A novel 3D Zn-based coordination polymer (NH 2 -LCU-110 , LCU names Liaocheng University) with the formula [Zn(L1)(bpea) n (H 2 L1 ​= ​2-aminoterephthalic acid, bpea ​= ​1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethane), was hydrothermally synthesized from a flexible nitrogen-containing carboxylic acid ligand with various coordination modes as main ligands and nitrogen-containing auxiliary ligand with different structures. NH 2 -LCU-110 demonstrates an interesting 5-fold interpenetrating diamond structure. Luminescence measurements reveal that this complex has obvious emission enhancement and quenching towards Al3+ and Cu2+, respectively. The mixed matrix membranes (MMMs) incorporating NH 2 -LCU-110 and poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) as well as simple test papers were both prepared for potential application. The MMMs can quickly detect Al3+ and Cu2+ and the original emission could be regenerated by lifting from the analytical solutions, demonstrating its fast response and good selectivity. The sensing mechanism was investigated in details by various measurements and compared with isostructural complex LCU-110 without –NH 2 groups. All observations indicate that introduction of Lewis basic –NH 2 groups can enhance the intermolecular interactions between the frameworks of coordination polymers and sensing analytes (Al3+ and Cu2+). A novel multifunctional coordination polymer {[Zn(HCOO) (bcbpy)Cl]·H 2 O} n (1) with multiple colour-changing has been synthesized from Zn(NO 3) 2 ·6H 2 O, and viologen ligand 1,1′-bis-((3-carboxylatobenzyl)-4,4′-bipyridinium) dichloride (H 2 bcbpy·2Cl). In coordination polymer (CP) 1 , bcbpy ligands bridge Zn2+ cations to form a 1D wave-like chain. CP 1 exhibited photochromic properties under xenon lamp and blue light irradiation while obtaining a structurally stable light product 1T. CP 1 thermochromic properties can also be observed during heating. 1 showed photo-controlled fluorescence properties during color rendering and decolorization, and its properties were studied. Interestingly, CP 1 can be deposited in filter paper by coating it with a solution of H 2 O. The filter paper can be used as a printing medium without ink. Constructing nanoscale coordination polymers (CPs) with different micro- or nanoscale morphologies and sizes is crucial for the functionalization of CPs-based heterogeneous catalysts. Herein, surfactant polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), surface-supported frameworks (filter paper or Ni foam), and Co-based CPs (1), [Co 2 (pdpa)(py) 4 (H 2 O)] n (H 4 pdpa ​= ​5,5'-(pentane-1,2-diyl)-bis(oxy)diisophthalic; py ​= ​pyridine)) were employed to develop highly ordered micro- or nanoscale CPs, achieving microscale 1a (without surface-supported framework) and nanoscale 1b-c (filter paper and Ni foam as surface-supported frameworks for 1b and 1c , respectively). Furthermore, the catalytic performance of nanoscale 1c with spheric particles for the tandem conversion reactions of aromatic nitriles and diamines into imidazoline or tetrahydropyrimidine frameworks was much more prominent than that of large scale 1 , microscale 1a , and nanoscale 1b because of the easily accessible catalytic active sites in the nanoscale spheric particles, which offered a functionalizable platform for the tandem reactions by minimizing the diffusion distance but did little for their activity. By introducing surfactant and surface-supported frameworks, different morphologies and particle sizes of Co-based CPs with micro- or nanoscale 1a-c were constructed and were used as efficient heterogeneous catalysts to execute tandem conversion reactions. The micro-occurrence characterization of shale oil is a key geological issue that restricts the effective development of continental shale oil in China. In order to make up for the lack of research in this area, this paper carries out a series of experiments on the shale oil of the Lucaogou Formation using a multi-step extraction method, with the aim of exploring the micro-occurrence types and mechanisms of shale oil in the Lucaogou Formation, as well as exploring its direct connection with production and development. In this paper, shale oil in the reservoir is divided into two categories: free oil and residual oil. The polar substances and OSN compounds are the key factors determining the occurrence state of shale oil. Abundant polar substances and OSN compounds can preferentially react with mineral surfaces (including coordination, complexation, ionic exchange, and so on) to form a stable adsorption layer, making it difficult to extract residual oil in actual exploitation. Free oil is mainly