Introduction: Graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) is the major complication arising after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT). It can be presented as acute and/or chronic GvHD. The purpose of this study was describe the incidence of acute and chronic GvHD in patients treated with allo-HCT. Materials and methods: This study was designed as a retrospective study, which included 65 patients treated with allogeneic transplantation from human leukocyte antigen identical donor at University Clinic of Hematology in Skopje, North Macedonia. Results: Acute GvHD (aGvHD) was observed in 28 patients, with the most common localization on the skin (75%). Post-transplant phase had significant effect on the frequency of skin aGvHD ( p =0.038). Also statistically significant difference was confirmed between patients with and without acute skin GvHD in terms of conditioning regimen ( p =0.034). Chronic GvHD (cGvHD) was diagnosed in 10 patients, mostly progressing from the previous acute GvHD (9.23%). Post-transplant phase had also significant effect on the frequency of skin cGvHD ( p =0.018). Patients with higher European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation risk score had significantly more frequent skin cGvHD than the others. Conclusions: Acute and chronic GvHD were one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality of patients after aloo-HCT. GvHD remains a major risk for patients with allo-HCT regardless of diagnosis and type of transplantation.

BACKGROUND: Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cells transplantation (HSCT) is a curative intervention in patients with haematological malignant and non-malignant diseases, immunodeficiency, autoimmune, and other genetic diseases. Early complications are complications that are occurring in the first 100 days, while complications arising after the 100th day of transplantation belong to late complications.CASE REPORT: Forty-nine years old patient with AML treated with allogeneic HSCT from HLA-identical (sister) donor. Ascertained and display of early (acute Graft versus host disease (GvHD) and late complications (chronic GVHD, infections, cataract, secondary malignancy with MS deposits) are made, that emerged after the patient transplantation.CONCLUSION: Rapidly growing population of patients that undergo allogeneic HSCT creates an obligation to educate patients and physicians about observed late complications that occur after this therapy.

Bu çalışmada, kil minerallerinin kalkopirit flotasyonundaki etkilerinin ortaya konulması ve flotasyonda başarılı sonuçlar elde etmek için çözüm önerileri sunulması amaçlanmıştır.Deneysel çalışmalar; zeta potansiyeli ve temas açısı ölçümleri, flotasyon deneyleri, kil minerallerinin flotasyon tenör/verim/köpük kararlığına, flotasyon kinetiğine ve mekanik taşımaya etkisinin belirlendiği deneyler ile tesis numunesi için farklı bastırıcı/dağıtıcıların kullanıldığı deneyleri kapsamaktadır. Kil minerallerinin etkisinin araştırıldığı deneysel çalışmalarda istatistiksel deney tasarım yöntemlerinden merkezi kompozit tasarımı kullanılmıştır. Deneylerde bağımsız değişkenler; köpürtücü miktarı, dağıtıcı miktarı, köpük derinliği, hava akış hızı ve kil miktarı seçilmiştir. Sonuçların değerlendirilmesinde bağımlı değişkenler; kalkopirit tenörü ve verimi, pirit tenörü ve verimi, dinamik köpük kararlılığı ve ortalama kabarcık çapı olarak belirlenmiştir. Kilin etki mekanizmasını belirlemek için SEM, SEM-EDS, TOC ve FTIR analizleri yapılmıştır. Kil miktarı arttıkça kalkopirit tenörü düşmüş; verim, köpük kararlılığı ve kabarcık boyutu artmıştır. Verim ve tenör açısından olumsuz etki önem sırası montmorillonit>kaolin>illit, dinamik köpük kararlılığı açısından kaolin>montmorillonit>illit şeklinde belirlenmiştir. En büyük kabarcık çapı montmorillonit ile elde edilmiştir. Etkin mekanizma mekanik taşıma olarak belirlenmiştir. Uygun bir flotasyon için kil tipi (kaolin, illit ve montmorillonit) ve oranına bağlı olarak uygulanabilecek flotasyon şartları matematiksel olarak modellenmiştir. Böylece tesis içerisinde zamanla değişen kil oranına bağlı olarak modelde yer alan çalışma parametrelerinde yapılabilecek değişiklikler ile flotasyon sonucunda ulaşılabilecek verim-tenör değerlerinin öngörüsü sağlanabilecektir. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the effects of clay minerals on the flotation of chalcopyrite and to offer solutions for successful results in flotation.Experimental studies include zeta potential and contact angle measurements, flotation experiments, experiments determined of clay minerals effect on flotation grade/flotation recovery/froth stability, flotation kinetic and mechanical entrainment and experiments using different depressants/dispersants for the plant sample. Central composite design which is a statistical experimental design method has been used in experimental studies which investigated the effect of clay minerals. In the experiments, the amount of frother and dispersant, froth depth, air flow rate and the amount of clay were chosen as independent variables. Dependent variables in the evaluation of results were determined as chalcopyrite grade and recovery, pyrite grade and recovery, dynamic froth stability and mean bubble size. SEM, SEM-EDS, TOC and FTIR analyzes were performed to identify the mechanism of action of clay. As the amount of clay increased, chalcopyrite grade decreased; recovery, froth stability and bubble size increased. The order of negative interaction in terms of grade and recovery was determined as montmorillonite>kaolin>illite and in terms of dynamic froth stability was determined as kaolin>montmorillonite>illite. The largest foam diameter was obtained with montmorillonite. The effective mechanism is defined as mechanical entrainment. For a suitable flotation clay type (kaolin, illite and montmorillonite), clay ratio and flotation conditions that can be applied are modelled mathematically. Thus, the changes in the working parameters in the model depending on the time-varying clay ratio within the facility and the predictability of the recovery-grade values that can be achieved as a result of the flotation will be provided. 183

Kaolin tailings are commonly generated in the mineral industry. They are invariably negatively charged andconsequently tend to form stable dispersions with poor flocculation characteristics. Coagulation–flocculationtreatments are suitable methods for removing colloidal particles from wastewater. In this study, the effects ofmono/multivalent ions (coagulants) and polymers (flocculants) on the sedimentation and electrokineticbehaviours of kaolin have been investigated. In experimental studies, Al2(SO4)3, FeCl3, MgCl2, CaCl2, NaClwere used as coagulant, while as flocculant anionic (A150), cationic (C521) and nonionic (N100) polymers wereused. Isoelectric point of kaolin was determined as pH 4.2. The effectiveness of coagulants increased with theincrease in the ionicity degree of the metal ions. Among the coagulants, FeCl3 provided the highest efficiency(91%). Low sedimentation velocities (6.3-12.2 mm/min) were obtained with coagulants. The highestsedimentation efficiency (94%) was achieved with anionic flocculants and the same sedimentation velocity (58mm/min) was reached with all flocculants., Kaolin atıkları mineral endüstrisinde yaygın olarak üretilir. Negatif yüklü olan bu atıklar zayıf flokülasyonözelliklerine sahip kararlı dağılımlar oluşturmaya eğilimlidirler. Koagülasyon-flokülasyon işlemleri, koloidalparçacıkları atık sulardan uzaklaştırmak için uygun yöntemlerdir. Bu çalışmada, mono/multivalent iyonların(koagülant) ve polimerlerin (flokülant) kaolenin çökelme ve elektrokinetik davranışlarına etkisi araştırılmıştır.Deneysel çalışmalarda, koagülant olarak Al2(SO4)3, FeCl3, MgCl2, CaCl2, NaCl ve flokülant olarak, anyonik(A150), katyonik (C521) ve noniyonik (N100) polimerler kullanılmıştır. Kaolenin sıfır yük noktası pH 4.2 olarakbelirlenmiştir. Koagülantların etkinliği, metal iyonlarının iyoniklik derecesinin artması ile artmıştır. Koagülantlararasında FeCl3 en yüksek verimi (%91) sağlamıştır. Koagülantlar ile düşük sedimantasyon hızları (6.3-12.2mm/dk) elde edilmiştir. En yüksek sedimantasyon verimliliği (%94) anyonik flokülant ile sağlanmış ve tümflokülantlar ile yaklaşık olarak aynı çökelme hızına (58 mm/dk) ulaşılmıştır.

