A new process for the production of bioethanol from paper mill sludge (PMS) is described in this work. PMS biomass feedstock was processed via the simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF) with and without accelerants. The enzymatic hydrolysis and fermentation were first evaluated, and the energy demand was 2.2 MJ/L of produced ethanol. When the enzymatic hydrolysis and fermentation were combined, the energy demand was reduced to 1.0 MJ/L ethanol, the sugars production increased, and the overall capital cost of the process decreased. The sugar yield was improved by adding accelerant and selecting the optimal fiber recovery method. The accelerant improved the enzymatic hydrolysis via a pathing/bridging mechanism. The SSF with the chemical fiber recovery method coupled with accelerant addition would be the best process configuration. Upon this combination, the glucose profile was enhanced from 9.8 g/L to 17.0 g/L. The sludge fiber conversion by SSF was improved by selecting an efficient fiber recovery method combined with the accelerant addition. SSF in chemical fiber recovery with accelerant addition was the best process by a 10% improvement of ethanol yield. The proposed process configuration offers a lower cost and sustainable process and contributes to the circular economy of zero waste discharges.

Успешность спортивной деятельности в значительной степени определяется психофизиологическими особенностями индивидуума, в том числе уровнем различных характеристик агрессивности. Проблема ранней диагностики изменений уровня агрессивности и ее связи с нейродинамическими характеристиками у юных спортсменов остается актуальной. Цель: поиск взаимосвязи уровня агрессии с особенностями нейродинамических характеристик и уровнем биологического созревания спортсменов пубертатного возраста. Материалы и методы. Обследованы 90 хоккеистов 12–14 лет одной спортивной квалификации. При формировании групп учитывали соответствие биологического возраста паспортному (медианты, ретарданты, акселеранты) по антропометрическим показателям и выраженности признаков полового созревания. Сравнительный анализ показателей уровня агрессии и ее составляющих (физической, вербальной, гнева или враждебности) проводили по результатам выполнения теста Buss–PerryAggression. Для выявления ассоциации уровня агрессии, нейродинамических характеристик стадии биологического созревания был проведен кластерный анализ. Результаты. Установлена связь между показателями агрессии, уровнем биологического созревания и отдельными нейродинамическими характеристиками юных спортсменов. Исследованные параметры юных спортсменов объединены в несколько кластеров с высокой и средней силой корреляции. При исследовании уровня агрессии и ее составляющих выявлено достоверное превышение показателей общей агрессии, физической агрессии и аффективного компонента агрессивного поведения (гнева) у спортсменов, вступивших в период пубертатного созревания, над таковыми в группе подростков, биологический возраст которых отстает от паспортного. Заключение. Полученные данные позволят разработать рекомендации по совершенствованию системы медикопсихологического сопровождения спортсменов пубертатного возраста. Background. Sports performance is largely determined by the psychophysiological characteristics of a person, including the level of aggression. Therefore, early diagnosis of changes in the level of aggression and its relationship with neurophysiological characteristics in young athletes remains relevant. Aim. The paper aims to establish relationship between the level of aggression with the neurophysiological status and biological maturation of adolescent athletes. Materials and methods. 90 hockey players ages 12–14 with similar sports skills were examined. When forming groups, the correspondence of biological age to passport age (mediants, retardants, accelerants) was taken into account according to anthropometric data and the signs of puberty. A comparative analysis of aggression and its components (physical, verbal, anger or hostility) was carried out based on the results of the Buss-Perry Aggression questionnaire. To identify the relationship between aggression, the neurophysiological status and biological maturation, a cluster analysis was carried out. Results. The relationship between aggression, biological maturation and the neurophysiological status of young athletes was established. The studied parameters are combined in several clusters with a high (0.751–0.875) and average (0.626–0.750) degree of correlation. It was revealed that there was a significant excess of general aggression, physical aggression and the affective component of aggressive behavior (anger) in adolescent athletes compared to those athletes whose biological age was behind the passport one. Conclusion. The obtained data will allow developing recommendations for the system of medical and psychological support for adolescent athletes.

One can take advantage of the striking similarity of ignitable liquid vaporization (or weathering) patterns and the separation observed during distillation to predict the composition of residual compounds in fire debris. This is done with the advanced distillation curve (ADC) metrology, which separates a complex fluid by distillation into fractions that are sampled, and for which thermodynamically consistent temperatures are measured at atmospheric pressure. The collected sample fractions can be analyzed by any method that is appropriate. Analytical methods we have applied include gas chromatography (with flame ionization, mass spectrometric and sulfur chemiluminescence detection), thin layer chromatography, FTIR, Karl Fischer coulombic titrimetry, refractometry, corrosivity analysis, neutron activation analysis and cold neutron prompt gamma activation analysis. We have applied this method on product streams such as finished fuels (gasoline, diesel fuels, aviation fuels, rocket propellants), crude oils (including a crude oil made from swine manure) and waste oils streams (used automotive and transformer oils). In this paper, we present results on a variety of ignitable liquids that are not commodity fuels, chosen from the Ignitable Liquids Reference Collection (ILRC). These measurements are assembled into a preliminary database. From this selection, we discuss the significance and forensic application of the temperature data grid and the composition explicit data channel of the ADC.
