To compare the associations of three surrogate markers of insulin resistance (IR) [glucose and triglycerides (TyG index), TyG index with BMI (TyG-BMI), and the ratio of triglycerides divided by HDL-C (TG/HDL-C)] with hypertensive patients (HTN) plus hyperuricemia (HUA) (HTN-HUA) in young, non-obese individuals. Methods: Data from a cross-sectional epidemiological study of an annual health check-up population aged younger than 66 years were used to calculate the three IR surrogate indexes. The association with HTN-HUA and insulin resistance surrogates was examined with multinomial logistic regression and a receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results: A total of 6952 participants were included, including 671 (9.65%) participants with HTN alone, 272 (3.91%) participants with HUA alone, and 62 (0.90%) participants with HTN and HUA. Binary multiple-logistic regression results showed that TG/HDL-C was significantly correlated with HTN, HUA, and HTN-HUA. Compared with the lowest quartile, the odds ratios (95% CI) of the highest quartile of TG/HDL-C for HTN-HUA were 3.462 (1.138~10.530). TG/HDL-C and TyG-BMI had moderate discriminative abilities for HTN-HUA, and the area under the curve was 0.748 (0.682~0.815), 0.746 (0.694~0.798). Conclusion: Our study suggests that TG/HDL-C had a significant correlation with HTN-HUA and that TG/HDL-C had moderate discriminative abilities for HTN-HUA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

DW871 is a Brassica napus dwarf line with unusual and excellent plant type. To study the dwarf-related genes and their expression patterns of DW871. we took B. napus HW871 as control and selected stem tissues at the bolting stage for transcriptome gene expression analysis. Results showed that there were 8665 significant differentially expressed genes between DW871 and HW881. of which 2582 were up-regulated and 6083 down-regulated. The enrichment analysis of GO could be annotated to 22 subcategories in 3 categories. the enrichment analysis of KEGG was annotated to 295 pathways in 31 subcategories in 5 categories. We screened genes closely related to dwarfing traits from significantly different genes, 43 in pectin degradation, 69 in auxin signal transduction, and annotated 22 in the monolignol biosynthesis. It was found that the dwarfing character of DW871 was related to cell elongation, abnormal cell wall formation and cell division, and obstruction of auxin signal transduction. In particular, in monolignol biosynthesis, it is possible to regulate a series of physiological and biochemical processes related to lignin by regulating the expression of enzymes such as PAL and CCR. The differential genes related to dwarfing traits were screened in this research. It could be hypothesized that the dwarfing mechanism of DW871 involving abnormal auxin response and lignin synthesis, which lead to abnormal cell elongation, growth and cell wall changes, and ultimately lead to the dwarfing of DW871. Objective To investigate the outcome on 90 d and influencing factors for the outcome in conscious patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Methods Two hundred and twenty - five patients with ICH were admitted to our hospital within 6 h after onset and were suitable to be treated with medical conservative therapy. Patients were divided into two groups, the conscious group [Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score ⩾ 9] and the coma group (GCS score ⩽ 8). Clinical features including gender, age, National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score, etc, were recorded. The prognosis of these patients on 90 d after onset was evaluated by the following index: survival or death; favorable prognosis [modified Rankin Scale (mRS) score ⩽ 2] or unfavorable prognosis (mRS score ⩾ 3, death or severe disability). The difference of clinical features and prognosis between the conscious group and coma group was explored. The prognosis of the patients in conscious group was analyzed, and influencing factors for prognosis were explored. Results Multifactorial Logistic regression analysis indicated that hyperglycemia, higher NIHSS score, rehemorrhagia and hematemesis were independent risk factors for 90-day mortality. On the other hand, advanced age, higher NIHSS score, rehemorrhagia and hematemesis were independent risk factors for death or severe disability on 90 - day. Conclusion In ICH patients who were conscious on admission, hyperglycemia, advanced age, higher NIHSS score, rehemorrhagia and hematemesis are strong predictors for mortality and unfavourable outcome. Controlling hyperglycemia and prevention of rehemorrhagia and hematemesis are important elements for reducing 90-day mortality and severe disability. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The incidence of hyperbilirubinemia is high clinically, which is difficult to cure by medication, surgery or interventional therapies. Non-bioartificial liver is the main alternative in the blood purification for hyperbilirubinemia, which includes plasma exchange, hemoperfusion, hemodialysis, molecular adsorbent recycling system and so on. The research results and clinical experiences in China show that these methods are effective in lowering high levels of bilirubin with fewer side effects. The hyperbilirubinemias of different causes, with different complications or accompanying different diseases can be treated by different methods. Bioartificial liver, hybrid artificial liver support system and adsorbent membrane material have also been studied and their development in reducing hyperbilirubinemias has been achieved. This article gives a brief overview on the actuality and research improvement in blood purification for hyperbilirubinemia in China.
