constant change of social life naturally affected the permanency of interpretation of religious texts. The reflections of scientific and technical developments on religious texts have always been a controversial issue. It is clear in the commentaries and interpretation of the narrations for the astronomical developments related to the celestial bodies. In this study, an important hadith classics in the multidimensional changing Republican period, in particular, the hadiths of “küsûf” and “husûf” will be discussed in the context of “Sahih-i Bukhari Concise Tecrid-i Sarih Translation and Commentary” translated and annotated by Ahmed Naim and Kâmil Miras. Ahmed Naim, who annotated these hadiths, has a voice in philosophy and other social sciences as well as religious sciences. He interpreted the authentic narrations with a holistic view in accordance with scientific data and sustained his connection with the tradition by referring to the previous scholars. He also harshly criticized those who are against religion in the name of being scientific and stated that some of the unsolved issues in the “küsûf” and “husûf” narrations can only be solved with astronomical data and there is no other way. - Abstract
Muslims considered reading, which is the first command of the Qur'an, not only as a superficial reading, but as getting down to the essence of existence and understanding the world. In this direction, they have examined all the events that have developed around them from the first times with the eye of an example and have been the subject of their scientific studies. The fact that scientific learning is necessary for all Muslims, regardless of whether they are men or women, has also been an important source of motivation for them. One of the prominent aspects of the Islamic civilization is the interests of Muslims in religious sciences. Muslims, who did not limit themselves to religious sciences, also showed interest in positive sciences such as astronomy, mathematics, geometry, physics and chemistry in the later periods. One of the different reasons why Muslims show interest in this field is that the Qur’an included issues like celestial bodies and creation. In addition, issues such as taking the movements of celestial bodies such as the moon and sun as a basis in determining the times of routine worship aroused great interest and curiosity in Muslims. On the other hand, Muslims, who spread to a very wide geography with the conquests, encountered different ethnic, religious and cultural elements here. Muslims have started to translate scientific studies, which they consider as human heritage, into their own language. With the support of these activities by the state authorities, the studies have increased even more. One of the main purposes of our study is to make an assessment of the reasons for the success of the Islamic world in scientific studies after the conquests and political and military developments. From the first periods, the Islamic society focused primarily on learning religious subjects, and then, being influenced by other civilizations it encountered, it began to engage in positive sciences. They generally did not adhere to any limitations regarding these areas. Although it was seen that there were no studies devoted to positive sciences in the first years of Islam, important studies in this sense emerged towards the end of the first Hijri century. Muslims first tried to understand their religion better, after gaining certain knowledge on this issue, they became interested in positive sciences especially during the Abbasid period (750-1258). By the turn of the century, they began to produce great works in these areas. In our study, first of all, the information in current and classical sources about the work of Muslims will be brought together and the change that has taken place over the centuries will be discussed. In fact, the solution to the situation Muslims are in today is partly hidden in a better understanding of this period. Understanding this ascension adventure of Muslims throughout their history will shed a great deal of light on our day. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

9. Calibration of Meteor Cameras

- Abstract
Meteors are caused by particles from space that enter the Earth's atmoshphere with very high speeds. In order to better understand the meteor phenomenon, meteor cameras have been put up around the world in large networks. These cameras continuously monitor the sky in order to capture any meteors on film. To get information about the origin of the particles that cause the meteor phenomenon, these cameras need to be calibrated. With a good calibration we can determine where in the sky the meteor appeared, and its trajectory through the atmosphere. A software library has been developed for performing automatic astrometric calibrations of these cameras. It works by pairing stars in the image with known positions of stars from a star catalogue. The library has integrated various existing calibration methods in order to evaluate and compare them. Three methods were chosen and calibrations were performed on a number of different images from existing camera stations. We provide results and analysis of each method and give a measure of their accuracy and reliability. We found that the calibration method bundled with the camera used for the thesis gave substantial residuals, while the methods in use by the Norwegian Meteor Network, as well as the one in use by the Global Meteor Network gave accurate positions across the tested calibration images., Meteorer orsakas av partiklar från rymden som i hög hastighet kommer in i jordens atmosfär.

