Abstract

A human antibody library was constructed using phage surface-display technology. This antibody library was screened for hepatitis B surface antigen-specific (HBsAg) binders. Further characterization showed that high affinity antibodies with different sequences could be selected. Furthermore, the antigen recognition by the antibodies is dependent on the heavy chain, while the light chains are more promiscuous. The isolation of these antibodies is a step toward developing more antibody-based immunizing agents for the hepatitis B virus.