ÖZCAN, Taner Hasan. Culture of Patient Safety in a Private Hospital in Southeastern Anatolia, Postgraduate Thesis, Ankara, 2018. By assuming that people can make mistakes, the conditions under which people work can be changed and improved in order to avoid mistakes. The measurement of the patient safety culture of workers is the first thing that must be done for patient safety culture to be adopted and developed in health institutions. In this study, it was aimed to determine the attitudes and patient safety culture of all employees about patient safety in a private hospital in Southeastern Anatolia. Another aim of this study was to assess the attitudes and cultures of all employees according to sociodemographic and professional characteristics. The survey aimed to reach the entire population (340 people), and 284 people were reached (participation rate of 84%). The Safety Attitudes Questionnaire (SAQ) developed by Sexton et al. (2006) was used as a data collection tool. SQA is in 5 Likert type, consists of 30 articles and 6 dimensions. In the study, the Cronbach alpha values of the dimensions were found to be reliable between 0.69-0.88. The coefficients of relationship between the dimensions except for the stress acceptance dimension are moderate and strong (0.62-0.76); however, the coefficients of correlation between stress acceptance dimension and other dimensions are very low and weak (0,19-0,32). While the “I like my job” statement of the SQA has the highest mean (4.55 ± 0.99) and participation rate (88.4%); “Excessive fatigue during emergency situations (eg. emergency resuscitation, bleeding) disrupts my performance” has been the statement to have the lowest mean (2.93 ± 1.54) and participation rate (43%). The dimension of the SQA with the highest mean is "job satisfaction" (4,04 ± 1,04), while the lowest is "acceptance of stress (3,25 ± 1,25)". The mean of other dimensions (working conditions [3,59 ± 1,14], management perceptions [3,57 ± 1,09], safety climate [3,49 ± 0,88], teamwork climate [3,54 ± 0 , 92]) are close to each other. In the study, generally female, age ≤29, education level high school and university, position nurse, interacting with patients, working hours daytime-night, hospital work period ≥11 months, professional work period 13-72 months or ≥73 months groups were found to have a more negative patient safety culture than the other groups. At the end of the study; suggestions were made to investigate why the perception of patient safety culture is low, to improve patient safety, to measure employees' attitudes and cultures of patient safety at certain intervals in these groups. İnsanın hata yapabileceği varsayımından yola çıkarak, hatanın olmaması için insanların çalıştığı koşullar değiştirilebilir ve geliştirilebilir. Sağlık kuruluşlarında hasta güvenliği kültürünün yerleştirilmesi ve geliştirilmesi için yapılacakların başında çalışanların hasta güvenliği kültürünün ölçülmesi gelmektedir. Bu araştırmada, Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesindeki özel bir hastanede tüm çalışanların hasta güvenliği ile ilgili tutumlarını ve buna bağlı olarak hasta güvenliği kültürünü belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Çalışanların, hasta