INTRODUCTION: Many studies are examining the relationship between cardiovascular diseases and triglyceride levels, and it has been shown that hypertriglyceridemia significantly increases the risk independently. In this study, we wanted to investigate whether there is a similar relationship for stroke. METHODS: A total of 619 patients hospitalized with a diagnosis of acute ischemic stroke in our stroke center were included in the study. Demographic information, accompanying risk factors, hemoglobin level, thrombocyte count, triglyceride level, and C reactive protein level at the time of admission, and the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores in the first evaluation were recorded. Also, information about mortality in hospital, recurrent stroke, and the modified Rankin Scale (mRS) scores in the follow-up period was entered in our local database. RESULTS: While 182 patients(32.3%) [78 females (42.9%) and 104 males (57.1%); mean age 64.5 +- 12.01 years] were diagnosed with hypertriglyceridemia, this number was 25(4.4%) patients (13 females (52%) and 12 males (48%); mean age 70.9 +- 17.4 years) for hypotriglyceridemia. Trametes versicolor (L.) Lloyd known as turkey tail, is a medicinal mushroom belonging to the Polyporaceae. Although the consumption and commercial sale of this mushroom in our country is new, it has been used for centuries as a medicine in some countries, especially in China. In this study, it was aimed to determine the antimicrobial and antioxidant effects of ethanol and methanol extracts of T. versicolor. Its antimicrobial effects were determined by disk diffusion and microdilution method using pathogenic microorganisms such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Bacillus megaterium, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans and Trichophyton sp. Total antioxidant level, total oxidant level and DPPH radical scavenging capacity were detected for the antioxidant activity of the mushroom. According to the results obtained, it was seen that these extracts inhibit the growth of microorganisms at different rates (10-21 mm) according to the disk diffusion method. The minimal inhibitory concentrations of T. versicolor against microorganisms used were determined to be between 62.5-250 µg/mL. The TAS and TOS values of the methanol extract were 0.72 mmol Trolox Equiv./L and 18.39, respectively, the TAS and TOS values of the ethanol extract were detected 0.88 mmol Trolox Equiv./L and 16.71 μmol H2O2 Equiv./L, respectively.

INTRODUCTION[|]Despite the lower frequency in the young than the older population, ischemic stroke has a significant impact on the patients and their families, and the society. In this study, ischemic stroke patients under the age of 50 years registered in our stroke database were compared with elderly patients in terms of risk factors and etiologic classification. Furthermore, ischemic stroke etiology with emphasis on uncommon causes in the young population was evaluated.[¤]METHODS[|]In this study, we retrospectively reviewed the data of 619 patients who were admitted with acute ischemic stroke to our hospital between January 2011 and November 2014. The patients were divided into two groups as young ischemic stroke group (patients under the age of 50) and the others with the age of ≥50 years. All registered demographic, clinical and paraclinical data of the patients were evaluated. [¤]RESULTS[|]Thirty-two (5.2%) patients were under 50 years of age and 587 (94.8%) were ≥50 years of age. As vascular risk factors, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, atrial fibrillation, and coronary artery disease were found to be significantly higher in the ≥50 age group (p˂0.05). Patent foramen ovale as a risk factor of stroke was significantly more frequent in the young group. In terms of stroke etiology, cardioembolic causes were the most common in both age groups, but the etiologic subgroup of uncommon causes was found to be more frequent in the younger population.[¤]DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION[|]In our study, the risk factors and etiologic subgroups of stroke in patients younger than fifty years were found different from those in older patients. The relatively higher frequency of uncommon causes of ischemic stroke in the young population should be considered in etiology research and treatment strategies.[¤]