composed of aliphatic hydrocarbons, and its adsorption capacity is related to the length of the carbon chain, i.e. long carbon chain, strong adsorption capacity, and poor movability. Free oil is widely stored in pores and cracks, and that with high mobility can be the most easily extracted, making it the main target at present exploitation. In the current state of drilling and fracturing technology, research should prioritize understanding the adsorption and desorption mechanisms of crude oil, particularly residual oil. This paper presents an extensive review of the most effective and modern monitoring methods for electrical power lines, with particular attention to high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) systems. From a general point of view, the main objective of these techniques is to prevent catastrophic failures by detecting the partial damage or deterioration of components and allowing maintenance operations to be organized. In fact, the protection devices commonly used in transmission and distribution networks guarantee the location of faults, such as short-circuits, putting the non-functioning branch of the network out of service. Nowadays, alongside these devices, it is possible to introduce new intelligent algorithms capable of avoiding the total loss of functionality, thus improving the reliability of the entire network. This is one of the main challenges in modern smart grids, which are characterized by the massive integration of renewable energy sources and a high level of complexity. Therefore, in the first part of this paper, a general overview of the most common protection devices is proposed, followed by an analysis of the most modern prevention algorithms. In the first case, the coordination of the relays plays a fundamental role in obtaining the fault location with a high level of selectivity, while in the field of preventive analysis, it is necessary to address the implementation of artificial intelligence methods. The techniques presented in this paper provide a comprehensive description of the different monitoring approaches currently used in distribution and transmission lines, highlighting the coordination of protection relays, the computational algorithms capable of preventing failures, and the influence of the distributed generation in their management. Therefore, this paper offers an overview of the main diagnostic techniques and protection devices, highlights the critical issues that can be overcome through the introduction of artificial intelligence, and describes the main prognostic methods, focusing on their invasive level and the possibility of operating directly online. Within the scope of the ongoing efforts to fight climate change, the application of multi-robot systems to environmental mapping and monitoring missions is a prominent approach aimed at increasing exploration efficiency. However, the application of such systems to gas sensing missions has yet to be extensively explored and presents some unique challenges, mainly due to the hard-to-sense and expensive-to-model nature of gas dispersion. For this paper, we explored the application of a multi-robot system composed of rotary-winged nano aerial vehicles to a gas sensing mission. We qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed the interference between different robots and the effect on their sensing performance. We then assessed this effect, by deploying several algorithms for 3D gas sensing with increasing levels of coordination in a state-of-the-art wind tunnel facility. The results show that multi-robot gas sensing missions can be robust against documented interference and degradation in their sensing performance. This paper illustrates how the size and type of substituent R in the phosphinate group of ferrocenyl bisphosphinic acids can affect conformational possibilities and coordination packing. It also demonstrates that H-phosphinate plays a key role in variational mobility, while Me- or Ph- substituents of the phosphinate group can only lead to 0D complexes or 1D coordination polymer. In this paper, the sorption of NH3, H2O, SO2 and CO2 was tested for several selected inorganic materials. The tests were performed on samples belonging to two topologies of materials, faujasite (FAU) and framework-type MFI, the structures of which differ in pore size and connectivity. All sorbates are important in terms of reducing their emissions to the environment. They have different chemical nature: basic, alkaline, and acidic. They are all polar in structure and composition and two of them (ammonia and water vapor) can form hydrogen bonds. These differences result in different interactions with