- Abstract
The Gaia satellite maps out the Milky Way and its observations have been condensed into a gigantic data base. The quantity is unmatched by other data bases, therefore its quality must always be analysed and scrutinized to keep the data accurate. The purpose of this thesis is to assess the accuracy of the stellar parameters that Gaia provides through its data sets GSP-Phot and GSP-Spec. This was achieved through inspecting the so-called benchmark stars within these samples. These are stars which has been closely studied with accurate methods which gives supreme reliability in their values. The comparison resulted in some conclusions regarding the GSP-Phot and GSP-Spec data bases. GSP-Phot showed sensitivity to distance, its reliance on photometry and parallax leading to errors through reddening, extinction and parallax uncertainty when distance increases. GSP-Spec showed sensitivity to low metallicity, as well as uncertainty from the radial velocity spectrometer (RVS) flux. Lower metallicity coinciding with greater RVS flux uncertainty, was a common denominator for greater error offsets. Finally future approaches were discussed, such as setting up functions using methods like linear regression and machine learning, to use the results to correct Gaia stellar parameters and increase their accuracy., Gaia-satelliten kartlägger Vintergatan och dess observationer har kondenserats till en gigantisk databas.

Chioniades’in Tebrîz’den getirerek Rumcaya çevirdiği eserlerin başında Abdurrahman el-Hâzinî’ye ait Zîc-i Sencerî, Nasîrüddîn et-Tûsî’nin koordinatörlüğünde yazılan Zîc-i İlhanî, Abdülkerim el-Fahhad’ın yazdığı Zîc-i ‘Alâ’i (Tablolarla Alâ’î’nin Astronomik El Kitabı) adlı eseri ve Şemseddîn el-Vâbkanavî el-Buharî’nin usturlaba ilişkin risalesi bulunmaktadır.

- Abstract
This thesis examines the medical content of Early Modern Swedish almanacs between the years 1608-1731. The aim of the study is to uncover the understanding of health, illness and the human body that is prevalent within the almanacs. This has been found to be strongly related to the medical paradigm of humorism, or Galenic Medicine. The almanacs also reveal the connection between the intellectual fields of medicine and astrology during the Early Modern Era, which I argue to be largely overlooked within the history of medicine in Sweden. Another central aspect of the study has been to analyze how the medical content and medical understanding changed during the studied period. The part of the almanacs called elections, were found to change quite drastically, and disappeared from the almanacs around 1700. When analyzing medical texts in the almanacs however, this change was not evident, indicating, among other results, that the relation between medicine and astrology remained.

19. Void Evolution and Cosmic Star Formation

Wasserman, Joel and Wasserman, Joel
- Abstract
The rate at which stars have formed throughout the history of theuniverse is not constant, it started out slow, increased until around redshift ∼ 2 when it reversed and became slower again. The reason for this behaviour is still being investigated with various models and simulations usually based upon dark matter halos. The aim of this study is to instead investigate whether there is a correlation between the cosmic star formation rate and the evolution of cosmic voids. This is achieved by comparing the total mass flow from voids with the amount of matter forming stars. A simple model of void mass flow is created and compared with observational data of star formation. The model is shown to exhibit the same behaviour as the star formation rate indicating that there is indeed a correlation between void evolution and star formation. This suggests it to be fruitful to create a more involved, alternative model of star formation based upon void evolution as opposed to the common halo evolution, Hur snabbt stjärnor bildas har genom universums historia förändrats över tid, det började långsamt och ökade sedan fram till rödförskutning ∼ 2 då trenden vände och saktade ner igen.

