The paper aims at presenting the linguistic attitudes and the underlying ideologies of the students of the Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania towards their mother tongue and the Romanian language. It provides a brief summary of the most important theoretical aspects entailed (definitions and an overview of the Hungarian sociolinguistic research on linguistic attitudes and ideologies) with special regard to István Lanstyák’s classification of linguistic ideologies. The paper continues with the presentation of the University, of the population and the sample used in the research, and the distribution of the respondents by faculty, sex, age, place of origin, nationality and mother tongue. In the following chapter, the perceived Romanian competence and the attitudes of the students towards the Romanian language is discussed. The last part of the paper gives a qualitative analysis of the responses to the question Where do you think is the most beautiful Hungarian spoken?, focusing on the issues of linguistic attitudes of the students and the ideologies behind them regarding their opinions on the most beautiful variety of the Hungarian language.

Este trabajo explora las actitudes lingüísticas de los extremeños hacia el idioma portugués. Se analizan más de 450 encuestas realizadas a individuos de las comunidades de Cáceres y de Badajoz sobre actitudes afectivas, cognitivas y conductuales. El cuestionario se reparte de forma on-line y con la ayuda de un software personalizado. El primer trabajo de campo se desarrolló bajo un cuestionario de entrevistas en las localidades de Elvas y Valencia de Alcántara, con el objetivo de comparar las actitudes de ambos países y extraer el cuestionario definitivo que sería repartido de forma on-line al sector de la población extremeña. En el segundo trabajo de campo se crearon los cuestionarios para ser distribuidos en esta región; el presente trabajo muestra los resultados más relevantes. Por un lado, hemos constatado que, a pesar de la situación geográfica, los entrevistados sienten un profundo respeto por la lengua del otro lo cual habla en favor de una conciencia lingüística positiva. Por otro lado, se demuestra la existencia de un creciente interés por la lengua portuguesa en territorio extremeño, en el cual, después del inglés, todavía se prefiere estudiar portugués debido a las emergentes relaciones hispano-lusas., This paper explores the linguistic attitudes of Extremadurans to the Portuguese. More than 450 surveys on affective, cognitive and behavioral attitudes were completed by people in the communities of Cáceres and Badajoz. The questionnaire was distributed and conducted on-line with the help of custom software. The initial field work was developed by using a questionnaire and interviews in the towns of Elvas and Valencia de Alcántara, in order to compare the attitudes of both countries and take results of these interviews and develop the final questionnaire for our target population which was the second part of the fieldwork. This paper aims to present the most relevant results from these surveys. In the analysis of the results, we found that, despite the geographical location, the respondents feel a deep respect for the other's language which speaks in favor of a positive linguistic awareness. More importantly, it proves the existence of a growing interest in Extremadura towards learning the Portuguese language, in which, after English, the study of Portuguese is preferred due to emerging Spanish and Portuguese relations.

A la Catalunya del Nord, el català es troba en un estat avançat de substitució lingüística i el sistema educatiu immersiu en aquesta llengua és un model minoritari, la qual cosa té conseqüències en la formació identitària i psicosocial dels seus alumnes. Aquest article té com a objectius: identificar i analitzar les actituds lingüístiques i les representacions socials vers el català i el francés de l’alumnat de les escoles immersives, així com examinar les relacions amb els factors invariables, com ara l’edat i el sexe biològic, i establir patrons amb la llengua inicial. Gràcies a les entrevistes qualitatives a quinze antics alumnes, hem pogut determinar l’existència de cinc prejudicis lingüístics: parlar català considerat com a situació artificial, parlar francés com a acte de rebel·lia, la inseguretat lingüística, l’autoodi i la incertesa identitària. Així doncs, les cinc actituds identificades tenen una major incidència entre els parlants amb L1 francés, però sobretot entre les dones. A partir dels resultats, proposem una sèrie de mesures i polítiques lingüístiques centrades en el capgirament de l’actual situació sociolingüística del jovent de les escoles immersives. In Northern Catalonia, Catalan is in an advanced state of language substitution and the Catalan immersive schools are a minority educative system, which has some consequences on students’ identity and psychosocial construction. This paper aims to identify and analyse the linguistic attitudes and social representations towards Catalan and French of students from these immersive schools, as well as to examine the relations with invariable factors, such as age and biological sex, and to establish patterns with the initial language. I examined fifteen testimonies from former students at the immersive schools and I identify five linguistic attitudes: speaking Catalan considered an artificial situation, speaking French considered an act of rebellion, linguistic insecurity, self-hatred, and identity uncertainty. The results show that linguistic prejudices have a greater incidence among speakers with L1 French, but especially among women. Based on these results, I propose several measures and policies focused on turning around the current sociolinguistic situation of young people in Northern Catalonia immersive schools.