the surface of the adsorbents. This paper presents experimental data and proposes a mathematical description of the sorption process. The best fit of the experimental data was obtained for the Toth and GAB models. The studies showed that among the selected samples, faujasite has the best sorption capacity for ammonia and water vapor, while the best sorbent for sulfur dioxide is the MFI framework type. These materials behave like molecular sieves and can be used for quite selective adsorption of relevant gases. In addition, modification of the faujasite with organic silane resulted in a drastic reduction in the surface area of the sorbent, resulting in significantly lower sorption capacities for gases. In this paper, a known mixed-ligand MOF {[Co2(TZMB)2(1,4-bib)0.5(H2O)2]·(H2O)2}n (compound 1) was reproduced, and its potential application potential was explored. It was found that compound 1 had high photocatalytic activity for CO2 reduction. After 12 h of illumination, the formation rate of CO, which is the product of CO2 reduction by compound 1, reached 3012.5 μmol/g/h. At the same time, compound 1 has a good antibacterial effect on Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus), Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Candida albicans (C. albicans), which has potential research value in the medical field. In this paper, carbon-matrix-supported copper (Cu) and cobaltous oxide (CoO) nanoparticles were obtained by using coordination polymers (CPs) as a precursor. The aqueous solutions of copper methacrylate (CuMA) and cobalt methacrylate (CoMA) were preferentially prepared, which were then mixed with anhydrous ethanol to fabricate dual metal ion coordination polymers (CuMA/CoMA). After calcination under an argon atmosphere, the Cu-CoO/C nanocomposite was obtained. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) showed that the material has banded morphology, and the dual functional nanoparticles were highly dispersed in the carbon matrix. The prepared material was used in a heterogeneous Fenton-like reaction, with the aim of replacing traditional ferric catalysts to solve pH constraints and the mass production of ferric slime. The obtained nanocomposite showed excellent catalytic performance on the degradation of methylene blue (MB) at near-neutral conditions; the discoloration efficiency is about 98.5% within 50 min in the presence of 0.15 mmol/mL H2O2 and 0.5 mg/mL catalyst. HBr emissions from volcanoes lead rapidly to the formation of BrO within volcanic plumes and have an impact on tropospheric chemistry, at least at the local and regional scales. The motivation of this paper is to prepare a framework for further 3D modelling of volcanic halogen emissions in order to determine their fate within the volcanic plume and then in the atmosphere at the regional and global scales. The main aim is to evaluate the ability of the model to produce a realistic partitioning of bromine species within a grid box size typical of MOCAGE (Model Of atmospheric Chemistry At larGE scale) 3D (0.5 ∘ × 0.5 ∘). This work is based on a 1D single-column configuration of the global chemistry-transport model MOCAGE that has low enough computational cost to allow us to perform a large set of sensitivity simulations. This paper uses the emissions from the Mount Etna eruption on 10 May 2008. Several reactions are added to MOCAGE to represent the volcanic plume halogen chemistry. A simple plume parameterisation is also implemented and tested. The use of this parameterisation tends to only slightly limit the efficiency of BrO net production. Both simulations with and without the parameterisation give results for the partitioning of the bromine species, of ozone depletion and of the BrO/SO2 ratio that are consistent with previous studies. A series of test experiments were performed to evaluate the sensitivity of the results to the composition of the emissions (primary sulfate aerosols, Br radical and NO) and to the effective radius assumed for the volcanic sulfate aerosols. Simulations show that the plume chemistry is sensitive to all these parameters. We also find that the maximum altitude of the eruption changes the BrO production, which is linked to the vertical variability of the concentrations of oxidants in the background air. These sensitivity tests display changes in the bromine chemistry cycles that are generally at least as important as the plume parameterisation. Overall, the version of the MOCAGE chemistry developed for this study is suitable to produce the expected halogen chemistry in volcanic plumes during daytime and night-time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Fibre-reinforced