ASTRONOMICAL observations , *OBSERVATORIES , *ASTRONOMY , *MUSLIMS , *ISLAM - Abstract
The aim of this article is to determine the observations established in Islamic history chronologically and to introduce these institutions in terms of their basic features. As it is known, there was no observatory in the periods before Islam. Astronomical observations were usually done with transportable instruments. When the Muslims saw that the Ptolemy astronomy system they initially accepted had made some mistakes, they decided that it was necessary to observe for a long time to correct them and set up an observatory to realize this. Although there is some information that the first observatory in Islamic history was established in Damascus during the Umayyad period, researchers generally accepted that the first observatory was the Semmâseiye Observatory established in Baghdad by Me’mûn. A year later, Me'mun had built a second observatory in Damascus on Mount Kasiyun to make observations. After that, establishing observatories became the tradition of Islamic states, and close to fifty observatories were established in the Islamic world until the end of the Ottomans.

The purpose of this research is to determine the views of secondary school students about the planetarium. The phenomenology method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research. In order to find an answer to the research problem, the criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was preferred while determining the study group. In the study carried out in the 2020-2021 academic year, the criterion was determined as the students' visit to the Erbaa Bilimpark Planetarium. In this context, 15 students who participated in the trips organized to the Erbaa Bilimpark Planetarium were determined as the study group of the research. The data of the research were collected through a semi-structured interview form. The data were analyzed by content analysis by taking the opinions of 15 students about the planetarium after the trip. Regarding the studies carried out in the planetarium, the students stated that the video animation and reinforcement works were done at a sufficient level. In addition, it was determined that the contents of the planetarium were above the expectations of the students in terms of visuality, but could not meet the expectations of the students in terms of sound quality and environment size. It was also determined that the students liked the planetariums because they created the feeling of wandering in space. Another result of the study is the opinions of the students that their interests and thoughts on science and astronomy have changed in a positive way.

