5. Internal and External Factors Influencing Rural Households' Investment Intentions in Building Photovoltaic Integration Projects.

Abstract

Building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) contributes to promoting green and low-carbon transformation in rural areas. In order to better guide rural households to invest in BIPV projects and promote the goal of "carbon neutrality" in China's building sector, this study integrates the theory of planned behavior (TPB), the social cognitive theory (SCT), and the PEST analysis framework. It constructs a theoretical model from the perspective of "External Factors-Internal Psychology-Investment Intention" to investigate rural households' investment intentions toward BIPV projects and their influencing factors. Basic data were collected from 488 valid questionnaires from rural households in Henan Province, and the theoretical model was empirically tested using structural equation modeling. The results show that the model constructed from both internal and external factors effectively explains rural households' investment intentions (II) toward BIPV projects (R2 = 0.89), with investment attitude (IA) being the strongest psychological motivation leading to their II. All four external factors—policy, economic, social, and technological—positively influence II with diminishing effects. Additionally, the policy factor has the most significant effect on IA, while the economic factor has a more prominent effect on perceived behavioral control (PBC), and the technological factor has a relatively weaker effect on the two psychological factors. Furthermore, the four external factors indirectly influence investment intentions through the two psychological factors of IA and PBC, with the mediating effect of IA being higher than PBC. Abstract

China proposed the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in 2013, providing itself with a stable foundation to deepen the gas cooperation with signatories. However, such activities would inevitably confront the cross-cultural challenges that go hand in hand with lucrative opportunities. This paper explores the net policy effects of BRI in the aspects of economy, politics, and culture, together with other impacts from the national traits and the resource types. Results show that there does exist a significant BRI net policy effect on the host country’s GDP per capita and Chinese oversea projects’ net cash flow. But there’s no significance in reducing the political distance & cultural distance between the host county and China. While gas, as vital low-carbon fossil energy, does have brought changes quite differently from the traditional oil business, not only to the host country but also to Chinese investment. What’s more, even in the same country, value divergence exists between the official government & the masses. Finally, Chinese oil & gas investment preference is known for “high risk, high return” and an inclination to countries with a similar social hierarchy to its own.

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite (HAP) is a widely used biomaterial for bone tissue substitution due to its chemical similarity with the natural bone. Defect-related luminescent HAP materials have the same chemical composition as normal HAP and excellent biocompatibility. However, only few works have focused on the defect-related luminescent HAP materials on bone regeneration. In this work, we systematically investigated the bone regeneration pathway induced by nanostructured particles using defect-related luminescent hydroxyapatite (S2) materials. We monitored the subcellular distribution and location of S2 during osteoblast differentiation with the property of defect-related luminescence. Nano-scale S2 could be internalized by osteoblasts (OBs) via caveolae-mediated endocytosis and macropinocytosis. S2 incorporated into the lysosomes dissolved and released calcium ions for the formation of mineralized nodules. Extracellular S2 also promoted bone regeneration as a nucleation site. Taken together, the physical properties of hydroxyapatite control the bone regeneration pathway in osteoblasts.

Abstract

Purpose To evaluate the roles of ADP-ribosylation factor (ARF) in alkali-induced corneal neovascularization (CNV). Methods CNV was induced by alkali injury and compared in ARF1 inhibitor– or vehicle-treated mice 3 weeks after injury. Angiogenic and apoptosis factor expression in corneas after injury was quantified with reverse-transcription PCR. Human retinal endothelial cell apoptosis induced by ARF1 inhibitor was detected with flow cytometry. Results The mRNA expression of ARF1 was augmented in the corneas after alkali injury. Compared with vehicle-treated mice, ARF1 inhibitor–treated mice exhibited impaired CNV 3 weeks after injury, as evidenced by corneal whole mount CD31-staining. Concomitantly, the enhancement of intraocular vascular endothelial growth factor expression was reduced in ARF1 inhibitor–treated mice compared to control mice after injury. Moreover, local administration of the ARF1 inhibitor after alkali injury enhanced intraocular caspase-3 expression. ARF1 inhibitor treatment can significantly induce human retinal endothelial cell apoptosis. Conclusions The ARF1 inhibitor can induce the regression of alkali-induced CNV through increased endothelial cell apoptosis and downregulated intracorneal VEGF expression. ARF1 is an effective intervention target for CNV.

Abstract

This paper analyzed the process of the LCD and the industrial structure in the typical countries to reveal the Causality Relationship between LCD and Industrial Structure. First, most of the developed countries industry have experienced the high-carbon period. When the economy evolved to a certain extent, the base level of the LCD increased. And In developing countries, especially in China, the tertiary industry shared a much smaller part in the whole economy system comparing with that of the developed countries. Then, Based on the output of regression analysis, the appreciable correlation between the LCD and the industrial structure was found. Finally, the results of Granger causality tests lead to the conclusion that the tertiary industry of China is the Granger cause of the LCD within 98 percent confidence intervals. It suggests that the industry structure should be adjusted before the LCD, especially the development of tertiary industry.