Tradicinės dialektologijos metodologija - stebėjimo ir aprašymo principai - leidžia nubrėžti tikslias kalbinių ypatybių izogloses, skiriančias tarmes, šnektas tarpusavyje. Taip sukuriamas daugmaž tikslus geografinę tarminių formų distribuciją atspindintis žemėlapis. Tačiau, nors tyrėjų sudaryti žemėlapiai nestokoja objektyvumo, patikimumo, juose užfiksuota tik dalis informacijos apie tarminę diferenciaciją. Perceptyvinės dialektologijos tyrimų strategijos leidžia kurti apibendrintą tarminio diskurso vaizdinį ir identifikuoti suvokimo izogloses, kurios žymi dialektų kontinuumo eilinių vartotojų ir vertintojų sąmonėje ribas. Šiame straipsnyje analizuojamas mentalinis Lietuvos dialektų žemėlapis. Tyrimo pagrindas - empiriniai "žemėlapio" užduoties duomenys, gauti atlikus kompleksinį "Tarminio kalbėjimo suvokimo ir vertinimo" tyrimą 2004-2006 m. Tyrime dalyvavo 548 vieno amžiaus kontingento, t. y. 13-17 metų, įvairių Lietuvos regionų tiriamieji. Tiriamieji lokalizavo žemėlapyje ir kvalifikavo du tarminius tekstus: A tekstui nebūdingos nei skiriamosios rytų aukštaičių ypatybės, nei skiriamosios anykštėnų ypatybės, tačiau kai kurios kitos tarminės ypatybės reiškiasi; B tekstui būdingos skiriamosios rytų aukštaičių ypatybės, skiriamosios anykštėnų ypatybės bei kai kurios kitos tarminės ypatybės. Remiantis tyrimo duomenimis, straipsnyje formuluojami pirminiai apibendrinimai dėl Lietuvos dialektų mentalinio žemėlapio. Dialekto kompetencija tik iš dalies susijusi su gebėjimu suprasti, atpažinti dialektų skirtumus. Netikslus mentalinis žemėlapis implikuoja įžvalgas dėl viešojo kito kodo (greičiausiai bendrinės kalbos) prestižo. Dialekto kompetencija atspindi ir stereotipines dialekto vertes. Mentaliniame dialektų žemėlapyje linkstama kurti aktualiąją distanciją, t. y. padidinti atstumą ir sąmoningai meluoti dialekto vietą. Ryškų tarminį tekstą yra linkstama lokalizuoti Žemaitijoje. Iš to galima teigti, kad tarminis diskursas pirmiausia yra asocijuojamas su Žemaitijos regionu. The methodology of traditional dialectology, i.e. the principles of observation and description, allow for the drawing of the precise isoglosses of linguistic characteristics that distinguish various dialects and subdialects. In such a way, a more or less precise map is constructed that reflects the geographic distribution of the dialectal forms. However, although the maps worked out by researchers do not lack objectivity or reliability, they offer only partial information about dialect differentiation. The strategies of perceptual dialectology allow for the creation of a general image of the dialectal discourse and identification of perceptual isoglosses that mark the boundaries of dialect continuum in the consciousness of ordinary users and estimators. Since the subjective boundaries of dialects are related to the discursive and dialect competence of the members of language community, the feeling of language, language taste and language attitudes, the maps produced by non-professionals introduce the cultural connotation of dialect differentiation. The paper aims at the analysis of the mental map of Lithuanian dialects. The research has been based on the empirical data of ‘map' task obtained during the complex test titled Perception and Estimation of the Dialectal Discourse carried out in 2004-2006. 548 respondents 13-17 year old, participated in it, representing different regions of Lithuania. Two dialectal texts were localized on the map and qualified by the respondents: Text A did not show any distinct East-Highland dialect characteristics or distinct Anykštėnai elements but reflected some other dialectal characteristics; Text B distinguished itself by the distinct East-Higland accent features, the distinct Anykštėnai elements and some other dialectal characteristics. The paper offers the primary generalisations worked out on the basis of the experimental data with respect to the mental map of Lithuanian dialects. The dialect competence is only partially related to the capacity to perceive and recognize dialect differences. An imprecise mental map implies insights concerning the public prestige of another code , i.e. dialectal expression is not considered to be the prestigious code among the respondents of language groups. Thus, the dialect competence also reflects the stereotype values of the dialect, i.e. a non-attractive dialect negatively connoted from the social point of view is not recognized and localized far from the area of the estimating region. The mental map of dialects shows an inclination to form a relevant distance, i.e. to enlarge the distance and consciously lie about the locus of the dialect. The text with a distinct dialectal expression is often localized in the Lowlands. It may be concluded that the dialectal discourse is first and foremost associated with the Lowland area. As a certain imagination of the locus, the mental map acquires clarity only when commented. Hence, when speaking about the mental map, other components of the perceptual analysis should be taken into consideration. The assessment of the regularity, intelligibility, attractiveness of the Standard language reveals a more precise and more detailed mental map of the dialect or dialect image. It may even explain its geographic precision or imprecision.