In this study, the effects of different cellulosic wastes on the nutritional values of Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq.) P. Kumm. were investigated. Dry matter, moisture, protein, fat and ash contents of P. ostreatus were analyzed according to AOAC methods. Crude protein and fat contents were determined by the Kjeldahl method and Soxhlet extraction, using ether as a solvent, respectively. Chemical composition of P. ostreatus such as dry matter, moisture, crude protein, fat and organic matter were 93.5-93.7%, 6.3-6.5%, 25.2-33.5%, 1.7-2.5%, 5.3-9.7% and 84.0-88.2% of dry weight, respectvely. There were no significant differences in dry matter and moisture content of P. ostreatus grown on various local residues (p>0.05), but changeable in other nutrient composition (p, Bu çalışmada, farklı selülozik atıkların Pleurotus ostreatus (Jacq.) Ficaria verna Huds. is a plant belonging to the Ranunculaceae family, known as mole grass and celandine among the people. It is known to have anti-inflammatory and anti-haemorrhagic pharmaceutical effects. In this study, it was aimed to determine the antimicrobial effect of different concentrations of F. verna extracts obtained from methanol, ethanol and chloroform and the antioxidant activity of different concentrations of the extract obtained from methanol. In the results obtained, the best antimicrobial effect (17-20 mm) against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Bacillus megaterium, Salmonella thypii and Candida albicans was determined in the methanol extract of F. verna at a concentration of 1000 µg. It was observed that the scavenging effect of the DPPH radical of F. verna increased depending on increasing concentrations., Ficaria verna Huds. halk arasında köstebek otu ve kırlangıç otu adıyla bilinen ve Ranunculaceae familyasına ait bir bitkidir. Antienflamatuar ve antihemorajik gibi farmasötik etkilerinin olduğu bilinmektedir. Halk arasında hemoroide karşı kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada F. verna’nın metanol, etanol ve kloroformdan elde edilen ekstraklarının farklı konsantrasyonlarının antimikrobiyal etkisi ile metanoldan elde edilen ekstresinin farklı konsantrasyonlarının antioksidan aktivitesinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlarda F. verna’nın metanol ekstresi 1000 µg konsantrasonda Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Bacillus megaterium, Salmonella thypii ve Candida albicans’a karşı en iyi antimikrobiyal etki (17-20mm) göstermiştir. F. verna’nın DPPH radikalinin süpürücü etkisinin artan konsantrasyonlara bağlı arttığı gözlemlenmiştir.

Background and Aims: This study aims to investigate the cytotoxicity and DNA protective effects of semi-arid, arid, or desert truffles such as the Terfezia and Picoa species. Methods: The DNA protective effects of the Terfezia and Picoa species was evaluated using plasmid pBR322 DNA treated with UV and H2O2. The cytotoxic effects of water and methanol extracts of the Terfezia and Picoa species on H1299 and HUVEC cells were evaluated using the MTT assay. Results: Higher concentrations of T. olbiensis and P. lefebvrei extracts have demonstrated a DNA protective effect. The water extract of P. juniperi only at a 40 mg/mL concentration demonstrated a DNA-protective effect, whereas T. boudieri extract did not show any DNA-protective effect at all concentrations tested. H1299 cells showed more sensitivity to the water extract of T. olbiensis (4.66%), P. juniperi (12.04%), P. lefebvrei (21.93%), and the methanol extract of T. boudieri (20.93%). In general, the water and methanol extracts of the Terfezia and Picoa species demonstrated the least cytotoxic effects on HUVEC cells, except for the water extract of P. juniperi (38.46%). Conclusions: In conclusion, results obtained from this study show that the Terfezia and Picoa truffle species have potential DNA protective and cancer prevention properties.

Pistacia vera L. (Fıstık)çerez olarak tüketilmesinin yanı sıra birçok hastalığın tedavisindekullanılmaktadır. P. vera’nınantioksidan, antienflamatuvar, hipoglisemik, antiaterojenik gibi biyolojikaktiviteleri ve içerdiği yağlarla makul miktarlarda tüketildiğinde ciltsağlığına iyi geldiği bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada Antep fıstığı dış kırmızımsıkabuğunun metanol, etanol ve hekzan gibi çözücüler kullanılarak elde edilenekstraklarının antimikrobiyal aktivitesi disk diffüzyon metoduna göre tespitedilmiştir. Çalışma için Staphylococcus aureus ATCC25923, Pseudomonas aeruginosa DMS50071, Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC700603 Escherichiacoli ATCC25322, Bacillus subtilisATCC6633, Bacillusmegaterium DSM32 ve Staphylococcus cohnii DSM 20260 gibi bakteriler, fungus olarak Candidaalbicans FMC17 ve Candida globrataATCC66032, dermatofitlerden Trichophytonsp. ve Epidermophyton sp.mikroorganizmaları kullanılmıştır. Sonuçta P.vera’nın dış kabuğunun metanol, etanol ve hekzan ekstraktlarımikroorganizmaların gelişimini farklı oranlarda inhibe etmiştir (8-20 mminhibisyon zonu). P. vera’nın en iyiantimikrobiyal etkiyi etanol ekstraktında gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Bu ekstraktın en fazla C. globarata’nın gelişimini engellediği(20 mm inhibisyon zonu) belirlenmiştir.