polymer composites (FRPs) offer various benefits for bridge construction. Lightweight, durability, design flexibility and fast erection in inaccessible areas are their unique selling points for bridge engineering. FRPs are used in four bridge applications: (1) FRP rebars/tendons in concrete; (2) repair and strengthening of existing bridges; (3) new hybrid–FRP bridges with conventional materials and (4) all–FRP composite new bridges made entirely of FRP materials. This paper reviews FRP bridges, including all–FRP and hybrid–FRP bridges. FRP bridges' history, materials, processes and bridge components—deck, girder, truss, moulded parts and cables/rebars are considered. This paper does not discuss the use of FRP as an architectural element and a strengthening system. While lack of design codes, material specifications and recycling are the major challenges, the high cost of FRPs still remains the most critical barrier to the progress of FRPs in bridges. Sci (ISSN 2413-4155) is an international, open-access journal that covers most fields of scientific research. It has set out to challenge the conventional single- and double-blind peer review processes by adopting a post-publication public peer review (P4R) model. The model faced some difficulties with indexing and archiving services, prolongated the peer review process and its transparency received some opposition. It was therefore necessary to revisit the P4R model and modify it, resulting in the hybrid model (P4R hybrid) which is implemented in Sci today. Sci remains open to the whole scientific community as an inclusive and multidisciplinary scientific journal. In this context, we present you with six valuable contributions to the first Special Issue of Feature Papers Editors Collection 2020. Renewable hydrogen energy has received growing attention due to the energy shortage and increasing CO2 emissions. With these issues in mind, renewable hydrogen has become an important component of future energy systems in many countries, especially in the transportation sector. However, the shortage of hydrogenation station and the risks associated with their construction have become an urgent issue for the development of hydrogen energy transportation. To better implement the hydrogenation station project, a risk management framework is proposed for risk control. First, a comprehensive risk index system is developed, using a weighting method based on the G1 method and the C-OWA operator. Second, a grey fuzzy synthetic assessment method is applied to evaluate the risk based on the 3D risk assessment framework. Finally, risk is assigned to different participants and actionable measures are proposed. This paper summarizes the obstacles to the development of hydrogen energy transportation, highlights the potential of hydrogen energy development, and suggests workable solutions for the use of hydrogen energy in the future transportation industry. Two triple interpenetrating Zn(II)-based MOFs were studied in this paper. Named [Zn6(1,4-bpeb)4(IPA)6(H2O)]n (MOF-1) and {[Zn3(1,4-bpeb)1.5(DDBA)3]n·2DMF} (MOF-2), {1,4-bpeb = 1,4-bis [2-(4-pyridy1) ethenyl]benze, IPA = Isophthalic acid, DDBA = 3,3′-Azodibenzoic acid}, they were synthesized by the hydrothermal method and were characterized and stability tested. The results showed that MOF-1 had good acid–base stability and solvent stability. Furthermore, MOF-1 had excellent green fluorescence and with different phenomena in different solvents, which was almost completely quenched in acetone. Based on this phenomenon, an acetone sensing test was carried out, where the detection limit of acetone was calculated to be 0.00365% (volume ratio). Excitingly, the MOF-1 could also be used as a proportional fluorescent probe to specifically detect tryptophan, with a calculated detection limit of 34.84 μM. Furthermore, the mechanism was explained through energy transfer and competitive absorption (fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET)) and internal filtration effect (IFE). For antibacterial purposes, the minimum inhibitory concentrations of MOF-1 against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were 19.52 µg/mL and 39.06 µg/mL, respectively, and the minimum inhibitory concentrations of MOF-2 against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus were 68.36 µg/mL and 136.72 µg/mL, respectively. In this paper, the synthesis and crystal structure of pyrazine-2,5-diyldimethanol (pyzdmH2, C6H8N2O2), a new symmetric water-soluble N,O-chelating tetra-dentate organic ligand, is reported and an environmentally friendly method is used to synthesize coordination compounds in water under ambient conditions, from the reaction of pyzdmH2 with the halide salts of Cu(II), Zn(II), Hg(II) and Cd(II): {[Cu(pyzdmH2)0.5(µ-Br)(Br)(H2O)]·H2O}n 1, {[Zn2(pyzdmH2)(µ-Cl)(Cl)3(H2O)]·H2O}n 2, [Hg2(pyzdmH2)0.5(µ-Cl)2(Cl)2]n 3, {[Cd2(pyzdmH2)(µ-Cl)4]·H2O}n 4, and {[Cd2(pyzdmH2)(µ-Br)4]·H2O}n 5. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that 1–3 are 1D coordination polymers and 4 and 5 are 3D coordination networks, all constructed by bridging pyrazine-2,5-diyldimethanol and halogen ions. The hydroxyl groups in the organic linker extend the 1D chains to non-covalent 3D networks. In all non-covalent and covalent 3D networks, water molecules are trapped by strong hydrogen bond interactions. Supramolecular analysis reveals strong O-H···O, O-H···N, O-H···X, and weak C-H···O, C-H···X (X = Cl, Br) hydrogen bonds, as well as π-π(pyrazine ring), metal-halogen···π(pyrazine ring), and O-H···ring(5-membered chelate ring) interactions. This paper describes the synthesis and characterization of seven different copper(II) coordination compounds, as well as the formation of a protonated ligand involving all compounds from the same reaction. Their synthesis required hydrothermal conditions, causing the partial in situ transformation of 5-fluoro uracil-1-acetic acid (5-FUA) into an oxalate ion (ox), as well as the protonation of the 4,4′-bipyridine (bipy) ligand through a catalytic process resulting from the presence of Cu(II) within the reaction. These initial conditions allowed obtaining the new coordination compounds [Cu2(5-FUA)2(ox)(bipy)]n·2n H2O (CP2), [Cu(5-FUA)2(H2O)(bipy)]n·2n H2O (CP3), as well as the ionic pair [(H2bipy)+2 2NO3−] (1). The mother liquor evolved rapidly at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, due to the change in concentration of the initial reagents and the presence of the new chemical species generated in the reaction process, yielding CPs [Cu(5-FUA)2(bipy)]n·3.5n H2O, [Cu3(ox)3(bipy)4]n and [Cu(ox)(bipy)]n. The molecular compound [Cu(5-FUA)2(H2O)4]·4H2O (more thermodynamically stable) ended up in the mother liquor after filtration at longer reaction times at 25 °C and 1 atm., cohabiting in the medium with the other crystalline solids in different proportions. In addition, the evaporation of H2O caused the single-crystal to single-crystal transformation (SCSC) of [Cu(5-FUA)2(H2O)(bipy)]n·2n H2O (CP3) into [Cu(5-FUA)2(bipy)]n·2n H2O (CP4). A theoretical study was performed to analyze the thermodynamic stability of the phases. Multistimuli responsive materials based on the viologen coordination polymers have attracted much interest in the past few years due to the increasing demand for smart materials. In this paper, based on a viologen ligand 1-(3-carboxybenzyl)- 4,4′-bipyridinium chloride (Hcbbpy) and zinc(II) ion, a new crystalline complex, namely, {[Zn(cbbpy)Cl 2 ]·H 2 O} n (1) has been designed and synthesized. In complex 1 , every cbbpy ligand as a bridge links two Zn2+ ions via carboxylate O atom and pyridine N atom to extend to a 1D zigzag chain. The 1D chains are extended to 3D supramolecular structure through π···π stacking and hydrogen bonding. More importantly, 1 exhibits fast photochromic behaviors in response to UV and X-ray due to the formation of viologen radicals. Complex 1 also shows photo-modulated luminescence property in the solid state. In addition, complex 1 can be deposited on filter paper and displays the potential application as inkless print material. There is often a noticeable lack of coordination in green supply chains induced by the conflict of goals, which weakens the chains' performance. Ignoring this problem sometimes causes the system to fail. In such cases, governments may intervene to coordinate supply chains and reduce their pollutants. Governments themselves have large state-owned companies such as gas, oil and electricity which include many suppliers that provide the needed products. One way of coordinating green supply chains with government intervention is to use contracts. This study deals with green supply chain coordination with government intervention through mediating state-owned companies and the implementation of insurance. One of the important contributions of this paper is considering the insurance contract in coordinating the green supply chain. The defined insurance contract structure seeks to reduce the risk of apparent bankruptcy and, thus, reduce pollutants. The performance of the provided insurance contract is comparable to that of the cost-sharing contract as a commonly used tool to coordinate green supply chains with government interventions. The model used in this study is the bi-level extensive game model with the Stackelberg approach. At the first