güvenliği ile ilgili tutumlarının ve kültürünün soyodemografik ve mesleki özelliklerine göre değerlendirilmesi bu araştırmanın diğer bir amacıdır. Araştırmada tüm everene (340 kişi) ulaşmak hedeflenmiş, 284 kişiye (katılım oranı %84) ulaşılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Sexton ve diğerleri (2006) tarafından geliştirilen Güvenlik Tutumları Anketi (GTA) kullanılmıştır. GTA, 5’li Likert tipindedir, 30 madde ve 6 boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Stresin kabulü boyutu hariç diğer boyutlar arasındaki ilişki katsayıları orta düzeyde ve kuvvetli (0,62-0,76); stresin kabulü boyutu ile diğer boyutlar arasındaki ilişki katsayıları ise çok düşük ve zayıftır (0,19-0,32). GTA’daki ifadelerden “İşimi severim.” en yüksek ortalama (4,55±0,99) ve katılma oranına (%88,4) sahipken; “Acil durumlar (örneğin, acil resüsitasyonlar/ canlandırmalar, kanamalar) sırasında aşırı yorgunluk performansımı bozar.” en düşük ortalama (2,93±1,54) ve katılma oranına (%43) sahip ifade olmuştur. GTA’nın boyutlarından ortalaması en yüksek boyut “iş doyumu (4,04±1,04)” iken, ortalaması en düşük boyut “stresin kabulü (3,25±1,25)” boyutudur. Diğer boyutların ortalamaları (çalışma koşulları [3,59±1,14]; yönetime ilişkin algılar [3,57±1,09]; güvenlik iklimi [3,49±0,88]; ekip çalışması iklimi [3,54±0,92]) ise birbirine yakındır. Çalışmada genel olarak cinsiyeti kadın, yaşı ≤29, eğitim düzeyi lise ve üniversite, pozisyonu hemşire, hastalarla etkileşim içinde olan, çalışma saatleri gündüz-gece, hastanede çalışma süresi ≥11 ay, meslekte çalışma süresi 13-72 ay veya ≥73 ay olan grupların hasta güvenliği kültürü algısı, diğer gruplara göre daha olumsuz bulunmuştur. Çalışmanın sonucunda; bu gruplarda hasta güvenliği kültürü algısının neden düşük olduğunun araştırılması, hasta güvenliğinin iyileştirilmesi, çalışanların belirli aralıklarla hasta güvenliği ile ilgili tutumlarının ve kültürünün ölçülmesi yönünde önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Bu çalışmada, asetik asit içerisinde atık çinko–karbon pillerinden Zn ve Mn’nin ekstraksiyonu çalışılmıştır. Farklı koşullar altında Zn ve Mn çözünme davranışlarını araştırmak için liç testleri yapılmıştır. Deneylerde kullanılan parametreler; karıştırma hızı, asetik asit derişimi, sıcaklık ve tane boyutudur. Çinko ve manganın çözünme verimi sırasıyla %83.59 ve %52.47 olarak bulunmuştur. 600 dev/dk karıştırma hızında, 2 M asetik asit derişiminde, -53 μm tane boyutunda, 60°C liç sıcaklığında ve 240 dakikalık liç süresinde en yüksek Zn ve Mn çözünme verimi elde edilmiştir., In this study, extraction of Zn and Mn from spent zinc–carbon batteries in acetic acid solution was studied. Leaching tests were carried out to evaluate the leaching behaviour of Zn and Mn under different conditions. Experimental parameters used were; stirring speed, acetic acid concentration, temperature and particle size. The zinc and manganese extraction were obtained as 83.59% and 52.47%, respectively. The maximum Zn and Mn extraction were obtained in 240 min of leaching time with the following conditions; 600 rpm stirring speed, 2.0 M acetic acid concentration, -53 μm particle size and 60°C leaching temperature.