Objective: Stroke in people aged less than 45 years is less frequent than in older patients, but has major impacts on both the individual and society. The aim of this study was to determine the etiologic subtypes of acute ischemic stroke in the young. Materials and Methods: We reviewed the hospital records of 619 patients who were admitted with acute ischemic stroke between January 2011 and November 2014. Acute ischemic stroke in the young was defined as patients aged 45 years and under. Demographic data, the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores at admission and detailed investigations aimed at determining etiologic cause were recorded. Etiologic stroke subtypes were determined using the automated Causative Classification System. Modified Rankin Scale (mRS) scores were recorded in the follow-up. Results: There were 32 (5.2%) young patients with acute ischemic stroke. Objective: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of switching from immediate-release pramipexole (pex) to extended-release pramipexole (pex-ER). Materials and Methods: Pex-ER became available in Turkey about a year ago, since then we documented satisfactory information on patients (26 women; 38%) who were switched from pex to pex-ER. We recorded pre- and post-switch pex and levodopa, equivalent doses of other anti-parkinsonian medication, and analyzed the frequency and nature of reported adverse effects. Results: The mean age of the patients was 63.3 years (range, 44-88 years), and the mean disease duration was 7.1 years (range, 1-27 years). The other drugs were levodopa (57 patients, 82.6%), entacapone (24 patients, 34.58%), rasagiline (20 patients, 29%), amantadine (18 patients, 26.1%), and apomorphine (six patients, 8.7%). Switch from pex to pex-ER was uneventful in 62 (91.2%) patients. Adverse events were reported in six (8.8%) patients: ankle swelling (two patients), nausea (one patient), dyskinesia (one patient), hypersexuality (one patient), and psychosis (one patient). Problems resolved with further medication change in two patients. Four patients preferred to return to pex. Conclusion: The great majority of patients (91.2%) switched from three times daily pex to once daily pex-ER uneventfully. A slight increase in pex daily dose, which was tailored according to patients’ symptomatic needs, resulted in an increase in post-switch levodopa equivalent doses. Our experience is compatible with previously reported studies.

Background/aim: Intracranial stenosis (ICS) is identified in 2.2%?70.4% of patients with ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of ICS in a single center registry from Turkey. Materials and methods: We reviewed the charts of 619 patients with acute ischemic stroke. ICS was defined as any ICS > 50% on cerebrovascular imaging. The demographic data, risk factors, NIHSS scores and C reactive protein level at admission, mortality in hospital, recurrent stroke, and mRS in the follow-up period were recorded. Results: A total of 72 (11.6%) patients with ICS (45 males (62.5%); mean age 68.3 ± 12.6 years) were included. Sixty-seven patients (10.8%) had symptomatic ICS and 44 patients (7.1%) had ICS without extracranial stenosis. Diabetes mellitus (DM) was significantly higher in the ICS group compared to the others (P = 0.017). Disability was significantly better in patients with ICS compared to the others (P < 0.001). On logistic regression analysis, DM and follow up mRS were significantly associated with ICS (P < 0.05). Conclusion: ICS was seen in 11.6% of acute ischemic stroke cases in our registry. DM appears to be the major risk factor for ICS. Disability was better in patients with ICS. Ethnicity could be a factor causing better disability.

