The well-established practice of integrating heat pipes into thermosyphons is recognized for its efficacy in achieving energy savings. This integration facilitates heat transfer and fluid circulation without requiring additional pumps or energy input, resulting in reduced consumption, lowered operational costs, and an overall improvement in system efficiency. This research explores the energy-saving potential of closed-loop thermosyphons, with a specific focus on their integration in latent heat-based heat pipe technologies in industrial settings. The study systematically investigates the influence of thermosyphon orientation on energy efficiency through a combination of experiments and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations. Thereby, it results in superior heat transfer rates in forced convection scenarios. A closed-loop thermosyphon heat exchanger undergoes evaluation in three panel installation configurations relative to the ground, taking into consideration factors including copper diameters, coolants (with or without R410a), and temperature conditions. CFD validation identifies an efficient thermosyphon design—a panel oriented perpendicularly to the ground and filled with R410a refrigerant at 90 °C. It utilizes a 19.05 mm copper tube for forced convection. This optimized design demonstrates a commendable heat transfer rate of 1485 W and a heat transfer coefficient of 1252 W/(m2·K), significantly enhancing thermal process efficiency and resulting in notable energy savings. The experimental study of a single-effect modular adsorption cooling system with an activated carbon-methanol working pair is presented in this paper. The test unit is comprised of an adsorber, a condenser, and an evaporator in vertical alignment. Heating and cooling at the adsorber is by hot water at 70-90[degrees]C, whereas heating at the evaporator is performed by water at the ambient temperature. At the evaporator, a sonic wave generator enhances heat transfer for the boiling of methanol during the adsorption process. The system performance by considering the coefficient of performance (COP), specific cooling power (SCP), and volumetric cold production (VCP) is evaluated, and the sonic wave is demonstrated to reduce the evaporation time of methanol, which results in better system performances compared with the results in literature. The Pulp and Paper Industry is one of the largest carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) emitters in world manufacturing. The industry emits GHG emissions around 10% or approximately 20.5 Mt of CO 2 by Thai manufacturers. Investigations of GHG abatement using CO 2 Abatement Cost Curves (ACC) can be used as a tool for investigating GHG reduction measures and technologies in the Pulp and Paper Industry. Green Energy efficiency is becoming more important because of the resulting cost reduction and image of green society which helps to enhance competitiveness in a globalized green market. Pulp and paper manufacturing is a large-scale industry which is generally regarded as important for national development. The Pulp and Paper industry consumes approximately 2.5% of total industrial energy consumption in Thailand by 44 factories distributed throughout the country. Therefore, energy efficiency improvement can play a significant role in the industry. Investigations of the cost effectiveness of energy efficiency measures and technologies using bottom-up Conservation Supply Curve (CSC) in the pulp and paper mill process are required. This study examines the concept, methodology, and the usefulness of the energy conservation supply curve, and the potential to create the appropriate energy policies to the Thai Pulp and Paper Industry.
