Conference proceedings are valuable sources for research, providing insights into individual or organisational projects. Australian library and information services (LIS) professionals have the opportunity to contribute to a robust conference culture, including the biennial library technology VALA conference. Practice-driven conferences can offer interpretations of LIS practitioner experiences, however, there is limited research focusing on Australian LIS conference proceedings. The VALA conference papers offer a unique record of technology's impact, influence, and implementation in Australian LIS organisations over the last forty years. This article will outline the objective and methodology of an ongoing research project undertaking historical analysis of VALA conference papers. The research project seeks to examine key themes, theories, and tools discussed in VALA conference papers and will attempt to identify if evolving technology influences the practices and attitudes of Australian LIS practitioners. The article will identify the research methods and the content analysis techniques that will be used in the project, and present preliminary results from a pilot study presented at the 2023 RAILS conference. The study intends to presents a Bibliometric analysis of articles presented at the Nigerian Library Association's (NLA's) National Conferences/ AGMs, 2019-2021, it will find out the distribution of articles that were presented in NLA's conferences from 2019-2021, the degree of collaboration among the authors, and collaborative index of articles presented at NLA's National conferences from the year 2019-2021. Data were collected from the NLA's journals. To achieve the purpose of the study, three objectives guided the study. The study adopted descriptive survey design. The data were analyzed using frequency table and simple percentage. The findings of the study reveal that 29 articles were presented of which 17 of the number is multiple authors, and that of single authors is 12. The degree of collaboration of articles presented at NLA's National conferences 2019 to 2021 is 0.59, this indicates that degree of collaboration was positive; this reveals that NLA is presenting high quality articles. And the collaborative index of articles presented at NLA's conference in the year 2019 is 0.25 and in 2021 is 0.54. This indicates that the collaboration among the authors is positive. This indicates that NLA journals are publishing collaborative articles of high quality. The study recommended that measures should be taken to ensure that the invitations for papers reach every nooks and crannies of Nigeria; this can increase the number of contributors. Librarians within the Engineering Libraries Division (ELD) annually publish conference papers for the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). The existing ASEE rubric was not sufficient for our members, so we developed a new rubric as a charged committee for this task. We briefly discuss the sparse literature in this area, focusing on the use of rubrics and the rationale behind them. Due to this lack of literature, our committee primarily utilized additional sources such as rubrics found from other professional organizations in STEM and library fields. Our rubric is designed to encourage substantive feedback and growth of authors during the process, while clarifying the expectations for submissions. This rubric consists of overall guidance and specific needs, with flexibility for the different research methods and applications expected (i.e. work-in-progress/completed research, quantitative/qualitative, etc.). We implemented this rubric successfully for the 2021 conference cycle, but will further refine it as needed, based on feedback following future conferences. This essay describes the Scottish Court of Session Digital Archive Project (SCOS), a multi-institutional collaborative research initiative into Early America and the British Atlantic world. Developed by the digital scholarship team at the University of Virginia Law Library, in partnership with colleagues at the University of Edinburgh, SCOS explores everyday life in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries through Session Papers, the printed documents submitted to Scotland's supreme civil court during litigation. The project provides scholars, genealogists, and the public with openaccess digital copies of Session Papers held by the UVA Law Library, the Library of Congress, and other institutional partners. By digitizing these documents, contextualizing them with comprehensive metadata, and providing users with interpretative entry points, SCOS is designed to foster new research on this formative period of Scottish, British, and American history. Negara-Bangsa Proses dan Perbahasan (Malay for Nation-State: Process and Debate) by Abdul Rahman Embong, is a book that brings together nine essays on nation-state discussions written from 1995 to 2000. Five essays developed into Chapters 2, 4, 7, 8 and 9 were essays published in the Pemikir journal published by the Utusan Melayu Group while Chapters 5 and 6 were conference papers presented by Abdul Rahman in a seminar. All these essays have been updated and improved for the purpose of publishing this book. Additionally, Chapters 1 and 3 are new chapters written specifically for this book, which also debate on and discuss nation-states. Through this work, Abdul Rahman offers a continual, inclusive and semi-controversial perspective on important issues of Malaysia and its nation in particular and the world in general. We are pleased in this issue to present extended and enhanced versions of four award-nominated papers from the 2016 ACM/IEEE-CS Joint Conference on Digital Libraries (JCDL '16). JCDL can lay claim to being I the i preeminent academic conference for digital library research and so the papers in this issue reflect the best of what already is a highly selective group. A smaller group of papers were identified from the conference's papers as candidates for one of the conference's two full paper awards - papers selected either were specifically recommended by program committee members and/or were ones receiving the most positive reviews. Information literacy forms a key concept within Library and Information Science, where it forms the focus of scholarship, conferences, journals and teaching librarian practice, alike. However, little is known about how other fields and disciplines have employed these outputs within their own research and practice. This paper examines how the concept of information literacy has been leveraged into the discourses of non-Library and Information Science disciplinary landscapes. This is achieved through a qualitative mapping of five different fields and disciplines, including Higher Education, Management and Business, Public Health, Nursing and Psychology, to identify how information literacy terminology, definitions, theories and frameworks have travelled across scholarly and practice boundaries to become appropriated into other disciplinary landscapes. The aim of this collaborative work is to develop an indicative rather than an exhaustive understanding of what travels within information literacy research and practice and to strengthen the Library and Information Science narrative on the impact of information literacy activities. Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to discuss learning experiences, mutual benefits and possible drawbacks from collaborative writing and presentation of scientific papers at Bobcatsss international library conferences. Design/methodology/approach – A web-based questionnaire was sent to participants who co-authored and presented papers at the Bobcatsss 2012 conference. The results are measured against the viewpoints and experiences of five Norwegian students, who have collaborated with the author of this paper, at four Bobcatsss conferences, in 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2012. Findings – Responses from the survey and the student interviews indicate that collaborative writing is a superior strategy for learning LIS subjects. None of the interviewees and few of the respondents had attended a writing course to improve their writing skills. Many had not read literature of the type: "How to write a scientific paper". Practical implications – The study may be useful for future LIS students who arrange Bobcatsss conferences and for those who plan to write and present a scientific paper. Contributors could benefit from a study that highlights the theoretical, didactic and practical problems in the field of collaborative writing. Originality/value – While the data are exclusively from Bobcatsss, the findings may be more widely relevant. There are few studies on Bobcatsss, except for the annual reports. The World Crafts Council (WCC) was formed in 1964, according to its website, "to provide services to artists and craftsmen around the world [that will include] stimulating of public interest in and appreciation for the work of artists and craftsmen, providing a clearing house for creative, technical, economic and social assistance and a focus of cooperation among artists and craftsmen." In 1976, the Latin America Region of the WCC hosted the seventh biennial general assembly meeting of the global organization in Oaxtepec, Morelos, Mexico. Mexican president Luis Echeverría Álvarez inaugurated the June event. The general assembly, under the theme "The Living Crafts: Tradition and Quality," brought together artists and scholars from fifty-four nations around the globe to convene for five days of meetings, seminars, and workshops. International cooperation was the aim of the assembly and the mission of the WCC. Using the backdrop of the 1976 meeting in Oaxtepec, the author offers reflections on how the fifty-first annual conference of the Art Libraries Society of North America, held in Mexico City in 2023, mirrored the WCC's international convening of craft artists, as well as the challenges encountered when conducting archival research across borders. The article provides an update on the leadership, programs, and awards of the Library History Round Table (LHRT) from 1998 to 2023, Topic include it highlighting the growth and complexity of the LHRT over the past twenty-five years. By way of follow-up to earlier work in understanding and improving discoverability of scholarly content, this article reports on recent data and reflections that led to clearer definitions of discovery and discoverability, as well as deeper cross-sector collaborations on standards, transparency, metadata, and new forms of partnerships. Recent advances in discoverability are also described - from enhanced librarybased web-scale searching to serving researcher needs through the Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) registry. The article points to a 2014 SAGE white paper that presents in greater detail opportunities for wider collaboration among libraries, publishers, service providers, and researchers in the interest of furthering discovery, access, and usage of scholarly writings and creative work. The article presents the procedure for the conclusion of peace treaties with the five former satellites of Nazi Germany after the end of the Second World War. The paper uses the methodology of the historical and legal analysis. The focus is on the accessible State Department archives for the Potsdam Conference of the Big Three, the first session of the Council of Foreign Ministers in London, and the December 1945 conference of the Foreign Ministers of the USSR, the United States, and the United Kingdom in Moscow. The negotiations between the three Great Powers leading to the decision to hold the Paris Peace Conference in 1946 are examined. Conclusions are made about how the USA, the United Kingdom and the USSR did not spare efforts to maintain complete control over the process without allowing other powers to interfere. E-LIS ePrints for Library and Information Science is an international digital repository for Library and Information Science (LIS) Open Archives Initiative compliant. This 21th International Conference is focused on open science this year and "Grey literature by definition seeks to make publications produced on all levels of government, academics, and business openly accessible different from those controlled by commercial publishing." (http://www.textrelease.com/gl21conference.html) Thematic open access repositories as arXiv or E-LIS have years hosting this kind of academic materiales. E-LIS hosts documents in 22 document types (plus dataset recently added) including those belonging to the traditional gray literature world as Preprints, Thesis, Technical and dept. Reports, and those encompassing new forms of Grey Literature as Data and Datasets. These old and new forms of grey Literature constitute 40% of the whole content of the repository (working papers presented to conference, congresses and different events, presentation in PPT, tutorial and learning material for almost, report, thesis, ...). E-LIS is completely built with open source softwares is hosted by University Federico II. After 16 years from its take-off in 2003, the disciplinary repository contains 22,000 open access articles, in 27 different languages. All the continents are now represented, with a distribution that actively involves over 60 different countries. There are over a million annual discharges requested by users all over the world, numerous from the United States but also from China