Huzursuz Bacak Sendromu (HBS) sıklıkla bacaklarda lokalize rahatsız edici duyumlar ve hareket ettirme isteği ile karakterize sensorimotor durumdur. Hastalığın geceleri ve istirahatle şiddetlendiği bilinmektedir. Ancak HBS semptomları gündüz de olabilmektedir. HBS ve dikkat eksikliği hiperaktivite bozukluğu'nun(DEHB) beraber görülme sıklığı popülasyondan yüksektir. Bu çalışmada HBS'de gündüz monoton fiziksel hareketsizlik sırasında hastaların istemsiz bacak hareketlerinin olup olmadığı ve hareketsizliğin/hareket ettirme isteğinin dikkat ve öğrenmeyi bozup bozmadığı araştırılmıştır.Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Nöroloji polikliniğine başvuran 23 HBS, 22 kontrol çalışmaya alınmıştır. Katılımcılar iki oturumda incelenmişlerdir. Birinci oturumda İşitsel Sözel Öğrenme Testi (İSÖT), Sürekli Performans Testi (SPT), Beck depresyon ölçeği, Epworth uykululuk ölçeği, Durumluk ve Sürekli Kaygı Ölçeği (DSKÖ), Erişkin Dikkat Eksikliği Bozukluğu Kendi Değerlendirme Ölçeği (EKDÖ) uygulanmıştır. İkinci oturumda katılımcılara belgesel filmi izletilmiştir. Bu sırada katılımcılar video ile kaydedilmiştir. Belgesel filmi izlerken alt ekstremite hareketleri gözlenerek birbirinden habersiz üç hekim tarafından değerlendirilmiş, her hekim her hastanın hareket sıklığı ve şiddetine dair izlenimini 0-10 arasında bir değerle puanlamıştır.Hastalarla sağlıklı kontrol grubu arasında hareket yoğunluğu bakımından fark bulunmamıştır. Yine; işitsel sözel öğrenme açısından ve genel dikkat yönünden hasta ve kontrol grubu performansları benzer bulunmuştur. Sürekli performans testinde hedef olmayan uyaranlara yanlış yanıt sıklığı HBS grubunda anlamlı olarak daha fazla, cevap verme süresi HBS grubunda anlamlı olarak daha kısa bulunmuştur (p=0,014, p=0,01). İki grup arasında eğitim, yaş, Beck depresyon ölçeği, Epworth uykululuk ölçeği, DSKÖ-1,2, EKDÖ sonuçlarında fark bulunmamıştır.Bu çalışmada HBS hastalarında gündüz istirahat sırasında hareket yoğunluğunda artma olduğu yönünde kanıt elde edilmemiştir. Yani çalışmamızın temel sonucu HBS hastalarının gündüzleri istemsiz bacak hareketi yapmadıkları, kendilerini harekete sevk edecek yoğunlukta bacak huzursuzluğu hissetmedikleridir. Aynı şekilde; gündüz öğrenme ve dikkat performanslarının etkilenmemiş olması da gündüz huzursuzluğunun olmadığı/hayatı etkilemediği yönünde yorumlanmıştır.Bu çalışmanın bir başka bulgusu ise HBS hastalarının sağlıklı bireylerden daha dürtüsel oldukları yönündedir. Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) is a sensorimotor neurological disorder that causes pain in the legs, causing the legs to move following an abnormal sensation. Although it is known that the disease is aggravated in the night and rest, symptoms may occur during the daytime. RLS and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have been found to coexist frequently. In this study, it was researched whether involuntary limb movements exist during daytime physical inactivity as well as if there is an attention defisit in RLS patients.Twenty three RLS, age and education matched 22 controls ,admitted to Ankara University Hospital Neurology outpatient clinic ,were examined in two sessions. In the first session, Auditory Verbal Learning Test (AVLT), Continuous Performance Test (CPT), Beck Depression Scale, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, State and Trait Anxiety Scale (STAI) and Adult Attention Deficit Disorder Self Assessment Scale (ASRS) were administered. In the second session, the participants were recorded on videotape while watching a documentary film. Participants were assessed by three physicians who were blinded of each other, observing the lower extremity movements in the video. Each physician scored the impression of each patient's movement frequency and severity with a score between 0-10.There was no difference in motion intensity between the patients and the healthy control group. Again; The performance of the patient and control group were found to be similar in terms of auditory verbal learning and general attention. In the continuous performance test, the error of commission was significantly more in the RLS group