Resumen Este artículo describe los aspectos afectivos de las actitudes lingüísticas de estudiantes de diferentes zonas geolectales de Colombia que ingresan a una universidad de la ciudad de Cali. Esta ciudad se caracteriza por su pluralidad cultural y dialectal, en parte debido a las migraciones forzadas desde zonas marcadas por el conflicto armado. Además, en años recientes, el Estado colombiano ha impulsado el ingreso a las universidades de jóvenes estudiantes académicamente sobresalientes, provenientes en su mayoría de zonas rurales. La diversidad de usos de la lengua que los estudiantes han construido en sus contextos de origen puede entrar en tensión con las dinámicas del ámbito universitario. A partir de una perspectiva mentalista en la que priman los fenómenos internos susceptibles de autoobservación, buscamos extrapolar los aspectos afectivos de las actitudes lingüísticas de la población estudiada a través de un matched-guise y un cuestionario, instrumentos que indagan por las percepciones respecto a cinco dialectos que se encuentran con frecuencia en la universidad. Los resultados evidencian valoraciones distintas de los dialectos y una consideración del dialecto bogotano como central, prestigioso y estándar, asociado fuertemente a las formas de oralidad académica. Abstract This paper describes the affective features of the linguistic attitudes of students from different geolectal areas of Colombia who attend to a university in Cali. This city is characterized by its cultural and dialectal plurality, partly due to forced migrations from armed conflict areas. In addition, in recent years, the Colombian State has boosted the access of top students to the university, mostly from rural areas. The diversity of uses of the language that students have built in their home contexts could get in tension with the dynamics of the college environment. From a mentalist perspective in which internal phenomena susceptible of self-observation prevail, it seeks to extrapolate the affective features of the linguistic attitudes of the population studied through a matched-guise and a questionnaire, instruments that inquire perceptions regarding five dialects very frequent used in the university. The results show different assessments of the dialects and an opinion on the Bogota accent as central, prestigious and standard, strongly associated with forms of academic orality. Résumé Cet article décrit les aspects affectifs des attitudes linguistiques des étudiants de différentes régions géolectales de Colombie, qui commencent leurs études dans une université quelconque de la ville de Cali. Cette ville est connue par sa pluralité culturelle et dialectale, due, en quelque sort, aux migrations forcées et successives en provenance de zones touchées par des conflits armés. En outre, au cours des dernières années, l'État colombien a favorisé l'entrée de jeunes étudiants, en provenance notamment des zones rurales, avec de très hautes performances académiques, à l'université, La diversité d'usages de la langue auxquels les étudiants ont donné vie dans leur contexte d'origine peut entrer en conflit avec la dynamique du monde universitaire. Dans une perspective mentaliste, où des phénomènes internes susceptibles de s'auto-observer sont privilégiés, nous cherchons à extrapoler les aspects affectifs des attitudes linguistiques de la population objet d'étude, à travers une démarche d'accouplement et un questionnaire, outils qui cherchent à établir les perceptions concernant cinq dialectes que l'on retrouve assez souvent chez les étudiants à l'université. Les résultats montrent évaluations différentes des dialectes et une prise en compte du dialecte de Bogota, associé étroitement aux formes d'oralité académique, comme étant le plus accepté, prestigieux et standard. Resumo Este artigo descreve os aspectos afetivos das atitudes lingüísticas de estudantes de diferentes áreas geográficas da Colômbia que ingressam em uma universidade na cidade de Cali. Esta cidade é caracterizada por sua pluralidade cultural e dialetal, em parte devido a migrações forçadas de áreas marcadas por conflitos armados. Além disso, nos últimos anos, o Estado colombiano aumentou a entrada de jovens estudantes academicamente destacados nas universidades, principalmente das áreas rurais. A diversidade de usos da linguagem que os alunos construíram em seus contextos domésticos pode entrar em tensão com a dinâmica do ambiente universitário. De uma perspectiva mentalista em que prevalecem fenômenos internos suscetíveis à auto-observação, buscamos extrapolar os aspectos afetivos das atitudes linguísticas da população estudada por meio de um matched-guise e de um questionário, instrumentos que investigam percepções sobre cinco dialetos que são freqüentemente encontrados na universidade. Os resultados mostram diferentes avaliações dos dialetos e uma consideração do dialeto de Bogotá como central, prestigioso e padrão, fortemente associado às formas de oralidade acadêmica.