Flotation method has gained importance because of necessity for processing of high clay content and low grade ore deposits with the reduction of the rich ore deposits in the world. Clay minerals which are the main gangue mineral in many mineralization create problems in all steps of the mineral processing. Difficulties in the processing of high clay content in ores are due to their different and complex structure. The clay minerals which have significant structural differences are the most complicated minerals in terms of composition and classification. These structural differences cause different behavior, so effect the enrichment process. The importance of understanding the mineralogy of clay minerals and their structural characteristics, hence effect of this properties to enrichment process is increasing day by day. The presence of clay minerals leads to problems such as changing of froth stability, problems related to swelling behavior, increase in pulp viscosity, overconsumption of reagents, slime coating and mechanical entrainment in flotation. To improve the flotation performance, to ensure the effects of clay minerals and understand this mechanism is required. In this article, it was investigated the effects of clay minerals on flotation performance and scientific studies related with this issue, Dünyada zengin maden yataklarının azalmasıyla birlikte, yüksek kil içerikli ve düşük tenörlü cevher yataklarının işlenmesinin zorunluluk haline gelmesi ve bunun içinde flotasyon yönteminin kullanımı önem kazanmaktadır. Pek çok cevherleşmede ana gang minerali olarak bulunan kil mineralleri, zenginleştirme işlemlerinin tüm aşamalarında problem oluşturmaktadır. Yüksek kil içerikli cevherlerin işlenmesindeki zorluklar onların farklı ve karmaşık bir yapıya sahip olmalarından kaynaklanmaktadır. Bileşim ve sınıflandırma bakımından en karmaşık mineraller arasında yer alan kil mineralleri arasında belirgin yapısal farklılıklar mevcuttur. Bu çalışmada, Marfam Mermer'in fabrikasından alınan parça mermer atıkları 1 mm'nin altına kırılmıştır ve laboratuar ölçekli dikey pinli bir karıştırmalı değirmende kuru olarak öğütülmesi araştırılmıştır. Çalışma parametrelerinden; karıştırma hızı, doluluk oranı ve karıştırma süresinin, ürün inceliğine etkisi incelenmiştir. Tüm çalışma parametreleri için farklı deneyler yapılmıştır. Öğütücü ortam olarak 3,5-2,00 mm arası çapta zirkon bilyalar kullanılmıştır. Karıştırma hızının ve süresinin öğütmeye olan etkisi 5 farklı hızda (360, 540, 720, 1080 ve 1440 dev/dk) yapılan deneylerle belirlenmiştir. Doluluk oranının etkisinde 4 farklı doluluk oranlarında (%60, %80, %100 ve %140), değişik sürelerde deneyler yapılmıştır. Mikronize öğütülmüş mermer atıklarının boyut analizleri ve kimyasal özellikleri belirlenmiştir. Mermer atıklarının endüstriye yeniden kazandırılması için, kullanım alanlarının standartlara uygunluğu araştırılmıştır. In this study, waste marble pieces taken from Marfam Marble?s factory were crushed below 1 mm and then dry grinding properties were investigated in a laboratory scale pin-type vertical stirred mill. Operating parameters such as stirring speed, filling rate and stirring time have a considerable effect on the fineness of the product were investigated. Different grinding experiments were carried out for all operating parameters. Zircon beads with diameters of 3,5-2,00 mm were used as the grinding media. The effect of stirring speed and stirring durations determined by grinding at different five speeds (360, 540, 720, 1080 and 1440 rotation per minute. Under the effect of filling rate of four different filling rates (%60, %80, %100 and %140), experiments were carried out in different times. Size analyzes and chemical properties of micronize milled marble wastes were determined. To investigate the role of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) gene polymorphism in patients with degenerative aortic valve calcification (AVC).Our study consisted of 305 Turkish patients of European descent (139 male, 166 female; mean plus or minus age, 68 plus or minus 9 years) referred to our echocardiography laboratory for aortic valve evaluation between June 2, 2003, and April 29, 2005. The severity of AVC was graded from 1 to 6 by echocardiography. We used polymerase chain reaction to determine ACE gene polymorphism.The ACE insertion/deletion genotype distributions for the study population were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (chi square equals 3.5, P equals .18). The study population was divided into 3 groups based on the severity of AVC: those with grade 1 calcification were in group 1, those with grades 2 to 4 in group 2, and those with grades 5 to 6 in group 3. Group 1 patients were significantly younger, less likely to have hypertension and diabetes, and had higher high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels. The genotype frequencies were significantly different among groups, with the insertion/insertion genotype being less prevalent in group 3 patients. In multivariate analysis, independent predictors of severe AVC were hypertension (odds ratio [OR], 5.6; 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.8 to 11.0; P less than .001), low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (OR, 2.7; 95 percent CI, 1.5 to 4.9; P equals .001), and the deletion/deletion and insertion/deletion vs insertion/insertion genotype (OR, 3.2; 95 percent CI, 1.5 to 7.2; P equals .004).These results suggest that ACE gene polymorphism may be associated with severe AVC.