and South America. The metadata of the deposited works (one hundred per month on average) are validated by the editorial staff divided by geographical areas. The pivot on which the editorial work gravitates is the classification by country which has conferred an international aspect to the archive, aligning it with the organizational model, possibly thanks to the voluntary collaboration of about 80 professionals, including editors and technicians. The collaboration with countries ignored for years by the librarianship tradition is what has made E-LIS particularly innovative on issues previously poorly represented or considered on the margins. Topics that reflect a "different" cultural approach in E-LIS finds space, generating an intellectual growth with respect to the comparison between identity and otherness, in particular respects to the presence of Grey Literature. The studies on the bibliometrics of Indian colleagues, the collaboration with Cuban librarians at the time of the US embargo, the request to include the Maori language by New Zealand colleagues, the emergence of contents from the East of the world, the ferment of the South American jobs for Open Access are just some of the inclusiveness traits of the multicultural character of E-LIS, one of the reasons for its success. Its organizational structure of international scope makes it a model for the construction of open digital libraries, exportable to other communities. Its technical structure, linked to the OAI context and the accompanying innovative tools, provides useful services for the scientific communication circuit: analysis of log files for the production of statistics by author and for single work. Libraries have evolved from collections to convening spaces over the past 30 years and the next evolution of libraries will see library leaders and workers advance community building. Leveraging the centrality of their spaces and the appreciative view their communities extend, library leaders and workers can build on the authentic concern we hold for our community's wellbeing by fostering libraries as places for community transformation, regardless of library type. This article applies a powerful methodology for building community that assumes that conventional ways societies realize change is flawed because it fails increasingly large numbers of our citizens, despite our collective efforts to double down on what is not working for most of us. The shift from a retributive agenda to a restorative one where citizens reclaim their power and leaders' job is transformed from solving problems to convening powerful conversations becomes the work of libraries and leaders. It should be noted that this article grew out of a series of conversations between the author and Peter Block, who advised on the content and structure of the paper and whose book Community: The Structure of Belonging provides the foundation of community building that this contribution adapts to a library leadership context. The article discusses the highlights of the sixth international conference on Conceptions of Library and Information Sciences (CoLIS6) in Borås, Sweden on August 13-16, 2007. It scrutinizes the underlying methodological ideas that advise the research efforts within the LIS discipline. One of the sustaining principles for CoLIS is its emphasis on interdisciplinary issues. It is under the CoLIS umbrella that different perspectives, theories, methods and both abstract and practical outcomes meet.

There is a human fundamental need to know who we are and where we come from. In an age when myths, legends and family memories are starting to fade or become obsolete, science is brought in to fill the gaps and answer these questions. This article introduces a special theme section dedicated to critical reflections on the relationship between the disciplines of archaeology and archaeogenetics. It gives a summary of the 'Can science accommodate multiple ontologies? The genetics revolution and archaeological theory' workshop held in Cambridge in 2018, followed by an introduction to the papers in this theme section. The main purpose of the study is to analyze the scientific productions published in scientific databases on Industrial Revolution (4IR) and libraries. The researchers investigated the scientific productions that were produced during the last decade (2010 to 2021) and indexed them in the Scopus database. The databases were inspected by VOSviewer and Biblioshiny software for those documents related to the 4IR and library. The keywords are used "Industrial Revolution*" AND "Librar*" in searching. The database's total results are 178. The selection of years shrinks the outputs to 98 publications. Published articles in English, 4IR, and libraries met several important inclusion and exclusion benchmarks for this evaluation. The study found the largest scholarly publication resulting from the country 'USA' (n=10), 'South Africa' (n=8) and Indonesia (n=7) from the total results. The study revealed that Library Hi Tech News provided the majority of the publications (n=06) and Journal of Physics Conference Series and Library Philosophy and Practice ranked 2nd (n=03) and 3rd (n=03) respectively. The research found the most productive organizations were Universiti Teknologi Malaysia ranked 1st (n=10), University Library ranked 2nd (n=8) and Konkuk University ranked 3rd (n= 8). The study found Matofska, B. (n=8) as the most productive author and 2020 (n=28) as the most productive year in the field. The co-occurrence analysis confirmed that the study formed 2 clusters. This scientometric analysis illustrated the overall research flow and scenario along with research growth, productive authors, prolific sources and affiliations in the field that will show the path of the research scholars. This paper discusses current directions, challenges, and future insights in libraries and librarianship in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region based on the authors' research, knowledge, and experience. The authors gathered information from printed and electronic materials indexed in Arabic databases, talks and workshops at Arabic regional conferences, and expert comments. The collected data were analyzed using the content analysis method. They were categorized using an adaptation of the classification employed by the American Library Association's Center for the Future of Libraries to make them easier to comprehend and examine library trends in depth. ALA's acronym for its classification is STEEPED, which stands for Society, Technology, Education, Environment, Politics, Economics, Demographics, which due to the nature of the data collected was changed to STEEC (Society, Technology, Education, Economics, and Cultural Heritage).