Cet article s’intéresse à la manière dont, à Marseille, des locuteurs membres d’un groupe a priori dominant se retrouvent en situation de minoration dans un marché linguistique local, dans lequel les règles du jeu linguistique ne sont pas les mêmes qu’à l’échelle nationale. La façon dont certains Marseillais se moquent de leur façon de parler traduit bien un renversement du rapport de forces sociolinguistique. Cependant, la traditionnelle opposition « Parisien » vs « Marseillais » est reconfigurée depuis un certain temps en raison de l’arrivée et de la présence visible et audible de nouveaux habitants aux profils socioéconomiques et sociolinguistiques différents. L’étude du contact entre les Marseillais et les nouveaux arrivants nous permet d’analyser les processus de minoration (explicites ou implicites) qui passent notamment par le filtre de l’humour lorsque celui-ci est focalisé sur l’identité linguistique., This paper investigates how, in Marseille, speakers of a supposedly dominant group can end up being minoritized in a local linguistic market in which the rules of the linguistic games are different than the ones at the national level. The way some people of Marseille make fun of the Parisian way of speaking illustrates how they want to reverse the sociolinguistic balance of power. For some time, the traditional Parisian/Marseillais opposition has been undergoing a reconfiguration, due to the visible and audible arrival of newcomers with different socioeconomic and sociolinguistic profiles. The study of contact between people from Marseille and newcomers allows us to analyze the (explicit or implicit) minorization processes, which is sometimes filtered by humour, when it is focused on linguistic identity.

El presente artículo tiene como objetivo describir las percepciones y creencias lingüísticas de un grupo de 108 estudiantes de la Universidad de Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia) hacia la variedad andaluza, a partir de los resultados de las encuestas del proyecto PRECAVES XXI. Entre los principales resultados se destaca el hecho de que los jóvenes medellinenses tienen un porcentaje de identificación bajo hacia la variedad andaluza (solo un 4%), y que hay una asociación genérica con España y con variedades caribeñas. Así mismo, el habla andaluza se relaciona con puestos de trabajo bien cualificados, nivel de ingresos medios y estudios universitarios, apreciaciones que también son realizadas para la variedad castellana, andina, chilena y rioplatense. Finalmente, la valoración indirecta sugiere que esta es una variedad «rica» e «interesante» y que después de la variedad propia esta es la más «divertida» y «familiar», aunque la menos «cercana». This paper aims to describe the perception and linguistic beliefs towards the Andalusian variety by a group 108 students of University of Antioquia (Medellín, Colombia), based on results of surveys from PRECAVES XXI [Project for the study of beliefs and attitudes regarding varieties of Spanish in the 21st century]. The main results show low identification percent of Andalusian variety (just 4%) and a general association with Iberian and Caribbean varieties by students from Medellín. Likewise, Spanish spoken in Andalusia is related with well-qualified jobs, middle income level and university studies. These values are also related with Spanish varieties like Castilian, Andin, Chilean and Rioplatense. Finally, indirect assessments suggest that Andalusian variety is “rich” and “interesting” and, after their own variety, Spanish spoken in Andalusia is the most “funny” and “familiar”, although the least “close”.

espanolEn el presente trabajo se examinan actitudes hacia el espanol hablado y escrito de los Estados Unidos. El analisis parte de un cuestionario que se hizo con hablantes nativos de espanol de diferentes paises del mundo hispanico por medio de un instrumento de coleccion en linea que se llama Survey Monkey. En el mismo participaron 110 hablantes de espanol de Espana, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Cuba, Mexico y Chile. Los resultaron muestran el conocimiento y las actitudes que dichos hablantes tienen sobre el espanol de los Estados Unidos, y ofrece algunos signos de vitalizacion y desarrollo del espanol en dicho pais. EnglishIn this paper we analyze attitudes towards spoken and written Spanish Language of the United States. The study is based on a questionnaire submitted to native Spanish speakers from different countries of the Hispanic world through an online collection instrument called Survey Monkey. A total of 110 Spanish speakers from Spain, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Mexico and Chile participated. The results show both the knowledge and attitudes that these speakers have about Spanish language in the United States, as well as some signs of vitalization and development of Spanish in that country. francaisDans ce travail on examine des attitudes vis-a-vis de l’espagnol parle et ecrit des Etats-Unis. On a eu la participa- tion de 110 hispanophones d’Espagne, Colombie, Perou, Argentine, Cuba, Porto Rico, Guatemala, Mexique et Chili. En la comunidad hispanohablante existe en la actualidad una creciente toma de conciencia sobre la diversidad de normas existentes en el español. La nueva política de la RAE y la ASALE, de carácter panhispánico y defensora del policentrismo de la lengua, apunta en esta dirección. La recurrente pregunta sobre qué español enseñar sigue siendo objeto de debates y la adecuada integración y enseñanza de las variedades geolectales en los currículos de ELE es tratada por diversos especialistas. Sin embargo, todavía no todos los actores participantes en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje tienen la misma conciencia sobre este carácter plurinormativo del español y pueden ser transmisores inconscientes de erróneas ideologías lingüísticas. El estudio de las actitudes y creencias lingüísticas del alumnado hacia las variedades geográficas del español, especialmente en un contexto heteroglósico como el taiwanés, puede orientarnos sobre el desarrollo de esta labor docente. En este trabajo presentamos un acercamiento a las creencias y actitudes lingüísticas de los estudiantes universitarios taiwaneses de ELE a partir del concepto de prestigio lingüístico. Para ello partimos de una concepción mentalista de las actitudes y desarrollamos una investigación de corte cualitativo y metodología directa basada en entrevistas y grupos de discusión. En ella se registró una mayoritaria actitud positiva hacia la variedad castellana y actitudes generalmente negativas hacia las demás variedades tanto europeas como americanas. Estas actitudes se apoyan en una serie de creencias erróneas y prejuicios que parecen estar siendo transmitidos por parte de la comunidad académica. In the Spanish-speaking community, there is currently an increasing awareness of the diversity of existing norms in Spanish. The new RAE and ASALE policy, which is pan-Hispanic in nature and defends the polycentricity of the language, points in this direction. The recurring question about which Spanish to teach and the proper integration of geolectal varieties in SFL curricula continue to be discussed by specialists. However, not yet all the actors participating in the teaching-learning process are equally aware of this plurinormative character of Spanish and may be unconscious transmitters of erroneous linguistic ideologies. The study of the students' linguistic attitudes and beliefs towards the geographical varieties of Spanish, especially in a heteroglossic context, such as Taiwanese, can guide us on how this teaching work is being carried out. In this paper, we present an approach to the linguistic beliefs and attitudes of Taiwanese university students of SFL based on the concept of linguistic prestige. To do this, we start from a mentalist conception of attitudes and develop a qualitative research based on interviews and discussion groups. This research registered a majority positive attitude towards the Castilian variety and generally negative attitudes towards the other varieties, both European and American. These attitudes are based on series of erroneous beliefs and prejudices that seem to be being transmitted by the academic community.