40. Genetic segregation analysis of unsaturated fatty acids content in the filial generations of high-linolenic-acid rapeseed (Brassica napus)

Abstract

Alpha linolenic acid (ALA) is an essential polyunsaturated fatty acids that can improve human health. Rapeseed is the second largest oil crop in the world but the ALA content in its seed fatty acids is only about 10%. Two rapeseed germplasms YH25005 and R8Q10 with high content (up to 21%) ALA were developed by intervarietal crossing. They were used as the maternal parent (P1) when crossed with a low ALA parent SW (P2) to produce the seeds of the F1hybrid, F2, and backcrosses to P1(BCP1) and P2(BCP2). A multigeneration joint segregation analysis was conducted to determine major gene + polygene effects of the content of three major unsaturated fatty acids including oleic (OA), linoleic (LA) and ALA. The results showed that, although some genes favorable to ALA accumulation were not allelic in R8Q10 and YH25005, all the inheritances of OA, LA and ALA in YH25005×SW and R8Q10×SW followed a genetic model of ‘two pairs of additive major genes + additive-dominant polygenes’. It is suggested that the contents of OA, LA and ALA are closely related and the major genes in the parent SW containing loss-of- function mutations in FAD2and FAD3loci had strong effect to reduce ALA and elevate OA. However, total genetic effect of the polygenes was greater than that of the two major genes, especial on ALA content. It indicated that it is necessary to employ a larger F2population to find the plant that accumulate enough minor-effect polygenes for high ALA content. The results are useful for high ALA rapeseed breeding and future work of gene mapping.

41. A comparative analysis of chloroplast genomes revealed the chloroplast heteroplasmy of Artemisia annua .

Abstract

Artemisia annua L. is the main source of artemisinin, an antimalarial drug. High diversity of morphological characteristics and artemisinin contents of A. annua has affected the stable production of artemisinin while efficient discrimination method of A. annua strains is not available. The complete chloroplast (cp) genomes of 38 A. annua strains were assembled and analyzed in this study. Phylogenetic analysis of Artemisia species showed that distinct intraspecific divergence occurred in A. annua strains. A total of 38 A. annua strains were divided into two distinct lineages, one lineage containing widely-distributed strains and the other lineage only containing strains from northern China. The A. annua cp genomes ranged from 150, 953 to 150, 974 bp and contained 131 genes, and no presence or absence variation of genes was observed. The IRs and SC junctions were located in rps 19 and ycf 1, respectively, without IR contraction observed. Rich sequence polymorphisms were observed among A. annua strains, and a total of 60 polymorphic sites representing 14 haplotypes were identified which unfolding the cpDNA heteroplasmy of A. annua . 42. Ursolic Acid Inhibits Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition through the Axl/NF- κ B Pathway in Gastric Cancer Cells.

Abstract

Background: Ursolic acid (UA) is an antitumor component derived from Chinese herbal medicine; this study is to observe the effects of UA on epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in gastric cancer., Methods: (1) In vitro experiments: 25 μ mol/L and 50 μ mol/L UA were applied to BGC-823, AGS, MGC-803, and HGC-27 cells; MTT staining, Transwell assay, and flow cytometry were used to assess cell proliferation, cell migration, and apoptosis, respectively. Western blot was performed to detect the expressions of N-Cadherin, Vimentin, Snail, Twist, Axl, p-Axl, IKK, p-IKK, NF- κ B, and p-NF- κ B. (2) In vivo experiments: Ten BALB/c-nu mice were used to establish gastric cancer xenograft model. Five were orally given UA for 4 weeks and five were given normal saline. Expressions of N-Cadherin and Snail were examined by immunohistochemical assay; expressions of N-Cadherin, Snail, Twist, Axl, p-Axl, IKK, and p-IKK were detected by Western blot., Results: (1) UA inhibited cell proliferation in BGC-823 and HGC-27 cells in dose-dependent manners. (2) UA inhibited cell migration in BGC-823, AGS, and MGC-803 cells while inducing apoptosis in BGC-823 cells. (3) UA significantly decreased the expressions of N-Cadherin, Vimentin, Snail, Twist p-Axl, p-IKK α / β , and p-NF- κ B in BGC-823 and MGC-803 cells. (4) UA distinctly decreased the expressions of N-Cadherin, Snail, p-Axl, and p-IKK α / β in gastric cancer xenograft model rats., Conclusion: UA can effectively inhibit the proliferation and migration and induce apoptosis of gastric cancer cells. The antitumor effect of UA is conducted by EMT inhibition, which may be associated with the regulation of Axl/NF- κ B signaling pathway.