In the pre-modern period, fields such as astronomy, mathematics, and geometry were disciplinesthat were almost inseparably intertwined. People needed the data of astronomy in many areasof life. Astronomy has been applied in many subjects such as measuring time for better use, seasonalweather changes forecast, knowing the time of worship, and finding directions by usingpositions of celestial bodies. However, the effects of the movements of astronomical objects onhumans have always been a matter of curiosity. Astronomy has artistic features as well as providetechnical information. The traces of astronomy with its geometry, practical use, and aestheticdimensions of architectural structures are evident in historical works such as mosques, minarets, madrasahs, inn, baths, cupolas (gonbad), bridges, towers, and castles. In this study, the traces ofastronomical elements such as calendar and sundial were investigated by examining and photographingthe historical castles, cupolas, madrasahs, mosques, and minarets from the Saltukids,Seljuks, Ilkhanids, and Ottoman periods in the center of Erzurum. In addition, structures such asthe timekeepers house, which existed in the past but did not survive until today, were examined.Astronomy has shown its effect even in architectural structures in the past. Today, the positionthat should be between astronomy and humanity is discussed., Modern öncesi dönemde astronomi (ilm-i nücûm, ilm-i hey’e), matematik (riyâziyyât) ve geometri(hendese) gibi alanlar birbiri ile neredeyse ayrılamayacak derecede iç içe olan disiplinlerdir. - Abstract
Communication and interaction between religion and science is as old as the human history. This communication and interaction has occurred at times in the form of settlement and dialog and at other times in the form of clash and integration. Over the course of the history, there were times when religion affected science and vice versa. After the Renaissance, when the interest in scientific classics of the ancient world re-emerged in Europe, a rebirth was experienced in theology, thought and natural sciences. One of the scientific areas that saw development was, obviously, astronomy. Astronomy was not a field of science that the church was ignorant of. As an intellectual activity, astronomy was taught in the church and monastery. Astronomy education in churches and monasteries was based solely on repetition. The most original works done were translations of astronomy books from Arabic, which were then presented as new theories. However, there was still scarce information about planetary astronomy. Maybe the most original additions to astronomy were theological interpretations about it. The church direly needed astronomy especially in calendar calculations. The church became acquainted with Aristotle’s On the Heavens and Ptolemy’s Almagest. In spite of developments in Europe such as religious reforms and geographical explorations, the church, under the influence of leaders of the church, defended the geocentric universe theory revealed in Aristotle’s work titled On the Heavens and developed in Ptolemy’s Almagest and turned this into a religious dogma. Interest in astronomy and noteworthy astronomical studies, on the other hand, started in Europe with translations from Arabic into Latin after the 15th century. We see that in this new intellectual environment emerging after the Renaissance, communication and interaction between religion and science took on a completely different dimension and transcended to a different level. Having an old history, the church appeared to lose its rightfulness in many areas and especially its veracity in natural sciences, although it was still an undisputed power in all domains. In this context, Copernicus, who was a religious functionary at the same time, put forward a new model of the universe that was an alternative to Ptolemy’s astronomy, which was turned by the Church into a dogma. This model, expressed as a heliocentric model, was revolutionary. It not only criticized classical astronomical models, but also aimed at the Church, which based itself of the Ptolemaic model. If the universe was geocentric, either God would be mistaken - in which case Christianity and the Church would be deemed completely void - or the new astronomical models were mistaken. Since it was impossible for God to be mistaken, the new astronomical models were false. However, according to new calculations, the new model was more reasonable and acceptable. Nevertheless, if this new model turned out to be accurate, both the Holy Scripture would be falsified and the church would have made a mistake. Therefore, the ancient religious heritage is under impending radical criticism. Even though Copernicus dedicated his work to the pope, especially Luther and Calvin raised harsh objections to Copernicus on theological grounds. However, Copernicus was targeted not only by religious functionaries, but also by certain scientists. Nonetheless, such harsh criticism was not raised from the scientific community. Undoubtedly, the main reason for the clash between the Church and new scientific developments stemmed from literal readings of the Holy Scripture. Adopting a rigid literal approach by equating textual interpretation with the text itself, Luther and Calvin naturally brought science and religion against each other. Ironically, this new theory was put forward by Copernicus, who was a religious functionary himself. As claimed by some researchers, if such a theory had been propounded at a time when Church leaders such as Thomas Aquinas, who was influenced by Averroes, were in power, the religious texts would have been interpreted in line with scientific development and such a clash would have been avoided. However, we observe that the Church dogmatized previous interpretations instead of generating new ones. This attitude of the Church later caused deepening and radical breaking of the fault lines between different disciplines of religion (Christianity) and science. If, in the relevant period, the Church could have eluded dogmatism and science could have eluded ideologism, then the process would have unfolded more healthily. Although the actors have changed, it appears that in modern age, the nature of the problem between religion and science continues over the same erroneous notion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Studies which advance notice of future events with its unique style and method can be described as "melhame", is also called as "melhame/melheme", "mülhime/mülheme". The dictionary definition of "Melhame" is conflict or war resulting in massive losses or defeat; but as a term, it means to be prophecied the future of a society or community or a state thanks to particularly astronomical and meteorological phenomena by a sultan. Melhames are translated into Turkish at the beginning of the XV. century and they have attracted great interest. Becouse, there are predictions and prophecies for the future of the Ottoman sultans and territory in the melhames, for to not further spread of those prophecies, those works have entered to the list of banned printing publications at the 1900s. Source of our review of the work and the most melhames attributed to the Prophet Daniel. Mülhime-name, registered with the inventory number 06 Hk 3952/1 at Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey Manuscripts, is a melhame example consisting of 14 leaf. This study has focused on vocabulary of melhames which have not emerged and have not emphasized until today. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We propose a space-based interferometer surveying the gravitational wave (GW) sky in the milli-Hz to $\mu$-Hz frequency range. By the 2040s', the $\mu$-Hz frequency band, bracketed in between the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) and pulsar timing arrays, will constitute the largest gap in the coverage of the astrophysically relevant GW spectrum. Yet many outstanding questions related to astrophysics and cosmology are best answered by GW observations in this band. We show that a $\mu$-Hz GW detector will be a truly overarching observatory for the scientific community at large, greatly extending the potential of LISA. Conceived to detect massive black hole binaries from their early inspiral with high signal-to-noise ratio, and low-frequency stellar binaries in the Galaxy, this instrument will be a cornerstone for multimessenger astronomy from the solar neighbourhood to the high-redshift Universe., Comment: 28 pages, 8 figures; White Paper submitted to ESA's Voyage 2050 call for papers on behalf of the LISA Consortium 2050 Task Force