Esses julgamentos estão ancorados na ideologia linguística de uma língua padrão, uma vez que os falantes acreditam que a língua existe em formas padronizadas e esse tipo de crença afeta o modo como pensam sua própria língua (MILROY, 2011, p.49). A escola, que tem como uma das disciplinas de ensino a língua materna, acaba sendo um ambiente propício para a distorção da realidade linguística e propagação de preconceitos linguísticos. Dessa forma, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo refletir sobre o ensino de língua portuguesa no Brasil, investigando atitudes linguísticas de professores e alunos de duas escolas da rede pública de Monte Azul Paulista, município do interior de SP, mediante o fenômeno variável de concordância verbal de terceira pessoa do plural. Para isso, este trabalho pautou-se no aporte teórico e metodológico da Sociolinguística Variacionista, buscando fazer uma reflexão sobre a Teoria da Variação e Mudança Linguística (WEINREICH; LABOV; HERZOG, 2006) e uma revisão teórica acerca dos conceitos de atitudes e avaliações linguísticas (LABOV, 2008 [1972]; LAMBERT, 1967). Com relação à coleta do corpus, elaboramos uma proposta de redação aos alunos, com o propósito de selecionar e quantificar as ocorrências de CV. Paralelamente a essa etapa, elaboramos dois testes de atitudes linguísticas que foi aplicado aos professores de Língua Portuguesa e aos alunos, de modo a analisar a reação no que se refere às convenções e aos padrões institucionalizados, auxiliando na discussão da valorização e rejeição às variedades da língua em uso. Além disso, o objetivo deste trabalho é estabelecer uma relação entre as respostas dos professores e as atitudes dos alunos. A hipótese é a de que as atitudes dos professores de língua materna frente a fenômenos variáveis podem influenciar nas crenças e atitudes de seus alunos sobre a língua. As respostas dos testes confirmaram o prestígio da variante com a marcação de plural, indicando, portanto, o valor de uma variedade orientada para a ascensão social. Além disso, foi possível concluir que o ensino de língua portuguesa está distante de um ensino reflexivo e de uma pedagogia culturalmente sensível (ERICKSON, 1987). The evaluation theme should be discussed in studies on linguistic variation and change, as it raises a process of constructing subjective judgments of the speaker in relation to his own language and that of his interlocutor. These judgments are anchored in the linguistic ideology of a standard language, since speakers believe that the language exists in standardized forms and this type of belief affects the way they think their own language (MILROY, 2011, p.49). The school, which has the mother tongue as one of its teaching subjects, ends up being a favorable environment for the linguistic reality distortion and the linguistic prejudices spread. Thus, this paper aims to reflect on the Portuguese teaching in Brazil, investigating the linguistic attitudes of teachers and students from two public schools in Monte Azul Paulista, in the interior of Sao Paulo, through the variable phenomenon of verbal agreement third-person plural. Thereunto, this work was based on the theoretical and methodological contribution of Variationist Sociolinguistics, seeking to reflect on the Theory of Variation and Linguistic Change (WEINREICH; LABOV; HERZOG, 2006) and a theoretical review on the concepts of attitudes and linguistic evaluations (LABOV, 2008 [1972]; LAMBERT, 1967). Regarding the corpus collection, we prepared a proposal for writing to the students, with the purpose of selecting and quantifying the occurrences of CV. Parallel to this stage, we developed two tests of linguistic attitudes that were applied to Portuguese language teachers and students, in order to analyze the reaction with regard to institutionalized conventions and standards, helping to discuss the appreciation and rejection of language varieties in use. In addition, the objective of this work is to establish a relationship between the teachers’ responses and the student’s attitudes. The hypothesis is that the mother tongue teachers 'attitudes towards variable phenomena can influence their students' beliefs and attitudes about the language. The test responses confirmed the prestige of the variant with the plural marking, thus indicating the value of a variety oriented towards social ascension. In addition, it was possible to conclude that the Portuguese language teaching is far from reflective teaching and culturally sensitive pedagogy (ERICKSON, 1987).