level, the employer, i.e., a state-owned company and the government, is postulated as the leader. At the second level, the suppliers are placed as followers. As the model is formulated as a mixed integer program, another contribution of the paper is developing a hybrid algorithm to solve the corresponding problem. In order to reduce the time and improve the balancing speed of traditional single-layer inductive equalization circuits, this paper proposes an active equalization control strategy with double-layer inductors for series-connected battery packs, based on an accurate state-of-charge (SOC) estimation. By selecting the inductor as the intermediate energy storage element, the SOC of the single lithium-ion battery (LIB) cell is calculated by using a particle filter (PF) algorithm. Meanwhile, according to the deviation in SOC among the batteries, stop parameters are introduced to achieve the design and optimization of the equalization strategy. Finally, the relationship between the equalization current and the control signal period is derived to fulfill the equalization. The experimental results show that, compared with the traditional single-layer inductive equalization topology, the proposed equalization control topology can shorten the equalization time by at least 15.6%. More importantly, this equalization scheme overcomes the disadvantage of the long energy transfer path of traditional inductive equalization, which helps to improve the equalization speed and the inconsistency of the battery pack. [Display omitted] • 1D MWO 4 (M = Mn, Co, Cd) nanomaterials were synthesized by electrospinning method. • CoWO 4 nanotubes exhibited superior efficiency in degrading BPA under UV–Vis–NIR light. • The wide-spectrum responses mechanism for MWO 4 (M = Mn, Co, Cd) were explained by DFT. Broadening the absorption region to near-infrared (NIR) light is critical for the photocatalysis due to the larger proportion and stronger penetration of NIR light in solar energy. In the present paper, one-dimensional (1D) MWO 4 (M = Mn, Co, and Cd) materials synthesized by electrospinning technique, were studied by combining the density functional theory (DFT) with experiment results, which possessed the enhanced light absorption capability within the range of 200–2000 nm. It was proved that in the ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) region, the absorption bands of CoWO 4 and MnWO 4 samples were attributed to the metal-to-metal charge transfer mechanism, while the absorption of CdWO 4 sample may be referable to the ligand-to-metal charge transfer mechanism. In the near-infrared (NIR) region, the absorption of CoWO 4 and MnWO 4 primarily originated from the d-d orbital transitions of Mn2+ and Co2+. The photocatalytic experimental results showed that the degradation rates for bisphenol A (BPA) over CoWO 4 , MnWO 4 , and CdWO 4 photocatalysts under UV–Vis/NIR light irradiation for 140 min/12 h were 78.8 %/75.9 %, 23.8 %/21.3 %, 12.8 %/8.7 %, respectively. This research offers the novel insights into the precise construction of tungstate catalytic systems and contributes to the advancement of UV–Vis–NIR full spectrum photocatalytic technology, and lays a foundation for a cleaner and more environmental-friendly future. This article discusses the importance and versatility of metal complexes with N-donor ligands in various fields such as chemistry, biochemistry, material science, and the chemical industry. The reactivity and structural features of these complexes depend on factors such as the nature of the central atoms, the arrangement of N-donor ligands, and the presence of co-ligands. The article also highlights the applications of these complexes in the synthesis of industrially important materials and their use as catalysts in various reactions. In this paper, two benzimidazole derivative ligands were obtained using o-phenylenediamine and n-pyridine formaldehyde (n = 3, 4) by amine–aldol condensation reactions, which were reacted with selected inorganic metal salts by ambient temperature volatilization method to give compounds 1–4: {[(L1)6]·[Cu8I8]} (1), {[L1]·[CuBr]·H2O} (2), {[L2]·[CuBr]}n (3), and {[(L2)4]·[Cu4I4]} (4). They were characterized by IR, UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and single crystal X-ray analysis. Currently, the chemistry of self-healing polymers is aimed not only at obtaining materials with high self-healing efficiency, but also at improving their mechanical performance. This paper reports on a successful attempt to obtain self-healing copolymers films of acrylic acid, acrylamide and a new metal-containing complex of cobalt acrylate with a 