and the response time was significantly shorter in the RLS group (p = 0.014, p = 0.01). There were no differences in education, age, Beck Depression Scale, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, STAI-1, 2, and ASRS scores between two groups.No evidence has been obtained in this study that there is an increase in movement intensity during daytime rest in RLS patients. So the main result of our study is that RLS patients do not have involuntary leg movements during the daytime, and they do not feel leg discomfort at the intensity that will drive them to action. In the same way; daytime learning and attention performances were not affected, it was interpreted as daytime restlessness doesn't exist and has no affect on the quality of life.Another finding of this study is that RLS patients are more impulsive than healthy individuals. 76

ÖZETBu çalışmada; Elazığ ili Baskil ilçesi ve çevrelerinde doğal olarak yetişen Terfezia claveryi'nin besinsel içerikleri, antioksidan ve antimikrobiyal aktivitelerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Terfezia claveryi'nin kuru madde oranı % 89.5975, ham kül oranı % 0.04129, ham yağ oranı % 0.03433, ham protein miktarı % 15.3125, organik madde içeriği % 83.477, enerji miktarı % 399.9889 kcal ve nem oranı ise % 10.4025 olarak saptanmıştır. Makro ve mikro element miktarları ise K 52.5 mg/kg, Na 560 mg/kg, Fe 2.7635 mg/kg, Zn 0.371 mg/kg, Ca 0.58 mg/kg olarak belirlenmiştir. Terfezia claveryi'nin total antioksidan seviyesi 1.1816 µmol/l ve total oksidan seviyesi 3.4506 µmol/l olarak tespit edilmiştir. Terfezia claveryi'nin total antioksidan seviyesinin çok iyi olmadığı bunun aksine total oksidan seviyesinin çok iyi olduğu saptanmıştır.Terfezia claveryi'nin yapılan çalışmalar sonucunda DNA koruyucu aktivitesi pBR322 plazmit DNA'sı kullanılarak belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır ve bunun sonucunda mantar türünün herhangi bir DNA koruyucu aktivitesinin olmadığı tespit edilmiştir.Terfezia claveryi'nin antimikrobiyal çalışması sonucunda mikroorganizmaların düşük konsantrasyonlar da bile etki gösterdiği görümüştür. The amounts of macro and micro elements were measured as K 52.5 mg / kg, Na 560 mg / kg, Fe 2.76 mg / kg, Zn 0.37 mg / kg and Ca 0.58 mg/kg. The total antioxidant level of Terfezia claveryi was 1.1816 μmol / l and the total oxidant level was 3.4506 μmol / l. The total antioxidant level of Terfezia claveryi is not very good, contrary to the fact that, it has been found that the level of total oxidant is very good.In the result of the studies of Terfezia claveryi, the DNA protective activity was studied to be determined by using the plasmid DNA pBR322, and it was determined that there was no DNA protective activity of the fungal strain.In the result of antimicrobial work of Terfezia claveryi, microorganisms have been shown to be effective even at low concentrations. Osmanlı Devleti 320 yıl boyunca dünyanın ileri gelen devletleri arasında yer almıştır. Kuruluşundan yıkılışına kadar halkın ihtiyaç duyduğu han, hamam, cami, medrese, sıbyan mektebi, kütüphane, mescit ve bunların bir çoğunu içinde barındıran külliyeler inşa etmişlerdir. Eğitim alanında, sınırları içerisinde kalan, büyük küçük demeden her yerleşim merkezinde yapılar yapmışlardır. Selçukluların devamı niteliğinde görebileceğimiz eğitim yapıları içerisinde kütüphaneleri, medreseleri, sıbyan mekteplerini sıralayabiliriz. Çocukların eğitime ilk başladıkları, dönemin ilkokulları olarak adlandırabileceğimiz sıbyan mektepleri, küçük ölçekli, gözü yormayan sade bir mimariye sahip yapılardır. Osmanlı Devleti'nin hüküm sürdüğü birçok şehirde görebileceğimiz sıbyan mekteplerinin örneklerine Manisa'da da rastlamaktayız. Bir eğitim kurumu olan bu mekteplerden önce insanoğlunun yaşamaya başladığı ilk yüzyıllardan Osmanlı'ya kadar olan eğitim tarihi; Avrupa eğitim tarihi ve Türk Eğitim Tarihi olarak iki ana başlıkta özetlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Ayrı bir başlık altında yer verilen Osmanlı eğitim tarihinde ise kuruluşundan yıkılışına kadar eğitim öğretim veren tüm kurumlar hakkında bilgi verilip örneklendirilmiştir. Devamında sıbyan