Šiuo tyrimu siekiama sumažinti atskirtį tarp sociolingvistinių tyrimų apie lietuvių kalbos išlaikymą migracijoje ir bendrinės lietuvių kalbos ideologijos įtaką kalbos vartotojams. Straipsnyje analizuojamas žemaičių migrantų požiūris į žemaičių tarmę, pagrindiniai įtakos turintys faktoriai, žiūrima, ar bendrinės lietuvių kalbos ideologiją galima laikyti vienu iš šių faktorių. Giluminė dešimties sociolingvistinių interviu analizė atskleidė, jog, panašiai kaip ir Lietuvoje, migracijoje kalbos vartotojų požiūriui įtakos turi trys pagrindiniai veiksniai: išsilavinimas, sovietmečiu vykdyta kalbos politika ir visuomenės spaudimas. Nors migracijoje spaudimas kalbėti „teisingai” yra kur kas silpnesnis nei Lietuvoje, daugelis užsienyje gyvenančių žemaičių renkasi bendrinę lietuvių kalbą, o ne dialektą, ypač oficialių renginių metu. The study tries to bridge the gap between research on how the Lithuanian language and its varieties are spoken and maintained by migrants and on how the standard language ideology affects the speakers of regional varieties in Lithuania. The paper investigates Lithuanian Samogitian migrants’ attitudes towards their regional variety, the main factors that might influence their beliefs and whether the standard language ideology is one of these factors. The in-depth analysis of 10 audio-recorded and coded interview responses has shown that in migration, similarly as in Lithuania, people’s attitudes towards Samogitian and the usage of it are governed by the three main factors, namely education, Soviet language policy and the linguistic pressure from society. Even though migrants do not feel intense pressure to speak the "right" language and feel much freer to use the variety of their choice when talking to other migrants, they still believe that it is common sense to use the standard in official gatherings, for public speeches or for official events.

When acquiring a language, pragmatic competence becomes essential, given that positive attitudes and habits towards the environment have to be derived from its knowledge. This fact assumes a particular relevance when it comes to learning a minoritized language, which is forced to share functions with other language having more symbolic weight. In this paper, we analyze the linguistic perceptions of one of three first year groups which have taken the subject Catalan Language and its Teaching, from the Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), in the first four months of the school year 2017-2018. We intend to confirm the correlation between favorable attitudes and habits towards Catalan with the curricular learning objectives. Beyond the linguistic policies which are applied to the normalization of Catalan in the Balearic university teaching, the influence of environment determines the students’ linguistic performance. En la adquisición de una lengua, la competencia pragmática resulta imprescindible, puesto que de su conocimiento se deben derivar hábitos y actitudes positivas hacia el entorno. Este hecho tiene una especial relevancia cuando se trata del aprendizaje de una lengua minorizada, obligada a compartir funciones con otra de mayor peso simbólico. En este artículo, analizamos las percepciones lingüísticas de uno de los tres grupos de primer año que han cursado, a lo largo del primer cuatrimestre del año académico 2017-2018, la asignatura Lengua Catalana y su Didáctica, del Grado en Educación Infantil de la Universidad de las Illes Balears (UIB). Pretendemos confirmar la correlación entre actitudes y hábitos favorables al catalán con el logro de los objetivos curriculares de aprendizaje. La influencia del entorno, más allá de las políticas lingüísticas que se aplican para la normalización del catalán en la docencia universitaria balear, acaba determinando el rendimiento lingüístico del alumnado. Dans l’acquisition d’une langue, la compétence pragmatique devient indispensable, compte tenu que de sa métrise doivent se découler des habitudes et des attitudes positives vers l’environnement. Cela est particulièrement important lorsqu’il s’agit de l’apprentissage d’une langue minorisée, forcée à partager des fonctions avec une autre langue ayant un poids symbolique plus grand. Dans cet article, nous analysons les perceptions linguistiques d’un des trois groupes de la première année qui ont suivi, tout au long du premier quadrimestre de l’année universitaire 2017-2018, la matière Langue catalane et sa didactique, dans la Licence en éducation pré-primaire de l’Université des Îles Baléares (UIB). Nous nous proposons de vérifier la corrélation entre les attitudes et les habitudes favorables au catalan avec la réalisation des objectifs curriculaires pédagogiques. L’influence de l’environnement, au delà des politiques linguistiques mises en œuvre pour la normalisation du catalan dans l’enseignent universitaire baléare, déterminent les performances linguistiques des élèves.