4′-phenyl-2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine ligand. Samples of the formed copolymer films were characterized by ATR/FT-IR and UV-vis spectroscopy, elemental analysis, DSC and TGA, SAXS, WAXS and XRD studies. The incorporation of the metal-containing complex directly into the polymer chain results in an excellent tensile strength (122 MPa) and modulus of elasticity (4.3 GPa) of the obtained films. The resulting copolymers demonstrated self-healing properties both at acidic pH (assisted by HCl healing) with effective preservation of mechanical properties, and autonomously in a humid atmosphere at room temperature without the use of initiators. At the same time, with a decrease in the content of acrylamide, a decrease in the reducing properties was observed, possibly due to an insufficient amount of amide groups to form hydrogen bonds through the interface with terminal carboxyl groups, as well as a decrease in the stability of complexes in samples with a high content of acrylic acid. In this paper, preferential enrichment (PE) is described for three pairs of novel amino acid Schiff base Cu(II)/Cu(I) complexes. Single crystal X-ray diffraction indicated that 1-S/R are one-dimensional coordination polymers (CPs) with helical structures, and 2-S/R and 3-S/R are one-dimensional CPs with auxiliary ligands. By tuning the pH, the solvent and second ligands, the 1-S/R, 3-S/R underwent polymorphic transitions, resulting in enantioselective liberation of excess enantiomers into solution, until the deposited crystals were slightly enriched with the opposite enantiomer, thereby successfully exhibiting PE. However, under the effects of Cu(II), the solvent and low pH, 2-S/R did not exhibit PE and resulted in enrichment of racemic compounds, which was attributed to amino acid Schiff base chiral complex mechanisms of PE. The three pairs of Cu complex structures were characterized by UV-vis, MS and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). A novel highly fluorescent cadmium metal–organic framework, [Cd (DPTTZ) (OBA)] (IUST-3), synthesized by using two linkers 2, 5-di (pyridine-4-yl) thiazolo [5, 4-d] thiazole (DPTTZ) and 4, 4′-oxybis (benzoic acid) (OBA) simultaneously, which exhibits a two-dimensional framework. The characteristics of this Cd-MOF were investigated by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetry analysis. The IUST-3 exhibits excellent luminescence property and good stability in water. Luminescent experiments indicate that the IUST-3 has remarkable sensitivity and selectivity for the detection of 4-nitroaniline (4-NA), and CrO42− anion with KSV = 1.03 × 105 M-1 (4-NA) and KSV = 2.93 × 104 M-1 (CrO42−) and low limit of detection 0.52 µM (4-NA) and 1.37 µM (CrO42−). We developed a facile detection method of spermine based on the fluorescence (FL) quenching of the ciprofloxacin-Tb3+ complex, which shows astrong green emission. Ciprofloxacin (CP) makes efficient bondings to Tb3+ ion as a linker molecule through carboxylic and ketone groups to form a kind of lanthanide coordination polymer. The addition of spermine that competes with Tb3+ ions for the interaction with CP due to its positive charge brings about weakened coordination linkage of CP and Tb3+. The probe exhibited high sensitivity, selectivity, and good linearity in the range of 2–180 μM with a low limit of detection of 0.17 μM. Moreover, we applied this method on the paper strip test (PST), along with the integration of a smartphone and Arduino-based device. In this paper, we prepared the supramolecular polymers (MWCNT-APP-s) with a dual energy storage mechanism as the electrode materials by the coordination of four transition metal ions with the small molecule chelator (APP) and functionalized carbon nanotubes, respectively. Among four MWCNT-APP-s, MWCNT-APP-Fe has the characteristics of moderate micropore/mesopore, significant hydrophobicity, redox property and functional groups. Interestingly, the redox reaction of Fe3+/Fe2+ and -C N-/-C N- transformation give MWCNT-APP-Fe an energy storage basis of pseudocapacitance, while MWCNTs and the micro/mesopore structure in MWCNT-APP-Fe provide a double-layer energy storage platform. As expected, on base of the dual energy storage mechanism, the symmetric supercapacitor assembled with MWCNT-APP-Fe has a higher specific capacity (Cs, 421 F g−1 at 1 mV s−1) as well as a long-lasting stability of 94.8% capacity retention with 99% Coulombic efficiency after 10,000 cycles at 20 mV s−1. More notably, the relevant aqueous Zn2+ hybrid supercapacitor provides a high capacity (Cm) of 191 mAh g−1 at 0.5 A g−1 and a long duration of over 2000 cycles at 50 A g−1, with a capacity retention of 92.4%.