- Abstract

- Abstract
Electron holes are positively charged nonlinear structures in which trapped electrons are supported by a positive electrostatic potential. These structure are regularly observed in space and laboratory plasmas by means of diverging bipolar electric field signatures. Recent observations and simulations have shown that fast moving electron holes can generate electromagnetic whistler waves via Čerenkov emission. The fast moving positive charge correspond to localised currents which can potentially excite waves. The aim of the project is to study both theoretically and numerically the properties leading to the Čerenkov emission of whistler waves by three-dimensional electron holes. In addition, efforts are dedicated to the derivation of a model providing the properties of emitted whistlers. The model is compared with the observational features of electromagnetic whistler waves generated by electron holes.

- Abstract
Vâcidiye Madrasah was built by Mübârizüddin Umur b. Savcı who is one of Germiyanids’s chieftain on 714 (1314-1315) in the period of Yakub Bey who is one of the Germiyanids lords. The Madrasah was reputated as Vâcidiye Madrasah after Abdülvâcid b. Mehmed’s (Molla Vâcid) assignment the district, his long timed lactures and being buried there when he died. Exiting of open roof and the same in side rooms, existing of roumores about a place in which observatory tools can be used and existing of prooves about Kutahya’s astronomical interests was traditional and Abdülvâcid’s study on the issue, were commented that the place was possibly used as meteorological observatory as well. The Madrasah which not all of it’s instructors could be identified especially because of its low rank, was restored in different times and after last restoration on 1999 it has been transformed into museum. In this work, Vâcidiye Madrasah is extensively taken in hand as a whole beside its basic speciality, the matter of its being a meteorological observatory and its instructors in light of some archive documents that was used first time. Since 2015 the gravitational-wave observations of LIGO and Virgo have transformed our understanding of compact-object binaries. In the years to come, ground-based gravitational-wave observatories such as LIGO, Virgo, and their successors will increase in sensitivity, discovering thousands of stellar-mass binaries. In the 2030s, the space-based LISA will provide gravitational-wave observations of massive black holes binaries. Between the $\sim 10$-$10^3~\mathrm{Hz}$ band of ground-based observatories and the $\sim10^{-4}$-$10^{-1}~\mathrm{Hz}$ band of LISA lies the uncharted decihertz gravitational-wave band. We propose a Decihertz Observatory to study this frequency range, and to complement observations made by other detectors. Decihertz observatories are well suited to observation of intermediate-mass ($\sim10^2$-$10^4 M_\odot$) black holes; they will be able to detect stellar-mass binaries days to years before they merge, providing early warning of nearby binary neutron star mergers and measurements of the eccentricity of binary black holes, and they will enable new tests of general relativity and the Standard Model of particle physics. Here we summarise how a Decihertz Observatory could provide unique insights into how black holes form and evolve across cosmic time, improve prospects for both multimessenger astronomy and multiband gravitational-wave astronomy, and enable new probes of gravity, particle physics and cosmology., Comment: 13 pages, 1 figure. anemon The picture of the dominant universe in the Muslim World, as reflected in the classical literature, was not different from the geocentric idea of the universe. The purpose of the Quran is not to teach people astronomy lessons, but to establish a social order in which people can live together without spoiling the earth, regardless of the prevailing perception of the external world. According to this, “divine representation”, which was the basis of the political system in the first Muslim society, is attributed to the society with the concept of "caliph". However, in the post-Prophet political conflicts, the parties'fortification of their positions with occultist references, reinforced the theological assumptions regarding the idea of an earth-centered universe.

Epicurean “meteorology” encompasses cosmology, astronomy, and meteorology (in the Aristotelian sense). If the DRN conforms in general to the innovative epistemology of Epicurus and underlines its importance, it diverges from it sometimes, especially in Book V, through an employment of analogy which an attempt will be made to assess; some theories are not attested elsewhere in the Epicurean corpus. In Book VI, the explanation of meteorological phenomena upholds Epicurean atomism, but their presentation conveys a singular vision—stemming from poetics—of the world.