Este trabajo se realiza teniendo en cuenta tres objetivos principales: (1) comprobar qué opinan los espectadores sobre la forma de hablar de algunos personajes públicos andaluces, (2) analizar cómo hablan estos personajes y, finalmente, (3) realizar un estudio contrastivo entre las percepciones de los usuarios y los rasgos lingüísticos de los personajes. Para ello, hemos elaborado dos corpus distintos sobre 4 presentadores de origen andaluz y con presencia televisiva nacional y regional: Eva González, Paz Padilla, Manu Sánchez y Roberto Leal. En el primero se han recopilado más de 500 comentarios en los que los usuarios de la red social Twitter expresan su opinión sobre la forma de hablar de estos personajes. Posteriormente, se ha elaborado otro corpus compuesto por sus intervenciones en televisión atendiendo no solo a factores lingüísticos sino también extralingüísticos como el lugar de intervención o el rol del presentador., We present this paper with 3 principal objectives: (1) to probe the opinion of the spectators about the speaking of some Andalusian public characters, (2) to analyze how these characters speak and, finally, (3) to realize a contrastive study between the linguistic perceptions of the users and the linguistic patterns of television characters. For this, we are elaborated two different corpora on presenters of Andalusian origin and with national and regional television presence: Eva González, Paz Padilla, Manu Sánchez y Roberto Leal. In the first one, more of than 500 comments have been collected in which the users of the social network Twitter express their opinion about the speaking of these characters. Subsequently, another corpus has been elaborated consisting of their television interventions taking into linguistic and extralinguistic factors such as the place of intervention or the role of the presenter.

Resumen En el presente artículo se analizan los primeros resultados del proyecto PRECAVES XXI sobre actitudes lingüísticas en la ciudad de Medellín, Colombia. En esta primera fase del proyecto se aplicó la entrevista a dos colectivos de estudiantes de primeros y últimos semestres de los programas Letras: Filología Hispánica y Licenciatura en Lengua Castellana de la Universidad de Antioquia. Los resultados se relacionan con tres temas centrales: la variedad con mayor prestigio para los entrevistados, la percepción de la propia variedad y la identificación y valoración de otras variedades del español. El análisis permitió concluir que para esta población antioqueña la variedad más prestigiosa es la colombiana y, específicamente, el habla regional; valoran y reconocen su propia variedad a partir de aspectos cognitivos, considerándola como urbana y clara, lo que denota una actitud positiva, orgullo lingüístico y sentido de pertenencia hacia su habla, como producto de identidad local. Finalmente, se evidenció la pervivencia de una tradición lingüística normativista y un escaso conocimiento general de la diversidad hispánica. Abstract This paper presents the first results on the PRECAVES XXI project on linguistic attitudes in Medellín, Colombia. In this phase of the project the interview was carried out with two groups of undergraduate students from the first and last semesters of University of Antioquia’s Hispanic Philology and Teaching of Spanish Programs. The results are focused on three main topics: the most prestigious variety, the perception of their own variety, and the identification and valuation of other Spanish varieties. This analysis concluded that, for this population from Antioquia, the Colombian way of speaking is the most prestigious, and specifically, the diatopic variety; they value and recognize their own speech from cognitive aspects, considering it as urban and clear, which shows a positive attitude, linguistic pride and sense of belonging towards their variety, as a result of local identity. Finally, the survival of a normative linguistic tradition and a limited general knowledge of Hispanic diversity were evinced.

Este artículo presenta una revisión de parte de un estudio de investigación sobre actitudes lingüísticas: “Estudio sobre las actitudes lingüísticas en Andalucía: andaluz oriental y andaluz occidental” (Ruiz Pareja, 2015). El objetivo de este trabajo es arrojar un poco de luz sobre el contraste que existe en Sociolingüística entre las actitudes afectivas y cognitivas, que además están presentes en numerosos cuestionarios y estudios en esta disciplina. Para ello se repite parte del cuestionario original, donde parecía haber cierta contradicción entre actitudes y comportamientos. Los nuevos resultados indican que esta contradicción sigue existiendo; no obstante, ésta parece explicarse con la teoría del conocimiento implícito y explícito en Psicología y algunas hipótesis derivadas de ella. This article presents a review of part of a research study about linguistic attitudes: "Study about linguistic attitudes in Andalusia: Eastern Andalusia and Western Andalusia" (Ruiz Pareja, 2015). The aim of this paper is to shed light on the contrast that exists in Sociolinguistics between affective and cognitive attitudes, which are also present in many questionnaires and studies in this discipline. In order to achieve it, part of the original questionnaire, where it seemed to exist a contradiction between attitudes and behaviors, will be repeated. The new results indicate that this contradiction continues to exist; however, this may be explained by the implicit and explicit theory of knowledge in Psychology, and some hypotheses derived from it.