mekteplerinin tanımı, gelişimi, fonksiyonu, öğretim ve idari sistemi ve mimarisi incelenmiştir. Mimarisi incelenirken İstanbul Üsküdar Mihrimah Sultan Külliyesi Sıbyan Mektebine ait fotoğraflar, vaziyet planı, plan, görünüş, kesit ve perspektif çizimlerine yer verilmiştir. Tez konumuz olan Osmanlı dönemi Manisa sıbyan mektepleri ile ilgili yapılan çalışmalarda varlığını tarihi kaynaklardan öğrendiğimiz ancak bugün mevcut olmayan 29 sıbyan mektebi yer almaktadır. Bununla beraber halen mevcut olan 6 sıbyan mektebi değerlendirilmiştir. Değerlendirme; yeri ve bugünkü durumu, inşa tarihi ve banisi, mimarı ve ustaları, kitabesi, mimarisi ve tezyinatı, malzeme ve teknik özellikleri, geçirdiği tamirat ve tadilatlar ana başlıklarında yapılmıştır. Ayrıca mekteplerin rölöveleri alınarak, vaziyet planı, plan ve cepheleri çizilmiştir. İstanbul, yapımlarına Fatih Sultan Mehmet Dönemi'nde başlanan sıbyan mekteplerinin en güzel örneklerini barındırmaktadır. Osmanlı Devleti'nde önemli bir yeri olan Şehzadeler Şehri Manisa ile İstanbul sıbyan mektepleri; şehir içindeki yeri, mimari özellikleri, tavan ve örtü sistemi ve süslemesi ana başlıkları altında İstanbul'da plan, vaziyet planı ve fotoğraflarla desteklediğimiz örneklerle birlikte karşılaştırılmıştır. Küçük ölçekli olan ve haklarında fazla kaynak olmayan sıbyan mekteplerinin özellikle mahalle mektebi görünümünde olanlar kaderine terk edilmiş durumdadır. Çalışmamızdaki amaç kültürel kimliğimizin bir parçası olan sıbyan mekteplerine hak ettiği ilginin gösterilmesi ve gelecek kuşaklara özgün nitelikleriyle aktarılmasını sağlamaktır., Ottoman Empire was one of the leading states for 320 years. From the beginning to collapse, Ottomans constructed the buildings like hotels, baths, mosques, universities, sibyan schools, library and a collection of buildings of an institution composed of schools, a mosque, lunatic asylum, hospital, kitchen and bath, which their people need. They have constructed many buildings on education in every town, whether they are big or small, in their huge territory we can see library, university and sibyan schools as educational building which are the continuing style of Seljuk Empire. Sibyan schools, which can be described as primary schools where the children have their first education, have a small plain architecture which doesn?t give harm to eyes. In Manisa, we can find the examples of sibyan schools as we can come across every place the Ottomans reigned. Before studying these schools, the education from creation to Ottoman Empire is divided into two main headings: The history of European education and The history of Turkish education. Under the heading of the history of Ottoman Education, the information about all educational buildings from the beginning to collapse of the empire have been given and they have been exampled. Then, the description of Sibyan Schools, their development, functions, educations and administral system and architecture have been examined. While examining, its architecture, plan, photograph, section, perspective, drawings are presented. In this study, we have studied 29 sibyan schools which we have learnt their existence from historical sources and do not exist any more at the moment. In addition, that we have studied 6 sibyan schools which are still present. The study is done under the following headings; its place, date of construction, architecture, architect, decoration, the technical aspects and material the repairs they have had and today?s state. Besides, taking their roloves, their plan, stance plan, front of buildings was drawn. Istanbul has the most beatiful examples of Sibyan schools which began to be constructed during Fatih the Conqueror?s period. The Sibyan schools in Istanbul and Manisa have been compared with each other according to their place in a city, architectural aspects, roof and cover systems, decoration. The small sibyan schools, which we don?t have much information about and be built in suburbs were left their fate. One of our aims is to give deserved importance to the Sibyan schools which are part of our culture and to narrate them with their own features to the next generations.