En la mayoría de actividades de servicios la satisfacción de los clientes depende, en gran medida, de su interacción directa con los prestadores de los mismos. En el caso del turismo, con frecuencia dicha interacción se produce entre personas cuyos idiomas maternos son diferentes. En este contexto, conceptos como la acomodación, las expectativas y las actitudes lingüísticas o la proximidad cultural enriquecen las posibilidades de análisis de la conducta y satisfacción de los turistas. En este trabajo se presenta un proyecto de investigación en curso cuyo objetivo último es profundizar en un planteamiento interdisciplinar que integre elementos de índole cultural-lingüística en el análisis económico-empresarial del turismo. En particular, se aplica la técnica del Análisis de contenido a los comentarios realizados por huéspedes de alojamientos hoteleros en la plataforma de reservas online Booking.com para determinar en qué medida las diferencias culturales influyen sobre la satisfacción con el servicio recibido. In most service activities, customer satisfaction depends to a large extent on its direct interaction with service providers. In the case of tourism, such interaction often occurs between people whose mother tongues are different. In this context, concepts such as accommodation, expectations and linguistic attitudes or cultural proximity enrich the possibilities of analyzing the behavior and satisfaction of tourists. This paper presents an ongoing research project whose ultimate goal is to deepen an interdisciplinary approach that integrates cultural and linguistic elements in the economic-business analysis of tourism. In particular, the Content Analysis technique is applied to comments made by hotel guests on the online booking platform Booking.com to determine the extent to which cultural differences influence satisfaction with the received service.

En el presente estudio analizamos las actitudes lingüísticas en tres momentos importantes de la historia social argentina, por medio de las cuales podemos observar la ideología de su gente, sus creencias, los prejuicios sociales y culturales que determinaban el uso del léxico y de las fórmulas de tratamiento. Ellas, además, permiten ver las preferencias por formas del voseo o del tuteo, la cortesía o la atenuación en la interacción de personas de igual o de diferentes niveles socioculturales. En un primer momento, entre 1700 y la finalización de la colonia española, tuvimos en cuenta el comportamiento de sus habitantes en la situación de encuentro de varios grupos humanos de diferentes orígenes (españoles, criollos, negros e indios), en cuyo contacto sobresale la actitud de superioridad y poder de los españoles hacia el resto de los integrantes de la sociedad colonial. Después, se contemplaron las actitudes lingüísticas en torno al sentimiento de identidad patriótica que se hace carne en los intelectuales argentinos en su medio sociocultural, con el fin de diferenciarse de los europeos, por lo que tratan de adoptar una modalidad lingüística con un enriquecimiento léxico de términos iluministas, que persiste hasta cerca de 1830. Por último, y limitado por el año 1850, nos ubicamos ante las actitudes lingüísticas en pro de la americanización del español, etapa que permite comprobar cómo va definiéndose la modalidad lingüística argentina dentro de un contexto en el que el romanticismo ayuda a destacar lo propio y lo natural, a través de adopciones como, por ejemplo, el seseo., This paper analizes linguistic attitudes in three meaningful moments of Argentine social history, which allows us to appreciate people’s ideologies, beliefs, social and cultural prejudices which would determine their use of vocabulary and forms of address, thus enabling us to notice their preferences concerning forms of «voseo» or of «tuteo», courtesy or atenuation in their interaction. Considering the first moment —between 1700 and the end of Spanish domination—, we took into consideration the behavior of the colonials when interacting within a variety of human groups coming from different extraction (Spaniards, Creoles, Blacks and Indians). Whenever these contacts take place, what is most noticeable is the attitude of superiority and power of the Spaniards towards the other members of the colonial society. In the second period we can appreciate linguistic attitudes connected with a feeling of patriotic identity which becomes the trademark in the Argentine intelligentsia within their socio-cultural atmosphere in order to mark a difference from Europeans, trying to adopt linguistic practices which show lexical acquisition of Illuministic terms, approximately until 1830. Finally, the third moment, which ends in 1850, we are faced with linguistic attitudes which favor the «americanization» of Spanish. This stage allows us to register how the Argentinian lingüistic traits reach a definition within a context in which Romanticism helps to emphasize what belongs to us, what is natural for us, as it happens with the acceptance of the seseo.
